Who Is C Glizzy?

Blog, Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Promo, Videos

C. Glizzy is a South Florida rapper who made headlines in 2021 after being shot in his eye (Complex, Hip-Hop Dx, Heavy). C Glizzy is also well known for his relationship with the late XXXtentacion, as well for his debut project called Numb the Pain in April 2019. This tragic situation would have ended the average persons career, but Glizzy came back with a new focus on life and a renewed energy with his music. Now, to keep his momentum going, Glizzy preps his new single titled “Six & Glizzy” featuring Foolio. The record and video are available across all digital streaming platforms.

The amount of talent to come out of Florida in recent years has been quite impressive, especially with the assistance of the internet and social media. The distinctive Florida bounce has been hard to miss following the tone set in the 90’s from the likes of Trina and Trick Daddy. Newcomers, such as rap artist C Glizzy who comes from Pompano Beach, Florida, is adding to this soundscape while also bringing a fresh new perspective to the industry.

What’s most impressive about C Glizzy’s artistry is his ability to deliver a sound that is raw and uncut but has fans still bobbing their heads along to it. His most recent project Numb the Pain is a prime example of this, which makes it hard to believe that he’s only been rapping professionally for under three years. He talks about the experience he faced after getting shot in the head, which gave him not only a new focus on life, but a renewed energy for his music. C Glizzy, whose birth name is Christian Moore, draws a lot of inspiration from rappers like DMX, Chief Keef, and 2 Pac who found their own ways of expressing their pain through music.

The young rapper notes the importance of having a plan and following it through. “If you gone be out here in the world, don’t be half stepping,” he explains. “You better have a plan.” His plan to take over the industry is in full motion with him already opening for charting artists like Polo G, Lil Tecca, Smokepurpp, and Lil Mosey. While he’s been able to perform across the nation, Florida is still true to his heart and he’s preparing to release an EP titled Florida Boyz with an intent to bring together the hottest up and coming artists out of Florida.

His new single “Six & Glizzy” featuring Foolio is now available on all DSP’s. Click here to listen and watch the preview below!

[Single] @KaboomHoly ‘Captain Diamond’

Music

With sonic surprises at every turn, Fayetteville artist “Kaboom Holy” is the embodiment of the unnamed space between what currently exists and what could be. With a dynamic, almost volcanic energy, at times it seems music and lyrics serve as mere canvases primed to showcase Holy’s warrior-like charisma and animated vocal takes. With youthful spirit, Kaboom delivers paced lines about street life over grungy Hip-Hop beats and couples them with chant-like hooks that sound heavy-metal adjacent.

Look a bit deeper, and you’ll discover that Holy’s career is one that began over a decade ago. His interests varied, picking up hobbies like skateboarding and dancing. However, from budding as a producer at the age of 13 to release his first self-produced single directly to YouTube in 2011, Kaboom Holy’s passion for music became his main reason and overarching dream. Kaboom even saw group success in creating his now well-known rap group “Party Pack”, alongside high school friends Money2x, SCOE, and SNO Wooh. Unfortunately, in a bend of fate, the teenager’s dream was interrupted by repercussions of the lifestyle he was pursuing behind the music.

Through years of numerous trials and even a federal indictment, 21-year-old Kaboom was acquitted and he returned to pursuing his music career – this time with a transformed outlook and the consideration of a mental illness. Despite having to adapt to these new challenges, the relentless artist was able to formulate a creative team and record label with the moniker XXVI-CMX (pronounced Twenty-Six Nine Ten) to further his position in the industry.

Holy has since continued to employ that iconic, activated sound he developed with Party Pack, effortlessly selling listeners with his street aesthetic and uniquely vibrant energy. Most recently that can be experienced in “Captain Diamond”, his newest single gaining traction on all platforms nationwide. Kaboom Holy is a mosaic of an artist, with each exceptional, bright shard creating an artist time won’t soon forget.

JonPaul Wallace – Love’s Not For Everyone

Blog, Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Promo, Videos

Despite the Title, JonPaul Wallace’s Single, “Love’s Not for Everyone,” Defines Contemporary Pop

DETROIT – After going viral with his rewrite of Lukas Graham’s “7 Years,” JonPaul Wallace has silenced any critics who muttered the phrase, “one-hit-wonder.” While Wallace’s graduation performance of Graham’s hit accumulated more than 20 million views across streaming platforms, Wallace has taken the popularity in stride, focusing on the future.

“Honestly, it was completely unexpected,” said JonPaul Wallace. “I wanted to cover the song, but it says, 20 years, and I was only seventeen at the time. So, I changed up the lyrics to make it more suitable to me.”

With a discography of cover songs, each with his take on it, Wallace is now focusing on songwriting and performing. His latest single, “Love’s Not for Everyone,” displays the Michigan native’s abilities to blend pop and soulful rhythms.

In the slow and heavy melodic vocal tune, Wallace captures the feeling when a relationship ends. Instead of wallowing in the heartache, “Love’s Not for Everyone” is a declaration of acceptance and loneliness that comes after ending a relationship. The ballad which drops in December represents the softer side of Wallace’s contemporary pop style.

“I definitely pull a lot of inspiration from Motown and old soul music and put that in there, especially with a lot of my background vocals and vocal performances,” he explained. “There’s a lot of old soul influence in what I do. It’s something about growing up around Detroit. Soul is ingrained in me.”

Interestingly, Wallace did not write “Love’s Not for Everyone” in just one settling. After spending a few days in Northern Michigan on a solo writing trip, Wallace drove home when inspiration struck. “On my drive home, I was on I-75. I actually have a voice memo of me working on what became the bridge of ‘Love’s Not for Everyone,’” he said.

Even though the bridge was done, he put it aside to work on other songs with faster beats and more dance-like tracks. However, something was nagging at him to finish the piece. So, in typical Wallace style, he stepped away from the up-tempo songs and finished “Love’s Not for Everyone.”

“Lyrically, nothing changed. It was almost like a first try in the studio,” he said, knowing that the song was perfect for him and his fans.

With a finance and marketing degree from Oakland University, Wallace focuses full-time on being a singer, songwriter, and performer. “When I’m on stage, I’m always behind a guitar or piano. I just have a lot of fun on stage. I don’t try to be too heavy. I want to make music that takes you where you can forget about everything for a little while,” he said.

While “Love’s Not for Everyone” is a departure from Wallace’s typical upbeat pop songs, it showcases his versatility and strength as a singer and songwriter. Taking a few cues from the legendary Stevie Wonder and Billie Eilish, Wallace said, “My original music brings a different sound to the table. It’s focused on background vocals in a soulful way. But a lot of the production and melodies come from a modern and contemporary pop-dance style. It’s pretty different from what’s out there now. It’s what I do best.”

State Space – Lanterns of Tomorrow

Blog, Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Promo, Videos

International artist State Space meets listeners at intersection of art and reality

BERLIN, GERMANY – Anyone who has a background in science can tell you that there’s a popular term called “State Space” that refers to a range of possible variables. For Ukraine-born artist Vova Tumasiants, it’s the perfect metaphor of his life and artistry, and it’s the reason why he has adopted the term as his stage name as he embarks on a journey of international attention with his new music.

Trained as an engineer and currently living in Berlin, Germany, State Space has always been a lover of music and uses every spare moment he has to create his own brand of sound. As his name implies, he’s a multi-faceted artist and all-around lover of music who adopts a limitless approach to creation. His body of work to date is impressively unique, diverse, and deeply imaginative. He draws inspiration from a variety of sources – from 90s Brit Rock bands like Oasis and The Verve, to Classic Rock groups like Led Zeppelin and Queen, and even Pop icons Michael Jackson and Justin Timberlake. And through those inspirations he has developed a genre-fluid approach to his own musical creations.

That individuality takes center stage on his new single “Lanterns of Tomorrow,” which is set to release across all streaming platforms in early December. Listeners familiar with Oasis and The Verve will immediately recognize those bands’ influences on State Space with this single. The ethereal EDM opening makes way for a truly alt-rock vibe that’s one part singer/songwriter and one part 90s nostalgia. The song has a mellow groove to it that just feels good – like you’re cruising down the highway on a beautiful autumn day. It’s a song about a guy who keeps chasing his dreams and doesn’t give up. Like lanterns in the night, he sees the hope of a brighter future, even in the midst of his darkness. Ultimately, it’s a song that says, “Tomorrow will be good. Everything you hope to achieve can be realized, if you only keep on trying.”

“I like the warm sound that comes with bringing together the British alt-rock sound and the Pop vibes that I’m such a big fan of,” State Space said. “This song in particular sounds kind of chill – almost bittersweet – but also with that warm kind of vibe that I’m always trying to create. It’s very much an autumnal song, with no hard rock guitar riffs or anything like that. But this is just one example of my music. I don’t have any specific genre that I make music in. I have alt-rock songs, and disco songs, and singer/songwriter songs, and everything in between. My upcoming debut EP will be kind of a funky Pop kind of a vibe with some catchy melodies. And I hope people come to recognize that special approach I’m taking when it comes to making music.”

‘I’m A Hashole’ Reveals the Real Wowashwow

LOS ANGELES – Singer, songwriter, entertainer, activist, and social media influencer are words used to describe Wowashwow, but her latest album, “I’m A Hashole,” reveals the real woman behind the titles.

“This album is a full representation of who I am and not a representation of what I think people want me to be,” she explained.

A combination of hip hop and mainstream pop, the nine-track album slated to be released on Nov. 26 is a creative masterpiece of the artist known for her legendary music videos, performances, and body-shaking beats.

In true Wowashwow style, she describes “I’m A Hashole” as “shit that you can shake your ass off to when you listen to this album. I create music that not only makes me happy, makes me want to dance, and makes me want to feel good, but when someone else listens to it, they can shake their motherf*ckin’ ass.”

The first single off “I’m A Hashole” is “PU$$I Power.” “The whole song is about an attitude and way of life,” she said, describing the song that is not just about female genitalia but a way of life – that is confident, positive, and ready to hustle. “PU$$I is an attitude like if you’re a bad bitch, which can be a woman, man, or gender fluid person.”

The Queen of Making Bops is currently working on the “PU$$I Power” music video, which will be released at the end of 2021 or early 2022. It is sure to be epic!

Switching gears and toning down the tempo, the album single, “Eyes Wide Shut,” pays homage to the South Jersey/Philadelphia native’s rock ‘n roll roots and harkens back to when she was lead singer and guitarist in a punk rock band. Beyond the song’s hard-driving beats and multiple vocal ranges, its message is clear. “It’s a song about letting people know that you’re here and that you cannot push me away from my goals, my dreams, my aspirations, (and) the things that I want. Even with my eyes shut, I can see through all the bullshit, and I keep pushing forward.”

Overall, “I’m A Hashole” is an upbeat hip-hop album representing the best of Wowashwow. Staying true to herself and keeping it real, all the lyrics were all composed by Wowashwow. The album was created using live instrumentation and without autotune. Whether it is booming vocals, freestyling raps, ass shaking jams, “I’m A Hashole” is pure perfection – pure Wowashwow.

As much as Wowashwow loves music, she is an activist for the Cannabis industry and uses her platform to remove the stigma associated with it. Using her trademark sarcasm for the album’s title, nothing is sarcastic about her passion for the Cannabis industry.  In addition to headlining Cannabis conventions and expos, she is a 2022 Orange County Cannabis Award Musician of the Year nominee, an honor she does not take for granted. “I’m as passionate about the Cannabis industry as much as I am about music,” she said.

With roots dedicated to the stoners and the body-positive community, Wowashwow said, “I’m 100% me, and I bring those weird and awkward energies to the stage. There’s this connotation that when I get on stage and I’m just going to stand and be in one single spot, (and) not move around – then I go running across the stage and ten-inch platforms, like Mick Jagger. I have an entire seven-piece live band behind me with dancers and everything. It’s a vibe, and I love it. It’s real music. Honestly, the album’s f*cking fire; it’s a really good album.”

Pretty Tony – My Pocket Got Money

Blog, Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Promo

Pretty Tony, the King of Memphis Hip Hop Returns to His Throne With “My Pocket Got Money”

LOS ANGELES, CA. – Pretty Tony is a legend in the Memphis rap scene. His beats, hooks, and style laid the groundwork for rap music that exploded into mainstream music in the 1990s. The classic rap song “GetBuck” was the theme song for “gettin’ buck” as fans were introduced to Memphis rap – and it was Pretty Tony who wrote, recorded, and produced the megahit.

Currently, Pretty Tony is introducing another generation to his iconic sound with his latest single, “My Pocket Got Money,” which is on fire on streaming platforms.

Inspiration for “My Pocket Got Money” came while Pretty Tony was surfing the internet during the COVID-19 pandemic. “I saw Lil Boosie talking about how much money he was making a month,” explained Pretty Tony. “He is one of my favorite rappers, and he’s talking about all this money. The guy next to me said, ‘he’s got a lot of money.’ And that got me thinking.”

Hearing the comments and thinking about it, Pretty Tony knew he was on to something as he came up with a beat and booked some studio time in LA. “My Pockets Got Money” has re-ignited the reign of the King of Memphis Hip Hop.

“With ‘My Pockets Got Money,’ I just want people to be inspired and let them know, don’t give up on your dream and not be motivated,” Pretty Tony said. “Stay motivated, and you can make it. You just got to believe in yourself and stay focused – and your pocket is going to have a lot of money.”

Even though Pretty Tony is living in California, Memphis hip hop runs through his hooks and beats. Memphis rap has returned to the mainstream with its occasional lo-fi sound and minimal synth melodies, and fans cannot get enough.

Growing up in a house filled with music, Pretty Tony knew he wanted to make his mark in the industry but wanted to do it on his terms, thus creating Memphis rap.

“I knew I wanted to create my own style, and I’m going to go down and history,” he explained. “I knew I was going to make me and my friends famous.”

In fact, it was Pretty Tony and his killer song, GetBuck,” that jumpstarted the careers of many rappers. Every platinum rapper out of Tennessee remixed my song GetBuck,’ and that’s what got their career going. Without Pretty Tony’s “GetBuck, you wouldn’t have Yo Gotti, Project Pat, Young Buck, 3 6 Mafia, or MC Hammer, who sold the first diamond selling CD – 10 million copies, after remixing my song’ GetBuck. These are all facts that you can Google. My song GetBuck was event remixed on the movie Hustle & Flow by Memphis rapper Al Kapone. I am the real first king of Memphis.

In addition to the signature Memphis rap groove, Pretty Tony is well-known for his dance moves with swinging elbows and deep steps on stage while performing. “I’m a little bit wild and a little bit different, and it caught fire,” he recalled.

While many mainstream rap artists have used his beats and licks, Pretty Tony has not received credit for it, but that has not stopped him. “I’m the rapper that they go to when they want to go platinum,” Pretty Tony quipped. “I write my own music, and I don’t use samples. Everything that you hear from me is authentic Pretty Tony.”

In addition to writing, rapping, and producing, Pretty Tony is an entrepreneur with his own record label, Verse Drop LLC, and a clothing apparel line. But his music continues to define this southern rapper. With nearly 500,000 Spotify streams for his latest single, Pretty Tony is taking off again, proving that being over 50 does not matter when you are the first King of Memphis Hip Hop.

“I’m back, and I’m in the rap game,” promised Pretty Tony.
