Kesh Mula – Message To You

Blog, Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Promo

International artist Kesh Mula drops groovy new single ‘Message to You’

TAMPA, FL – Mix a groovy-talking flow with a mellow and smooth R&B and you get the latest hit single from Florida-based artist Kesh Mula. Known for vibes that are reminiscent of Drake with his singing/rapping combination, this young up-and-coming artist has been making himself known throughout the South for the past few years. Hcreated his own label called Strictly Business Entertainment and uses his platform to work with other local talents – such as producer Mike the Dawn, who produced the new hit single “Message to You”, videographer JMBwho directed the video for the song, amongst others.

The R&B and Hip-Hop mashup of the song creates the perfect foundation for the rapid-fire rapping of Kesh as he bounces his way over the top of some catchy melodies. The song has a nice groove and bounce and shows off this young artist’s signature style in impressive ways.

“It’s a song that was made in a time where I was trying to get back with my ex,” Kesh said. “I had done certain things in our relationship before we broke up that I had to acknowledge that I didn’t take her feelings into consideration. After we broke up, I fell in love with her, real deal. I was trying to find a way to prove that I’m the man she thought I was. My motive was to write her a song. I picked a beat and everything came from my heart and spilled out onto the paper. On Valentine’s Day, I gave it to her, she ended up loving it, but it was too late. Writing my story helped me forgive myself and move on. I realized it was a song that both men and women can relate to, and what better time to release it than Valentine’s weekend?”

Kesh declares that “Message to You” is perfect to showcase his sound and style, which varies from song to song in the way it moves from flows to vibes. And when it comes to the details? He is meticulously choosing everything from the beats to the vocal quality, and not to mention, the energy he brings to create something truly original. And at the end of the day, he hopes his music inspires people to believe in themselves, enjoy life to the fullest and never stop going.

That’s the message behind a second single that’s starting to make the rounds from Kesh. It’s called “There He Go, and like “Message to You,” it features his combination of singing and rapping. Starting with some high-hats and groovy keyboards, the song showcases an interested syncopated rhythm that starts to illustrate the early days of a boy from a small neighborhood in Miami now becoming a man with goals to win big.

Both songs will be featured on the new album “81305” – a combination of his home cities of Tampa (813) and Miami (305) – which was released in December 2020 on all major platforms. The album is packed with 14 catchy songs that tell the story of who he is as an artist and provide people an experience unlike any other. With Colombian roots, Kesh said he takes pride in his ability to rap and sing in both English and Spanish. With Reggaeton being an immense influence over his musical career, Kesh says he’ll eventually come out with double albums in both languages, mixing in some tropical vibes.

I want this album to remind people that they are strong enough to overcome anything in life and to enjoy life to the fullest. We go through ups and downs, but the world is full of beautiful things, people and places,” he said. “And don’t get me wrong, I love the flashy lifestyle as much as the next, but my true passion and happiness comes from giving opportunities to people through my label and helping to make the world a better place by promoting love. I want to display those messages through my music to the world.”

Yolo Ru – Got It On Me

Blog, ME Blog, Music, Promo, Videos

Yolo Ru offers ready-made hit for the summer with new single ‘Got It on Me’

FAYETTEVILLE, NC – Yolo Ru is an artist and former athlete born in Trinidad and Tobago but raised in Fayetteville, North Carolina. His unique brand of music is intended to inspire other people to push and grind – a theme that comes front and center with his latest hit single “Got It on Me.”

Featuring notorious artist Duke Deuce, the single has an aggressive in-your-face feel that’s reminiscent of Lil Jon or Busta Rhymes. The upbeat tone and catchy hooks make it a sure-to-be club hit – something that fans all over the world will be demanding replays of again and again. The song also features Yolo’s brother Koon Ru, who he attributes his music career to because he was the one person in the family who started rapping first.

“I was a football player and ended up losing my scholarship because of legal situations,” Yolo said. “My brother was on house arrest at the time and was always rapping, and I told him when he got locked up I was gonna push the music and build a solid foundation for us to step up on when he got out. We have a good story. We make moves quietly and let the impact be loud. That brother combination is missing in the industry, and we definitely want to represent that.”

Koon Ru was released from prison in 2017 and since that time, the Ru Gang has been making waves in the music industry. They quickly released their debut project, “Blood Brothers” which featured the singles “Smash Hit” and “Rumble” – both of which have hundreds of thousands of streams on digital platforms. They’ve also performed in New York, Florida, Atlanta, California, and their hometown in Trinidad and Tobago. They’ve released two other albums – “Ru Two Times” and “Pinky & Tha Brain” – and Yolo has also released a solo single called “Chasing a Bag,” which also has more than 200,000 streams.

“Got It on Me” is just the next in line of big hits for these brothers. Yolo said he’s excited for fans to hear the single and for it to begin to make the rounds through the clubs during the warmer months of the year as its upbeat vibe is ready-made for having a good time.

“There’s been a lot of sad music coming out lately,” he said. “There’s nothing wrong with that – during the pandemic it’s cool. But now that it’s warming up and we can go outside, we need that upbeat, fun song. This is a club vibe that has a lot of energy and makes you happy. It’s a different energy than what’s going on right now.”

Thief & The Knight – Cool Kid

Blog, Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Promo

Texas Duo Thief & The Knight works with O-Town producers on upbeat new single ‘Cool Kid’

ODESSA, TX – Growing up, best friends Byant and Joe made for an interesting pair. Byant was the ornery one who often got into trouble, and Joe was the straight-as-an-arrow kid who served as his friend’s better conscience. Byant was the devil on Joe’s shoulder. Joe was the angel on Byant’s shoulder. And the thing that bonded them the most growing up was their mutual love of music. Over the years, they started creating new music together and today, they operate under the name Thief & The Knight.

Their latest single “Cool Kid” is the perfect testament to their journey and the high caliber music they’re creating today. Co-produced by Mark Suhonen and Jacob Underwood of the notorious boy band O-Town along with Sean Dalke from the band Half Hearted, the track is the first off an upcoming EP that is sure to put these young artists on the map. “Cool Kid” has a distinct EDM vibe reminiscent of bands like Muse and Mutemath. It features great vocals that reverberate over the top of a bouncy bass track that’s a perfect fit for the clubs. With a mixture of Rock and House music, this nostalgic take on the growing pains of childhood is guaranteed to be in heavy rotation in clubs all over the world in the coming months.

“The cool thing about this track is that the music is fun and jumpy,” Joe said. “At the same time, the lyrical content is nostalgic. It’s ultimately a song about coming from childhood to adulthood. It’s a flashback on our lives, but we feel like anyone can relate to it.”

The two friends first met in fifth grade and immediately connected over 80s hair bands, Rock and Roll and Alt-Rock Ballads. They loved Styx and Metallica, among others, and by sixth grade were recruiting other friends for their first band. Over the years, they’ve developed a process that brings the best of each of their natural gifts to the table. It’s a true collaboration between lyric writing, instrumentals and production.

“We love ballads and epic songs – those songs that give you the goose bumps,” Joe said. “That’s what we’ve always connected to and led to our best writing. All of our music will have a super catchy hook with a great ballad sound, and we try to incorporate a lot of old school sound and mix that with new school.”

“It’s all about the good songwriting,” Bryant said. “It’s music that speaks to you in different times. Sometimes that’s on a fun level, and “Cool Kid” is like that to me. We grew up on Metal and Rock, but our sound has developed over the years. We want to keep that live, raw element with a Pop feel. And one thing we tend to do on all our songs is to touch on different situations and moods.”

Having signed to Pacific Records in 2020, Thief & The Knight said they’ve been working hard to develop a string of singles that they’ll release over the course of this year. “Cool Kid” is just the first of those offerings.

Introducing Shadow ‘2 Real’

Music

Sionte’ Campbell (born September 18, 1992), is a recording artist from Jacksonville, Florida. He was adopted & raised by his grandparents on his father’s side where he came to love & enjoy music. His grandmother (mom) is a minister at a local church where grew up & attended as well as sang in the choir. Outside of listening to gospel, his grandfather (pops) would listen to R&B which greatly captured his attention. He also found a comfort in Jazz while riding with his grandfather on his biological mother’s side. Hip-hop & rap music would come more as he visited cousins, hung out with uncles, watched TV/movies, & visiting his biological mother & two younger brothers who lived in Hinesville, Georgia.

Shadow gained his name originally from hanging with his uncles, biological father, & their friends as a kid, but wouldn’t stick until he was much older. The name resurfaced as it was used as a joke because he was dark-skinned, saying he was like a “shadow” in the picture. As time went on he resented the name, later gaining nicknames like “Too Kool,” “Kool Kat Campbell,” & later combining them to make a Facebook name “Too Real;” it wouldn’t be until 2020 where he decided to add 2 Real to his name after music distributions would add other artist’s music to his & vice versa.

During high school, Shadow was around different groups of people. His biggest influence was Joseph Kate who was killed September 19, 2011. “Ain’t No Love Like My Mama,” recorded in 2011 was his first song, single, & first time behind a mic. After recording three songs from his friend’s closet, working, going to school, & running into some trouble here & there in the streets he decided to join the U.S. Air Force. Not long after joining he linked up with fellow service member & lifetime friend “Jermaine “JayDub” Wadley. The two would go on to create music later releasing “Rummage from the Vault” in 2014, Shadow’s first & JayDub’s 7th mixtape. They would soon go their separate ways & leave music alone. In 2019 while in Africa, Shadow would get back into music after playing around with an app called “BandLab” & creating a song called “Island Wind.” The uproar from a single song pushed him to continue music & dropping his 2nd mixtape “Glitch” as a way of saying he’s back & better than ever. In 2020 he released an R&B album “Canvas” which featured Camo & JayDub, while catching a lot of steam & encouragement in the process. His latest project “No Pressure” with JayDub will be released March 3, 2021.

Daniel Millers Coffee Shop – Cincinnati

Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Promo, Videos

West Coast Folk Rock band Daniel Millers Coffee Shop drops nostalgic new single ‘Cincinnati’

FRIDAY HARBOR, WA – A mixture of sounds within the Folk Rock and Americana realm take center stage on a new single from West Coast artist Daniel Miller who hails from Friday Harbor which is the most northwestern county in the continental USA. “Cincinnati” is a fusion of Rock, Pop, Folk and Indie genres in one perfect nostalgic track. Currently available across all streaming platforms, “Cincinnati” is about a person who moved from the Midwest to the Golden Coast of California to build a new life but finds himself remembering his old life and the things that helped him become who he is today.

“It has a nice story to it that fits right in the Folk/Pop range,” Miller said. “It’s about a guy who loves it in California but knows that he might move back to Cincinnati someday. My style is Folk, Pop and Rock, but more than anything else, I want my music to be known for being good story songs – like Neil Young or Lady Gaga. I make music that has a good message, but sometimes also just make music for fun.”

Miller is a singer and songwriter who is from the Pacific Northwest. “Cincinnati” is just one of some songs he has ready to release this year under the umbrella of “Daniel Miller’s Coffee Shop” – a collective that he said evokes a certain kind of feel when you hear it.

“I think it’s a cool name for a band,” he said. “I’ve owned an antique store, but I’ve never owned a coffee shop. But I love coffee shops, I visit one every morning. And I believe my music gives off a vibe that fits perfectly in that coffee shop environment.”

Miller said he loves performing live even more than recording, and his latest single will be perfect for playing in front of audiences as soon as the quarantine is lifted and live events are open again. Other songs like “Vintage Summer” and “She Wants to be a Rockstar” are also perfect for live audiences, he said, and both will have a music video in coming months. He also worked with DeDe Troit from the Punk Rock band UXA to do a remix of “She Wants to be a Rockstar.”

“I have always loved songwriting and singing, and this is the time to get my songs out there more than I ever have before,” he said. “I’ve also done some acting. I had a small scene with Andy Griffith many years ago and a small part in a Jim Carey movie. But my main passion is recording and doing live performances. I think my music will really resonate with people and I’m excited to get it out there.”

CrazyLuck – On God

New single ‘Money Talk’ from CrazyLuck showcases Midwest sound mixed with East Coast vibes

BOSTON, MA – When Russell Gordon and Tommy Ketsith were kids growing up in Michigan, they both bonded over a love of music. Gordon’s father was a musician who went by the name Lucky, and Tommy, also had family members who were into music. At age 7, Tommy wrote a rap for his friend and Gordon said that’s the moment he chose to pursue music as a career. But Tommy moved away to Massachusetts and the two lost touch.

Fast forward 12 years. Gordon’s father has passed away and he has taken the moniker CrazyLuck as his stage name in honor of his dad. He’s convinced by his sister to move to the East Coast to pursue music. He moved to a town just outside Boston, a mere 30 minutes from where Tommy lives. The two of them haven’t talked for more than 12 years. But almost as if it’s divine providence, the two run into each other one day. The friendship that started when they were kids rekindled immediately, and their shared love of music immediately came to the forefront. Next thing they know they’re in the studio working on music together and their latest single “Money Talk” is the testament to their natural talent.

Currently available across all streaming platforms, “Money Talk” is a wakeup call to the world. With an upbeat vibe and some in-your-face lyrics, CrazyLuck and O.T Tommy bring a song that is gaining some major traction all up and down the East Coast.

“It’s a song about getting people to wake up and understand that you can’t move or do anything without money,” CrazyLuck said. “It’s a get-out-there-and-wake-up kind of song that will encourage people to invest their money and make good decisions.”

The song also showcases the signature style of these two artists – with CrazyLuck’s Midwest flow and delivery, and O.T. Tommy’s catchy hooks and upbeat rhythms. CrazyLuck said Detroit has a whole different swag and sound to it which he brings to the table and combines with other East Coast sounds and Midwest vibes. The two write about anything and everything – from love songs to money to stressful situations and anything else they think people might connect with. In just a few months, they’ve written hundreds of songs that they’re ready to release to the world. 2021 will see many of those singles come to light.

“We want our music to be known for motivation and opening people’s eyes,” O.T. Tommy said. “We’re trying to get people to see that there’s a brighter side to life. The grass is greener sometimes. We’ve done it. So our music is about bettering yourself and always opening your mind. Always looking for a higher road. Never give up on yourself.”

The next single from CrazyLuck and O.T. Tommy will be “New Bag,” an upbeat club banger that also encourages people to hustle in respectable ways. That will join “On God” and “Warrior,” two singles that are already available across all streaming platforms.

M’Zayy – Compete

Blog, Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Promo

M’Zayy Has No Hard Feelings about Crushing Opposition

Remember the old adage about the irresistible force meeting the immovable object? M’Zayy is that irresistible force. And he has yet to encounter anything to hold him in place. With fire in his soul and grit in his gut, M’Zayy treads over all obstacles. Nothing hinders him from honing his craft each day. “I ain’t sittin’ on no couch, bitch,” M’Zayy decrees on “Got It On Me,” the final track on his latest album No Hard Feelings.

“When I get up in the morning, I always try to find something to do,” said M’Zayy, detailing his daily work routine. “Whatever I have to do to invest in myself, I do. It’s slow; it’s like stocks. It takes your money a long time to build up. But once it builds, you get it,” he explained. An athlete in his youth, M’Zayy learned to implement consistency as a life skill. Doubted by peers early in his career, M’Zayy used their shade to fuel his own artistic development. “I’m a quick learner, he said, “I’ve become very consistent, and I’m just now starting to understand the music industry. All the challenges I’ve seen have made me better.”

M’Zayy’s hard focus has returned massive dividends. Not even a year into his recording career, his song “Broken” has accrued over 1 million streams on Soundcloud. “I had that song in my notes,” said M’Zayy. “I memorized it. When I got in front of the mic for the first time, I didn’t even need my phone.” Unfazed, M’Zayy persisted. “That was a 1-take track. Just me, pouring my heart out…”

While music is close to M’Zayy’s heart, business is equally important. Currently majoring in business marketing informs M’Zayy’s artistic expression. “This industry is based off business. It’s all about getting the right connects,” he commented. “It’s all about sales. If you don’t market your music, you don’t make sales.” Having a clear vision of his content, M’Zayy surrounds himself with a dedicated team of professionals. He credits Juranamo Jones of the DMV Rap industry for motivating and influencing him and Dave Harris for helping him produce his music. “I’ve worked with them for a long time,” said M’Zayy “.They send me beats so I can work on them and have rights to them.”

On his latest album No Hard FeelingsM’Zayy takes no prisoners. With stoic perseverance, he levels everything in his path. “I’m constantly trying to drop songs,” M’Zayy said, “I want people to say, ‘look at this kid, working.’ And then I want them to figure out my age and be like, ‘wow, that’s crazy!’” Don’t let his age fool you. M’Zayy isn’t here just for fun. He is dead serious about his music and his business. “I’m ready to face the industry head-on,” he declared. “I want to be that man that walks in and gets shit done. I want to make clear to people that nothing is impossible.”

Oakland based hip hop artist and philanthropist Ron Raxx teams up with rising R&B star Nyasia Chane’l

Music

Ron Raxx releases “Can’t Fake It” featuring New York based R&B Soulstress Nyasia Chane’l

Ron Cooper Jr (known professionally as Ron Raxx, is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter from Oakland CA. He rose to attention in 2017 when he released the video to his hit record “Snakes”. In 2018, he followed up on the success of “Snakes” with the release of his star-studded, debut studio album “Paradox Cliche”, which included guest appearances from: Mistah Fab, Outrageous Karina, Magnolia Chop, J-Diggs, Dubee, J Banks, Dubb20, Simone Mosley, Young Ell and more.

For decades, the great state of California has produced Hip-Hop artists who are more than just musicians, artists such as the late great Eazy-E, Nipsey Hussle; legends such as Snoop Dogg, and E-40 have all leveraged their artistry with their entrepreneurial instincts endeavoring to uplift their communities. Ron Raxx is no different in this regard. With the establishment of his own label, lifestyle, and clothing brand “STICK Squad”, Ron has ventured into music production, event planning, fashion and philanthropic work.

“S.T.I.C.K.” stands for: Stronger Than I Can Komprehend, when discussing the rational for its formation, Ron reflects on the tragic loss of his mother due to suicide when he was just 4 years of age; “It’s my personal belief that all humans have encountered situations to which we didn’t know how we would overcome them but through our faith in something greater albeit “God”, the “Universe” or whatever we find the strength to overcome, and STICK Squad was formed to be a reminder and inspiration to the people that we can overcome any obstacle together.”, says Ron Raxx.

STICK Squad has begun to partner with Carter Block Entertainment (CBE), Restoration for Life Ministries and Food Without Borders; for weekly food drive events every Saturday donating 2500 boxes of food to those in need in Oakland. Beginning in early February as a response to the hardship brought on by the pandemic STICK Squad and CBE plan to continue this endeavor well into the spring and beyond looking to partner with like-minded organizations and expand to more communities throughout the Bay area and greater California.

Real life, pain, love, loss, companionship is what drives Ron Raxx and that is reflected in all of his music. “Can’t Fake It” is a tale about a new romance, discussing how many times the barriers to love are found in the people around you who are purported to be friends or family. Ron’s chronology of a budding romance is all too relatable, the classic “Good girl” choosing the perceived “Bad guy”. As Ron expresses gratitude for the love of his choosing him over the objections of her peers, the soulful musings of Nyasia Chane’l reassures him that their bond is greater than others have the ability to comprehend.

“Can’t Fake It” is a remarkable throwback styled Hip-Hop/Soul ballad with a “now” sound. Too often many complain that today’s music lacks substance and introspection, however Ron Raxx and Nyasia Chane’l are proof that music can still show vulnerability and still be marketable.

Keep an eye out for Ron Raxx as he is well on his way to becoming a household name, and star in this industry.
