OTF Bombay Bugzbe brings bouncy vibes to the summer with new single ‘Free Smoke’

LOS ANGELES, CA – The Black Puerto Rican is on the scene with a brand new album and a hot new single that is ready to set the summer on fire. OTF Bombay Bugzbe has just dropped his new album “La Boriquen Negrito” (The Black Puerto Rican), and already fans and industry insiders are giving it quite a bit of praise. With a mix of old-school hip-hop and new-school vibes, OTF Bombay brings a unique rap style that hasn’t ever been heard in the game before. As he talks about his influences and his journey from Chicago to LA, he offers a transparent introduction to who he is and what he brings with his music. It’s an album that not only establishes his talent as an artist, but also shows the world a serious entertainer who is in it for the long-haul.

The summer-ready first single from the album is “Free Smoke,” which is currently available across all streaming platforms. It’s a bouncy jam that will have people up on their feet and vibing over the next few months. Whether out on the beach, cruising down the street or just hanging at home with friends, this is the kind of song that is perfect for any occasion.

“I’m passing out free smoke,” OTF Bombay said. “Everybody wants to contact me because I got free weed. That’s what this song is about. If you got problems, you can come to me and I’ll help you out. It’s a song that shows off my style. The way my accent is and the way I speak and rap is like no one you’ve ever heard. You can’t compare me to anyone else.”

Bombay Bugzbe said he first started rapping as a child when he was influenced by a friend from school. He was always a shy person as a child, but the friend encourages him to freestyle one day and it was such an enjoyable experience that he never looked back. He started spending his evenings writing verses, and as he’d share those rhymes with his friends they would be extremely encouraging of his natural gift. Eventually he moved to California to attend art school, and graduated with a degree in music production. Today he puts those experiences and training to work as a recording artist, and he’s excited for the world to check out what he has to offer by way of entertainment.

“I hope people see me as someone who never lost track of the vision I wanted to accomplish,” he said. “I also hope I inspire a lot of other people to do the same thing. Pursue what you have in your heart to do. I want to be that kind of big influence, and I’m just taking it one step at a time.”

Following “La Boriquen Negrito,” Bombay said he’s got a single he’s developing with Philly Young Mel called “Yerky Hours,” which is set to release sometime this summer. He also has a single called “Insidious” that he’s collaborating on with the artist I WEST WEST, which should also drop before the end of the summer.

Lyrico Godchild – Only You

Blog, Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Videos

Love, respect and unity take center stage on new single from Lyrico Godchild

PHILADELPHIA, PA – Augustine Kiawu has the kind of second-chance redemption story that most people only dream of.

Better known as the artist Lyrico Godchild, this Liberian-born multi-talented musician came to the U.S. in 2002 and lived in Maryland and Philadelphia, where he met a couple of African and Black American rappers. After a couple freestyle sessions, he was given the name Lyrico and he hasn’t looked back since. But he got into trouble around this time, as well, and was arrested and charged with a crime that would have resulted with him serving 40 years in jail if the judge had found him guilty. But while serving time at the Buck County Correctional Facility, Lyrico said he had a powerful vision from God that instructed him to accept Jesus as the son of God and as his personal Lord and Savior. Moreover, he said God told him that if he did this and obeyed Him, he would bless his legal fight and take him from jail, transforming his life in ways far beyond he could ever imagine. Lyrico accepted Jesus and told God that he’d service him with his unique gifts, talents, and abilities to the best of his abilities.

After three months in jail, Lyico was released on bail. And in July 2010 and all charges were dropped, as God had promised. Since then, Lyrico has changed his life and decided to use his gifts to do God’s work. He’s become a minister and serves as the lead prophet and pastor at House of Prayer Ministry. He found a wife and the two of them have three children. And he’s now using his Gospel rap talents to spread God’s Word to others around the world – helping them to believe in the same hope and salvation that he has experienced in his own life.

“I’m not rapping about what I heard from people, or preachers, or not only what I read in the Bible, per se,” he said. “I’m rapping about personal experiences and my one-on-one encounter with God. I’m rapping about the street life – the dark side – and its opposite, the light of God and Christianity. This is me and this is my life and that’s what makes me stand out.”

Lyrico’s latest single, “Only You,” is the perfect example of how he uses music to serve as a testimony to the world. Calling it one of his “most special” songs, it’s a jam that he said was given to him by God while he was in jail.

“God said I will take you from jail and make you a free man,” Lyrico said. “He said I will bless you in ways you wouldn’t even dream of. That transformation started, and my ministry started, in jail. The Holy Spirit was revealing deep things to me. And I’ve been using this gift to build platforms to spread the Gospel ever since. This song is a testimony that it was only God who delivered me from that life and from jail. I hope people remember me as an artist who revealed the power of God, and who he is. I’m not just a Christian hip-hop artist – I’m a God-fearing, Christian artist. Music is just one piece of the pie for me when it comes to my ministry. Ultimately what I stand for is love, respect and unity.”

Lyrico said in addition to “Only You,” he’s also hard at work on developing a full album called “From the Streets to the Pulpit,” which should drop later this year.

Dijellza – Pink Jacket

Blog, Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Promo, Videos

Dijellza Ajdini Celebrates Love’s Breathless Moments in Dance-Pop Gem “Pink Jacket”

(Chapel Hill, NC)

For Dijellza Ajdini, music has always been an empowering force, one that lets her encapsulate the feeling of a moment into a three-minute pop song. In her new single, “Pink Jacket,” a romantic memory becomes a bouncy, breathless, seeming effortless piece of ear candy.

Set to a beat both sensual and urgent, “Pink Jacket” makes use of cello accents, twinkling flourishes, and moments when the beat drops out, leaving only Ajdini’s voice. In the space of one song, she showcases multiple facets of her vocals, alternately sounding breezy, ethereal, or just like one friend speaking to another. The lyrics celebrate a turn towards hopefulness. “I was never the type to believe in love; I was always the type to push and shove,” she sings. The rest of the lyrics celebrate snapshots of an encounter—“hands on my waist, hands on my face,” she repeats, building anticipation for what’s to come.

“I wrote the song in August of last year. It’s about a boy. He had hazel eyes and always wore a pink jacket. The song channels how I felt in the moment–very loved and appreciated for who I was,” she remembers.  Though Ajdini often co-writes with her brother, Ben, she wrote “Pink Jacket” by herself, feeling an instant connection with the song.

The song’s video, inspired by Harry Potter, centers around a magic potion. The fanciful nature seems right at home with the song’s theme of being under the spell of love. Set in a high school classroom, the video also features dialogue written by Adjini’s brother, as well as the appearance of a mystery woman.

Growing up surrounded by music in her Albanian family, the singer gravitated towards mainstream pop artists from a young age. The music of Selena Gomez, in particular, was another kind of magic potion. Ajdini grew up with Gomez’s music, saying, “Since I was a child, I’ve always felt connected with and inspired by her music. She has this song called ‘Who Says’ that I used to sing when I was seven and pretending to be onstage. She made powerful speeches about positive things. I was a child and they still affected me and lifted me up.”

Those role models helped carry Ajdini here, making highly relatable pop-R&B music with an uplifting spirit. “The one message I always try to spread is to love yourself first. Beauty is within all of us, but beautiful things take time to blossom,” she says. The metaphor of transformation is especially close to her as she prepares to release her debut EP, Butterflies, out May 17, 2021.

To the singer, butterflies represent freedom as well metamorphosis, symbolism which inspired her EP. “It’s about letting go. I conceptualize each song as a butterfly. I take the baggage and trauma I’ve had and transform it into a butterfly,” she explains, adding a touch of serendipity to the theme. “I was on set of a video. The director noticed that a monarch butterfly flew in as we were talking about the EP.”

“Pink Jacket” will be available on all streaming platforms on May 10, 2021.
Butterflies will be out on May 17, 2021.

Lejetski – Univers ++ Banger

French rapper Lejetski melds spirituality with heart and soul of hip-hop on energetic debut single

PARIS, FRANCE – Spirituality meets hip-hop and rap with upbeat vibes on new music from Parisian artist Lejetski, co-founder of the label French Slime Rich with Issa Smith. With a punchy vibe filled with lots of energy ready to get fans all over the world turnt up, this 20-year-old artist’s fresh new sound is paving the way for a whole new niche within the hip-hop genre. His latest single “Univers ++ Banger” is his introduction to the world, and brings to light his mission to bring spirituality to the world of hip-hop and rap. It’s his debut single – and when it comes to debuts, this is one of the most outstanding to hit the music industry in a long time.

Lejetski is a young French rapper who moved to Paris in 2019 to discover his voice as an artist in the midst of the budding French rap scene. Freestyling on the streets and posting videos on social media led him to clip and record his first songs, which went viral and created a strong fanbase for this new sound he’s introducing to the world. It’s a new wave he claims to break – something crazy and spontaneous but also natural and familiar. It’s a sound that’s hard to pinpoint and label, but which is immediately attractive to anyone who hears it.

“I want to be one of the precursors of this sound,” Lejetski said. “I want to be one of the first to bring that level of spirituality to the world of hip-hop and rap. We are shifting into a new world, and I think I’m one of the new artists who is going to help bring that shift about to the world. I’m introducing a new culture through spiritual trap – Spiritrap!”

Lejetski said he is not confined to a particular style because he is inspired by all genres of music – from Metal to Classical – and that he has no barriers. The more he has studied, the more he has realized that rap had really become more elevated over the years. He saw that many artists were tapping into lyrics that were deeply philosophical, but he wanted to push even further into spiritual realms. He said he’s always been a person who brings good energy with his music, and the idea of intentionally creating a new sound that pairs spiritual lyrics and vibes with the heart-and-soul of hip-hop just seemed to make sense.

“You can hear it immediately in my lyrics and in my personality,” he said. “You can even see it with the cover art for my music – the meditative images. I want to share my good energy with the world and to inspire people to do what they love. I started experimenting and it grew over time to become something more important to me. Now it’s the main thing that I do.”

Lejetski said he’s on a mission to become the next big international artist, and he’s excited to represent France and the progressive music that’s coming out of his home country. Alongside French Slime Rich, he aims to represent French rap and spirituality, with many other artists among his community set to join the international wave of new music. In addition to “Univers ++ Banger” – which is currently available on Soundcloud and has reached 100,000 streams in less than two weeks – he’s also working on an album that he hopes to drop before the end of the year.

Coach Sauce – Tae Pt. 1

Blog, Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Promo, Videos

Loss of best friend inspires artist Coach Sauce to create new album

MANSFIELD, OH – Devall Williams, better known by his stage name Coach Sauce, is a professional rapper from Mansfield, Ohio, who has been a major player in the music industry for the past few years. He has been developing new artists under his music label HMG Muzik Group for the past two years, and recently has started his own endeavor as an artist with the release of his new album “I’m Not Sorry for the Weight.” The project is inspired by the loss of his best friend, Johnny Rob, who was the one who first encouraged him to get into music and explore his natural talent as an artist.

“Some people say sorry for the wait, but I’m not sorry for what I’m doing,” Coach Sauce said. “I’m not sorry for the weight on my shoulders or anything I’m doing right now. I’m trying to reach out to other artists and music lovers and help people make it out and break out of the streets and the struggle and accomplish something in life. I lost Johnny Rob last year. He was my right-hand man. I’ve also lost a couple of loved ones over the past years, but he was a real deep one to me. That and the fact that a couple friends got incarcerated made me feel like it was time to make a change. Instead of having this revolving door of everyone getting locked up in the system or dying, I decided it’s time to make a change.”

Coach Sauce said his main goal is to make music with which people can relate. He’s never going to write lyrics that don’t pull from his own personal experiences, or from some kind of experience he shared with someone else. And by sharing those experiences through song, he knows that anyone else who has gone through similar experiences will be able to relate to the everyday struggles.

He also talks a lot about relationships and love and loyalty, the latter of which is the most important thing to him in life. Loyalty means everything to him, and he’s been known to say that he would choose loyalty over love any day of the week. That’s something that takes center stage on the standout single “Tae Pt. 1,” which is currently available across all streaming platforms. Coach Sauce said there will be four Tae songs, all of which are inspired by and serve as a dedication to his fiancé.

“This music is mainly dedicated to my family,” he said. “HMG stands for unity and loyalty and family. That’s what this music is about. We’re all putting our pain in our music and using that to inspire other people. If we can do it, we know you can do it, too. I just want to be known for reality and authenticity and trying to reach people all around. I’m trying to get to the point where every time you hear my music, you get chills.”

La’Mariona – Boomarang

Blog

Bold new female rapper La’Mariona offers warning to the world with new single ‘Boomarang’

NORFOLK, VA – What you put out into the world always comes back to you. If it’s good, more than likely you’ll receive good in return. But if it’s bad, the negativity will bounce back in ways that are more painful than you might realize.

That’s the sentiment behind the new single from DMV artist La’Mariona. “Boomarang” is a hard-hitting song that not only showcases the originality of this fast-rising young artist, but also offers a feel-good vibe for music lovers all over the world. Produced by Zukhanbeats – the same producer who has worked with Jay-Z, Kendrick Lamar, Ludacris and “WeFlyHigh” Jim Jones, among others – “Boomarang” is a tale of karma over an upbeat vibe that is sure to have heads bobbing, feet moving and girls twerking.

“When you throw a boomerang, it comes back to you,” La’Mariona said. “That’s life. What goes around, comes around. Whatever you put out there in the atmosphere comes back.”

The single is one in which La’Mariona said her fresh take on hip-hop will help her to stand out among the other female artists of the genre. She said she avoids talking about subjects in the normal way most female rappers do, choosing not to use sex and her body as a selling point for her music. La’Mariona would rather become known as an intelligent artist who talks about “real stuff.” Through that work, she hopes to be able to inspire other females to embrace their independence and boldly live without the co-dependency on men.

“Ladies don’t need dudes to be in their lives to be successful,” she said. “You don’t need a partner all the time, and you don’t need a man to affirm you. I hope to inspire girls to follow in my shoes. You can be yourself. You can be independent. You can make money on your own. I’m different than any other female rapper out there because I say things how I want to. I’m not like anybody else, and people are going to see what I’m made of when they hear this music.”

La’Mariona said “Boomarang” is the first single off a new album she plans to release later this year called “BAM (Bitches And Money).” The 12-song project will continue to explore themes that have to do with the ups-and-downs of life. Prior to its release, La’Mariona said she wants to release another single from the project called “Never Truss,” which will be more of a heartfelt upbeat song perfect for the summer.

Brooke Fair – Bite My Tongue

Blog, Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Promo, Videos

Up-and-coming singer/songwriter Brooke Fair motivates fans with two new singles

MEMPHIS, TN – At age 16, it feels weird to Brooke Fair to think of her passion for creating music as a career. She does music because she loves it. It’s her coping mechanism. It’s in her bones. And when she creates new songs, she’s sharing a huge part of her soul with everyone who hears it. But with such natural talent and an undeniable signature sound, it has become evident that she’s the kind of artist who has what it takes to make music a lifelong endeavor. Her first EP that she released at age 14 made a major splash in the industry, and the three other singles she’s released since that time have continued to expand her fanbase on a global level. Now she’s ready to release two more hit singles in the month of May with “Bite My Tongue” and “I’m Not Sorry.”

The first single drops May 14. “Bite My Tongue” explores a friend-based relationship that is on the rocks and creates moments of tension more often than not. It’s a song that will be immediately identifiable for other teenagers, but which also has a deep message that resonates with music lovers of all ages. Showcasing her amazing vocals set against an indie-pop vibe, the song evokes thoughts of Taylor Swift or English singer Dodie.

“It’s a song about feeling like there’s a friendship that has a lot of issues that you’ve ng to work out – or any relationship, really – and feeling like you can’t say anything because it wouldn’t be productive or you’d lost too much if you spoke up,” Fair said. “But in the back of your mind you know it has to end because of how unhealthy it has gotten. I feel like sonically it’s presented in a way that makes it feel less sad than it sounds, and the fact that it’s upbeat I think helps people relate to it more and reflect on those things. I’ve been in situations when I’ve had to recognize things about myself, and if I’m listening to something upbeat and the lyrics are really hitting home, then I’m more likely to make that change and consider what it means to have a different perspective. When you phrase your experiences in the right way it can draw people in.”

Fair will follow that single with “I’m Not Sorry” on May 28, two days before her 17th birthday. Like “Bite My Tongue,” the second single is a great showcase of her amazing vocals and Indie-Pop style. It’s also a song that perfectly displays her natural talent as a songwriter, with lyrics that further explore the depths of relationships while also serving as a motivational mantra for anyone who listens to it.

“It’s almost like a sequel to ‘Bite My Tongue’ because it’s on the back end of a relationship that you’ve decided to end,” Fair said. “You’ve decided to cut that person off and leave the relationship, and you’re saying ‘I’m not sorry’ for setting boundaries or leaving and doing what’s best for you. It’s empowering in that you’re unapologetically standing up for yourself.”

Fair worked closely with Grammy-nominated songwriter Jamie Floyd on “I’m Not Sorry,” and co-wrote “Bite My Tonge” with Rebekah White Williams, continuing her string of collaborations with influential veterans of the industry. She has previously worked with renowned producer Elliot Ives, and recorded a couple of songs with Sarah Simmons, an artist who was featured on NBC’s The Voice.

Fair said in addition to these two singles she’s hard at work on an album, which she hopes to release later this year. It’s a project that will feature a cool mix of Memphis style and pop for a twist that she said is like nothing anyone has ever seen before.

Trickstaer – Delinquent Center

Blog, Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Promo, Videos

Underground criminal and talented musician Trickstaer drops new project ‘Delinquent Center, a Whisper Album’

NEW BRAUNFELS, TX – Tony Truong, better known by his stage name Trickstaer, is a Vietnamese-American rapper, singer, composer and record producer who has been making a name for himself throughout the music industry over the past few years. He received initial recognition from the third collection of music, “Phantoms of Reiterations,” which he released in September 2020. Today he’s looking to expand his global fanbase with the release of his latest album “Delinquent Center, A Whisper Album.”

Self-described as a “crazy journey and life experience rap project” that showcases his unique skillset and signature style as an artist, “Delinquent Center, A Whisper Album” takes listeners on a journey that shows a young music lover evolve into a bona fide rapper who has the raw, natural talent to one day become a household name. No longer is Trickstaer a new artist. With this new album he’s showing the world a maturity as an artist that only comes with someone who has put in the hard work to hone his skills and develop a quality of sound that is second-to-none.

“The perspective of this album is from the emotions a kid from a delinquent center,” Trickstaer said. “It’s a metaphor. The world is a delinquent center, so you should watch your back.”

The standout single from the album is a song of the same name, “Delinquent Center.” Further piggybacking off the idea of a kid in a delinquent center, the song is unexpectedly about love and heartbreak and the inability to share love with someone when you’re trapped by other obligations or restrictions.

“It’s about being in an isolated life, loving somebody and the intimacy that holds nobody’s opinions but the two of yours,” he said. “And when it’s gone, there’s nobody to hold the pain but you. That’s the love of Delinquent Center. If you get your heart broken in a delinquent center, what do you do? Nobody takes care of you but you. It’s a song that shows vulnerability. My music began from a place of talking and a need for a voice. This is not about being scary, but I come from a bad life and I’m bringing music from a vulnerable place around it. I’m misunderstood, because this is more about not being accepted for who I am. I am an enigma. Out of that I think I’ve created one of the best, most classic albums for people to listen to.”

“Delinquent Center, A Whisper Album” is currently available across all digital streaming platforms. To listen to his music, or to follow him on social media, please visit the following links:

Akeem Magnetic – Woah!

Blog, Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Promo, Videos

Fans around the world are attracted to the wisdom of young artist Akeem Magnetic and his pumped up new single ‘Whoa’

COLLEGE PARK, GA – Akeem Magnetic is an artist who is authentic, unapologetic and about to get you pumped up. His latest single will make you say “Whoa!” … literally. It’s an upbeat, summer-ready jam that is sure to have people on their feet and bouncing, while also serving as an anthem, of sorts, for the masses.

“It’s a song to get people pumped up,” Akeem said. “It’s basically an expression that you would say when you’ve come through something hard and you’ve triumphed. It’s like, ‘Whoa Kemosabe! I did it!’ For me it starts with overcoming my trials and making major changes after I did two years in prison and now seeing everything I ever thought could come to me, and I’m just like ‘Whoa!’”

Born in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, but raised on the South Side of Atlanta in the neighborhood known as College Park, Akeem developed a passion for music at a very young age. He was inspired by his father, who was a producer, and his uncle, who was a rapper. He recalls many times as a young child when he’d be with the both of them in the studio, or watching his dad stay up late at night making beats. He embraced that musical influence and showcased a natural affinity for freestyling. But in his early teenage years he ran into trouble with the law. He spent the last year-and-a-half of his sentence in a halfway house, which is where music really became his main outlet of expression and his saving grace.

“When I was in the halfway house I created a single called ‘Crime College,’” Akeem said. “It did really well and got a lot of attention, and that kind of served as a transition for me that made me want to music full-time. Once I got out and had the support of my family – which is just beautiful – I’ve been working hard to make this music successful.”

In October 2020, Akeem released his first single, “Humble Beginnings.” With more than 100,000 monthly listeners on Spotify and more than 15,000 social media followers, Akeem’s progress in the music industry continues to skyrocket. And now, with the release of his latest single “Whoa,” he plans to become a dominant force in the industry. With such a rapid rise and relentless stream of critical and real-world problems, it’s clear that Akeem has clear knowledge and plans for success.

“My music comes from my experiences alone and it’s distinguished from any other artist out there,” he said. “My name Akeem means wise, and I’ve paired that with something that’s attractive, like a magnet. What I speak and say attracts people. I’m a magnetic character, and my music is all about being attracted to that wisdom through good vibes. My truth and authenticity comes through in creative ways, and I’m excited for more people to hear it.”
