Make sure you remember the name “Splash Da Don” from Atlanta GA, he grew up on Campbellton Road in SW Atlanta. Zone 4. His new single is called “Rich Nigga Problems”. It’s basically a flex song detailing things that come with having money and problems that you can have by having money. I feel like I have my own sound, I don’t think I sound like anyone else. I like to speak on things that’s actually going on in my life and where I’m from. Some advice I would give to other artists is to be yourself. Because that’s the only thing that will keep you going in the long run. Don’t worry about what other people think of your music. It’s several billion people in the world. So you
will be able to capture your own fan base. My biggest influence as an artist would be people like Future, Young thug, T.I. I feel like they put on for the city the right way, I would put the Lil Baby up there too. I would like to work with all of them also if the chance presented itself. The message I would give to my fans is, I work hard
everyday to give them music to see a point of view in my life. I’m always trying to get better everyday, so they will always have something to look forward to when I drop new music. The next thing for me is dropping more records and visuals for people to see. I want to drop a couple more singles, then I will follow it up with an EP for a collection of songs. Atlanta rising star Clay James spazzes on ‘Two-Three Anthem’ presented by Ferrari Simmons

Videos

Back in June, it was announced that Ferrari Simmons and Justin L. Hatney signed Savannah, Georgia native Clay James to their ‘Two-Three Management Group’. The acquisition was big for both parties because as you know Ferrari Simmons has been making a name for himself in the streets of Atlanta for quite some time. Whether it’s been through radio, DJ’n, hosting, or being a brand influencer Ferrari seems to have an eye for what’s next in this ever changing music industry. Clay James has also been making a name for himself on the underground music scenes of Atlanta and Savannah, Georgia. Most people first caught wind of Clay James when he received a major co-sign by fellow Savannah native ‘Big Boi’ 1/2 of the legendary duo Outkast. Since then Clay signed his first record deal with Snoop Dogg’s Doggystyle South Records imprint headed by CEO Papa Loc. During his time under Snoop and Papa, Clay increased his visibility immensely and was able to catapult himself to the forefront of the indie music scene in Atlanta. Since leaving Doggystyle South Clay James has worked with Missy Elliot, making an appearance in Missy’s ‘Drip-Demeanor’ video, as well as freestyling over this same beat, and was reposted by the legend herself. James’ music videos have been in heavy rotation on MTV and BET and he’s received his first movie role in ‘Out On A Lim’ starring Tray Chaney which is coming soon to a screen near you. James’ latest project ‘FLY AF’ Ep debuted #5 on the iTunes hip-hop charts and has over 500,000 streams on Spotify. This project was executive produced by fellow Two-Three Management signee ‘Madness’. Two-Three Management houses a slew of talented producers, song writers, and artists: Slic Cheauxlove, Tr3time, DAD, CEO Dent, Sincity, Brodie Beatz, Lamar Keys, Wavvy Pluto, DJ JWattz, & Drew Beats. Check out what these guys did over Meek Mill’s ‘Sharing Locations’ track and stay in tune with Clay James and the entire Two-Three roster as they gear up to have a groundbreaking 2022.

Alt rock meets modern-day vibes on new EP from grunge rocker Building Down

BOISE, ID – Nick Elliott is not afraid to speak the truth. His music is a perfect example of that. While he has nothing against love songs or the carefree lyrics of Pop music, his intention as an artist is to bring something deeper to the table. His music is the kind of music that touches on the deeper truths of the world. Like many people who have turned to music to help them understand the hardships of life, Elliott uses music to cope with difficult situations and delve deeper into the mysteries of life that often seem confusing and discouraging. And along the way he has found an outlet not only for himself, but for others. As such, his music has become the kind of introspective entertainment that fans all over the world have come to love and appreciate.

That process is what led to the name Building Down, which is what he uses as a stage name. Pulled from an old Blind Willie Johnson song, the name reflects the idea of tearing down the broken pieces of the past so as to build something stronger and new. It’s an idea connected with what’s happening in society and across the global landscape, with the intention of using music to inspire others to seek out positive change in their approach to social justice.

“My music is trying to reach for something a little higher,” Elliott said. “I’m trying to do that through a mix of rock, electronic, blues and folk, all while embracing instrumentation. People aren’t embracing instrumentation anymore, and it makes me sad because you don’t hear that guitar-driven sound like you used to. I would love to be on the forefront of a revival of guitar riffs and guitar solos.”

Elliott’s latest EP “Just Enough” is the perfect example of that guitar-forward instrumentation. Featuring an alt-rock style that blends elements of electronic and Indie/Folk, the project displays his early influences of Blues while also expanding on modern-day sounds that could only be called “progressive.” With “Just Enough,” Elliott shows the world a new style and sound that is equal parts intriguing and entertaining.

The debut single from the EP is a song called “Vapor.” Fans of late 90s and early 2000s alt rock will immediately identify with the sound from this song, as it hearkens back to bands like Better Than Ezra or Chevelle. Elliott embraces that grunge sound, but sets it against electronic-infused vibes that create an ethereal experience. The intriguing juxtaposition of the weeping electric guitar walking a line against a counter-point grungy electric guitar rhythm is nothing short of inspired. The song starts with an entrancing intro that pulls you in and then picks up as it goes along, and the overall ride is extremely enjoyable.

“This song reflects my observations of what is happening in America and what is happening in the world as a whole,” Elliott said. “People are going with how they feel more often than not, and they aren’t considering the ramifications of their actions. Their feelings lead them to dangerous ideas. When your feelings are your only barometer, it can lead you astray. It’s all too common in society today to hear the idea of ‘if you follow your heart it’ll all be OK,’ but clearly that doesn’t all work out. This song – and by extension, the full EP – highlights the fallacy of that statement and tries to warn people not to fall for those lies.”

“Vapor” is slated to release on Oct. 22, with “Just Enough” set to follow shortly after on Nov. 12. To listen to Building Down’s music, or to follow him on social media, please visit the following links:

n.e.r.d. life by D’vo – Butterflies

Blog, ME Blog, Music, Promo

Experimental artist blends new-wave Hip-Hop with Neo-Soul for intriguing vibe on ‘The Codex’ series

HOUSTON, TX – n.e.r.d. life by D’Vo is an Experimental Hip-Hop and Soul Artist whose Christian hip-hop series “The Codex” has been offering enlightenment and healing through entertaining artistry to thousands of audiences around the world. His latest contribution to the series is “Court Vision,” an album that serves as the third installment of “The Codex” series. Featuring advanced storytelling from a unique point of view, with a God-centric vibe, the album offers a different perspective from what many fans of hip-hop might have become accustomed to over the years.

“At this stage, I’ve realized my genre, which is Experimental Hip-Hop and Neo-Soul,” n.e.r.d. life by D’Vo said. “With this album, I’m telling a story in between each track – something I haven’t done before – in order to give listeners a deeper experience.”

The debut single from the project is a song called “Butterflies,” which D’Vo said has already received a lot of accolades from industry insiders and fans alike. With “Butterflies,” listeners will hear a nostalgic vibe against lyrics that explore the feelings you get when you’re about to do something you love. For D’Vo, that means creating new music. It’s also a song that perfectly showcases this talented young artist’s unique sound and style.

“My sound is definitely a different one from mainstream music today,” he said. “Experimental music can give you a range of different genres in one body of work. My music tends to fall in line with artists like Childish Gambino, Oddisee, and even the legendary group A Tribe Called Quest. But what’s even more unique about me compared to their music is the modulated voices I use to tell stories. I want something that stands out, which is why I have the name n.e.r.d. life by D’Vo, which is an acronym for Needing Eternal Redemption and Deliverance – something I believe the world needs. I want to incorporate that theme into all my music.”

Ultimately, D’Vo said he wants his music to be known for standing up for God. He said he always has believed that if you don’t stand up for something, you’ll fall for anything. And for him, God and the purpose He brings to D’Vo’s life is something he’s constantly trying to stand up for.

“It’s what keeps me grounded,” he said. “I hope the message in my music will help other people choose to get grounded in the things of God. He only wants what’s best for us.”

D’Vo said after “Court Vision,” he plans to continue to release more music and ultimately wants “The Codex” series to include eleven full albums. He’s already working on the next volume, while also fleshing out the look-and-feel of the character he’s created to take listeners on the journey of his story. That character will be featured in D’Vo’s first fully animated music video coming out in the next few months.

Di’Atti – Demons

Di’Atti Debuts with High Energy “Demons”

LOS ANGELES – Sometimes, you just know you want to be a musician. That was the case for Di’Atti, a self-proclaimed nomad born in Houston, raised in Nebraska, and calls home Mar Vista, a suburb of Los Angeles.

“One day, I just sat down and thought that I’ve always liked music. I heard a lot of music, and sometimes the lyrics just didn’t match for me. I wanted the lyrics to say what was in my head. So, I started to write a verse here and there.”

And that was the beginning of Di’Atti’s career as an artist.

His first EP, “Off to New Hampshire,” is currently available on streaming platforms and getting noticed by listeners attracted to his energy-packed rap and rhythm style of singing.

For Di’Atti, writing lyrics is not just taking pen to paper – it is life-changing. “I get a feeling that goes through my whole body, the energy and everything with it. I hear a beat, and it sparks something in my head. I just go off, and the words come,” he explained.

Unlike other artists who simply rap to the beat, Di’Atti changes the music landscape with innovative flows and hooks that dig deep in listeners’ souls, making them want more.

When asked about his specific tone and sound, he said, “It’s a unique pitch. I’ve always been told that it stands out well from others and is very distinct. Maybe it is because my voice isn’t exactly like anyone else’s.”

That individuality is one key ingredient to “Off to New Hampshire.” The EP contains seven tracks which Di’Atti refers to as a “mixed tape” because each song is different in style and tone but maintains his pitch and perfection for writing lyrics. “You can hype up to it and just relax to it. It has a little bit of everything,” he said.

Getting noticed by listeners worldwide, “Demons” is gaining traction and airplay as new listeners discover Di’Atti.

“Everybody in life has that point, where they finally get to, where they want to be. But there’s just something that could be in the closet – a demon. Demons are a good word to describe what people will be going through. It’s just something inside that always aches at them,” he explained.

Taking a page from his nomadic lifestyle, Di’Atti added, “I want people to listen to it and be in tune with themselves. So, they can relate to whatever that problem may be.”

Another track on his debut EP is “HollyWood,” the perfect song to play while driving or at a party to get things started with its deep vibes and decent raps.

Looking ahead to the future, Di’Atti said, “I just want y’all to feel good when listening to my music. I feel good making it, and I hope the energy I put into it reflects. Hopefully, you get the same good energy that I felt. If we can all tune in and come into sync, the energy is going to be wild. I’m all for good vibrations.”

Unwanted Begins with Clips of Greatness to Come

PHILADELPHIA – Fifteen-year-old Unwanted is laying down some melodies and raps that have fans wanting more.

Born and raised in the City of Brotherly Love, Unwanted takes a unique approach to enter the music industry. Instead of dropping a few singles, he is posting short clips of his raps varying in style and themes on Instagram and YouTube, all in the hopes of attracting the attention of hip-hop rapper fans – and it is working.

“I got more to bring, and this is only a portion of what I can do,” said Unwanted. “There is more to come in the future. It’s somethin’ way bigger than what meets the eye. I’m different.”

While other rappers are lacing their lyrics with profanity, Unwanted said it is a choice to rap clean and make sure that he never disrespects people, especially women. Perhaps his grandmother, who he affectionately refers to as Mom-Mom, had that influence on him. She has raised him since his birth. Hence the name “Unwanted” is about his biological parents, but not Mom-Mom and his fans.

“When it comes to lyrical content from me, it’s like I’m always trying to get a point across, not only to the audience but myself as well,” he explained.

By using a rhythm perfectly sprinkled with a cadence of a never-ending vibe, Unwanted creates a poetic melody with each rap.

When asked what sets him apart from other young rappers, Unwanted said, “My lyrical content with my age, and the topics I’m talking about and the way I come across is me. When it comes to technical things like delivery and cadence, it’s just me. You know, it’s never fiction when it comes down to tracks.”

Currently, Unwanted has hit on various topics for his songs, including his father, growing up in Philadelphia, and the life experiences he’s endured. Taking his cues from rappers like Eminem, Unwanted is drawn to songs that tell stories. “I love artists like that because I look at not only when it comes to certain tracks that they’ve created but their life and its life stories. They also represent themselves and their music, so that’s what’s so dope about it,” he added.

However, when this teen reflects on his life and what he hopes to accomplish, Unwanted said, “I’ve wanted to be an artist for a long time. Honestly, as I kept doing it, I noticed that it made me happy, and now it’s like a piece of me. Someday, when I’m in a good position, maybe I can change a great amount of people and their perspectives on life.”

The perspective is about to change – and soon – with the release of his first single, “Rodeo.” After getting a solid footing in the music industry, Unwanted is ready to take the next step.

“Rodeo” will drop in a few weeks, showcasing Unwanted’s trademark cadence and metaphoric rhymes. With additional songs to follow, Unwanted is going to be a wanted man by his fans.
