Thotti Tim – Dream

New artist Thotti Tim brings spacey, feel-good vibe to the world with new single ‘Dream’

PHILADELPHIA, PA – When Thotti Tim listens to music, he wants it to be something fun that doesn’t require a lot of energy and attention to enjoy. He just wants it to be a vibe. That’s exactly what he’s captured with his latest single “Dream,” which was recently released wide across all streaming platforms. It’s a song that has a nice, spacey atmosphere that fits perfectly alongside Thotti’s deep voice and engaging lyrical content. Produced by Luke4Pres, the song has a “Disney-esque” or “Wonka-ish” vibe to it, Thotti said.

“Anyone listening to it will hear that aspect,” he said. “I wanted to convey a dream – that feeling you have when you wake up from a crazy dream and you try to explain to other people what happened in that dream. When we got in the studio and started messing around with that idea, we had a lot of fun and this is the song that came out of that.”

Thotti said his style is a little different than anyone else in the industry today because he mashes together different tempos or vibes or various other aspects of genres into one song. Having listened to music heavily throughout his life, he’s become somewhat of a music scholar and has an encyclopedic knowledge of different styles of music and artistic influences. When he adds his own unique point of view through songwriting, he comes up with something that’s truly original.

That’s quite a leap for someone who only started making music professionally a few months ago. At age 23, he’s long been a fan of music and has dabbled with recording and producing on the side for years. But it wasn’t until early 2021 that he decided to take it seriously and create music full time. He said his goal is to create a positive community and impact with his music.

“I have always wanted to provide a positive impact on people’s lives,” he said. “When you get home at the end of a hard day, you want to sit back and watch something or listen to a new album or song or something. If I can pass that on to somebody else – that kind of laid-back vibe that puts you at ease – then that’s the most special thing to me. I just want to be able to provide some sort of positive impact. Any joy that people can get from my music is the end goal. I started to make music because it’s hard to find music I like these days – either it’s too generic or too in your face or just ridiculous. I’m going to make music I want to listen to, and if other people like it, too, that’s great!”

Thotti Tim said he has more music ready to drop in the coming months, and that he might release a three-song EP later this summer.

Jillian Ferrara – Losing My Mind

Blog, Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Promo

Small town girl chasing a dream inspires others with introspective new single ‘Losing My Mind’

STATEN ISLAND, NY – A young, 22-year-old new Pop princess is on the rise on the East Coast, and her latest single “Losing My Mind” is set to launch her into international fame. Jillian Ferrara is a new name in the business that has been generating a lot of buzz in recent months with her fresh take on Pop, R&B and Rock.

With touches of inspiration from artists as wide-ranging as Patti Russo, Pat Benatar, Ariana Grande and Britney Spears, this up-and-coming star has a sound that is both pleasing to the ear and progressive in its approach. More than that though, her message is one that is reverberating with millions of people int its drive to inspire people to overcome their obstacles and achieve their dreams. Diagnosed at age 13 with Aspergers Syndrome – which is on the Austism spectrum – as well as bipolar disorder, Ferrara uses her music not only to help cope with the challenges of her life but also to motivate others.

“I’m just a typical girl living in a small part of New York who is just trying to live out a dream,” she said. “I’m trying to see where it goes and where the journey takes me. I’m a very old soul who has liked artists like Bette Midler and Barbara Streisand, but who also likes Queen and Led Zeppelin and Joan Jett and Patti Russo. I want to get people to be inspired, just like I was inspired. I want to show people who have the same disabilities as I do that even though you have these obstacles, you can achieve your dreams and live the lifestyle that you want. There is life beyond your obstacles and downfalls.”

“Losing My Mind” is the most recent of her musical offerings to the world. Written during the time of COVID, it’s a song that Ferrara said is a very personal and transparent look at life during one of the loneliest times of her existence.

“I felt like I was going absolutely insane because we were in lockdown and so many things were happening,” she said. “On top of that, my grandmother was very sick and I have a mental illness that was playing a part and it all just came to a head. I felt like I was losing my mind, but in a sense I wasn’t. So with this song, I kind of just went with the route of saying that it was all in my head, that in reality it was just life hitting me in the face.”

Ferrara admits that the overall tone of the song is a bit dark, and the music video reflects that darkness as it is set in the psych ward of an old-school hospital. She and her backup dancers, Briana Santigate and Chelsea McCloskey, wear old-school nurse’s uniforms against a backdrop that definitely puts viewers into an uncomfortable environment and brings to life the anxiety that Ferrara felt when writing the song. The video was produced by Liam and Oadhan Lynch of Bluelit Productions, with choreography from Nicole Serapiglia and additional acting from Briana Guaragano. The song itself was produced by David Rush.

Ferrara said “Losing My Mind” is just one of many singles she has planned for this year, and that she hopes to put out a four-song EP this summer.

Stu Hustlah – Servin Servin

Blog, Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Promo, Videos

Stu Hustlah serves feel-good vibes with new single, album ‘Servin Servin’

SURPRISES, AZ – Most entrepreneurs around the world know that when you’re in business for yourself, you’re always serving somebody. You could be serving your time, or your attention, or your merchandise, or any number of other things to a wide range of audiences. For Stu Hustlah, that philosophy comes with a high class of customer service and a high class of music. The West Coast artist with a Midwest feel brings an out-of-this-world level of excellence to his unique sound and style, all with an eye for giving fans the best kind of music he can possibly give.

That’s the mentality behind his latest single, “Servin Servin,” which is currently available across all streaming platforms. Self-dubbed as an up-tempo club-ready vibe that fuses Midwest Hip Hop with a hint of a Down South beat, “Servin Servin” is about all the little things it takes to be successful in life and to achieve one’s dreams.

“When you really want something, you usually say it twice,” Stu said of the song title. “When you say it twice, it’s like putting an emphasis on it. That’s the idea behind this song. It has a good meaning to it and a good feel, as well.”

There’s no doubt that Stu Hustlah is passionate about what he does. He’s been making music since middle school, when he dropped his first CD and got some major praise from his community in Fort Wayne, Indiana where he started his career. Since that time, he has developed his sound into what is today his own unique and signature style. He mashes a little bit of everything together – underground, but not hard core. Gangsta Rap but mixed with family vibes. He even has songs that make people cry. And as he has shared those sounds with fans all over the U.S., he has slowly gathered a large following. Today, he’s looking to take that notoriety to the global stage, and “Servin Servin” is just one of many singles with which he hopes to do that.

“My music is all about making people motivated,” he said. “I want to help people get up and do whatever it is they do. Some people wake up and go straight to the gym, or to school, or work, or raise kids, or do nothing, or shoot dice, or sell weed … my music is for everybody. Even if you’re going through some struggles at times, I can relate to people who struggle. I went through some things at times when I was hurting. I have songs about people who have died in my life. I got songs that can make you get up and laugh, or dance, or cry – whatever you want. My music is motivational music for everybody.”

Chevaughno Glaves – Blaze It

Blog, Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Promo, Videos

Jamaican-born songwriter and producer pairs energy with lyricism on lit new track ‘Blaze It’

HARTFORD, CT – Energy and lyricism are a powerful pair that take center stage with every song from Jamaican-born artist Chevaughno Glaves. His latest hit single, “Blaze It” is a perfect example of how adept he is at creating that pairing in ways that are pleasing to the ear. The upbeat vibe is the very definition of energy, and the lyrics display a deft ability to turn a phrase and use strategic wordplay to share his message.

Known for his short one-to-two-minute singles that he strings together into larger projects, Glaves has been making music for the better part of the last 10 years. Born in Jamaica, he came to the U.S. at around age 6 and started getting into Hip Hop when his cousin introduced that genre of music to him. By age 12, he and his cousin were in the basement producing and writing their own songs, and he hasn’t looked back since. Music quickly became his only form of expression and a way for him to stay out of trouble. It even helped him build interest among his classmates in high school for the construction of the school’s first-ever studio.

“My focus in my craft has always been to challenge and outdo myself constantly,” he said. “I never studied music theory or how to count bars – sound just naturally spoke to me. My form of writing is kind of conversing with the listener through sound. Now I combine lyricism with energy, and that has definitely gotten more evolved over the years as I create. With this project, I just want to show my creative ranges and challenge myself to execute them well.”

Glaves said it has only been recently that he’s started incorporating some of his native Jamaican island sound into his music, as well. He’s started to incorporate a lot of Patois (the native language of Jamaica) into his music, and is even writing in Patois for some songs. A lot of the messages he brings through his music are about inspiring others to rise above their station in life and pursue education as that leads to better opportunities in life.

“Where I’m from in St. Elizabeth (Jamaica), you’re grateful and lucky to continue education,” he said. “Getting to come to the U.S. and learn English and master the language is interesting and makes me want to push lyricism to where people can enjoy it. I want to be progressive and new and I want my music to be known for its creativity. One of my goals is to approach music worldwide in terms of being a songwriter who can write and produce for any genre. I know that if I put my mind to it, I can accomplish anything – and I want other people to feel that way when they listen to my music.”

“Blaze It” is currently available across all digital streaming platforms, and will be followed in the coming months with even more singles, Glaves said.

Wahyo – Good Morning

Blog, Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Promo

New artist Wahyo shows natural talent with feel-good album ‘Class of 85’

FLINT, MI – It only takes one or two listens of one of Wahyo’s hit singles to get a feel for this naturally talented young artist’s signature style. It’s a style that’s different than anything anyone else is doing today in the music industry. With a combination of commercial appeal and cutting edge experimentation, Wahyo’s music evokes emotions that make people want to get up and have a good time. His music speaks for itself, and those feel-good vibes are put on full display with his new album “Class of 85,” which is currently available across all streaming platforms.

As a self-made artist, Wahyo takes pride in the fact that this project is one that he did all on his own – from production to writing to rapping and everything in between. It’s an album that shows the world just what he’s capable of as an artist, and many early listeners of his work are comparing him to early J.Cole or Kanye West vibes.

“It’s me expressing my talents to the world,” Wahyo said of the album. “I was born in 1985 and the whole project is about me and how I see the world. I think it’s just a feel-good vibe that makes you appreciate the music in a way that almost anyone can like. It has nice production, nice lyrics, and is well-put-together.”
Wahyo is a rapper and producer from Flint, Michigan who grew up with parents who introduced him to Hip Hop and R&B at a young age. He got his start in music in third grade when he joined the school band. His mother told him that the flute was the easiest instrument to learn, so he began with that. By sixth grade he was writing Raps, and most of his friends were surprised at how good he was. In middle school, he started really exploring his natural affinity for music and started studying artists like Mase and DMX, the latter of whom hails from Yonkers in New York. Wahyo affected DMX’s deep growl so much that his friends started referring to him as Young Yonkers, which eventually evolved into Y-O … which served as the foundation for his stage name today.

Under that moniker, Wahyo has been making hit after hit. The first two singles from his album, “Good Morning” and “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang,” are perfect examples of how his unique sound and style are causing a buzz in the music industry and rapidly gathering him an international fanbase. The first is an autobiographical song that examines some of his life’s experiences while also giving listeners “a piece of me and my soul,” he said.

“It’s drawing back the curtain and letting you get a peek at my life,” he said. “But it’s a feel-good song. So is ‘Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.’ That one has an old-school Hip Hop feel to it. It’s just a dope beat with dope lyrics over it. At the end of the day, I just want my music to be known for quality. I want to be known as an artist who makes amazing, dope vibes that make people feel good – music that people can play for any type of mood they’re having. I want my music to be played in so many different scenarios and with so many different types of feelings that I eventually become a household name.”

[Single] MrWalkinLick ‘Kilos’

Music

MrWalkinLick was born in Miami, Florida. MrWalkinLick grew up in the heart of the City of Miami. He attended several schools before he finally moved in with his mother in North Miami. His father on the other hand was a well respected man in Africa, so much that when he died, his remains were buried in Ode-Itsekiri AKA Big Warri, a city in southern Nigeria.

After settling down in North Miami with his mother, MrWalkinLick was enrolled in North Miami High School which was where he first gained popularity as a rap artist in 2006, particularly for his remix of “Hustlin’” a song by the Hip Hop artist – Rick Ross which he called “Animal”. It was only a matter of time before Curtiss had every school student in Miami and Broward County rapping along to his song. Soon afterwards, he began performing in high schools across North Miami. In 2006, encouraged by how well he was doing on the hip hop scene for a youngster in the industry, MrWalkinLick decided to pursue a rap career full time.

In November 2008, about 2 years after committing to a rap career, MrWalkinLick was signed to the record label Stack Money Entertainment where he still is till date. MrWalkinLick developed an interest in rap music at a very young age. While growing up, he mainly listened to rap artists such as 2 Pac, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony and Slick Rick which greatly influenced his unique voice and rapping style. A rapping style rather unlike Trick Daddy and Jt Money, fellow Miami rap artists. MrWalkinLick once stated that he writes “to the beat” using the instrumentals to form the base of his songs. In June 2018, MrWalkinLick released a single called “Dream”. In that same year, he also collaborated with SMoovement to release an 8 track album titled SMOOVETAPE. MrWalkinLick’s latest single “Splashing on Purpose” was released on February 15th, 2019.

Pennyweather – Cocaine Dreams

Blog, Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Promo, Videos

International producer blends bevvy of sounds for original style on new single ‘Cocaine Dreams’

BRISBANE, AUSTRALIA – Pennyweather is a producer and songwriter from Brisbane, Australia whose talent not only includes crafting infectious songs that straddle the Pop and Indie divide, but who is also known for finding amazing international artists to collaborate with. His latest hit single, “Cocaine Dreams,” a collaboration with Polar Beats, is a perfect example of this one-two punch of artistry. Featuring vocalist Christian Enjel, “Cocaine Dreams” is an ethereal vibe that mixes Hip Hop and Pop elements for a mellow groove ready-made for kicking back and chilling. It’s a song about the euphoria of finding someone who is your soul mate and who promises you the world. Through twists and turns of fate and without any warning whatsoever, that person leaves you and it’s over. The song explores the extreme emotional swings of highs and lows that come with some relationships.

Pennyweather said, “It’s about finding and trusting someone to love, the high of that connection and the feeling of abandonment and isolation when it crumbles through your fingers and turns to dust. The questions, the replaying of conversations, and the desperate attempt to bury the pain and rise again…”
The song, which was released on all streaming platforms at the end of 2020, is a precursor to three new releases Pennyweather has slated for the first half of 2021. He’s been building a steady international audience since he launched his first solo project in April 2020 on which he showcased an ability to master everything from soulful R&B, to minimalist Pop, to good-time grooves that evoke images of artists such as The Wknd, Khalid, Billie Eilish, Post Malone and even Ariana Grande. ROCKDAFUQOUT described his style as “an interesting blend between commercial appeal and indie flare, carving a lane of his own one track at a time.”

“Music is just a burning passion for me,” he said. “I don’t really have any control over it to stop. It’s the first thing I think about in the morning and the last thing I think about at night. I’m trying to channel those energies into something productive and make something of it. As people start to become familiar with my work, they will come to expect the unexpected, always switching up moods and styles and not being scared to move outside the traditional Pop themes of love and sex. At the end of the day, I make well-crafted Pop and Indie songs that people can really get their teeth and ears into.”

Pennyweather said the first of the next three tracks is about a month away from release. It’s called “Killed My Love” and has a definitive Wknd vibe in that it’s dark, sexy, and perfect for late night vibes. Another track called “There With You” will follow shortly after. It’s a song about the ache of missing someone and has more of a Maroon 5 feel to it. The last of the trio of songs he has planned for release in the coming months is “Big, Big Love, which is a Pop and Dance song about finding that special someone who gives you more love than you’ve ever had before.

Kara Griffis – Don’t Let Go

Blog, Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Promo

Singer/Songwriter Kara Griffis uses pure, angelic voice to connect with fans on new single ‘Don’t Let Go’

DALLAS, TX – Kara Griffis has always been a musician … it runs in her blood. Her father and uncle were founding members of The Ghost Riders, a 70s-era Country band that had a well-known jamboree and which cut multiple records over their lifetime. But even with that musical pedigree running through her veins, it wasn’t until a flash of inspiration in 2012 that she first put pen to paper and wrote her first couple of songs. She loved the experience but never fully pursued music as a career until 2020 gave her an opportunity to reflect and fully dive into a career as a singer/songwriter. Out of that process comes a new EP, the first single of which is currently available across all streaming platforms.

“Don’t Let Go” is the debut track from Griffis’ forthcoming project. It’s one of the first two songs she wrote back in 2012, and yet it serves as a great reflection of her life’s experiences in recent years. Showcasing an angelic voice that pairs perfectly against an elegantly simple Country-infused Indie artist vibe, “Don’t Let Go” is a song that many people in the world will be able to relate with in that it explores the missteps one often takes in life and the lessons learned along the way.

“Essentially, it’s a song about spiritual struggle and missteps and hoping you don’t step too far out of bounds in life,” Griffis said. “It’s the title song for the EP, and the overall idea is a petition of God not to let go of me or give up on me. The song itself is very mellow with acoustic guitar and a laid-back, introspective vibe. It’s the second song I ever wrote and still maybe my favorite song.”

Griffis said that songwriting for her is a very personal and raw experience, and when she puts her voice to the words, the effect is a very pure and sweet sound that an ever-widening audience of fans have found pleasing. Griffis showcases a raw, natural talent that isn’t overly produced and evokes thoughts of influences like Alison Kraus, The Weepies, Kacey Musgraves, Kari Jobe and even Taylor Swift. She adeptly weaves words around complicated emotions and delivers songs that resonate with people in truly tangible ways.

“The stronger the emotion is, the more a song flows really quickly out of me,” she said. “A lot of my songs are in the spiritual realm, or about relationships, or dealing with things you struggle with in life – like rejection or messing up on something or disappointment or grief. What’s been surprising to me is how personal they are for other people, as well. There’s some kind of universal meaning to them. I hear a lot of feedback from people saying they’ve found a lot of meaning through my music which is very encouraging because more than anything, I hope my music is known for helping people process through their own struggles and knowing that they aren’t the only people going through that.”

John Dee – In Da Club

Blog, Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Promo, Videos

John Dee brings feel-good vibes to the masses with upbeat hit ‘In Da Club’

ALBANY, NY – A new club-ready hit from artist John Dee is making its way along the East Coast with a bang. Since its release on Dec. 13, “In Da Club” has been on regular rotation in clubs throughout New York and other cities along the Atlantic Coast, and as the buzz has spread, so has the song’s influence. Now set to make a push across the entire U.S., “In Da Club” could be the track that puts John Dee on the international stage in a big way.

Telling the typical tale of a guy who sees a girl at a club and tries to get her to come home with him, “In Da Club” has a Down South type of feel with its Trap-infused beat and its feel-good vibes. It’s the perfect song to showcase John Dee’s original talent and one-of-a-kind sound and style. True to his brand of music, “In Da Club” is about having a good time, “smashing girls,” and just feeling good, John said.

“You don’t hear me talking about flashing money or gang-banging or anything like that with my music,” he said. “My style is different from that. That’s too much of the usual. I’m being unique to myself and I’m not doing what everybody else is doing. I’m all about having a good time.”
Though John Dee didn’t become serious about his music until age 28, he’s been a lifelong musician and said he traces his music roots back to middle school when he and a cousin would rap together. His cousin is now known as the notorious DJ Young Wise, and John Dee said there are even more musicians in his extended family. “We have it in our blood to do music,” he said.

Over the years, John Dee has developed his sound and style and credits his quality recordings to the fact that he’s a perfectionist and a critic and works tireless hours to hone his sound. He’ll never release a track until he knows it’s as good as it possibly can be. As a fan of old-school Hip Hop, he often uses influences of artists such as EPMD, D-Nice and Eric B. & Rakim, among others. He also loves a lot of the new-school sound and tries to fuse together those eras into something that’s new and original.

“More than anything, my music is about people having a good time and enjoying themselves,” he said. “It’s different. It’s not like the normal stuff you hear. My voice is unique and I make feel-good songs and feel-good records. Some songs are for being in the club and partying. Some songs are gangster kind of songs, but they’re always a little bit different. Every record is painting a different picture and every song will be unique and different.”
