Richie Red – Wolves Den

Blog, ME Blog, Music, Promo

With his latest single ‘Wolves Den,’ Richie Red is gearing up to be the new leader of the pack

CLEVELAND, OH – Richie Red wants to be one of the biggest names in the world, and from the looks of his latest single “Wolves Den,” he is well on his way. With a relaxed Hip Hop sound, Red has created a style that is all his own. No matter what is going on, his music can always fit the vibe.

Red began his artistic journey at a young age, taking an interest in dance before growing into his own style of Rap through freestyling and later finally laying down tracks in the recording studio. “It started off with me dancing. I used to watch Michael Jackson and Usher when I was four years old and I wanted to be like them. When I got older, dancing wasn’t that much fun anymore. I would watch all my big brothers that rapped and I got into a lot of artists like Young Jeezy , Gucci Mane and Plies. I was freestyling in middle school and everybody who listened would tell me ‘You should rap! You should rap! You’re good at rapping!’ So basically, I just started taking it seriously and I started recording at seventh grade. I was pretty good back then.”

Though he is a versatile artist, Red prefers to stick to his roots in the Hip Hop industry, focusing on a relaxed Rap sound influenced by Hip Hop and R&B. “I do rap because there is a lot that I’ve been through. Rap is basically how I get it off my mind and just talk about the things that I’ve seen. I use music because most people that I talk to say I’m good at it. When I write about what I’ve been through, sometimes it helps me get things off my mind. I also just have fun doing it. It was a hobby at first but now I like taking it more seriously and I know that I could really be something bigger than I am.”

Red’s most recent release is a track called “Wolves Den.” This song is about how life happens around us and the only way to get through it is to embrace what comes our way. “I live in a world where people will turn their backs on you but I’m still enjoying myself. I’ve been going through a lot of stuff but my life is getting better. I still live in reality but my life is going better and my style is changing. It’s just like a wolf going through the woods, looking for something that he needs and as he comes up on different things, his image changes. He might get bigger, he might feel healthier, his family might be able to eat and that’s basically where I’m at in my life. I’m just outside to get whatever I can get to make the best out of.”

The “Wolves Den” music video has been recently released and that is just the beginning of where Red wants to take his career. “I don’t have to put too much in it, it’s just natural. I see myself becoming one of the biggest artists in the world especially with the story that I have behind me. I’m not just any type of rapper that woke up one day wanting to be a rapper. My mother passed when I was 14 and my brother passed when I was 20 years old. My mother was a big character in my life and everybody loved her. She was an entertainer and so was my brother, so I feel like I have no choice but to make it at this point. It is what I want to do every day.”

Kunal – Angelic & Devilish

Blog, Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Promo

LA-based Hip Hop artist Kunal offers eclectic variety of sounds with new singles ‘Angelic & Devilish’ and ‘Feeling Good’

LOS ANGELES, CA- Hip Hop artist KUNAL is a burgeoning force on the horizon. He is a product of global influences. Spending his childhood in New York, New Jersey and London – and paired with his Punjabi heritage – there is no succinct way to describe his craftsmanship. If you ask him, his sound is influenced by waking up to the melodies of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and Bob Marley, while also discovering artists such as Eminem and Kanye West who spoke to other parts of his soul. He has a wide-ranging sound that is centered on rhythm and lyricism. KUNAL’s sound exudes a uniqueness that is characterized by uninhibited creativity reflective of his human experience.

That signature style is put on full display with his debut single “Angelic & Devilish” and furthered by his second release Feelin’ Good.” Both are currently available across all streaming platforms. KUNAL has always been passionate about music – playing saxophone as a child, singing in choir, and writing poetry for as long as he can remember. The Coronavirus pandemic afforded him both the spare time and the alone time in his LA apartment to come back to the passions that had been on hold for so long. The years-long journey-in-the-making has been so profound that it has changed his career aspirations. KUNAL is already working on another two singles that he hopes to drop later this year as well as a full EP set for early 2021.

“When I moved to LA five years ago, I had no idea I was going to make music,” KUNAL said. “I was open to many different possibilities and I knew that I loved entertaining – from music and film to all kinds of artistic expression. But I was open to whatever LA was going to provide me. The pandemic has created an opportunity to put time and attention to music, and these singles have been a primer for more of what’s to come.”

Fans have described “Angelic & Devilish” as something reminiscent of a Nas-meets-Travis Scott vibe, highlighting that KUNAL’s sound cannot be put into a box or category that has ever been heard before. The sound appeals to fans of all ages because of the eclectic 90’s Hip Hop feel, he said, combined with upbeat and fun melodies from current decades of music. His cadence and flow compliment the introspective lyrics with which many Rap legends would be associated. He lays the joys and pains of his past on the line to examine the polarity of life which is a huge reason why so many people have already found his music so relatable, he said.

“We’re all both angelic and devilish in some way,” he said. “For me, it was a song that was very reflective personally, and as such, it was a really fun song for me to work on.”

With Feelin’ Good,” KUNAL brings in a modern effect that calls attention to yet another aspect of his personality. The fun upbeat pace is fitting for a night out but is also perfectly suited to kicking back with friends. It’s an anthem for anyone who fully embraces who they are despite what others think or say about them.

“In the chorus I said, ‘I’m pouring out a drink, sending love to all the different places that played a role in who I am and shaped who I am,’” KUNAL said. “Then it goes on to say that I don’t care if you don’t understand me or I don’t fit into your box. I’m feeling good and I’m doing good and I’m OK with who I am, and so here’s a couple of nuggets of who I am and some of the things I care about. It was fun finding the sound and style for this song because the production was completely different than anything else I’d ever done, but it was still me. It gave me a chance to explore a different side of me and explore my range, and I think people will have fun with it, too.”

KUNAL said he’s looking forward to speaking for it and fans getting to know him through that sound. To listen to KUNAL’s music or to follow him on social media, please visit:

Onna Deshae – Rush

Onna Deshae drops powerful new EP with message of encouragement for women all over the world

CHICAGO, IL – For many people around the world, the pearl is a symbol of perfection. It’s the ultimate example of beauty, but it’s also the ultimate example of how time and pressure can shape a person into exactly who they were meant to be.

That’s the sentiment Chicago-based artist Onna Deshae captures on her new EP “Intro to the Pearl Bible.” Currently available across all streaming platforms, the eight-song project features a variety of sounds and styles that explore her spiritual journey through life, with ups and downs that have helped to mold and shape her into the self-confident and powerful young woman that she is today.

“A bible is another guide through life and this project is an intro into that guide,” Onna said. “It’s a series of stories or things I’ve gone through that have led me to want to go on that journey of finding my most perfect self. There are songs about relationships – both romantic and with family and friends – and songs about our political environment, and just basically things that we go through in our everyday lives. It’s songs that would represent what it might be like if you were to walk through your history and remember what you’ve been through. When you do that, you realize the best way to move forward is to step into a new life.”

At only 24-years-old, Onna is making quite a statement with this project. But she’s no stranger to the music industry. She’s been a singer/songwriter for more than a decade with success on a national scale. She credits her grandmother, Jacqueline Oneal, for being the person to push her and encourage her through the years. She said her grandmother always encouraged her to write in her diary and eventually, to turn those things in her journal into songs and pursue music as a career.

“She’s like my heart,” Onna said. “She always encouraged me and took me to different talent shows when I was younger. She always kept me grounded and always encouraged me to write my feelings down. This project is just that.”

The EP starts off with “Rush” which is an immediate entryway into Onna’s life and how she feels about men, relationships, and her confidence. It’s a fun and playful song that many other women around the world will connect with as she explores her insecurities and how she’ll always walk through her anxieties with power.

That’s followed by “Harvest Season” which examines the emotional state that sometimes leads people to make bad decisions when dating. Then comes “Girl, Viral” which is a song about Onna’s view on social media in today’s world and how it affects relationships and personal standards, often challenging the belief systems of many people who overuse it. This song features fellow rapper O.G. Casey.

Also collaborating on the project was an artist known as Riodezonero who was featured on and engineered, the fourth song “Social Distance.” It’s a song about isolation and how the pandemic has forced a lot of people around the world to change their thoughts and learn to be ok with being alone.

Actin Bad” is the fifth song on the EP and is Onna’s heartbreak song. It talks about the love that a person receives and how some people use that as a weapon against others. She said the song was inspired during a time when she was in a dark space and was causing self-harm to her spirit. OG Casey also worked with her on this song to craft the lyrics.

Coming out of that song is an anthem for women in the form of “Pum Pum.” Onna said the song embodies the power of the lady and the lady parts, and is about being firm in decisions when it comes to protecting “your temple” – the body and mind. She said “Pum Pum” will be an anthem for women all over the world to take power in their sexuality and their choices.

The last two songs on the project are “Options” and “Warm.” The first features another producer named VerySpecialEd, who helped Onna craft lyrics that capture her feelings about making choices that protect her from the self-doubt that can often creep in. And “Warm” finishes the project with a song that she said is “the epitome of the Pearl Bible for me.”

“It’s a strong, poetic description of what I know love to be after the storm of stories I share on this project,” she said. “Love is warmth and protection, even on the coldest of days. I want a man who can keep me warm and protected in all aspects of my life. ‘Warm’ was a very poetic experience for me and my favorite song from the project.”

Onna said that “The Intro to the Pearl Bible” is just the first of a series of projects exploring the Pearl Bible. The follow-up, “Journals of the Pearl Bible,” will come in 2021. Onna also said there is currently a 45-day dance contest associated with her single “Rush” with winners set to be announced on Nov. 21. The challenge is to come up with unique choreography that fans can post to their social media with the hashtag #rushdancechallenge and @onnadeshae. Winners will receive a $200 cash prize, and the runner-up will receive a $100 cash prize. Winners will also have the chance to be featured in one of Onna’s future music videos.

J3 The Rap Vigilante – Who Want It

Blog, Industry Spotlight, Music, Promo

J3 The Rap Vigilante displays diversity across seven tracks on new EP ‘Nocturnal II

ATLANTA, GA – When it comes to bringing variety to today’s music scene, Hip Hop artist J3 The Rap Vigilante is like a chameleon. He’s got conscious Rap, real, mellow, aggressive, and everything in between. In other words, he can’t be put in a box. But more than that, his unique sound and style brings out the best in people and provides a thrill ride that cannot be beat.

This originality and energy is put on full display with his latest EP “Nocturnal II.” It’s the second half of an EP of the same name that he released about a year ago, and its seven tracks continue to explore the journey of this fast-rising young talent from the South.

“It’s picking up right where I left off,” J3 said. “It’s me taking control of what I want to do as far as music goes. Coming up in Atlanta, people can get used to a certain sound that’s popular, but I choose to stay in my lane and do my own thing. That’s what I want to be is true to myself. That said, you can hear the growth from the first EP now. I always go off the beat and I can fit in anywhere. So there are some aggressive songs, some mellow tracks, some soulful, some conscious, and a lot of different vibes. I feel like people should be able to relate to it.”

The debut single from the project is a song called “Who Want It. Working in collaboration with his brother, fellow artist Point Oh, J3 brings about an aggressive in-your-face track that shows why he goes by the name Rap Vigilante.

“Sometimes you gotta let people know,” he said. “That’s what this song is about. I’m the Rap Vigilante because I’m not gonna try to fit in and do things for other people. I’m gonna do it for myself. I make music for people in the process of finding their own path. I found a path that was best for me and when I can reach people with that kind of mentality, then the sky’s the limit.”

“Nocturnal II” was produced by AveDaMafia and Point 0h with a feature from Since 9ty5. It is currently available across all streaming platforms.

Hellagreeno – Life Lessons

Blog, ME Blog, Music, Promo

Timely message takes center stage on new album from Hellagreeno

COLUMBUS, OH – If there’s one thing people in 2020 need, it’s motivation that they can overcome any obstacle in life. That’s the message that comes front and center with the new album from Ohio-based artist Hellagreeno. “Mr. Relentless: An Underdog Story” is a 10-song blast of energy that’s all about overcoming obstacles and not letting anything stop you from achieving the goals you’ve established.

“There are a lot of distractions that keep you from staying focused, but you’ve gotta be relentless,” Hellagreeno said. “I’ve been through a lot to make it to this point. When I first started out, I said I’m gonna make hella money and I’m gonna smoke hella weed. More than that though, I want to make real music that everyone can relate to and just make great music. All of that is starting to come true, and I want to share that story with others to show them that it can be done if you’re relentless.”

Currently available across all streaming platforms, “Mr. Relentless: An Underdog Story” features Hellagreeno’s signature style that taps into his Down South vibes while also showcasing an adept flow for any beat that comes his way. In his words, he just “gives the beat what it wants.”

“I just go with the flow,” he said. “If it’s a catchy, Down South beat, I might come with a Down South type of flow. If it’s an East Coast beat, I might come out really lyrically. I can get real fun, too. But it’ll still be Hellagreeno no matter what.”

Two singles from the project showcase this unique style particularly well. “Earned Stripes” is an upbeat, catchy vibe that listeners will be hard-pressed to get out of their ears even weeks and months after first listening. True to its name, the song talks about all the experiences that have led to where Hellagreeno is today – from walking with his wife through beating cancer, to betrayals from friends, and everything in between. It’s a song that he said gives listeners a message while at the same time keeping them moving to the beat.

The other standout single from the album is “Life Lessons,” featuring Rich Regal from Lancaster, Ohio. The two artists linked up after being invited by Ty Wheels to put together a cypher at his studio.

“We linked up and made a real song about how we grew up,” Hellagreeno said. “It’s one of those songs that just felt good making. We decided to call it ‘Life Lessons’ because we wrote our verses at the same time even though we weren’t together, and we both kind of came up with similar ideas. And when we put it together, it just felt like a real song – like one of them survival songs. It’s got a nice little country twang to it, with guitars going through the beat. Overall, it has a nice little vibe to it.”

Hellagreeno said that though he’s released a lot of music over the years, this is the first time he’s released a full album and he’s excited to see how far it could take him toward making that next step up in his career as a musician. He said he already has plans for more music in 2021.

Rie Daisies – EAC1012

Blog, ME Blog, Music, Promo

Rie Daisies uses sexy/dark vibes to explore life and influence of ‘wickedest man in the world’

JACKSON, MI – The fascinating and fantastical life of Aleister Crowley is something that has been studied by fans of sub-culture all around the world for the better part of the last century. Known as an English occultist, ceremonial magician, poet, painter, novelist, mountaineer, suspected spy for British intelligence, and founder of the religion of Theleema; Crowley gained widespread notoriety during his lifetime for being a recreational drug experimenter, bisexual, and an individualist social critic. For people around the world who embrace the idea of counterculture, he has become somewhat of a hero to their cause.

That sentiment comes to the forefront on the new album “Goldie Dawn” from Michigan-based artist Rie Daisies. Inspired by the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn of which Crowley was a member, Rie Daisies’ album uses a “sexy/dark” vibe across nine songs to explore “Hollywood-type magic moments, including shape-shifting, sex magic, time travel, and sacrifice.”

“Crowley was once called the wickedest man in the world, and I’m using him as an allegory throughout the work,” Rie Daisies said. “As a trans-woman and first-generation Latinx American, living through the current times that we are, having been called many similar things, those words really resonated with me. I have this way of working with very macabre subject matters yet presenting them with a sense of seductiveness. That’s my eternal vibe. I’m inspired by the darker things in life, but I’m also inspired by sensuality and love and sex and those things. I wanted to fuse them together in a way that’s not too spooky and not too sexy, keeping it more approachable. If this album was a dinner party and the songs were the food, Aleister Crowley would be the centerpiece that you’re inadvertently staring at the whole time.”

The second single “EAC1012” is a perfect example of what Rie Daisies is talking about. Directly about Aleister Crowley – with some of the lyrics pulled directly from his works of poetry – the song takes an amalgamation of various sounds and styles to tell the story of Crowley’s life. With a foundation of a Trap beat, Rie Daisies incorporates an orchestra with full winds and horns section, and a cellist.

“It was a really fun track to do because it was the first time I had ever worked with a Trap beat, and I decided if we’re gonna do Trap then we’re bringing a friggin’ orchestra,” Rie Daisies said. “The musicians I worked with were so amazing. I just threw ideas at them and they ran with it. I’ve learned over the course of doing four albums that you have to put your ego in check. You have to know your strengths and weaknesses and when to find help to get the sound or style that you want. Then let people do what they’re good at and get out of the way.”

That humble approach toward collaboration also came to fruition on the debut single “A River Within” which features fellow artist Robbie Rosen, who was a previous finalist on American Idol. Usually known for her alto vocal range, Rie Daisies said she intentionally took the low harmonies in this duet with Rosen to bring about a “cool vocal changeup with the masculine voice singing higher and the female voice singing lower.”

“His voice is so dreamy and I knew he needed to take the high part,” Rie Daisies said. “That’s my sex magic song. It’s about having a very sensual experience with someone you don’t necessarily know. It’s about something that’s really deep and fulfilling and personal, even though the other person you’re with isn’t necessarily someone you love. It’s about finding your own personal power through an act of pleasure.”

When asked what she wanted her musical legacy to be, Rie responded, “When I create music, I want to create a sonic space in which other people can find themselves. I want to create music that is unique but accessible.”

Cedric B – Milk Chocolate

Blog, Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Promo

Cedric B’s new CD “Milk Chocolate” serving sweet sounds as well as the community

DALLAS, TX – Smooth Jazz serves as the perfect platter to serve up a bevy of sweet sounds on the latest album from Dallas veteran artist/producer/engineer Cedric B. “Milk Chocolate” is a 20-song project that combines melodic grooves with mesmerizing synths and drums alongside soothing guitar and horns, all underneath strong and unique basslines. And each song on the album is named after a sweet tasty treat, which also uniquely seems to describe the mood of the song.

Featuring some of the best musicians in the world on the cd, Cedric B offers two different versions of each song – one with vocals and one with fully produced “super smooth” instrumentals.

“This is definitely a smooth Jazz lover’s dream and must-have,” Cedric B said. “It’s an instant classic. Anybody who’s a fan of Paul Hardcastle or Helen Rogers or Kool and Leen, or even Paul Brown or Paul Jackson will love this album. It’s commercial, relatable but interestly unique and fun and I think people will really love it. You can put it on and push play and let it ride as all of the songs are strong.”

This is the 16th independent album that Cedric B has created over the course of his career. He started making music at a young age when at 8, his grandfather bought him his first drum set. After playing music in junior high and high school, Cedric B set his music dreams aside to enlist in the military. He served for several years and then decided to go to college to study audio engineering. He began honing his engineering and production skills alongside some of the most talented artists in the industry, such as Hiroshima, Paul Brown, Wayman Tisdale and more. Since that time, he’s gone on to work for Sony Distribution, Little Dog Records, Capitol Studios and CBS Radio. Eventually, he made his way back home to Dallas where he began his own multimedia company (Dream Media, LLC) and started releasing at least two albums every year. “Milk Chocolate” is his first major release, but he has more than 15 independent releases under his belt as he continues to meet his self-appointed goal of releasing a smooth Jazz album and an R&B album every year.  This is a special release as Cedric B’s mother’s passing away from cancer really affected his life.  For this reason, he is dedicating 30% of all proceeds from the cd to Women in Pink, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping cancer patients gain their confidence back.

“Music is just in me,” he said. “I try to make music that’s relatable but unique. I always try to incorporate live music with my electronic music, so it’s not all electronic. It has a human feel to it. I’m all about high quality. When people hear my music I’d like for them to say, ‘That producer was talented and produced high-quality music.’ ‘Milk Chocolate’ is really something special. It’s the first time I’ve been able to capture this commercial sound I’ve really been trying to master for the past seven years. I finally knocked it out of the park with this one. When people hear it, they’ll love it because it has that kind of sound that’s immediately recognizable.”

Now Defunkt – Old Enough

Blog, Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Promo

Built on family, compassion and community in a trying time, Now Defunkt releases their new album

At the beginning of the pandemic, three friends — Scott Macklin, Steve McMahon and James Hunter — put together a song with the expectation that they would release the track and return to their normal lives. Months later, the trio, with the help of their equally talented children and some friends, are releasing a full album titled Skills Are Handy, Feel is Gold under the name Now Defunkt.

Macklin described how their group came together, explaining how their one project and a camping trip to the Joshua Tree where their daughters filmed the music video for the track, led them to exchange more ideas and fully realize what is now known as Now Defunkt. “My daughter Nikko and I, James and his daughter Amaris, and Steve and his daughter Anastasia all went out to the Joshua Tree to film this music video for a song called “Death Valley, Scotty”. As we sat around the campfire, we started coming up with ideas for other songs. My friend, Steve kept nagging, ‘Hey, we should do more.’ And I figured, ‘Hey, I’ve already checked ‘write and record a song’ off my bucket list. I’m good.’ But the COVID situation gave us the opportunity to really sit down and think, and from our own places of geographic isolation, we collaboratively created the next two songs, three songs, seven songs, then we said we should put out an album!”

With such a varied group of contributors, the sound of Now Defunkt is always evolving. Often, though they define with the Rock and Alternative genres, there are hints of Funk, Folk, Motown, Choral music and more throughout their album. “One of the interesting comments that we heard while working with a choir in Venezuela, the choir director said, ‘Your music is like listening to Led Zeppelin if Tim Burton was scoring a film. Your music is really cinematic.’ Our music is cinematic in the sense of trying to create stories. But there’s energy to it. There’s a mind to our music.”

The group’s album, Skills Are Handy, Feel is Gold, is a collection of songs, each with its own interesting and deeply motivated background. “One of my favorites is “Old Enough,” a song that my son Case Macklin wrote. He’s 22 years old,” Macklin explained. “It’s an introspective song looking back at growing up and being told, ‘Are you old enough? You’re not old enough.’ Now that he feels that he’s old enough, he’s questioning it and it has this sort of Motown-feel good sound and he’s actually rapping on the song with a friend, Nick Edney. They’ve been friends I think since they were seven years old. So it’s like two friends doing a song together, and there’s another friend by the name of Kya Barnes who sings the background vocals in the track, who just brings a flavor to it. And then there’s this really interesting trumpet part that weaves through the song, and then Steve puts in some pretty tasty Blues guitar.”

Some of the other songs include “Teachers,” written by Nikko Macklin, which is both a tribute to the amazing teachers who have been so fundamental in her life as well as a call-out to some of the more negative parts of the school system. Anastasia McMahon also contributed “Creeping Cthulhu,” which discusses the intricacies of relationships and the negative impacts of gas lighting. Macklin described this song as having a Joy Division feel to it. The recent protests and uprisings framed the song “Big Water” asking the question, ‘what does one do with their privilege in face of systemic racism and oppression.’  There are also songs such as “The Ballad of Billy Sunday and Madam May” and “Death Valley Scotty,” which have a more historical feel to them, creating fictional stories to describe interesting and somewhat unknown historical figures.

Currently, the group is working on putting out music videos and other media for the tracks in Skills Are Handy, Feel is Gold, all of which are being created by members of the Now Defunkt family. They are also working on making their music as accessible as possible so that the greatest number of people has access to the work they are doing. Now Defunkt hopes to continue putting out new projects and creating as much as they can in the near future.

Now Defunkt plans a virtual release happening for October 20, 2020Check out the music and social media platforms of Now Defunkt with the links below.

The Real Mack – Big Lit

Blog, Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Promo

The Real Mack returns to music after two-year hiatus with hard-hitting single ‘Big Lit’

PHILADEPHIA, PA – The number 25 has been a monumentally impactful number in the life of young Philadelphia artist The Real Mack … but not always in the most positive of ways. When he was young, his mother was murdered when she was only 25 years old. He and his brother had a rough childhood after that with a father who was incarcerated multiple times. Then when his brother was 25, he too, was murdered. It became almost too much for him to bear, and he turned away from music and any other form of artistic expression while battling demons of depression and anxiety. But as his own 25th birthday approached, he chose to look at it as a new opportunity – a chance to change the negative cycle and create something positive.

Out of that mission came the new album “25” which is dedicated to his mother and brother, “25” explores the strange coincidences and otherworldly experiences that have come in his life and how often those things are associated with the number 25.

“It’s kind of a scary thing for me being 25 right now,” he said. “That’s what this album is about. It’s more personal than anything I’ve ever recorded. There are some commercial songs on there but mostly, it’s very personal. I think it shows off my versatility, too. I can drop a song and it can be either the artist side of me or the raw Rap side of me. I can make a song where I’m singing and it’s completely R&B and Soul, or I can turn around and make a complete opposite song that’s Trap or Hip Hop or Club.”

The Real Mack said he first got his start in music when a friend of his started a Rap group in 2009. Although Mack wasn’t included in that group, it motivated him to want to pursue music. He would go on to record a song called “Cam Newton” that got the attention of another Philly artist named PnB Rock, and their ensuing collaboration went on to rake in more than 1.5 million streams. It wasn’t long after that when his brother was murdered however, and Mack took a two-year hiatus from music. But now, at age 25, he’s making a return with the new album – starting with the hard-hitting debut single “Big Lit, which is now available on all streaming platforms.

“It’s a Club record with an Up North but Down South kind of vibe,” Mack said. “I’m an Up North person but it has a Down South vibe, if you get what I mean. There’s a lot of energy, and I’m just basically talking about me being that guy. I’m being that bull, that dude, that big fish from the big six. I’m a big dog from 26th Street in South Philly, and this is the kind of song that when you’re lit, you get turnt up. It’s heavy.”

Mack said he hopes fans will appreciate the craftsmanship that went into creating the EP, and that he becomes known all around the world for being a high-quality hit maker.

Up and comer Luch Capo has taken 2020 by storm with his music, fashion and so much more

PHILADELPHIA, PA – Having already released two albums, three singles and an EP, Luch Capo’s year has been more than productive. Better yet, there’s still more to come. This seemingly unstoppable Hip Hop artist is truly taking off with more tracks than he knows what to do with.

A lyricist from the start, Luch began writing at a young age and after listening to artists like Tupac, he fell in love with the idea of making music. “I always loved putting words together. I used to be very into poetry and writing plays and stories. Then I heard Tupac for the first time and it just took off from there. My love for music just sprouted from there.”

Taking influence from artists such as Jay Z, Jay Cole and the aforementioned Tupac, as well as several other lyricists, Luch has had a long standing interest in beautiful words. This can be seen throughout his entire discography, all of which is inspired by his personal experiences and the world around him. “I want to be the kind of artist that you can always relate to, that you can put on when you get in the shower or while you’re getting ready for the day. If you’re having a bad day, you can put some Luch on, or if it’s a good day, you can put me on.”

Luch defines his music as smooth but jagged. Depending on which album you’re listening to, he presents a different side of himself through the music. “[Preliminary Hearing] is more of an introduction to myself. It is smoother and more laid back because that’s kind of how I am. I’m smoother, laidback. That was kind of just ‘This is who I am,’ sort of like a journal but with music. Really in Position is more boisterous, more in your face like I’ve earned the right to get a little heavier so to speak.”

The most recent thing that Luch has put out has been his EP, Gangster Meets Gentleman with his friend Wayne “aka” 7even Genovese. Featuring eight songs, the EP is homage to the traditional Hip Hop sound. “We wrote this album for the lyricist because I feel like nowadays, it’s more turn up music, trap drone and that kind of stuff. We kind of did something for the old school Hip Hoppers because I felt like they were being left out. We did it for them and had fun doing it.”

Not only is Luch a nonstop creator of music, he also has his own fashion line — Assigned Seat, which he hopes to grow alongside his brand and identity as a musician. Despite being such a hardworking and successful individual, he is also quite humble and more than grateful for the people that he works with, his manager especially.

Most recently, Luch and close friend MPRFeek are preparing to release their single “Branding and Trendsetting” in advance of their album La Familia, which is set to release on October 2. This album is very close to Luch’s heart and he is ecstatic to share it with the world. It is definitely something to look out for.
