Yung HD – Faces

Yung HD follows success of first album
with killer follow-up ‘Bars From Mars Too’

ATLANTA, GA – Jeffrey Childress was almost literally born into music. Some of his very first memories are of times spent in his father’s recording studio. Joe Da Boss had his own record label and would often bring his son to the studio with him. At age 9, Childress was able to lay some snares down on a beat for one of his father’s artists, and he even got a production credit for it. Over the years, he ate, slept and breathed music, and a nickname quickly emerged for him throughout the neighborhood: Yung Hood.

As he grew older and developed his own unique sound and style, that name evolved into Yung HD – a name that not only nods to his past and the extensive training he’s had in the music industry but also draws attention to the clarity and excellence of his voice. It’s like high definition.

Today, Yung HD is riding a wave of success off recent releases, and he’s set to take his brand to the next level with his new album “Bars From Mars Too.” It’s a continuation of his first album “Bars From Mars” with songs and vibes that take his sound to the next level. Since dropping the album on May 3, he has already seen more than 200,000 streams. It’s worth mentioning that before releasing “Bars From Mars Too” Yung HD signed to White Velvet Records.

“It’s a project that’s all about my life and the things I was going through at the time I created the first album and how I’ve overcome all of that,” Yung HD said. “It’s a little bit of everything – upbeat tracks and laid-back tracks and just this new wave I’m on. I use auto-tune to make it sound good and you can understand everything I’m saying. I got a message behind what I’m saying. I’m not talking about drugs and money and stuff like that, but the struggles of being an independent artist and making everything work together. If you keep pushing, you’ll have something to show for it.”

Though this is only his second official album, Yung HD has been making music professionally for years. He released his first project “Smoke Music” in his late teens and since then has opened for people like Rick Ross, Curen$y, Rittz, Tuki Carter, Raz Simone, Twisted Insane, Three 6 Mafia, Whitney Peyton, Trinidad James and many more. He has also started his own label, Twist Up Entertainment LLC and co-founded it with Joshua A1 Owens. Under this independent label, Yung HD said he has brought together an elite team of artists, producers, directors, designers, managers and entrepreneurs – each member being a leader and offering something unique and beneficial to the team.

One such collaboration includes Ronnie Reed, who is featured on the song “Wasting Time,” which is the debut single from Yung HD’s new album. Described as a “laid-back track for the females,” the single is about picking up a girl late at night and having a good time. Yung HD said he and Ronnie Reed connected through a music video project some years back and immediately clicked through similar interests in music. In addition to their work together on “Wasting Time,” they’ve also collaborated on two other songs – one on Yung HD’s previous album and one on Ronnie Reed’s album.

[Video] Johnny Casini – Dark Sunglasses @JohnnyCasini

Blog, Videos

Johnny Casini was born 26 years ago in Correggio (Italy). His parents directed him towards musical studies, specifically classical guitar, when he was five years old. At the age of 13 he started his first experiences with his friends/musicians studying electric guitar. His main influences in this artistic phase were classic international rock (Beatles, Rolling Stones, Guns and Roses) and more recent Brit Pop bands (Oasis, Verve, Kasabian), all leading to the publication of his first self-produced demo of original songs, “For a New Death”, in 2014. In that same year, during a concert promoting that first release, Johnny met the producer and manager Claude Ismael (Youssou N’Dour, Kool & The Gang, Rita Marley, Barry White, Frank Zappa, The Cure) who was blown away by his talent, his compositional technique, and his strong personality. Claude Ismael convinced Johnny to actively embark on a musical career, offering him to executive produce his first real album. Johnny has since begun a new life, abandoning his university studies in chemistry and leaving Italy in 2015 to spend a year in London under the supervision of renowned musician and producer
Phil Manzanera (Roxy Music, David Gilmour, David Byrne, Brian Eno, Pink Floyd, Annie Lennox, et al). This period has been a tough time for Johnny, who started pre-production of his album with a number of excellent musicians including Gus Robertson (Razorlight), Javier Weyler (Stereophonics), Michael Boddy (Bryan Ferry & Roxy Music), Paddy Milner (Todd Sharpville), and Yaron Stavi (Richard Galliano, Robert Wyatt, David Gilmour). Far from his family and loved ones, living with music 24/7, Johnny has grown both as a person and as an artist, pouring his feelings and the emotions drawn from the incredible experiences of this long period into his compositions. Upon completing the recording sessions of his first album, “Dark Shadows of White Lies” a perfect mix of British and American influences, from Southern rock to British indie and soul ballads, in 2017 Johnny Casini travelled to California with Claude Ismael to start a new adventure alongside musical director Keri Lewis (Mint Condition, Toni Braxton), in preparation of his album launch in the US and later on in Europe. After years of hard work, the release of Johnny Casini’s first single, “Dark Sunglasses”, is planned for November 2018. Johnny Casini is a star in the making be on the look out for more music from Johnny Casini.

Money Dron – Run It Up

Blog, ME Blog, Music, Promo

Money Dron makes major life change and pours passion into music

SYRACUSE, NY – When Adronnice Collins was released from prison in 2017, he promised himself he was never going back. In-and-out of New York State’s penitentiary for most of his young life for crimes associated with drugs and violence, he knew that if he didn’t make a major change, his life would never get better.

And so he turned to music. He adopted the stage name Money Dron and started working on hard on developing a unique sound and style that would help him to stand out in a crowded music industry. In April 201, he released his debut album “Hustlers Ambition” and in the year since, he’s seen a steady increase of support and fan-following.

“It’s an album that’s a mixture of hip-hop and club songs,” he said. “It’s not an underground, hard-core album. It has a more up-to-date feel with the industry. It has rap, but it also has strip club songs and R&B songs on there. And the songs talk more about of my upbringing than anything else, as well as stories and experiences from my life and the things that led me to jail for hustling and things of that nature on the streets.”

The upcoming mixtape is called “Bangers.” It’s made for the streets and is a term well-known by people living and working on the streets.
“’Bangers’ is a word we use in my city for something good,” he said. “If something is dope or hot, that’s a Banger. This mixtape in and of itself is a Banger. It’s something you can ride around to or play back over and over because it gets you hyped.”

His single “Run it Up” Is a club song that works perfect for parties and has become so popular in the year since its release that it’s been spun on some shows in Canada and California, and is up for consideration with Ride Videos. At the end of the day, he said it’s a song that helps showcase that unique sound and style he’s been working so hard on for so long, and which he hopes will carve out a niche for him within the industry.

“My versatility really sets me apart from other artists,” he said. “I don’t sound like anybody else. I’ve been recording since I was 17 or 18 years old, though I never really took it serious. But after this last time in prison, I knew I had to do something serious. I’m tired of going back and forth to prison. I have to switch things up. This is more my grind and something I believe in. I don’t want to be a statistic and get caught up and do a long time in prison. And if I stick with this lifestyle, that’s what will happen. I got kids and I gotta be out here for them, and music is something I believe in. I have a story to tell and experiences I’ve been through, and music will be the thing that will save me from a lot of stuff I could be in.”
