“I’m not… I’m not typical. I don’t know… you just like…. you never even gave me a chance. So much in that I leave people because they’re so dysfunctional…I’m still here by the grace of God that you know, he brought me out when everybody counted me out … I just feel like giving back and now I feel like it is..is difficult because I got to push myself. I got to support myself and soon as I said that people had a problem with it.”

Take a look into the young ROO Walker, that’s driving up all the buzz

Videos

Lil Frankie J

Following in the same footsteps as the undisputed King of Pop is sixth grade West Orange, NJ middle school student Lil Frankie J. When he was only 10 years old, the child prodigy captured America’s heart last summer on the Tik Tok app with hit single “Roo Walk.”

In the video, Frankie recites simple but aesthetically appealing lyrics on a trap drum beat with references to his idol Michael Jackson’s hits such as “ABC.” All the while, he’s showing off some fancy footwork with his own “Frankie twist” dance.

“What inspires me most about Michael Jackson is that he began his career at a young age just like me,” Frankie explains. “Knowing that he worked hard, even at my age, made me realize that I could follow my dreams of creating music for everyone to enjoy. He was also passionate about his work. When I perform, I put all my effort into my work to show my dedication.”
Born Frank James, Jr., the multi-talented minor was first introduced to Jackson by his grandmother when he was only a year old. For a Christmas present, he to Jackson’s diamond-selling Thriller album. The 60-million-selling album stayed in repeat rotation in young Frankie’s room.

Michael Joseph Jackson was only seven years old when he first stepped on stage at a local talent competition, stole the show with his amazing prepubescent voice and walked away with the first-place prize. Spending his childhood submersed in perfecting his singing and dancing, MJ rose to superstar status as a young adult to become one of the greatest musicians of all time.

“I remember listening to the album all the time,” he recalls. “The music put me in a happy mood, and I would just dance to every song.”

Much like Michael, Frankie first took his talents to a stage at eight years old at a school talent show. He sang the first verse and chorus to the Jackson 5 1971 ballad “Maybe Tomorrow.” Even though, he did not win first place, Frankie knew at that very moment the stage was meant to be his home.

“I really wasn’t nervous because everyone knew already, I loved to perform,” he admits. “Even though I won third place, it pushed me to work harder.”

The following year, Frankie returned to perform in the talent show and won first place.
His father noticed the boy’s tenacity and got his son signed to a New York City talent agency, which afforded him the opportunity to appear as a kid actor on the Larry Wilmore Show, Madame Secretary and BrainPOP.

Also, while continuing to pursue his career in showmanship, Frankie saw the Writerz Block Challenge, so his father brought Frankie to the Writerz Block Studio. There, he wrote the lyrics to “Roo Walk” with the assistance of his producer and dance coach in less than three hours.

“I was really nervous going to my first studio session,” he admits. “Of course, I knew this would-be part of the process, but I didn’t have any experience at a studio. But once I went into the booth to record, I took a couple of deep breaths and my confidence kicked in. It was so cool to learn how music is recorded from beginning to end.”

After posting the video to social media, it caught on like wildfire. Frankie J had become an overnight celebrity. “Because the video was watched by so many people, I started to gain more followers and received positive reviews,” he details. “I was really excited! My friends and family know how passionate I am about becoming an entertainer.”
There’s no denying that Frankie J is a star in the making. “Roo Walk” is currently available to stream on all digital platforms.

Phor Releases Video for New Single “Got Love” @phoreverim

Videos

Phor is back with his latest single, “Got Love.”

Raised on the southside of Chicago, Phor is a true artist in every sense of the word. His first big break came after graduating from Thornwood High School in the form of a sneaker designing gig with Nike. When it was time to renew his contract with the “Just Do It” athletic brand, he declined and transitioned into the world of tattooing. Though the popular branding technique catapulted him into a household name, for Phor being able to do music full time has always been his dream.

Inspired by a childhood friend, the N.M.O.L. frontman began penning songs as a teen but officially made his iTunes debut back in 2015 with Sacrifice, which was followed by Lightning Bug and Butterfly which birthed his most popular release to date “Chi-Town.” An ode to the city that raised him the song went on to receive a video treatment by A Zae Production as well as a “Remix” from hometown heroes Bump J, Twista, and Lil Durk.

An advocate for mental health in fall of 2018 he released “Help,” the follow up to the Valee-assisted summer jam “LV,” to raise awareness depression and suicide. To kick off 2019 he released Cake, a 13-cut collection of records that featured tribute track “Truly Missed,” which commemorated the passing of his cousin Jade.

“Got Love” is the latest single off of his project “Self Love.” The single was produced by Lehday. The video, shot by Art Camp(@artcamp) and directed by Connor Townsend (@ctownsend), gives a short film vibe.

“Fame is a hell of a drug and it comes with a lot of fake love and hate. You don’t know who is really there for you so it more so came from being hurt by the closest ones to me from friends and even in relationships ”

[New Music] Brutus The Melodist ft. 5tash @5tash_ @brutusthemelodist

Blog

HIS NAME IS BRUTUS & HE’S HERE TO STAY!

Now the newest member of Greenfolkz! an ATL based Label & Collective Group of Independent Artists Led by “5tash”, – Ryan Lamar Alexander, of Prince George’s County, Maryland & “Odashow”- Oluseyi Olaore, outta Cincinnati, Ohio, consisting of Yoxay”- Joseph Allen, also from P.G. County, Maryland, “, “Glorious Queen“- Carolyn Simpson, and Producer “KNYKEYS”, Kenneth Reyes; he surely is amongst great company and some “Folkz” who we already “5now”, know exactly what it takes to make classic records .

On this record, the newly Atlanta-based artist & upriser, Joshua Branden Welch – aka BRUTUS THE MELODIST teams up with Ryan Lamar Alexander – aka 5TASH BANKS, for a timeless debut, sure to stand the test of time! The overall vibe of the song is uptempo & yet very smooth at the same time. The hi-hats lead the beat have a bounce, with slightly heavy 808’s The hook is catchy af with the P.G. County upriser, 5tash paying homage to the hit by LL Cool J “ Doin It”., with a whole new twist, and it works perfectly.

On this record, 5tash talks about how he doesn’t even know how he does the things that he does in a very unique way, the likes unheard thus far. He cleverly discusses making “dubs” or W’s out of L’s or losses, all to the tune of a very catchy melody. Not surprising from the Original “Melodist”.

The PG county native, brought a very vicarious vibe on the hook as many of us can relate by not honestly knowing how we get through doing all the different things we do in our own lives. 5tash, as always, goes crazy n reaches even deeper in his cadence & flow bags to deliver a solid record this time around & never fails to impress us. He not only called for his little brother for back up on this banger but it seems that 5tash formerly known as LaMar The Melodist, has now bestowed his name to Brutus, rightfully so.

Brutus shows up and shows out on this debut hit describing his life, family and experiences thus far as well as expectation for his career all to the tune of a very catchy cadence reminiscent to the hook. You can definitely hear his vocal range on display in full effect on the background of the whole song as well. A very stout performance to be his first time behind the microphone for sure. We’re definitely excited to hear more from the Atlanta Upriser. Big shouts out to Bradford Visuals, LLC who dis a superb job capturing the two of artist on the single artwork in a compilation style movie-like poster.

Brutus is currently in his last year with the Georgia Boy Choir and has traveled to 10 countries with them. Not only has he traveled with them, but he has also performed an entire solo in Carnegie Hall, and even received a standing ovation. He will be the first Black chorister to make it all the way through from the age of 5 to the age of 18. After the death of his close but nonbiological cousin Chazz in 2016, Brutus started making beats which helped him deal with grieving Chazz’s death.

“IEK” is sure to be a classic when it’s all said and done with possibly more heat to come from Brutus the Melodist before we get to hear an entire project. But who knows, we can only wait and see what more is in store but in the meantime be sure you you check out this certified Hit, now available on all digital platforms/outlets!

As the world continues to change right in front of our eyes it is time that we do something to gain some control on a Loving, Peaceful, and Equal level. If we want to change the world it begins with ourselves and how to treat others. RESPECT IS KEY!!!

Dez Turner is an Upcoming Recording

Artist/Legend from Brooklyn, New York. His music is mostly described as uplifting, happy, heartfelt, and partying type of music. One of the messages he loves sharing is “no matter what you’ve been through there is always somebody who has been through the same or something even worse. Therefore you are never alone!” Dez’s music takes on every genre but as an artist he gives off the R&B and Pop kind of image. Dez Turner’s music career is consistently based on Writing, recording, and negotiating performance opportunities with the help of his manager Anthony Gray (Tone) to raise funds for traveling opportunities and gaining proper exposure around the city.

Dez Turner says he easily fell in love with music once he found his ability to sing. Singing is his way of expressing himself. Dez grew up going to church which gave his mom and grandmother the idea of putting him on the children’s choir. Since then he’s been singing at every one of his church’s events. As he got older he started liking other genres such as R&B, Hip-Hop, and Pop music because of his 2 musical inspirations which were Michael Jackson and Chris Brown.

What sets Dez Turner apart and makes him different from other artists is his Voice and most of all his dedication, mind, and Creativity. There are many other creative artists but he has always felt that being unique and authentic in everything he does is what’s going to Make him GREAT. Some of Dez’s Greatest Career Highlights would be performing for The Michelle Obama Democratic Club, The Women’s Rights March, The African American Day Parade, and so many more. He puts his heart into every performance and track because he says, “singing and Music is truly my passion.” Music has been a comfort to Dez during hard times so he feels that it’s only right to share his feelings of love, joy, and thankfulness through his music.
