Multigenerational musician Artist Anderson releases timely new album ‘Free’

LAS VEGAS, NV – Artist Anderson, born Marlon Anderson, is the kind of inspirational musician whose unique sound and style is not only entertaining but also motivating. In a day and age when so much of the world is confusing and filled with despair, Artist Anderson is creating music that not only influences people to make better life decisions but also motivates them to choose hope.

His new album, “Free” dropped on July 31st, and its 10 songs explore themes of emotional and spiritual freedom. It’s a message that he uses to inspire people every day of his life as founder and director of the nonprofit organization The Renaissance Movement (TRM). Founded in 2018, the organization exists to build community and expand culture through faith, love, unity and fellowship. TRM offers programs to communities all over the world that teach, train and empower people through a wide variety of disciplines – physically, mentally, spiritually, emotionally, and even practically with things like home stabilization and vocational skills.

Artist says his new album “Free” is designed to draw attention to the rooted issues hidden deep in us as a human race. It gives a soundtrack to TRM as a nonprofit organization while also standing alone as a spark of inspiration for anyone who listens.

“No one is really free until they’re mentally free,” he said. “On this album, I talk about helping people heal from hurts and pains and unforgiveness. It’s about healing overall in general and understanding that in order to be really free, we have to be honest about our mental oppression. You, along with God are the only onewho can really set you free.”

Artist Anderson comes from a storied family pedigree of musicians and has seen success as a musician in years past. His father, Robert James Anderson III, was a singer, musician and songwriter, as was his mother Sharon Anderson. Artist got his start in music by singing with his dad and brother, Branden Anderson, who now serves as his manager. Collectively, they were known as Bob Anderson and Sons. The group became very popular in their hometown of Richmond, Virginia, appearing on television shows and singing every week at various churches across the area.

Later, Artist would be one of the founding members of the international and award-winning group G.I. They went on to have numerous Billboard radio hits and top albums. In 2010, Artist left the group to pursue a career as a pastor, but five years later, he returned to music and began his solo career. His debut EP “Life x Love x Music” in 2016 received wide acclaim, and his single “I’m Blakkk” released in 2019 has seen millions of streams.

Today, Artist said he wants to create a sound and style that is unique from anything else on the market while also serving as inspiration to help heal communities and expand culture.

“What I talk about in conjunction with the type of sound I create doesn’t usually go together,” he said. “My music catches the ear and has a message that touches people. I’m unique, but I also have a mixture of a lot of what’s going on right now in music. I’ve recreated myself and my sound is branded from all areas of my life – Hip Hop, Rap, Conscious, Gospel and so much more. At the end of the day, I want my music to be known for one thing: lives being changed and people becoming whole. Healing is my brand and healing is my message.”

Mr. Talkbox parlays success with biggest names in the industry into fifth solo album ‘Playlist’

NASHVILLE, TN – It’s time to start paying attention to the artist you don’t know you know. You’ve been listening to him for years … you just didn’t realize you knew it was him.

His name is Mr. Talkbox and he’s been featured on some of the biggest singles in history. Take Bruno Mars’ “24K Magic” – Mr. Talkbox performed the iconic intro to the song. It’s a song that has been streamed more than a billion times. There’s also Kendrick Lamar’s “Loyalty” featuring Rhianna, or the Cardi B/Bruno Mars collaboration “Please Me,” or T-Pain’s “May I.” The list goes on and on. He’s worked with contemporary Christian artists like Toby Mac, Cece Winans and Andy MineoHe’s worked with Jazz & Funk Greats like Nathan East & Bootsy CollinsHe has Grammy awards and Dove awards and has been on global tours with the biggest names in music. And yet he has flown under the radar for far too long.

All that is about to change with his new album “Playlist,” set to debut on Sept. 25. The 15-song project takes a three-prong approach to displaying Mr. Talkbox’s unique sound and style, with three separate playlists showcasing his highly original music.

“This album embodies all the vibes you feel on the weekend,” Mr. Talkbox said. “Friday’s Playlist is the post-work dance break that we all need. Saturday’s Playlist has the R&B and Hip Hop tracks that make you wanna cruise with the top down. While Sunday’s Playlist takes you to a hip church service that encourages the soul. It’s an album that’ll make you want to dance a bit but also feed your soul, and the way we do it with the Talkbox is pretty cool.”

Pre-orders for the album will begin on Aug. 28 and run throughout the course of the next month. Not only is the project one that will put the Talkbox instrument on full display, as well as showcase his mastery of that sound, but it’s also an album that will feature a wide range of other well-known artists. Included on “Playlist” will be features from: T-Pain, Andy Mineo, BJ the Chicago Kid, Avery*Sunshine, PJ Morton of Maroon 5, J Moss, Shirley Murdock of the original Roger and Zapp, John Cooper of Skillet, Cory Wong guitarist from Vulfpeck, Mono Neon who was the last bass player for Prince, Shelby 5, and his own family members who are recording artists in their own right – his mother, Sharon Chambers, and his daughter and son Yaubryon and Lil Byron.

The debut single from the album is already available for people to listen to. It’s called “Hold on Change is Coming featuring Shelby 5. It is a remake of the award winning Sounds of Blackness featuring the Legendary Late Great Roger Troutman. Shelby 5 uses their pop styling to partner with Mr. Talkbox to pay homage to Roger Troutman who is perhaps best known for his work with Tupac and Dr. Dre on the song “California Love.”

I have hit songs in every genre and I want ‘Playlist’ to mirror that,” Mr. Talkbox said. “My career has been built on this instrument, and I’ve been fortunate to appear on so many artists’ records. I’ve won Grammys and Dove awards and toured with the biggest names in the industry, but I’m still the artist that you don’t know you know. You’ve been listening to me but you didn’t know it was me. This album will change that for sure.”

Jessie Tylre Williams – Breathe

Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Promo, Videos

Canadian Country/Pop artist Jessie Tylre Williams releases timely single ‘Breathe’

MEDICINE HAT, CANADA – A song that’s perfect for the times is hitting the mass market from award-winning Country and Pop artist Jessie Tylre Williams. The song is called “Breathe” and this Canadian songbird said there couldn’t have been a better time in her career to release this single than in 2020 when the world is facing so many unimaginable hardships.

It’s perfect timing for what we’re going through globally,” Williams said. “We can’t control what’s going on in the world, but we can control what’s going in our own lives just by breathing. This song is about getting through each moment as it comes – just keep breathing and moving on. We only get one chance at life, so take it to the limit and reach for the sky and don’t wake up one day and say you didn’t try.”

The mid-tempo Country track is laced with Pop vibes and perfectly suits her soaring vocals. This Manitoba-born songstress now lives in Alberta and has been entertaining the masses with her voice for most of her life. Though she followed a gypsy lifestyle from a young age, music has always been the thing that has grounded her. As a passionate singer and songwriter, Jessie preaches the potential of sound and voice as a healing medium and gains her musical influence through lending a hand to help others that need support during their own hardships.

“I feel so blessed to be able to use music as a way to connect with people and help them through their hardships with hopes that I can inspire others along the way,” she said. “We must never stop believing. Where there is life, there truly is hope. Music is such a powerful force and it can really heal and transform lives.”

Over the course of her career, Williams has become known for a strong ability to pair authentic acoustic sounds and melodies with a lilting and distinct voice. In both her writing and live performances, Williams demonstrates her raw and inspiring experience of survival and determination, which drives her to create original, empowering material. Each song, like a separate chapter of her life, unfolds a story of continual hope and courage, moving listeners through her lyrical exposure of emotion.

“At the end of the day, I just want to resonate with my fans and I want to connect with people soulfully through my music, helping them get through each moment, one breath at a time.”

If the global charts are any indication, she’s been connecting with quite a few people around the globe. Within only the first week of the single’s release, Williams was hitting the tops of the charts. She charted No. 50 with the New Music Weekly Country Music list, as well as No. 23 and No. 25 respectively, on two other lists. And most impressively, she charted No. 1 with Country Radio’s Most Added list!

Renatasya – If Only

Blog, Industry Spotlight, Music, Promo

Seattle crooner showcases soulful vocals with smooth summer single ‘If Only’

SEATTLE, WA – The soulful sounds of the hot new single from Seattle’s Renatasya creates the perfect song for the summer. One part R&B, one part Jazz, and all parts Swag, “If Only” is the perfect display of Renatasya’s beautiful vocals – the kind of signature sound that pierces through the crowded world of today’s music industry. From the opening bars of the synthesizer – which takes the listener into an almost movie-soundtrack-type vibe to the final chords of her last notes – Renatasya takes fans on a journey that inspires others to leave behind hardships and start anew.

“It’s a song about leaving behind a toxic relationship and turning over a new leaf,” she said. “I’m sharing my story of past loves, dreams and passion for music. But more than anything, it’s about being in a toxic relationship and having the courage to leave and move on. It’s relatable to everyone because we all go through ups and downs when it comes to romantic relationships. Sometimes we’re blinded by what we want and we don’t try very hard to overcome those hard relationships. I’ve been able to find my own closure from an upset relationship, and my music helped me to do that. It’s not bittersweet – I can enjoy it and enjoy this new path.”

The upbeat single from this fast-rising West Coast artist is the kind of debut that makes people all over the world sit up and pay attention. Having been a songwriter based in Seattle for the past few years, Renatasya has put together quite a resume of collaborations and performances. Her music can be described as a combination of Soul, R&B, Jazz and modern Pop. And with her background of playing with bands and jazz musicians, she’s primed to make a big push into the industry with her original music.

“I don’t say no to any opportunities and I love to explore new sounds and vibes,” she said. “I like the 80s in particular, especially the disco kind of vibes of that time period. But I’m also into contemporary Pop and R&B, and most people would describe my vocals as Neo-Soul. I’m very soulful and I love to mix all those things together while bringing in some Jazz. At the end of the day, I want to be known not just as an artist but as someone who is appreciated for my boldness in exploring different sounds. My music is an extension of who I am. I’m an underdog – a person who has dealt with low self-esteem and self-doubt, but who is using her love for music to connect with people. So I hope people appreciate me for who I am and see the light I’m trying to bring to the world.”

“If Only” is currently available across all streaming platforms. It features Seattle artist David Heavens as well as producer Juhan Ongbrian.

Defoe – Black Metal Romance

Blog, Industry Spotlight, Music, Promo, Videos

Defoe captures naïve spirit of young love with captivating single ‘Black Metal Romance’

LOS ANGELES, CA – Anyone who listens to the new single “Black Metal Romance” – with its sweeping Spaghetti Western guitars and horns accompanied by soaring vocals from West Coast artist Defoe – will want to know who this bold, strong and empowered woman is. Her sultry, wispy vocals are inviting and tell a story in intriguing and engaging ways that are impossible to stop listening to. Pairing throwback vibes that are immediately reminiscent of the late Ennio Merricone with slow jazzy vocals, Defoe has created a song that is equal parts timeless and modern.

Coming off the heels of another successful release – “Something’s Happening” which currently has more than 1 million views – Defoe is a new voice in the industry who demands attention. She’s been a producer and engineer for more than a decade and has only recently ventured out as a solo artist. Wife of The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus’ front man Ronnie Winter, Defoe has navigated her way through a male-dominated landscape to make a name for herself not only as a sought-after vocalist but also as a prolific songwriter and one of the best producers and engineers in the business. She was the lead vocal engineer on The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus’ album “4” and she was hired by independent film director Dylan Reynolds to score his motion picture “420 Massacre” which was released in 2018. That same year, she co-produced The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus’ “The Awakening” with her husband, which was critically acclaimed. Furthermore, the single “On Becoming Willing” spent 12 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Christian Rock Radio charts.

In July of 2019, Defoe released her album “Too Soon to Cry” which is an amalgamation of all her life stories espoused from the perspective of a woman who has made her way and succeeded in the field of studio engineering and recording. “Black Metal Romance” is one of the standout singles from that project, and Defoe said the upcoming music video release for the song is something long-anticipated by her fans.

“Every girl and boy go through a space where they’re hopeless romantics, and that’s what this song is about,” she said. “I wanted it to sound innocent and pure and super romantic. When you’re in that kind of a place in your life, you make some stupid decisions. You might date a boy who isn’t totally into you and then get hurt. I really wanted to capture that naïve spirit – that love is blind and you go for it and do anything for a person. In some ways I’m mocking that because I put that part of me to rest a long time ago. But it’s something we all have to go through – that first big heartbreak after being young and naïve and in love and totally misguided while you’re on that little cloud. This song captures what that cloud feels like, as if the person singing it is swept away and not grounded in reality at all.”

Defoe worked closely with her husband to create the video and then turned to up-and-coming videographer Joey Danger to direct the project. They’ve spent the past six months working in the project, creating a story of love told through the eyes of a female robot created by a man in the future. Something happens to the wiring when she’s first created – an anomaly – and she begins to experience love when none of the other robots do. She falls in love with her maker and daydreams of being swept away together. Her naivete is broken when he starts putting her in a box alongside the hundreds of other robots, and she realizes she’s nothing special. As he walks away, the black romance is realized with her devastated face alongside all of these other robots who are clueless.

Defoe said the video is compelling and progressive and perfectly captures who she is as an artist. She said she’s proud to be a Filipino-American musician who is breaking ground in the industry while paying homage to the greats who have come before her. She’ll continue that journey with new music releases over the course of the rest of the year as she works on a new album to be released in early 2021.

Alto – All Over You

Music, Promo

Powerful performer captures energy from stage,
infuses it into House Pop track ‘All Over You’

LONDON, ENGLAND – One of the most exciting things about the music landscape today is the number of new artists who are fusing together multiple genres to create original new sounds. Chris “Alto” Daniels is one such artist whose Jazz training as an alto sax player pairs in unexpectedly amazing ways with his journey as a House musician over the past few years. The result is three new singles that are guaranteed to be immediate staples in clubs and parties all over the world.

Alto’s sound is like none other. At once familiar with its energetic rhythms and upbeat vibes that demand listeners to dance, it’s also nuanced with its catchy saxophone hooks and soaring tenor vocals. With silky smooth vocals soaring over those dance-heavy tracks in ways that pair perfectly with his mastery of the saxophone. It’s a sound he described as House Pop, with the hook of the sax making it truly standout from anything else out there today.

“It’s directed more to the party side of things,” he said. “I’ve been playing sax over every type of music for a while now. I do about 200 gigs a year. I also studied Jazz in college and I love all sorts of genres. One of my greatest loves is being on a stage and hitting those high notes on a sax. It gives me goosebumps, and everybody else, too. I love that feeling when you’re elevating an audience. That’s what these songs will be – songs for parties and making everyone happy.”

The first of the three singles to be released over the next few months is a song called “All Over You.” It’s the first tune Alto ever wrote, and in the months since the pandemic hit, he said he’s found it a blessing to be able to be home and pour his attention into perfecting this single before distributing it to the world. It’s a song about a boy meeting a girl and getting attached to that person.

“Once you meet that person, you can’t live without them,” he said. “I’m in night clubs all the time and I have seen that scenario time after time when someone meets someone else and they connect immediately. But it’s an idea that can fit into all kinds of other situations. It’s one of those summer tracks – just happy, upbeat stuff. I want to eventually be able to play it in summer venues and daytime events like festivals and parties. I’ve done some festivals in Brazil and the Dominican Republic, and I love the energy and the stuff that happens at those kinds of events. I try to recreate in my music what happens on the stage, and I think people will see with each new song I release that I bring more and more energy and it just builds.”

Ultimately, Alto said he hopes to become an artist who is known for bringing attention back to the music. Some of his favorite artists are legends like Pink Floyd and Queen who could make people pay attention to a single song for 10-to-12 minutes, or longer. So much of today’s music is less than three minutes long, and he said his goal is to build an audience that will follow him on a journey that integrates longer “epic sax solos” across Pop House songs that could keep them dancing for hours on end.

Star Money – Fix It

Industry Spotlight, Music, Promo

Versatile Rapper, Star Money Delivers Music And More Despite Adversity

JOLIET, IL – Songwriter, rapper and entrepreneur, Star Money brings his savage style of Rap straight out of the trenches. His listeners experience genuine testimony about where Star Money comes from. The rhyme, rhythm and chemistry of his flow connect with listeners as he speaks about the struggle.

Chosen from a field of 19 competitors judged off stage performance, crowd reaction and social media response, Star Money signed with Ice Wata Records in April of 2019. He had started out on his own independent label, Star Money Gang Entertainment, but with Ice Wata now working with Empire Records, Star Money is enjoying a two for one!

The first single of this new distribution deal is called “Fix It” (featuring Mud Dollaz). Released in mid June, the track talks about bouncing back, readjusting and rebuilding from life’s challenges.

Star Money’s songs relate to one another, but each has its own unique feel. “Stick Out,” another song released recently, features Chicago rapper Memo 600. Doing well, they rap about watching out for and defending themselves against the opposition.

A prolific creator, Star Money has dropped several other singles this year, including “Bando” which talks about staying focused and hustling to make money from nothing, and “Cash.” Starting fresh after his release from prison, Star Money was not looking for handouts, and “Cash” talks about getting the money he needed through his own efforts.

Although he didn’t get serious about his music career until he was 18, Star Money has been rapping since he was 10 or 11 years old. At that time, an older man (Reggie Loc) from his neighborhood put out an album and became Star Money’s role model. A major influence on Star Money’s career, Reggie passed away in 2015.

Star Money is strategizing globally through a number of enterprises. Besides having his own record label, he has a successful jewelry business, Star Money Diamonds x Grills. Featuring custom chains, grills, rings, watches and bracelets that are a popular aspect of Hip Hop culture, Star Money also initiates music collaborations through this business. “What I’m trying to do,” Star Money said, “is show the world that, no matter what you’re going through, if you keep focused on your dreams, you can make it.”

He has personally kept going after tragedy and personal loss. His mother, Tamala Clayton who passed away last year, was the inspiration for his next independent project, “Tammy World.” Star Money also plans to shoot music videos for “Fix It” and “Stick Out” in the coming weeks. He is also working on an Ice Wata Compilation album titled “Ice Wata Army Front Line.” Slated to drop on August 15, this will be the first album released by Empire Records under the Ice Wata Records label. Spaceballz – Uber Everywhere

Industry Spotlight, Music, Promo

Southern Trap Artist brings joy to the world with new sound of Hip Hop

DALLAS, TX – Inspiration can strike from pretty much anywhere for young up-and-coming artist Dylan Robison, better known by his stage name SpaceBallz. Take his latest single “Uber Everywhere” for instance. Inspiration for the song struck one day while sitting in class at high school. He was a senior and hated school – so much so that while sitting in class that day he decided he was done. He stood up, said goodbye to his teacher and classmates and left. He went home and wrote the song “Uber Everywhere” in five minutes and in less than three months, he had tens of thousands of streams online and a budding new music career.

That’s the way SpaceBallz lives his life and his music is a reflection of that organic reaction to the world around him. Raised on the West Coast and a child of the foster care system, SpaceBallz saw his fair share of hard times. He and his fiancé even spent about eight months living homeless in their car before his music began to take off. Now at only age 21, he has moved to Texas and he and his fiancé have a son. And he’s making major strides in the music industry. His unique blend of Trap and Pop culture make him a voice for his generation with a sound that’s equal parts progressive and relevant.

“I’m a trap artist and I talk about things I do in my music,” he said. “Real stuff, not things I don’t do or haven’t experienced. I write all my own music because I’m real, not fake. I don’t care about social media or anything that requires you to put on a façade. All I care about is making good music. This single is a great example of that. When I wrote it, I didn’t care about anything anymore and I knew that one day I was going to get famous and make money off my music. I put that in my head and I haven’t stopped.”

SpaceBallz said that like many other successful artists, music saved him during his turbulent youth. Foster care left its share of scars on his life, and music – everything from Bob Dylan to Slipknot – helped him overcome those hardships by way of providing an escape. He went through shelters and homes for five years during which time he taught himself to play the piano, clarinet and saxophone. He’s worked hard to develop his own unique sound and style, and he hopes that his music will become inspirational for other people in similar ways that music was inspirational to him.

“I just want to bring joy,” he said. “So many people are angry these days, and if they can hear my music and laugh and get out of that mood then that’s what I want. There needs to be more love in the world than hate, and too many people are showing hate these days. I want my music to help people feel a sense of joy and feel that it’s OK.”

Gamebr8ker Releases New Single ‘Put in Wrk‘

BAILEYS CROSSROADS, VA— Rising Rapper and Producer, Marcus Wade, AKA Gamebr8ker releases his newest single “Put in Wrk” and is already receiving incredible feedback. After dropping his first album “Inspired By You” earlier this year and reaching thousands of streams on Spotify with tracks such as “Moonwalk” and “Adventure”, “Put in Wrk” switches up from his normal love and R&B sound to tell a story of pushing others to get past transgressions and hard times, to stay focused, and be reminded that you will succeed. This beat encompasses influences of a street hustle vibe, and with that, Gamebr8ker’s flow is incredibly straightforward and motivating. “I want to remind people to go get it. If you don’t put in the work, you ain’t getting the return,” he says.

Gamebr8ker’s story is an inspirational one to say the least. “I’ve had my share of hardships,” he says when referring to the loss of three siblings and experiencing a house fire, “But that doesn’t mean that you need to stay down forever. You have to focus and put in the work needed to rise. Don’t let the world get you down.”

Until venues reopen again, Gamebr8ker is broadcasting live sets on IG Live and competing in Rap competitions on the Mico app. He’s spending as much time as he can on social media connecting with his fans.

Seattle’s Newest R&B Singer Audio Soothe Drops His Debut Single ‘Doubt’

SEATTLE, WA — Seattle native and advancing artist Darvell McMillian, AKA Audio Soothe, is bringing a new R&B sound to the Emerald City. With his soft harmonies and passionate riffs, his sound is beautifully unique for the R&B scene in general, but also brings light to the genre in Seattle. On top of that, it’s worth knowing that Audio Soothe is an actor who went to Seattle Talent.

“I write about what’s happening in my life but I also write so that others can relate. I meditate on my words.” says McMillian, “I know it’s hard out there for artists to make it. There’s a lot of doubt that people have when you put yourself out there and that’s what this song’s about.”

With major influences in his music from artists such as Chris Brown and John Legend, Audio Soothe has a trained pitch and an incredible range, giving a soothing and easy-listening vibe with notes of a softer tone that when you listen to his range it takes you on a journey throughout his song.

Few R&B artists have come from Seattle and Audio Soothe raises the bar. Currently as he’s unable to perform live shows due to COVID-19, he’s connecting with his fans through his social media.
