Jay Astraeus reaches for the stars with new EP ‘LU$T’

NEW YORK, NY – With a new and creative style, artist and prducer Jay Astraeus is on a mission to change the sound of Hip Hop.

Operating out of New York City, this fast-rising young talent has released his debut EP “LU$T” to high praise from industry insiders and fans along the East Coast. It’s the first of a three-part EP, each with five songs that lives under the umbrella of “LU$T.” According to Jay, it’s a project that not only announces to the world his unique talents but also explores deeper aspects of what it means to be successful and achieve one’s dreams.

“The vibe is just where I was at in terms of my mental state when I first started,” Jay said. “At first, all I could think about was money and women and experimenting with certain things. I looked up to that lifestyle when I started making music and I still do to a certain extent – otherwise, I’d just have a regular job and do music on the side. But I want my music to be heard by a large audience and I want a luxurious lifestyle and the women and all the trappings of that life … the lust-filled lifestyle.”

It’s more than just achieving material wealth and notoriety as an artist, however. Jay said one of the most important things he can do as an artist is connect with others in the world and help them unlock deeper truths about themselves and the feelings they try to navigate day in and day out.

“At the end of the day, I want people to listen to my music and feel something,” he said. “I want them to have an emotional response to it. It doesn’t have to be any one emotion – none of us are only made up of one emotion. I’m not always sad or angry or happy or positive. I’m just a person who feels different emotions, and I want to put that into my music. There aren’t a lot of artists out there who are putting that kind of emotion into their music – they’re just going with whatever will sell. I want to avoid that and be myself and show people my deeper feelings and open up from the heart.”

Ranging from energetic Hip Hop to soothing contemporary R&B swag, Jay’s versatility is unmatched. From a young age, he’s been creating music and over the years, he’s developed a sound that is influenced by both old-school and new-wave sounds. He brings a unique combination of classic emotions with modern flows and productions. Although his rhyme scheme consists of a creative and catchy sound, behind that performance are lyrics full of emotions that few artists today embrace. Jay isn’t afraid to use his music to open up about the struggles of life. While some tracks are fun and uplifting, others provide the lyrical substance many fans today crave.

Putting all his effort and practice into making high-quality music that deserves a place in today’s industry, Jay began releasing his music earlier this year. His breakout track was released in March and has already garnered thousands of plans across streaming platforms. He’s following that up with the release of “LU$T” and has plans to drop more music to complete the three-part EP over the course of the summer.

Golden Gho5t – Run It Up

Industry Spotlight, Music, Videos

Golden Gho5t sparks full range of emotions with innovative new music

DAVISON, MI – Born and raised in Flint, Michigan, Golden Gho5t is an artist who is driven to create music that evokes strong emotions. Captivating and masterfully constructed, his music focuses on the primary emotions of joy, sadness and anger. “I want every track to spark some type of emotion,” he said. “There’s an emotional goal that I’m going for when I’m making these songs.” Happiness is the central feeling of his new single, “Run It Up.”

The artist constructs his songs from solid spoken word, building from one line into the entire finished piece, and his ability to maintain smooth lyricism while producing scorching melodies is exhilarating. Sporting an upbeat, party type vibe, “Run It Up” is catchy and melodic. The track was recorded in Flint, Michigan and released in late April as the lead single to an upcoming album. “Run It Up” is Golden Gho5t’s first song mixed by a new engineer and showcases his significant growth since his previous single, “Infinity” from early last year.

Golden Gho5t (born Albert Vaughn) started getting serious about making music in 2018 after playing around as a hobby rapper on and off after Middle School. While studying as an English major in college, he decided to pursue a music career because it blends the two things he loves most – writing and music. A musical and visual artist, Golden Gho5t’s earliest works were first released on YouTube and later remixed and brought out on all major digital platforms.

Golden Gho5t foreshadowed the release of his upcoming album, “To Whom It May Concern,” quite some time ago. Now that he has honed and perfected his sound, he plans to drop the new album in September. Continuing his purpose to focus on emotion, Golden Gho5t has crafted tracks for the new album that are designed to evoke sadness to make people feel hyped and to relate to angry emotions.

For the artist, putting out “angry” music is an outlet for that particular emotion, like a stress ball is used to eliminate stress. Golden Gho5t grew up with his own anger issues. “When I listen to angry music, it’s not because I want to get angry,” he said. “I listen to angry music because I’m angry myself and I need to get that out.” Followers on social media will have noticed an artist rendition of Golden Gho5t’s demigod persona. That character is bringing the heat and will accompany Golden Gho5t’s angrier music. He is planning to drop such a single before releasing the “To Whom It May Concern” album.

Boogatti500 – Cap Rap

Industry Spotlight, Music, Videos

Surprises await for listeners of Boogatti500’s new album ‘Unstable Mind’

VALDOSTA, GA – You never know what you’re gonna get when you listen to a record from Boogatti500. But if there’s one thing that will always stand out, it’s that this guy is different.

That’s put on full display with his new album “Unstable Mind” which is currently available across all streaming platforms. Fans who listen to it will know right away that this is an artist who isn’t talking about the same things others in the industry do. And it’s that unpredictable nature that helps him stand out from the crowd.

“With my music, there’s always gonna be that air of anticipation,” Boogatti said. “You don’t know what’s coming but you’re ready to find out. This album is perfect for that. I had a lot going on when I was writing it and I wasn’t myself at the time – but I still managed to make great music. It was a time when my mind was unstable, but my music took me to another area and kind of guided me to the next step in my life. This album explores my mindset and thoughts and creativity. And my whole vibe with it is just unstable. In fact, when you listen to it, you might feel like it’s not even the same person from song to song – like multiple personalities. But I did that on purpose because I want people to get multiple images of Boogatti and a variety of different sounds and styles.”

The debut single from the project, “Cap Rap” is an upbeat, rapid-fire delivery of adrenaline that addresses how often Boogatti comes across people who are eager to talk big but never follow it up with action. It’s also a song that explores the unstable mind idea prevalent throughout the entire project.

Boogatti500 has been working hard in the industry for nearly a decade. He first started doing music at age 18 when he and a cousin decided on a whim to purchase a microphone and record some of their freestyles. Though they didn’t take it seriously at first, over time they realized they might be pretty good and eventually started taking the craft seriously. Since then Boogatti has been making music and grinding year after year in hopes of making it big. In fact, his name is an homage to the pinnacle of his dreams.

“I fell in love with the Bugatti car when I was a young age,” he said. “It was love at first sight. Hopefully, one day I’ll be successful enough to get to buy a Bugatti. I’m trying to go hard and get that. And if you’re 500, you’re part of what we got going on. It’s like a number that symbolizes being set apart from anyone else, which is what I want my music to represent. I hope at the end of the day, people will listen to my music and it will put them in a feel-good mood. I want my music to take people away from the things that are going on in their lives and maybe relate to the things that are going on in their lives at the moment. I’m making relatable content and stuff that makes you feel good – stuff you can dance to. I’m more playful and flashy, but I talk about things in life you can connect to in ways that you can enjoy.”

Moh Hood – Me

Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Videos

Rising East Coast artist, MOH Hood draws on deep Hip Hop roots to deliver explosive new EP, “Talk Money”

ORLANDO, FL – Fiery and dynamic songwriter, MOH Hood has Hip Hop in his blood. We all adapt to our surroundings and Hip Hop is the surroundings for MOH Hood. Decades in this game, Hood has been studying all the Hip Hop greats from when they were unknown and underground to after they broke big. “Hip Hop was the fruit of what we all built most of our fashion, to how we spoke to each other, to how we look to each other, to how we shook each other’s hands,” Hood said. “Everything had something to do with Hip Hop.” Prepped and ready to roll, Hood is bringing his expertise, new energy and aggressive sound to the world with the release of his EP, “Talk Money.”

Originally laying down 20 tracks for a bigger mixtape, Hood and his team chose to release the seven-song EP earlier this month as a taste of what is to come. Recorded at Mr. Wes’ CTC Studios in Orlando, Florida, the diverse collection boasts a highly professional sound with clean, crisp vocals. Hood uses sturdy beats and a smooth cadence that any listeners can vibe to. The “Talk Money” EP can be heard on all major digital platforms.

The entire EP is an introduction, but Hood also released a song called “Me” specifically designed to introduce his MOH Hood persona. “It was me, finally understanding it’s on me to do it,” Hood said. “It’s always been me that did it. Nobody’s gonna come out unless I do it, and I’m introducing myself. This is who I am.”

Born Trevor Mays and originally from Newburgh, New York, Hood was in and out of jail from his late teens. After his last incarceration, this high spirited workhorse spearheaded his family’s initiation into entertainment. The family collective, known by the moniker Mili OnHustle, is the platform that the blood relatives stand on, and they have the formula and nucleus to make projects worth talking about.

A newly mastered track, “I Gave Everything” features one of the family artists from his crew. “It’s a really good song! The chorus is heartfelt,” Hood said. “It’s telling my family if I don’t make it back home, I gave everything.” As a man who is ride-or-die loyal, Hood is riding for Mili OnHustle and the babies who come behind them, and the song emotionally conveys who is going to be next if he doesn’t survive the journey. “I Gave Everything” will be dropped as part of the hype for Hood’s next big project, “Talk Money 2.” Recently remastered, this full length album will have at least twelve tracks which are destined to attract more attention.

Hood works closely with his business partner, MOH Mili, who he described as his “twin born different-years counterpart.” MOH Mili, the brand owner of Mili OnHustle, is tasked with spreading the word about the team’s mission “instead of being the bully he was known as,” Hood said. Mili and Hood have teamed up to build Mili OnHustle into an official label, and Hood is already working with emerging new artists in the studio. As the front line warrior for the MOH team, Hood is “like the uncle we gotta listen to because he gon’ give it to you like nobody else” as he put it. Hood’s team is ready and willing to bet on him because he’s taking his family along with him.
