YungChi DaBest – Money, Power, Respect (Feat. FIEND)

Hip-hop veteran brings upbeat summer vibe to the masses with new hit single ‘Money, Power, Respect’

CHICAGO, IL – Like many musicians of the modern era, Marcus Turner was inspired by the legendary Michael Jackson. He remembers clearly watching Michael performing alone on stage in front of a huge crowd, and he was mesmerized by how captivating of a performance the legend created. In a flash of insight, young Turner knew that’s what he wanted to do with his life, too. Fast forward a few years and Turner is living out that dream as the artist known as YungChi DaBest. And his latest single, “Money, Power, Respect” is the kind of upbeat club banger that is sure to captivate millions all around the world, just like his musical hero did.

Featuring fellow artist Fiend, the up-tempo summer anthem with an urban edge is something with which YungChi said he knows a lot of people will be able to connect. It’s a fun song with such a nice bounce to it that he said it will be impossible to listen to and not want to move. That’s what makes it so ready-made for the clubs, though it’s also a great song for neighborhood barbecues or just going out for a drive.

This is just the latest hit from an artist who has been creating a buzz in the music industry for a little more than a decade. He’s a true artist, embracing multiple different genres and fusing them together into truly original sounds and styles.

“My sound is ridiculous,” he said. “There’s no telling how I’m gonna come. I’m versatile with it. I don’t ever stick to one style. I might have a Chicago rap with a tongue twister, or I might go to Atlanta and go South with it. I like melodies and making good-sounding songs. I just love making music.”

YungChi grew up on the west side of Chicago in the Rockwell Garden projects. He started writing and recording at the age of 12, and started making beats at age 16. That’s when he started doing local shows and writing a lot of new songs. In the years since he has started two companies – 1984 Beats By YungChi and 1984 Entertainment – and he’s had the opportunity to collaborate with some big names in the business, such as Psyde Wynder of the legendary Chicago rap group Psycho Drama, and Afton Shows

Even with all of his success, however, YungChi has remained grounded and continues to emphasize lyrics with content in his music. He wants to create songs that connect with listeners on a deeper level while also giving them something pleasing to listen to. But if he had to choose between the two, he would hope that listeners really take something meaningful away from his songwriting.

“I don’t care if you don’t bounce around and dance to my music,” he said. “I want you to listen and get something out of it. I speak for the struggle. When you get through listening to my music, I hope there was something that I said that really, really touched you.”

Following “Money, Power, Respect,” YungChi said he’s working on another single called “Let Us Be Great,” which should drop this summer. He’s also in the early stages of developing an album that he said will bring “real rap back to the industry.”

YoFiji – Empire

Blog, Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Promo, Videos

YoFiji artist offers yin-and-yang perspective of perfection and organic creation on new EP ‘Knucklehead II: Lotta Vibes’

DALLAS, TX – When you hear of an artist who previously went by the name Genius, you would expect that his music would be elevated above anything else you’ve ever heard. And it’s true that this 20-year-old from the Deep South has already made a name for himself as a perfecter of his craft. He cares about the composition of his work and takes extra time to make sure every painstaking detail is complete before releasing his music to the world. But he’s also an artist who loves to explore the imbalance and imperfections of the world – something he represents through his childhood nickname Knucklehead. His music, therefore – now released under the stage name YoFiji – becomes a kind of yin-and-hang of his life, vacillating between high-class excellence and the more organic raw creations of in-the-moment art.

This juxtaposition of sound and style comes to the forefront on his latest EP, “Knucklehead II: Lotta Vibes.” It’s a project that’s currently available across all streaming platforms, and which has been gaining him some traction among an ever-growing group of fans throughout the U.S.

His standout single is “Empire,” which he describes as one of those organically written songs that just pours out of him as soon as he hears a good beat. It’s a process he likes to do often – putting on a beat and freestyling or writing whatever comes to mind without any real inspiration behind it. Through that process he said listeners get the most raw and real version of him – both as an individual and as an artist.

“It’s just kind of me,” he said. “I just go off the top of my head without any intention of having a story or anything like that. This beat was kind of upbeat and fast and it gave me a feeling of pressure. I just write how listening to the beat makes me feel. I usually come up with the hook first, and if I can find some way to relate the hook to my life then I try to include that.”

YoFiji said he has always liked listening to music, but it wasn’t until a friend introduced him to the production and recording process a couple of years ago that he really became interested in creating songs of his own. When some of his friends heard his first creations, they were impressed and encouraged him to continue making music. He hasn’t looked back since, and said he hopes people will come to appreciate just how much attention he pays to the craft of making music.

“I want to be known for the composition of what I create,” he said. “Not exactly for the song or the lyrics, but for the whole composition. The craft of it. All the elements put together and what that makes. I’m not much different than everybody else out there, but I do work hard at really perfecting the entire composition of whatever I’m creating.”

YoFiji said he has more music on the way later this year, and is excited for fans to check out his current EP. To listen to his music, or to follow him on social media, please visit the following links:

Randy Hannah – The Only 1

Professional balladeer Randy explores lost love with acoustic piano ballad ‘Hands of Time’

ROCHESTER, NY – Music has a power to bring people together – whether for the first time, or through reuniting people who have been apart. This is especially true of love songs, and for New York based balladeer Randy, his love ballad “Hands of Time” – set to be released across all streaming platforms this June – is the kind of song that can lead to healing for a lot of people around the world.

The acoustic piano ballad from this seasoned songwriter and professional musician is told from the point of view of a man who is trying to save his relationship with the woman that he loves. After a bad breakup, she’s left him and he is distraught. He cries himself to sleep because he’s so sorrowful, and he goes into a dream that Randy describes as an almost Wizard of Oz type environment. In this dream the man asks the hands of time to rewind and take him back to a place when the woman was his and things were good between them.

“He believes he can get to the hands of time and convince them to rewind on his behalf,” Randy said. “It’s a forbidden type of thing, almost – but he’s desperate. I’m a balladeer, and this definitely falls into that category. That’s my thing. I don’t believe love or romance is dead. What you have in today’s market is a lot of sex – too many artists tend to get right down to the sex, and the era I came from the romance came before the sex. You wanted to woo a woman into the bed. That’s the gist of my approach musically. I don’t believe chivalry is dead.”

Randy has always been that kind of a songwriter and performer. As a child growing up in the 1980s, he studied a lot of the R&B legends of the day – from Baby Face to Michael Jackson to the Isley Brothers and especially Marvin Gaye. He dug deep into the music, and it wasn’t long before he started writing poems to match the songs he was playing on the piano. And along the way he found a purpose and a motivation to the music he was creating.

“I want to be known for bringing people back together,” he said. “Music is a way to open the door. It’s something that people can use to rekindle their love, or find love for the first time if they’re looking for it.

Randy said “Hands of time” is part of a bigger album that he plans to release later this year. Before that, however, he’s planning to release another single called “Do All Lives Matter” sometime in mid-June.

J.Adams – Paris

Blog, Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Promo, Videos

Smooth vocals from R&B artist J Adams take center stage on new single ‘Paris’

PRATTVILLE, AL – A new slow jam featuring the smooth falsetto stylings of Southern R&B artist Jacolby Adams has hit the airwaves and is gaining major buzz from fans all over the world. “Paris” is a groovy R&B classic set against swinging 808s that perfectly features the sultry vocals of this fast-rising artist from Alabama. His voice is hypnotic and the rhythm lulls the listener in and takes them on a sexy journey that is undeniable.

That’s the kind of music J Adams makes, and it’s the signature style he’s become known for over the years. After years honing his craft and releasing singles to fans for the past decade, J Adams found himself facing 2020 with a lot of tough choices. As he used music to try to navigate his various feelings of confusion and uncertainty, he discovered a desire to reinvent himself and to make commitments that would last the rest of his life. “Paris” is one of the singles that was born from that process.

“At the end of last year I had a transition within myself,” he said. “I wanted to start off with a clean slate. I started thinking about what I wanted as a man and what I wanted in my relationships. This song is a vision of what a man expects from himself as he tries to build a family. It’s about a man giving his wife everything he desires for her. It’s about self-reflection and asking myself, ‘As a man, what am I really trying to accomplish?’ Paris is a place connected with love, and I wanted to tie that whole concept together. There’s a line in the song that says, ‘We’ll use the language of love together in Paris. See us together in Paris.’ That’s basically how it all comes together.”

Originally from historic Selma, Alabama, J Adams currently works out of a home studio called Evan’s Room in Prattville, Alabama. His passion in music started at a young age while riding in the car and hearing timeless songs from the likes of Donell Jones and Joe. His musical ability in production, singing, songwriting and engineering are all self-taught from videos, practical application, forums and trial-and-error. He tends to focus on topics of relationships and the trials of self-realization. His two EPs “Behind Closed Doors” and “Mood AF” have gained him some attention in recent years, and with the release of “Paris” he’s set to explode onto the international scene.

“I want my music to be a form of healing,” he said. “It should be something to help people through difficult situations. I believe there’s a point in every person’s life when they have to try to figure out if what they’re feeling is unique to them or if there are others in the world who feel that way. Music helped encourage me through that time in my life, and that’s what helps me to be more confident and vulnerable in my songs. Some of my messages need to be for other people. Creating art is something that soothes me, and I hope my music can be soothing for others, as well.”

Maddi Madd – On Read

Blog, Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Videos

MADDI MADD returns to über-successful career with new hit single ‘On Read’

AKRON, OH – MADDI MADD is highly regarded as one of the top emcees in all of the Midwest. Hailing from the same hometown and NBA legend Lebron James, this internationally known juggernaut of hip-hop delivers superior metaphors laced with powered street anthems and lyrical content that’s proven time and time again to both inspire and challenge listeners of all ages and demographics. He has been shot but not stopped, imprisoned for his mission, surveilled and trailed, and he has a story that very few have lived to tell.

His latest hit is a song called “On Read,” which is set to drop across all streaming platforms on April 9. It’s the first single off his forthcoming album “Success 2,” which should be released this June. Inspired by an interaction with legendary artist Rihanna (displayed on the cover art for his song), the single is a shout out to all the women of the world who don’t give good guys a chance.

“I sent (Rihanna) a DM and she looked at it and kept it pushing,” MADDI said with a laugh. “She left me on read. There are a lot of women out there we feel like we’d be a good match with and some aren’t taking that chance. They’re looking at the messages and not responding to them. I’m not one of those guys you shouldn’t respond to. You should respond. I have your best interest at heart. I’m not a weirdo just sending you random messages.”

As the first single off “Success 2,” MADDI said “On Read” is the perfect song to introduce a project that will touch on a little bit of everything. Though he’s been in the music industry for more than a decade, he had to take a bit of a hiatus due to circumstances beyond his control. He also lost more than $1 million of money invested into his craft and his own label, Blimpcity Records, due to a federal case that targeted people close to him. In his words, he was “too close to the fire not to get burned.” Those experiences put him in a different mindframe, he said, and directly led to the music he created on “Success 2.”

“I want to do music the way I want to do music,” he said. “Those experiences dampened the way I created music, and I didn’t like that I couldn’t execute my business to the fullest degree. Earlier in my career I had a lot of success. The first project I ever sold was 200,000-plus. I collaborated with a plethora of artists – Jodeci, Flo-Rida, Bizzy Bone from Bone Thugs N Harmony, Rah Digga, The Outsidaz, C-Bo … I was awarded with two five-time multi-platinum plaques for Flo-Rida’s ‘Whistle.’ But it’s been a long, hard road since then. I had to rediscover my fanbase, and with this new project I want people to understand that these are lyrics and this is a real album. It’s not just a bunch of singles slapped together. The subject matter all comes together as one movement. It’s an album full of substance. I’m a lyricist and a storyteller, and I focus on the artform. I’m not your everyday rapper. I’m someone who has depth to his lyrics. I want to bring that back to music, and I want this album to be something people can play 25 years from now.”

“On Read” will be available to stream across all digital platforms starting April 9. MADDI MADD will also be starting in a hip-hop horror film called “Rhyme Slaya” due to be released April 27. To listen to MADDI MADD’s music, or to follow him on social media, please visit the following links:

Yevae – Free Me

International sensation Yevae tackles tough topics with catchy Electro-Pop grooves

SAN FRANCISCO, CA – Electronic-tinged Jazz and Blues riffs with deeply meaningful lyrics and an attractive international sound have been making their way to the world from Yevae for years. The Ukrainian-American singer blends an eclectic mix of mesmerizing vocals, pulsing electronic rhythms and memorable melodies with a message of uplifting positivity. And her latest music is created with a purpose of empowering and helping everyone to realize their strengths, to gain confidence, and to find a sense of independence through music.

Yevaes nine-song album, Unchained” is slated to drop later this year, but five songs from the project have already been released. And now a sixth song, Free Me,” is coming to the world. With its release, this Electro-Pop artist shows how shes using her music to start a conversation about mental health issues, suicide prevention, social justice and womens rights. She has a new way of raising uncomfortable topics and delivering heavy messages with the help of modern dance music. Music lovers and Electronic Dance fans will definitely find her sound and style attractive and want to dive more deeply into her records.

I have a deep and theatrical sound with an electronic mix of music and beats that fuses in the Jazz and Blues techniques of my voice,” Yevae said. I really love Jazz and Blues, but I also really love Electronic music and have wanted to mix those things together for years. Also, all of the lyrics I write actually have meaning. I get so sad when listening to songs on the radio today that make the English language sound very poor. Thats influencing the masses in negative ways. I want to elevate that and put some meaning behind the words Im choosing to use. With Free Me, Im talking about a girl who understands she has been in a dysfunctional relationship for quite a while, and when she realizes how much the relationship has drained her – physically and mentally – she decides its time to get away from it. I want it to be a song that serves as a message to other people who might be going through something like that. I want all of my music to be about empowering people. No matter what youre going through at the moment, theres always a light at the end of the tunnel. Keep pushing. Its OK to feel whatever youre feeling right now, but have hope.

Born and raised in Ukraine, Yevae moved to the U.S. as a young adult. She diligently built a career in the tech industry, but after major life changing event in 2019 she decided to follow her heart and pursue her passion for music. Over the past two years, shes developed her signature style while building an international audience of fans that are eager for more and more music from her. In the coming months, she plans to release another song from her upcoming album called Breathe,” which continues the conversation of mental health.

ANF set to launch onto the international market with powerful new album ‘Who Am I’

Anthony Naylor is an artist who is never gonna quit. It’s been his life motto for as long as he can remember, and it’s the reason he goes by the stage name ANF, which stands for “Ain’t Never Fold.” That go-get-em attitude has helped propel him as a recording artists over the past few years, and it’s the thing that has made him stand out among a crowded marketplace. And today, which the release of his new 12-song album “Who Am I,” he’s set to become more than just an East Coast sensation. Known for his consistent creative styles, ANF’s latest project has 12 tracks that explore his love life, his dreams, and his navigation through different lifestyles that come from success in the industry. “Who Am I” is an appropriately named album in that anyone who listens to the project will definitely found out who ANF is. It’s an introduction of what he’s about to bring to the music game, and it’s a demonstration of his mastery across multiple sounds and styles.

“I’ve got a unique flow,” he said. “I’m not doing all the same shit every other rapper out there is doing today. On this project I’ve got some slow music and some motivational music – all types of stuff. I rap and I sing and I just have a bunch of different styles that are very creative.”

The standout track from the album is “Dirt On My Name,” which features the notorious rapper Rich Homie Quan. It’s the third track on the album and it describes life in ANF’s hometown of Frederick, Maryland. The song talks about the problems he had while growing up there, and how success brought a whole new set of problems.

“It’s about old friends and family and how when I started getting bigger people back home wanted to start hating,” ANF said. “It’s just one of many hits on this album. I think the whole tape is a bunch of radio-ready hits. I’m coming from a place where people don’t really make it out or do this type of thing, and this album shows how I’m trying to make it. I got some vibe music up in there. Some stuff to make you feel good. Some turn up music. At the end of the day I want to be known for creating hit-makers. I make real, organic, soulful, timeless music.”

John Dee – Shake That Ass Girl

Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Promo, Videos

John Dee pushes the envelope with sexual new single ‘Shake That Ass Girl’

ALBANY, NY – Following the success of his last single “In The Club,” East Coast artist John Dee is taking a more sexual and intimate approach with his latest hit “Shake That Ass Girl.” With a bouncy kind of 90s hip-hop vibe, the slightly raunchy and deeply sexual track pushes the envelope in the same way that 2 Live Crew’s hit single “Me So Horny” did for audiences in the late 1980s. That legendary rap group drew controversy and praise in equal parts with their album “We Want Some Pussy,” and in doing so became an international sensation that made a name for themselves during the height of the 1990s hip-hop wave. John Dee hopes to do the same with his latest single.

“I’m a fresh new artist and it’s time for people to spread the word,” he said. “I was able to get in front of so many more people with ‘In The Club,’ and because of that so many more people are getting exposed to my music. I’m getting my name out there in the world, and that’s a big win. I’m trying to get on my grind and push this music and get it in front of more and more people. I’m constantly working on writing my music and perfecting my craft, and I love that people are starting to see that and appreciate it.”

Though John Dee didn’t become serious about his music until age 28, he’s been a lifelong musician and said he traces his music roots back to middle school when he and a cousin would rap together. His cousin is now known as the notorious DJ Young Wise, and John Dee said there are even more musicians in his extended family. “We have it in our blood to do music,” he said.

Over the years John Dee has developed his sound and style, and credits his quality recordings to the fact that he’s a perfectionist and a critic and works tireless hours to hone his sound. He’ll never release a track until he knows it’s as good as it possibly can be. As a fan of old-school hip-hop, he often uses influences of artists such as EPMD, D-Nice and Eric B. & Rakim, among others. He also loves a lot of the new-school sound, and tries to fuse together those eras into something that’s new and original.

John Dee said he’s planning on going back into the studio in the next couple of weeks to put together another single that he hopes to drop this summer. Until then, he’s eager for fans to enjoy “Shake That Ass Girl.”

[New Music] KING P – SLIP N SLIDE | @1KingP

Music

Slip N Slide is a fun vibrant song about being on my grind as I quote, “We rock dem shows but they don’t know, these lonely roads, make my dreams unfold!” and the first part of the hook says it all melodically: “Straight Vibin, I’m shining, we sticking and rolling….” As it is said in Jamaica, “everything irie” that’s the “straight vibin” part; the “I’m shining” part is the grind coming to light and the “sticking and rolling” part is the fun juke dance style of Miami. To sum it all up, I’m having fun while on my grind! Slip N Slide has the essence of Florida, more specific, south Florida, particularly a Miami sound. While on my All or Nothing Tour in Los Angeles, California early 2020 (pre-pandemic), just listening to some beats from producer Rockomal of the rap group Suns of Atliens, he played the early stages of this beat and I loved the sound immediately. I wanted to write about LA vibes which I was able to reference a little but the music sounds, feels and is Miami. I wrote the 3rd verse and completed the recording of the song in Tallahassee, Florida. We filmed the music video in Miami, Florida on Monday, March 29, 2021 and the video is set to premiere on Friday May 28, 2021 which is Memorial Day Weekend.

[NEW MUSIC] NULLI NULL -“EDDIE GUERRERO” | @null_nulli

Music

United Music Mafia Artist, Nulli Null pays Homage to his friend Luis Tovar in his latest contribution “Eddie Guerrero”

Nulli Null started his musical journey in Saint Petersburg, Florida – one of the most violent cities in Florida-while visiting his family in the summer. As a teenager, he started using music as an escape from the harsh realities and eventually found a way of raw expression in songwriting and rapping. Music helped Nulli cope with stress during the difficult times in his life and now he wants to use it as a medium to help others going through mental health issues.

Nulli Null’s “Eddie Guerrero” is influenced by the death of one of his closest friends Luis Tovar. The loyalty of his vatos always respected how they move and value our friendships so to speak. Nulli dedicates the track to him, in the hook, he raps “R.I.P Luey, we were more than migos that’s bro like Chavo!” As in Chavo Guerrero, the brother to the late Eddie Guerrero Sr. “We were more than friends-we used to joke and call him the Latino version of me,” says Nulli. The Florida native wanted to pay homage to Luey and Eddie Guerrero while showing his Latino friends that he appreciated their loyalty and respects how they value their genuine friendship.

“Me and Luey had big plans with this music before he passed away” ~ Nulli Null

Nulli Null’s debut album “Youngin Blues of Betrayal” talks about the opposite of loyalty. On Eddie Guerrero, He displays his “Splangish” flow while comparing his life to Luey’s. He pinpoints the respect that he has for loyal friends and calls out old friends that weren’t as solid. Witty street metaphors can be heard in “Eddie Guerro” referencing the youngins in Saint Pete and how they stay strapped up while road running in them “stolos” (stolen vehicle).

Nulli Null’s “Youngin Blues of Betrayal” is inspired by his personal life. It depicts the true story of a young man learning to confront his trauma-induced insecurities about friends and family while focusing on his desire to grow spiritually. The track “Pourin Liq” was inspired and created after his cousin passed away last year,

With back-to-back hit projects, Nulli Null is rapidly paving his way through the Hip-Hop music scene. Despite being a new artist, Nulli isn’t afraid to take a risk and explore musical themes that other artists think twice before choosing. His smooth vocal delivery and unapologetic expression of emotions into the lyrics make a combination that one can hardly ignore.

Be sure to connect with Nulli Null on social media and digital music platforms.
