G Check – Flowers

Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Videos

G Check rides waves of emotions while inspiring others with poignant new album ‘H.A.R.D.’

KINGSTREE, SC – The lyrical genius Keem Reed – AKA G Check – has dropped yet another example of his mastery of music with his latest album “H.A.R.D.” Featuring the hit single “Flowers,” the soon-to-be-released album is a project that feels equal parts introspective and entertaining, while offering audiences a look beyond the music into the heart and soul of this young artist who is poised to become an international superstar.

Inspired by the tragic loss of his son, who was stillborn just a few months ago, the album uses music as therapy, with messages of hope and inspiration in the midst of heartache and loss. The highly emotional project touches on a wide range of feelings and experiences in ways that are sure to connect with listeners from every walk of life. With “Flowers,” for instance, G Check shows the true hip-hop version of his sound by encouraging others to let loved ones know how important they are now instead of waiting until it’s too late. It’s a bit of a departure from his previous hit single, “Big Dreams,” which was featured on his album “March Madness” that dropped earlier this year. On that song G Check blends Country and hip-hop to set the stage for lyrics that inspire others to chase their dreams no matter what challenges might arise.

“I come from a small town you’ve never heard of, but I have a big dream and I gotta keep it up,” G Check said. “If you know me, you know I be going hard. No matter the circumstances, you gotta keep your dream. And don’t take anything for granted along the way. That’s where the idea of ‘Flowers’ came from. Too often we realize how much we love a person after they’re dead instead of appreciating them when they’re alive. So give me my flowers now – tell me how important I am to you now. If a person is important to you, let them know now and acknowledge those things today before it’s too late.”

Having been involved with music in one way or another since he was a young child, G Check said he has always had a passion for art and the craft of music-making. He credits his family – especially his mother – for giving him the biggest inspiration to pursue his dreams. Over the years he has developed a style that stands out from the crowd. His punchlines, metaphors and lyrical cadences leave listeners mesmerized. His wordplay is otherworldly. And his ability to tell a story through vocal pictures is second-to-none.

“There are certain brains in the world that can digest words in a way that gives them the ability to share it with anyone else,” G Check said. “I want to get out there and get people’s attention so that more and more people can digest my words and be inspired through different situations in their lives. I’m painting a picture and putting that song in your brain just like I’m painting it on a tapestry. I want to elevate the way people think and to elevate their spirits. I feel like I deserve to be heard as one of those minds that progresses to the next level. So tune in, and when you hear ‘Oh Lord!’ just know that you’re in for a lyrical blessing.”

Big Steilo – The Things U Do

Blog, Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Videos

Big Steilo offers clarity and perspective to the world with new album ‘Dogpound 2’

LOUIS, MO – Working in the automotive industry for the past few years, St. Louis-based hip-hop artist BigSteilohas seen the very definition of cutthroat business. Currently operating as a manager of car dealerships in St. Louis, while also developing his crafts as an independent recording artist, this young rising star deals with heightened emotions every day of his life. And his outlet for those emotions are through music – which he puts on full display with his latest album “Dogpound 2.” Released across all streaming platforms in August, the project is one that gives fans a deeper look into the life of this car salesman by day and Urban street artist by night – with stories from the streets mixed with uplifting messages that he hopes will inspire others around the world to chase their dreams.

The debut single from the album is a song called “Critical.” It’s a song that he wrote after a particularly difficult day working at the dealership, and the raw honesty of it caught the attention not only of new fans around the city, but also of the owner of his dealership.

“It’s a song about people who tell you they love you to your face, but behind closed doors they hate you,” Big Steilo said. “I sent it to everyone in the auto industry around here – including the owners of the dealerships. The song really touched one of the owners in particular, and he called me after he heard it and said, ‘Why don’t you come work for me.’ I’ve been working with him ever since.”

Big Steilo said he’s been doing music since he was 9, and now at age 26 he’s doing everything he can during the free time that he has to make his dreams of becoming a professional recording artist a reality. It’s the fulfillment of something he said he wanted to do when he was in grade school and his teacher was asking the class what they wanted to be when they grew up.

“I said I wanted to be a rapper,” Big Steilo said. “I’ve done music every day since then. I play multiple instruments and by high school I started getting into writing music and decided to do something with it. I decided to put a video out, so I scraped up $500 to pay a video guy. We shot it at the school and everyone at the school ended up loving it. Things just took off from there. Before graduating I shot another video for my song ‘Who Got The Gas’ and it blew up. I went from being a corny kid writing love songs and poems to this gangster song that was great, and that led me to where I am today.”

More than anything, Big Steilo said he hopes he becomes known for being a great storyteller through his music, while also connect with fans from all walks of life all over the world. He prides himself on being a great lyricist and for offering a transparent look at his own life as he explores the undercurrents of society and culture in ways that provoke listeners to think about things from a different angle.

“If anybody has been through any trials and tribulations, I feel like I should be talking to them,” he said. “I can talk to anybody about anything, and I want to be that voice. I have stepped out beyond that boundary that a lot of people are afraid to to go. I’ve got to try. You only get one shot at this life, so you might as well give it a try. It’s hard as hell, and there are a lot of blood, sweat and tears, but all of those things we go through are things that make us 10 times better.”

Vegas Chips – The Things U Do

Blog, Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music

Reggaeton meets Urban Pop on sexy new Caribbean dance track ‘The Things U Do’

LAS VEGAS, NV – A sexy new Caribbean dance vibe is coming out of Las Vegas thanks to the new sounds and styles of multi-talented artist Vegas Chips. Celebrating the story of a couple in love, Vegas Chips brings a little bit of an Afro-beat with a nice groove on his latest his single “The Things U Do.” Currently available across all streaming platforms, the single is the latest from this fast-rising talent who also owns Vegas Chips Music LLC. It’s the first of many singles to come over the next few months, leading up to a full album sometime in early 2022.

According to Chips, his music stands out from others in the industry today because of how seamlessly he’s able to blend Pop with Urban vibes. Some of his songs might even include a little bit of Rock influences, or various other styles – such as Reggaeton, which is the case of his new single. But in every song fans will be able to catch that signature bassline “Urban” sound.

“I was born and raised in Vegas, and that’s where that sound comes from,” Chips said. “I’ve been playing music since I was a little kid, and by middle school I was playing the drums and starting to get into hip-hop. I realized at the time that there weren’t a lot of options for getting quality beats to rap over, which led me into production. The next thing you know I’m a recording engineer and I have created my own label. We’ve got some new artists and we’ve developed a system where we’re creating good quality music at a decent rate. We’re really trying to bring some artistry and quality to the table.”

The company has continued to build momentum in recent years, thanks in large part to the hard work and consistency that Chips puts forward. It also doesn’t hurt that he has an extremely catchy name – one that most people think might originate from his hometown of Vegas, but in fact is a nickname passed down to him from his grandfather, who was called Chips during his time as a Marine.

“Most people don’t know that Chips is my real first name,” he said. “When people hear that name, or when they listen to my music, I want them to remember me as an overall good person who is giving good music and telling good stories. I don’t get to show that all the time when I’m a producer – and even when I do, I’ve learned that you have to have thick skin in this industry and take the bad with the good. But through all of that I have remained a good person at heart, and my whole purpose in this is to share that inspiration with other people. I want to make music that I love and stay true to myself. We might be going against the grain in a lot of ways, but we believe we can take it far.”

CMC Guapo – Flight Mileage

Blog, Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Promo, Videos

CMC Guapo continues string of hits with latest single ‘Flight Mileage’

DETROIT, MI – CMC Guapo does not rap. Sure, he’s a rapper – one of the standout rappers of the Upper Midwest, in fact. But he does not merely rap. He’s an artist who talks to his people and shares his life experiences. And his new single, “Flight Mileage,” is the exact kind of lifestyle record that is resonating with millions of potential fans all over the world.

Produced by the notorious Michigan J Malcolm, CMC Guapo’s “Flight Mileage” is everything hip-hop fans will recognize about Detroit-influenced music, but with his own unique twist. As he shares the story of a day in his life, CMC Guapo offers an impressive flow and aggressive vibe that not only gets listeners hyped but motivates them to pursue their own aspirations in life.

“It’s a song all about my success and how I’m pursuing this career as a recording artist by traveling all around the world,” he said. “I’ve got a lot of music that features that Detroit vibe. With this one you get a feel-good song that tells the story of my life, but with a ray of sunshine in there.”

Having dealt with past traumas of losing friends, being shot, and seeing the loss of his late ex-manager JB, Guapo pours out all his pain, passion and trauma in his music. But all of that is laced with expression of hope, inspired by the ray of sunshine in his life that is new beautiful daughter.

“I’m 100 percent focused because I can’t fail,” he said. “She needs me.”

CMC Guapo first started on his journey as a recording artist during his freshman year of high school while living in Palmdale, California. He often went back-and-forth from California to Michigan, and his background in foster care led to many expulsions from several schools. But along the way he developed countless relationships with individuals who shared similar dreams of making it in the rap game.

His early inspirations came from both family and friends. He was also inspired by a collective of artists known as the Commission Squad, which released music and performed locally in Detroit. But it wasn’t until he met his friend Von Classic – who was a budding young producer at the time – that he really started developing his own unique sound and style. Together they created something that truly stands out, and people all over Detroit started to take notice. Eventually Guapo was able to link up with hit-maker Helluva (who has credits with Tee Grizzley, Med Thee Stallion, and E-40), and released his heat-seeker record “Trenches.” That project immediately put him on the radar as an artist to watch in Detroit.

Guapo later worked with Grizzley Gang Entertainment and collaborated with artists on their roster alongside Tee Grizzley and Sada Baby. With his buzz and energy growing in the city, Guapo continued to make moves and released a number of records and videos. He hasn’t looked back since, and “Flight Mileage” is only the latest of his hits. He’s ready to follow that up with yet another single called “Paradise,” which is set to drop in the next month. He also plans to release an EP in the first quarter of 2022.

Chelzzz – Poseidon

Blog, Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Promo, Videos

South Florida artist showcases genre-bending sound on latest hit single ‘Poseidon’

MIAMI, FL – Up-and-coming artist Chelzzz is shaping the underground industry while soaring to the top with her recipe of intricate beats, bars for days and a voice that can’t be replicated. This South Florida active, event curator and promoter is not your typical female artist. This lesbian entertainer quite literally bends gender specifics with every release, and her latest single “Poseidon” is no exception.

Born from the very public divorce she’s currently going through, the song is Chelzzz’s attempt to be more vulnerable and give listeners and fans and inside peek at what’s going on in her life. With an aggressive flow of lyrics, Chelzzz encourages listeners of her music to get busy and have a good time, while also showcasing a super versatile style that has been her trademark since bursting onto the scene five years ago.

“I sing and rap, I’m high energy, and yet I can be very relatable, as well,” Chelzzz said. “I’m also a female artist who writes lines that are more provocative toward women. I don’t exploit women like a lot of other artists do. Being a feminine is important, but not a single one of my tracks are the same. I have one song about moving to South Florida and what I’ve gone through. I have another one that was written when all the stimulus checks were dropping. And ‘Poseidon’ is about a relationship. Everything is really different, but most of the time my music is more upbeat and more party stuff.”

Chelzzz has been releasing music as a professional artist since 2016. Serving as the primary visionary behind all her projects, she has quickly become known among industry insiders as an artist who not only delivers great music but also brings high-quality and entertaining videos to the table. Both her writing and visuals create stories that relate to audiences all over the world.

At the beginning of 2021 Chelzzz released her first album “Somehwere In Miami,” inspired by her journey from her hometown of Detroit to Miami. In the album Chelzzz showcases her unique and captivating town, which is a mixture of a Midwest swag and South Florida vibes. She’s been hard at work since that releasing putting together more singles, which she is now ready to release over the course of the next few months.

“I like being different and capitalizing off my own strengths,” she said. “I like switching things up and not being stuck in one box or genre. I think that’s super important for artists, and people as a whole, to see. Don’t let yourself be labeled as one thing or let society dictate who you are. My music shares that message, and more than anything that’s the biggest mark I want to make on the world.”

“Poseidon” is currently available across all streaming platforms. Chelzzz said she plans to follow that with another single called “Monster” sometime in October in anticipation of the Halloween holiday.

Always Wednesday – Without You

Blog, Industry Spotlight, Music, Promo, Videos

Always Wednesday deftly weaves R&B and Emo into Pop vibes with debut EP ‘Amalfi’

TORONTO, CANADA – Two friends from Canada are expanding the boundaries of Pop music with their unique blend of throw-back sound and modern-day vibes. Taking a cue from the monotony that permeated 2020 thanks to social distancing and COVID restrictions, the two friends created the group Always Wednesday, and on Sept. 17 their first project is set to drop worldwide.

“Amalfi” is a three-song EP that bridges Pop with Emo and Punk undertones against themes of isolation and loneliness during the long Canadian winter that was born from the global pandemic. This moody Pop duo of Patrick Hamilton and Matthew Fleming have tapped into something truly special with this project, and as a debut EP it is set to announce their arrival to the global stage in big ways.

“We grew up playing rock music together and have both really liked the Emo music of the early 2000s,” Fleming said. “As we were going through the winter and it was dark and gloomy, we were talking about how we wanted an outlet to express ourselves. Patrick made a comment at one point that while we were in COVID it felt like we were always stuck in the middle of the week – kind of a, ‘Oh, it’s Wednesday again’ idea. That’s where our name came from, and as we started exploring that idea we were reminiscing about a vacation we took with our girlfriends to the Amalfi Coast in Italy. This project came out of that process.”

Fleming went on to say that both artists like the modern R&B sounds currently being circulated in the industry today, and they wanted to incorporate that into their project. Having developed a rapport with each other while playing together in Toronto Indie band Shipley Hollow, the two found it an easy and welcoming process to write songs together. Drawing on new influences of R&B and Pop artists such as Kehlani, Jhene Aiko, and H.E.R., the two friends combined those sounds with their love for Rock and Emo artists such as The Wonder Years and Dance Gavin Dance. They bounced ideas back-and-forth to one another and shared lyric-writing for each of the three songs. Ultimately, however, Hamilton is the main vocalist of the group while Fleming pushes production.

“His influences are different than mine, but we create something new that way,” Hamilton said. “And because we can take criticism from each other so well, it makes it way easier to blend things really well together. There are things that he does musically that I would never think of, but it adds really tasteful flavors to the songs we make. It’s cool to see how everything comes together that way.”

Always Wednesday said they plan to have a release party for their EP in Toronto on Sept. 18, and that they are working on more music in the coming year.

MarleyIBe – SKRT

ME Blog, Music, Videos

From poetry to trap, MarleyIBe announces his arrival with new project ‘Bone’

Music was always Dominik Kadoniya Kelly’s first love, but it was his poetry that first earned him
a reputation. The 26-year-old, who was born in Germany and now lives in the Washington, D.C.
area, gained a huge following on Twitter with his “Bittersweet Tuesdays” poetry that showed a
vulnerable side and built an intimate connection with his audience. “I posted a poem one day
and everybody liked it so I kept posting them but I always liked music,” says Kelly. “After the
poetry got the ball rolling and I built a fanbase I decided to translate that into what I actually
wanted to do with myself. The result? A music artist best known as MarleyIBe who just released
his newest project: Bone, which features 11 tracks with an old-school mixtape feel like the ones
Kelly grew up listening to with skits and hosting by DJs. Kelly wants each of his projects to have
a different vibe and Bone serves as his step out party. “Just an introduction, a different way for
people to view me,” he says. “The next projects won’t sound anything like this.”Bone has more
of a trap rap feel to it and it likely won’t take fans by surprise as much as Kelly’s first tape, which
caught many off guard who only knew Kelly for his poetry. “The music was very different from
what people were expecting and they were surprised by what they heard,” he says. “With this
tape they know more what to expect.”“A lot of people seem to gravitate towards the song
’Skrt’ and I believe that’s because it has a really catchy hook and there’s a chant-like vibe, a
cadence that I do in the song that gives it a chant-like vibe and I think people are attracted to
that,” he says. “It makes them gravitate towards the song as soon as it turns on.”The project’s
third track, “Baby Muva,” features Rico Nasty, who’s signed to Atlantic Records. Overall it’s a
very upbeat project and Kelly strived to create something cohesive, something that blended
together as one. It’s a fun project not meant to be taken too seriously. Kelly considers himself a
dynamic artist and while most of his releases to date feature his rapping ability he’s not just a
hip-hop artist. All of his projects currently in the works sound completely different and his next
release will give off more of an alternative rock and pop vibe. His first full album, still in the
works, will feature more of his poetry. “I grew up in Germany with my father in the military so I
moved around a lot,” Kelly says. “The type of music I grew up listening to wasn’t the same that
most people were influenced by or had the ability to experience. From just music in different
languages to festival type music, people don’t really go outside their comfort zone as far as
what they listened to here and my parents forced me to listen to different types of music
growing up.”Kelly, in particular, was heavily influenced by Tupac as a person and an artist and
says Lil Wayne has been a great inspiration. And Bob Marley – if Kelly’s stage name doesn’t give
it away – has also been a key influence. The MarleyIBe name originated when everybody said
Kelly looked like the legendary reggae artist. “There’s an old Lil Wayne song and he references
somebody else and he says ‘Marley I Be’ talking to the person outside int he studio,” Kelly says.
“I don’t know why, that just always stuck with me. Somebody else I knew blessed me with the
name and decided that should be with me and I’ve rolled with it ever since.”Kelly’s goal as
MarleyIBe is to make music that everybody can listen to. “Maybe this song isn’t for you but I
want to make a song for everybody,” he says.

Paul Morris – Coolest

Blog, Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Videos

Artistry of Paul Morris set to be put on full display with string of single releases leading to full album ‘The Flight’

LOS ANGELES, CA – The full realization of Paul Morris’ artistic masterpiece is about to be unveiled for a global audience. What started with his hit single “No Reverse” at the beginning of the year now continues with “Coolest,” the next in a string of singles set to be released every month from now until July of 2022. And each song comes with an animated video – one playing off the other for a story woven together through song and artistic expression. Ultimately the story will be contained in the album “The Flight,” which will be released at the end of the journey.

Unlike “No Reverse” – which featured a spacey, out-of-this-world vibe – “Coolest” kicks the door open with a unique and original production style that perfectly sets the stage for the music to be featured on “The Flight.” It’s a song that shows the world who he is as an artist and what he’s able to bring to the table as a producer. It also defines him as a person lyrically, and introduces just one of many sounds perfected with the help of Grammy-nominated recording and mixing engineer Bryan Cruz.

“It’s going to be a broad album with different sounds throughout,” Morris said. “There’s definitely a different tempo on this song than the last one, which has a slower tempo and was more political. With this song it’s all me and it’s a party and we’re cruising together. It’s a vibe, and kind of an autobiography, but in a cool way. Ultimately it’s a song about how cool I am and how cool the project is.”

Formerly known as the artist Konchynce, Morris has long been a sought-after producer in the industry. He’s been making music for the better part of the last decade and has had the opportunity to work with many Grammy-nominated producers and engineers. Early in his career he worked with Derrick “Drop” Braxton on his mixtape “The Knowledge.” Drop is a producer perhaps best known for working with Lupe Fiasco on his album “The Cool,” which has received high praise from industry insiders since its release in 2007. Morris said he connected with Drop shortly after Lupe’s album release, and took him under his wing. He’s put in the hard work and honed his sound to be something truly special.

“My music is always about positivity,” he said. “I produce my own music, collaborate with other artists, and just try to make positive, moving music. ‘The Flight’ is about taking things to the next level. That’s really the theme of the whole album – moving to the next level. What the journey and the ride is like to start as an independent artist and becoming a superstar. The incline and taking off – me taking off and going to the next level. I’ve been behind the scenes for a long time, and this is like the takeoff.”

“Coolest” is slated to drop across all streaming platforms on Sept. 17.

Anthony Noah – I’ll See You Later

Blog, Industry Spotlight, Music

Multi-talented artist blends fusion of sounds on fiery new single ‘I’ll See You Later’

ELMIRA, NY – A new love song that expertly blends elements of Pop, Hip-Hop, R&B and more is set to set the world on fire this fall when Anthony Noah releases his hit single “I’ll See You Later.”

Pulled from his own experience of heartbreak and lost love, “I’ll See You Later” explores the depths of relationships in ways that almost anyone around the world will be able to relate. It’s also a song that makes use of Noah ’s eclectic style – a blend of sound and inspiration that comes from a wide range of artists that include Smokey Robinson, Khalid, The Manhattans, Chris Brown, and XXXTentacion. In fact, it’s XXXTentacion’s “Whoa (Mind In Awe)” that served as the first inspiration for Noah ’s new song.

“His song certainly inspired the sound for this single,” Noah said. “Although it’s a song about heartbreak and wanting to stay in a relationship you don’t want to let go of, it has that kind of hip-hop beat to it. It’s 100 percent based on my own personal experience. There was a girl who was going through an extremely rough time and I was someone who was there for her and a support system. It seemed like things were getting better, but it took a turn and from then it was out of my hands and there was nothing I could do about it. So I’m expressing my love and basically saying that regardless of whatever is going on in her life right now I’ll always have that love for her and I’ll have her back.”

Raised by his mother alongside four other brothers, Noah grew up singing in the church choir. Though being in church was his first musical experience, he learned to appreciate the talents of many gifted singers and songwriters. Going back to the days of Sam Cooke, Smokey Robinson and other singers from Motown fame, up to the early 2000s singers, Noah was always inspired by love songs. He learned how to express his heartfelt emotions through the storytelling of his life, while weaving in real-world scenarios that connect with a wide global audience. Although he has been broken-hearted and dealt with loss, depression, anxiety, and fear, the message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ changed everything for him – which he said directly influences the love he expresses in his songs.

“Ultimately I hope I’m known for my faith, and that the love I feel from that is expressed through my music,” he said. “In my genre of music, as a Pop artist, people don’t talk about that a lot. My faith inspires me to have a huge love in my heart for people in general. I know there are people out there feeling the way I felt before, trying to make it through their next day because they’re heartbroken. I know my music can give them a sense that there’s someone else out there who has been through what they’re going through; and my music can help them get through the next day. I bring an R&B and Pop fusion that blends different genres, like hip-hop – my vibe is so unique and so new – but ultimately what sets me apart is my love for people.”

My words paint a picture and relate with others.”

Like those artists he looks up to, he has a rags-to-riches story of rising from the hood and making it as a successful recording artist.
