ML Underwood Continues to Reign as a “Boss Playa”

GARY, INDIANA – Hip hop artist and producer ML Underwood is back on the scene and dropping beats like never before with his latest single “Bos$ Playa,” featuring Aya Ito. Racking up more than 3,700 views after just hours of its premiere on YouTube, “Bos$ Playa” is cementing ML Underwood as the boss.

“Millionaires, they make a lot of money, work hard, like to smoke and have a nice drink, and just celebrate success – that is a boss playa. And I’m a boss, I’ve always been a boss playa,” said ML Underwood.

When asked further about his latest single, Underwood explains, “It just lays the groundwork for how a real man proves himself in this world we live in right now. Instead of snitching on people and bringing us down to save themselves or hating on another person, I try to tell people to stay away from things of that nature. It is about being positive really and at the same time being a gangsta.”

While the “Bos$ Playa” video is filled with living the high life as a player, Underwood’s latest single is more than just glitz and glamour. Using LeBron James and the late Kobe Bryant as examples, Underwood said, “They are on the team, and how they lead the team (is) they work together with a team to win, and that’s how I live my life. I’m a boss playa out here in the field of life, and it’s the way you move through it so you can win.”

That mentality of playing to win and win as a team makes Underwood stand out in the industry. However, Underwood is not a newcomer to the music industry. As CEO of the entertainment group MyLife Entertainment, he is a well-known and respected talent manager. From offering motivational speaking, life coaching, and philanthropy, Underwood brings out the best in artists and himself while taking the hip-hop industry to the next highest level.

Looking at Underwood’s lengthy list of accomplishments, one may think he’s always had an easy life – that could not be farther from the truth.

While in prison for five years, Underwood had plenty of time to focus and get his head and mind straight. “I realized I always had the talent and that I was living through other people,” he said. “So I just said, ‘stop living through others and live on my own. I am the artist, and I’ve always had the talent.’”

That revelation set the groundwork for his future success in the studio and community, with The United Prisoner Association, which aims to help inmates turn their lives around and focus on fulfilling their dreams away from crime. Never straying far from his Gary, Indiana roots, Underwood gives back to his community. Now living in the suburbs of Crown Point, Indiana in the famous Doubletree Estates, he’s proving that he is deeply embedded in promoting and uplifting the next generation.

“I use my music to empower the African American community to follow the light and find success in their lives,” he said. “My music is a force that is acquiring worldwide recognition in African American music. My life is serving as a source of inspiration for those who are failing to turn their dreams into reality, and my music is encouraging people to take a stand and fight to live lives exactly the way they want to.”

Ke’lyn is Atlanta’s Next Generation Defining Artist

Videos

Ke’lyn The Artist Bringing more to Hip Hop

Every so often someone breaks into the Hip-Hop industry whose talent and skills go far beyond just dropping a hot 16. Ke’lyn The Artist, or Ke’lyn for short is Atlanta’s next generation defining artist. He’s definitely 1 of those talents to watch out for. Hailing from 1 of the biggest music cities on the map, Atlanta Georgia the atlien doesn’t aspire to fit in with the in-crowd nor follow the masses. With his own unique style and even more signature sound, Ke’lyn the Artist is proving that having your own flavor and not following the trends can work as an independent artist. Sort of taking the ‘text-book artist’ approach with his music, he is on a single release spree to keep growing his fan base, while experimenting with different musical ingredients.

“Music is the only thing that never gets on my nerves” – Ke’lyn the Artist

Ke’lyn The Artist Turns bad deal into Artistry

Ke’lyn signed a deal in 2018. He experienced many tribulations with his music from almost all angles. Things like his Image, expression, releases, poor mixing and mastering, copyrights etc. Instead of giving up, he went on a journey to become a one stop shop with his music. He learned everything from mixing and mastering to copyrights all from YouTube videos and guidance from his manager.

Every day more and more musicians are taking a leap of faith by trusting the process, believing in themselves, and controlling their own music careers as independent artists. With the rise of DIY music upload sites such as Spotify and Soundcloud the results for success are endless. Today you can even control your own marketing and social media presence on in demand platforms such as Instagram, Tik Tok, and Facebook. As of 2020 Rolling Stone reported that independent artists could generate more than $2 Billion in revenue thanks to them being able to take charge of their distribution and marketing. With a strong team behind you the results are limitless. Ke’lyn also has a great support system, consistent manager, and strong work ethic. With a military background and spending some time across seas he is culturally diverse and trained to have a disciplined attitude towards his outcome in life. He has 5 years of military service under his belt and met his manager during basic training. He also has a signature look and works hard to maintain his image and brand.

Ke’lyn The Artist Shuts down New York

Ke’lyn was invited to perform at a competition headlined by The Show Case King in. He, his friends, and manager set out to New York and met with A&Rs, Artist, Photographers, videographers etc. Ke’lyn was one of the last to take the stage but shocked everyone when he did. He performed his single “3 Stacks & Paul Mason”. The crowd went crazy and danced with Ke’lyn for the rest of his time in stage. Ke’lyn won the competion and was rewarded with cash, meetings, & more.

“It was definitely the most fun I’ve had while pursuing music” – Ke’lyn The Artist

For The Love Of Music with Ke’lyn The Artist

He first fell in love with music after hearing a beautiful R&B ballet called ‘Love’ by Musiq Soulchild and has been obsessed with the art of sound ever since. The song inspired him to try out singing as well as helped mold him into the artist he is today. Ke’lyn creates the type of music that resonates with the creatively gifted. It should come as no surprise he’s had very influential artists appreciate his sound including Andre 3000, Teddy Riley, and Killer Mike. In fact, he has done some recording with Teddy Riley’s son who mastered a previous project with him. It’s safe to say Ke’lyn is going to be another big name to watch out for coming out of Atlanta. He has no regrets on anything he has done thus far with his life or music career and is enjoying the direction he is going in with his talent.

Being a part of the military gave him the confidence he has now as a performer. What started out as singing around the base during his time enlisted has evolved into the artist being an all-around extremely talented lyrical rapper and singer. During his time enlisted he was constantly singing to pass the time and once realizing he could sing live in front of people it inspired him to push the bar. Not a stranger to live performances but somewhat of an introvert, when he takes the stage during a show, he uses his nervousness to push through and give it everything he has. His music really resonates with his fans and it’s quite refreshing to see where he is headed next.

Ke’lyn The Artist, Atlanta’s next generation defining artist.

Ke’lyn The Artist finds his teammates

Ke’lyn The Artist is no stranger to negotiations and deals at this point in his career. He has been very vocal about his independent artistry and that he was looking for a team and not sponsors. We’ll I think he’s finally found his home. Ke’lyn recently merged with Jaylan‘s Katherine Valley Records. They were then recruited to LUXX Iconic Records by two private label Owners. Princess Rock – Don’t Sleep

Blog, Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Promo, Videos

15-year-old Princess Rock shows maturity beyond her years with hype new single ‘Don’t Sleep’

PHILADELPHIA, PA – When it comes to balancing classic rap with contemporary musicality, not many artists today can do the job. But one on-the-rise rapper named Princess Rock has already done it.

At only 15-years-old, Princess Rock is etching her own place in rap royalty. Her first single “Doo Wop” demonstrated a flawless ability with natural flow, and has made her one of the young artists to watch on the East Coast. And now with her latest single, “Don’t Sleep,” she’s set to take her talents to the international stage in major ways. With vocals and songwriting prowess like few others in the game, this talented young musician is ready to take the world by storm.

“Don’t Sleep” is the third single from this fast-rising young artist. It’s an energetic, hype song that lets people know who she is and showcases just a small portion of the potential she has to be an international superstar. Audiences who hear the song will see almost immediately that how she carries herself is beyond her years. In a music industry laden with female sex symbols and scathing lyrics, Princess Rock offers a refreshing performance that’s equal parts entertaining and intriguing. With her it’s more in the things she doesn’t endorse and doesn’t say than in the things she does, and that’s intentional. She knows that a lot of times artists can turn people off by what they say. But she’s a young artist who is purposeful with her lyrics and intentional about her presence and reputation.

“Princess Rock fits me because as a young black woman I feel that I’m royalty, and the rock adds an edge to it,” she said. “I make hype music and the styles that I mix with that go perfectly together, but at the end of the day I want to be known for being positive and having good morals. I’m conscious of how I carry myself and my message. All of my music has a message of being confident in who you are. You can achieve anything you put your mind to. It’s going to take hard work, but if you want to do it, you can do it – no matter what you go through.”

That sentiment is the foundation for her latest single. In many ways she’s telling the world not to sleep on her as she’s about to show audiences all around the globe just how great of an artist she is. And as she does so, she encourages others to embrace that kind of confidence and put in the work to show others that they shouldn’t be slept on, either.

The Royaies – Princesa

Blog, Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Videos

Multi-cultural power group The Royaies fuse Latin-inspired R&B with Reggaeton on debut hit single ‘Princesa’

TORONTO, ONTARIO, CANADA – The Royaies are a new and wildly versatile music group based out of Toronto. Comprised of two sets of brothers – Shyon (23) and Axel Kain (19), and Arvin The Poet (20) and Elijah (24) – who are cousins who share the same last name. Having explored music and pursued careers as artists individually for many years, the four came together in 2020 to form a group and are now ready to release their first single “Princesa.”

The Latin-inspired R&B groove is a sexy, slow jam that just feels good. With beautiful harmonies laid over the top of Latin-inspired guitar riffs, the song is immensely enjoyable and sets the perfect mood for a romantic night with a lover. It’s a song that perfectly introduces the group’s talent and versatility to the world, while also offering individual moments that display each member of the group’s individual personality. Arvin the Poet, for instance, has more of a melancholy viewpoint of lost love, whereas Axel offers insight into those butterflies that come when you make eye contact with a beautiful girl across the room. Elijah’s verses are more melodic and represent his softer personality and his ability to connect with listeners through strong emotion. And Shyon’s lyrics showcase a charisma and confidence that helps push the single beyond anything else being played across airwaves today.

“It started off as a love song to all the women in Toronto, but it grew into something that people can connect with worldwide,” Shyon said. “We do it in a unique style – really with multiple different delivery styles and different phrasing and vocals based off each of our own personalities. More than anything we wanted to show with this first song that we can make that Pop, Reggaeton kind of hit. But it does not stop here. We have so much more music that offers completely different vibes that we’ll be releasing soon, as well.”

Shyon and Axel started the journey as artists growing up in the thriving music scene of Toronto, learning from legends like Drake, The Weeknd, PARTYNEXTDOOR, and Roy Woods. About four years ago Arvin the Poet and Elijah moved from the Middle East to Toronto, and in the years since the four have been exploring new sounds and developing their own signature style. They display an impressive versatility born from not only exploring different types of music, but by fully immersing themselves in genres from all around the world. It’s a driving factor in the unique sound and style they bring to the table.

“The throwback influences of the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s can’t be ignored, as well as the value of international inspiration,” Shyon said. “We take great pride in being inspired by different cultures and global artists, as well.”

Today the Royaies have become a group poised to make real noise in the industry. They’re hungry, and their desire to succeed at all levels and walks of life will soon become apparent to an ever-widening global fanbase. Not only do they have the talent to back up their dreams, but they have a relentless drive that won’t allow them to settle for anything less than what they want.

Luke ATME – Starting From The Bottom

Music, Promo, Videos

International star Luke ATME offers transcendent vibes with eclectic new EP ‘DREAMS 4 U’

LONDON, UK – Anyone who has ever seen or heard Luca Tozzi knows that he’s a man with a very eccentric personality. Appropriate, then, that he would adopt the stage name Luke ATME. And it’s under that stage name that he’s been drawing attention from all corners of the world with his standout and original music.

His latest offering to the world is a four-song EP called “DREAMS 4 U.” Set to release before the end of the year, the project is an exploration of astrological escapism as it uses a variety of sounds and styles to bring listeners into another dimension. Inspired by sounds and genres from multiple cultures, the project truly digs deep into the subconscious of audiences and plants dream-like visions that are equal parts entertaining and intriguing. Each of the four songs are different from one another – like different planets of the same galaxy. Luke ATME calls it a “fairytale into another world.”

“At the end of the day it’s transcendent,” he said. “it’s an escape from the reality you’re in.”

The project kicks off with the debut single “Starting From the Bottom,” which went wide across all streaming platforms on Oct. 10. In the song he explores the reality of today versus the experiences of his past, and offers up a close look at Naples as a metaphor of the misunderstood nature of his own life and purpose as a musician.

“Some people love that city, and some people don’t,” he said. “I’m trying to show people that it’s just a humble city, just as I am a humble man who is trying to give a lot of importance to the value of life. Ultimately this is a song that shows the dream of where I’m going to be, and what I can do as an artist. It’s hip-hop in that I rap and sing, but it’s also different than anything anyone has heard before.”

Luke ATME follows that up with “Dreamlife,” which utilizes multi-lingual lyrics of Spanish, English and French set against a Trap and Reggaeton fusion. The third song on the project is “Dame Attención,” which in English means “Give me your attention.” Unlike the other songs on the EP, “Dame Attención” is more of a mellow, chill vibe that features fun acoustic guitar riffs. It’s the perfect song to play on the beach or while hanging out with a group of friends. Luke ATME calls it a “love, escape song that more kind of sexy than any of the others.”

The last song on the EP is “The Greatest Escape,” which is a dance track ready made for the clubs, produced by Persian DJ AFSHINAM. It’s a song that perfectly finalizes the concept with some happy vibes, enhancing the fact that this EP is a trip toward a better and brighter future.

“We’re finally at a time when we can live our lives,” he said. “This shit is almost over. Lets do what we want and make sure we enjoy life, because life is short and we don’t know when it’s going to end.”

YB Linkz – Feanin

Blog, Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Promo, Videos

YB Linkz continues to ride wave of success with hit summer club banger ‘Feanin’

BROOKLYN, NY – A hot new club banger from East Coast artist YB Linkz has been creating quite a buzz throughout New York and expanding regions thanks to its upbeat vibes and sexy sound. “Feanin” is a song that YB describes as “dirty Pop with a Hip-Hop feel.” It’s a song he said feels like a strip club kind of song, but with a twist that includes R&B vibes that make it more smooth than raw. Featuring fellow East Coast artist A. Vinchi, the song serves as a platform for the two artists to display their impressive flow as they bounce back-and-forth with raps that explore their mutual desire for a gorgeous woman in the club.

“Basically we’ve created a concept where we’re both lusting over her,” YB Linkz said. “He’s the player and I’m the smooth guy. He wants to marry her, but I’m just trying to get with her. It’s kind of raunchy in some ways, if you think about it, but the vibe is just a fun club banger. It’s a hit, for sure.”

Originally known by the name Linxy Boi, and then eventually Linkz, today YB Linkz has developed a reputation in the industry as one of the hottest independent artists active around the world. It doesn’t matter who’s track he’s on, he absorbs the vibe and becomes more than merely another collaboration. Working alongside of the some of the biggest names in the industry, YB Linkz has developed a reputation as the go-to guy for hits.

To understand his genius as an artist, YB Linkz is quit to point new fans to his Caribbean roots and a unique sound and style that’s been inspired by artists such as Chris Brown, Rihanna and Busta Rhymez. He also uses inspiration from EDM and other various genres to make a fusion of sound that can only be described as original – or, in his words, “Jumbalaya Flow.”

“I want my music to be big,” he said. “At its purest form its Pop, but less Backstreet Boys and more dirty Pop. I am singing melodies and giving you a story, but It’s not a cookie-cutter kind of sound. I’m putting thought into what I’m creating and I’m speaking with people and giving them great stories. I have that Drake kind of sound, but I had it before Drake was even a thought – I’ve been doing that since the mid-2000s when I first started recording. I had to switch my style up and have done some things differently over the years – recently going to more of a rap style. I like to battle rap, and you can tell that with my flow. But more than anything I’m just going to be me. I cross lyrical content with keep the same flow I’m known for, and I’m Caribbean and I apply that to my music, as well. I’m taking all that with me into the studio and making crazy-ass hits.”
