The Royaies – Princesa

Blog, Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Videos

Multi-cultural power group The Royaies fuse Latin-inspired R&B with Reggaeton on debut hit single ‘Princesa’

TORONTO, ONTARIO, CANADA – The Royaies are a new and wildly versatile music group based out of Toronto. Comprised of two sets of brothers – Shyon (23) and Axel Kain (19), and Arvin The Poet (20) and Elijah (24) – who are cousins who share the same last name. Having explored music and pursued careers as artists individually for many years, the four came together in 2020 to form a group and are now ready to release their first single “Princesa.”

The Latin-inspired R&B groove is a sexy, slow jam that just feels good. With beautiful harmonies laid over the top of Latin-inspired guitar riffs, the song is immensely enjoyable and sets the perfect mood for a romantic night with a lover. It’s a song that perfectly introduces the group’s talent and versatility to the world, while also offering individual moments that display each member of the group’s individual personality. Arvin the Poet, for instance, has more of a melancholy viewpoint of lost love, whereas Axel offers insight into those butterflies that come when you make eye contact with a beautiful girl across the room. Elijah’s verses are more melodic and represent his softer personality and his ability to connect with listeners through strong emotion. And Shyon’s lyrics showcase a charisma and confidence that helps push the single beyond anything else being played across airwaves today.

“It started off as a love song to all the women in Toronto, but it grew into something that people can connect with worldwide,” Shyon said. “We do it in a unique style – really with multiple different delivery styles and different phrasing and vocals based off each of our own personalities. More than anything we wanted to show with this first song that we can make that Pop, Reggaeton kind of hit. But it does not stop here. We have so much more music that offers completely different vibes that we’ll be releasing soon, as well.”

Shyon and Axel started the journey as artists growing up in the thriving music scene of Toronto, learning from legends like Drake, The Weeknd, PARTYNEXTDOOR, and Roy Woods. About four years ago Arvin the Poet and Elijah moved from the Middle East to Toronto, and in the years since the four have been exploring new sounds and developing their own signature style. They display an impressive versatility born from not only exploring different types of music, but by fully immersing themselves in genres from all around the world. It’s a driving factor in the unique sound and style they bring to the table.

“The throwback influences of the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s can’t be ignored, as well as the value of international inspiration,” Shyon said. “We take great pride in being inspired by different cultures and global artists, as well.”

Today the Royaies have become a group poised to make real noise in the industry. They’re hungry, and their desire to succeed at all levels and walks of life will soon become apparent to an ever-widening global fanbase. Not only do they have the talent to back up their dreams, but they have a relentless drive that won’t allow them to settle for anything less than what they want.

GeoMike122 – Above

Blog, Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Promo

Teacher by day, musician by night, GeoMike offers intriguing insight on catchy new single ‘Above’

NEW YORK, NY – Electronic-driven, low-key rock vibes set against a tightly-reined frenetic energy are capturing the attention of new audiences all over the world with the new single “Above.” Coming from East Coast artist GeoMike122, the song showcases this talented musicians syncopated rap style over the top of a rapid-fire high-hat and ethereal synths for a sound that truly caresses the senses. It’s a song that makes you itch with energy. Reminiscent of a vibe made famous by David Bowie, the song explores the after-effects of a toxic and abusive relationship and offers listeners a sense of hope that there’s something brighter at the end of something tragic.

“It was inspired by my own experience of overcoming a toxic, abusive relationship,” GeoMike said. “In the song I compare it to a fog because that’s how I felt – like I was in a mental state of fox. The partner I was with was more negative and cynical than anything else, and it took a lot of light and faith to get me through that. In the song I talk about how the fog was burned off by the sun, and in the end I rose above those experiences. I hope that my ex finds faith and searches the divine to find something not of this world – something ‘above.’”

The song is the first off an upcoming album called “Michael Ciolino,” which is set to release on Oct. 22. It’s a project that this up-and-coming artist has been working on for the past few years in his spare time when not teaching third grade to students in the New York area. He has always had a love of music, and over the years has dabbled with different sounds and styles. Along the way he’s created a style that is certainly unique – something that he refers to as “Sound Pop.” It’s a sound that features an impressive blend of instrumentation and lyrics in ways that are equal parts intriguing and entertaining.

“I’m trying to have my music match where I want to go in life,” Mike said. “It’s inspiring and motivating and has you question things. It’s challenging. As a teacher – and really, just as my personality – I’m always questioning things. I understand why boxes exist, but I like to think outside the box, and my music is all about advocating for you to find your own voice. I think it’s really important to have that. Music has always been inspiring to me in that way, and that’s what I want to create and provide for others. That’s why I say it’s Sound Pop – it’s genre-less. I’m a teacher who loves doing this because I love motivating people and entertaining people. We’re in a cycle where people want something that’s more original and authentic, and that’s what I hope to bring to the table.”

Michelle Fabre – You Stole My Makeup

Blog, Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Promo

Fast-rising young artist Michelle Fabre drops another hit single with ‘You Stole My Makeup’

LONG ISLAND, NY – Michelle Fabre is different than any other female artist in the game today. Her voice is individual … unique. She’s not your cookie-cutter Pop princess or the typical raspy-voiced rocker. Instead, her vocal talents and music-making ability are genre-bending in the best of ways. Her versatility as an artist nods to some of her influences – such as Dua Lipa, Shawn Mendez, BTS, Amy Winehouse, Santana, Janis Joplin, Bob Dylan and more – but at the end of the day her originality shines through everything she does.

That originality takes center stage with her new 12-song album “Find Your Fire.” Exploring themes of persistence and passion, the album takes a close look at what it takes to realize one’s dreams. Fabre said it’s the kind of album that will help people “find what their passion is and use it to get out of hard situations.” A truly motivational project that injects listeners with the fuel to push forward through life’s difficulties, “Find Your Fire” is the kind of album that is destined to put Fabre on the international stage.

The latest release from that project is the hit single “You Stole My Makeup.” Inspired by an actual real-life situation in which a friend stole her makeup, the song is a Dance/Pop fusion that’s filled with upbeat energy and just a fun song to enjoy with friends. It’s already been getting a lot of radio play along the East Coast with more than 10 stations putting it on regular rotation, and has been used by more than a dozen different TikTok influencers in various videos.

“I intended for this one to be very dance-able and something that you would see on today’s top hits,” she said. “Usually, I like to lean a little toward that 80s sound that’s also very popular today, but this one is a little more current with a strong hook.”

At only 24-years-old, Fabre has stamped herself as an eclectic singer and songwriter who demands attention. She’s been creating quite a buzz among industry insiders and fans alike since she was age 4, when she was featured on her first national commercial for Eskimo Pie. Since that time she’s performed on commercials for other major brands including Zwinky Cuties, Long Island Aquarium, Sam’s Club, Goodyear, Hertz Corp., Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader, and Nu Skin. At age 12 hit producer Jimmy Wisner (who has produced hit records for Barbra Streisand, Tommy James, Neil Sadaka and more) took a liking to her voice and used her on backup vocals for many of his projects. Fabre has also been a regular performer in musical theater in and around New York in shows such as Aladdin, Guys and Dolls, and Oliver.

Rasmina – Power of Flower

Blog, Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Promo

World-renowned jewelry artist Rasmina blends sounds of East and West against Ethnic Jazz and Rock undertones on new singles

BAKU, AZERBAIJAN – A unique blend of Eastern and Western music is making its way to an international audience from Azerbaijan artist Rasmina Gurbatova. Known globally for her impressive talents as an artist – most especially put on display through her original jewelry that is sold all over the world – this young woman showcases an adept ability to bring a variety of influences together into an original sound that is equal parts intriguing and inspiring.

Her two latest singles are “I Love You” and “Power of Flower,” the latter of which will be paired with a new line of jewelry that she is getting ready to release. The concept behind the song, and the new jewelry line, is to help women embrace their independence and find balance between the feminine and masculine energies they’re faced with on a daily basis.

“It’s about learning how to use your power and discovering different ways to direct it,” Rasmina said. “The song itself is about a woman who finds this power in herself. I’ve developed a jewelry collection of the same name that will feature 16 different types of flowers – all linked to different personalities of women. Every woman has their own personality and can choose the flower that fits her best. They’ll be able to go through a personality test online before they’re paired with a flower and the piece of jewelry. Ultimately the idea behind the jewelry and this song is to help women learn how to have self-respect and to know how to use the different energies and power within themselves.”

Rasmina said she’s been composing music for the past 10 years, albeit as a hobby on the side. Raised in a culture that frowns on choosing music as a profession – especially for women – Rasmina often had to fight for her right to pursue her passion for art. She went to a diplomacy school and has worked in various positions at the World Bank, all the while creating music and jewelry in her spare time. But in 2011 she decided to take a bold leap of faith and switched her career. She created her own jewelry brand, and in the years since she has accomplished success on a global level. Her jewelry is sold all over the world via her website www.resm.com, and as she has seen success with that art medium it has emboldened her to try to connect with others through different mediums, as well – most specifically music.

“I wore various roles in my life, but I am never as happy and fulfilled as I am when I compose and sing,” she said. “I write about whatever inspires me – sorrow or pain or joy. When I write music is when I feel completely myself, and I hope people see the authenticity and the story behind it. Every song I write tells a story. I want to be different – not necessarily for the sake of being intentionally different, but because I like exploring different sounds. I just enjoy making music, and it’s an artistic outlet that I want to share with other people.”

YB Linkz – Feanin

Blog, Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Promo, Videos

YB Linkz continues to ride wave of success with hit summer club banger ‘Feanin’

BROOKLYN, NY – A hot new club banger from East Coast artist YB Linkz has been creating quite a buzz throughout New York and expanding regions thanks to its upbeat vibes and sexy sound. “Feanin” is a song that YB describes as “dirty Pop with a Hip-Hop feel.” It’s a song he said feels like a strip club kind of song, but with a twist that includes R&B vibes that make it more smooth than raw. Featuring fellow East Coast artist A. Vinchi, the song serves as a platform for the two artists to display their impressive flow as they bounce back-and-forth with raps that explore their mutual desire for a gorgeous woman in the club.

“Basically we’ve created a concept where we’re both lusting over her,” YB Linkz said. “He’s the player and I’m the smooth guy. He wants to marry her, but I’m just trying to get with her. It’s kind of raunchy in some ways, if you think about it, but the vibe is just a fun club banger. It’s a hit, for sure.”

Originally known by the name Linxy Boi, and then eventually Linkz, today YB Linkz has developed a reputation in the industry as one of the hottest independent artists active around the world. It doesn’t matter who’s track he’s on, he absorbs the vibe and becomes more than merely another collaboration. Working alongside of the some of the biggest names in the industry, YB Linkz has developed a reputation as the go-to guy for hits.

To understand his genius as an artist, YB Linkz is quit to point new fans to his Caribbean roots and a unique sound and style that’s been inspired by artists such as Chris Brown, Rihanna and Busta Rhymez. He also uses inspiration from EDM and other various genres to make a fusion of sound that can only be described as original – or, in his words, “Jumbalaya Flow.”

“I want my music to be big,” he said. “At its purest form its Pop, but less Backstreet Boys and more dirty Pop. I am singing melodies and giving you a story, but It’s not a cookie-cutter kind of sound. I’m putting thought into what I’m creating and I’m speaking with people and giving them great stories. I have that Drake kind of sound, but I had it before Drake was even a thought – I’ve been doing that since the mid-2000s when I first started recording. I had to switch my style up and have done some things differently over the years – recently going to more of a rap style. I like to battle rap, and you can tell that with my flow. But more than anything I’m just going to be me. I cross lyrical content with keep the same flow I’m known for, and I’m Caribbean and I apply that to my music, as well. I’m taking all that with me into the studio and making crazy-ass hits.”

Buddha’s Sister – All Your Noise

Blog, Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Promo

Buddha’s Sister releases title track for her

new album ‘All Your Noise’

VANCOUVER, WA – The latest album from underground artist Buddha’s Sister is an impressive blend of genres with an EDM vibe. It’s a song that embraces ethereal House music, albeit with a bit of an alt rock edge. “All Your Noise” is an album and song that explores the effects of negative thoughts in combination with everyday experiences and how those thoughts can corrode an otherwise healthy relationship with oneself, others and the world around us.

“If you’re going to continue to think about only bad things, you’re not focusing on being productive.  Lift up your mind however you can, even if that just means physically looking to the sky” Buddha’s Sister said. “There’s a lot of noise going on in the world right now and this song explores the effects of negativity in conjunction with working to keep a positive outlook.”

Her newest album “All Your Noise” is slated for release across all streaming platforms on Oct. 1. Inspired by many of the issues happening now throughout the world and over the past couple of years, the album is a collection of topics that explore positivity and the escape from dark thoughts and depressive moods and are prevalent and unavoidable.  It’s a project that Buddha’s Sister considered her best work yet, rhythmic, poetic and melodic with sounds that invite listeners to vibe with.

“My sound is influenced by a lot of different styles and genres,” Buddha’s Sister said. “I am a music enthusiast – I listen to everything, if it grooves, I can dig it.  Ultimately, I like to express myself in a poetically lyrical way that’s poignant, unique and which hopefully helps to paints a picture for the listener where they can find themselves and relate.”

Buddha’s Sister has developed her unique style of expression over the last 20 years of song-writing and performing.  She is known for being an artist who is honest, authentic and expressive. Her music showcases a woman with a free spirit who endeavors to help others look at the brighter side of things and use music as a means of finding peace in the midst of their tumultuous lives.

“I have a lot of experience dealing with unfavorable and difficult situations, and I, of course, cannot help but express that through my music,” she said. “Yet while all my experiences have undoubtedly shaped me and, to some degree, my perception of the world, music has always been my center.  I have always held the artists who have inspired me in such a high regard, that if my music can speak to and help others find a commonality in knowing we are not alone, then that’s really the greatest thing I could hope to achieve – that and a steady head bob.”

Schyler O’Neal – IOU

Blog, Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Videos

Well known producer steps out from behind the scenes to drop impressive debut single ‘IOU’

Schyler O’Neal is a name you’re going to want to know about.

Having served behind the scenes as a producer for many years – most significantly as the developer of the primitive sound for fast-rising young artist Giveon (who was featured on Drake’s new album “Certified Lover Boy”) – O’Neal is now ready to bring his impressive talents to the forefront with his latest single “IOU”

Showcasing an impressive fusion of R&B and Pop vibes, “IOU” brings the kind of high-quality production value that will immediately make audiences sit up and pay attention. From the opening notes there’s no questions that O’Neal is an artist who means business and who has the kind of talent and experience to stand head-and-shoulders above the rest. He’s destined to rise above the crowded industry and stand out in ways that will have global audiences clamoring for more.

“What makes people unique is when they discover how to express who they are as a person,” O’Neal said. “Everyone has their own unique personality, and I started to discover how to reflect my personality through my music. The style of it and the musicality  shows it. I’m into the craft of songwriting and music production. I think my sound can be appreciated across multiple generations. There are things I draw from older music that inspires me, but there’s also a lot that inspires me from newer trends. Ultimately I think I’ve found something that’s true to me and doesn’t feel forced, and this song is a good combination of who I am and what I can do.”

O’Neal said “IOU” is about a relationship that ends when one person decides to leave without any warning. You don’t want them to leave, but after they do you later realize they did you a favor. The story of the song will be reinforced by a video that also showcases O’Neal’s dedication to high quality production. As the video follows O’Neal from the end of the relationship to the year afterward when his life gets better, fans will be immediately drawn into the imagery and impressed by the amazing visuals. And as the song comes to a climax, the video invites viewers into a mansion with a big party.

“It’s a fun track, but it’s also a song that shows my vulnerability as an artist,” O’Neal said. “The concept of what I’m talking about is current, and I’m still feeling the effects of that last relationship. I want people to sense that vulnerability. If I tell my story in its truest form, people who have similar stories can relate to it. But even with this heartbreak type of vibe, the song is upbeat, and I think people will be really grooving to this song. There’s a juxtaposition of joy and vulnerability. And more than anything it’s a way to let people see who I am as a person and find a way to genuinely connect with me.”

O’Neal said “I.O.U.” should drop in early October, and that he’s already in development with other singles that could land before the end of the year.

King K – Now or Never

Blog, Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Promo

King K expertly blends R&B and EDM on emotional new track ‘Now or Never’

TORONTO, CANADA – A slow-jam, EDM-inspired R&B vibe is making its way to the world with the hot new single from Canadian artist King K. “Now or Never” is a groovy new single that feels like a new take on the sound made famous by The Weeknd, albeit with a unique sound and style that is all King K. Featuring auto-tuned vocals set against a catchy beat and electronic melodies, “Now or Never” is this young artist’s take on a new approach to R&B.

“R&B is something I was so attracted to and it’s a sound that I wanted to recreate,” King K said. “I’m inspired by the new wave of sound I’ve been hearing lately, and I decided to use that to create a relationship-type song that has an element of heartbreak. This is a song that says you need to commit or it’ll never happen. It’s a song about love and heartbreak and regret and a bunch of different emotions that we all go through.”

Telling the story of a couple moving back-and-forth through a relationship, the song cleverly incorporates a phone call woven throughout to emphasize the modern-day tale of a love destined to lose. The story features a man and woman who never can quite seem to get on the same page, and eventually the man walks away from the relationship. When the woman realizes what she’s lost and tries to restore the relationship, it’s too late and she’s left realizing just how much she’s lost.

King K said it’s a song that he knows will connect with a lot of people around the world, and he’s excited for people to hear his new sound. Having developed a career as an artist in the hip-hop and rap world, King K is eager to bring about a new sound and style with his exploration of R&B and EDM. A true fan of storytelling in all its forms, he weaves intricate tales with clever wordplay and emotional lyrics in ways that has both industry insiders and fans buzzing.

“Essentially what I want to bring is music that makes people feel something and appeals to different groups,” he said. “I’ve been fascinated by so many different types of artists. My big three are Drake, Lil Wayne and Chris Brown – all of whom didn’t stick to one thing but branched out and were able to execute many different styles in amazing ways. Like them, I don’t want to be categorized as a one-dimensional artist. This is my stuff and this is what I can do, and it’s something that’s available to multiple audiences.”

King K said he’s planning to follow up “Now or Never” with a full album called “Universal” sometime in early 2022.

Cold Ca$e could be spending his life in prison. He and his family are making music instead

Blog, Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Promo

Cold Ca$e could be spending his life in prison. He and his family are making music instead

As Thomas Sipes describes it, he’s lived a “hellacious” life. It was only a few years ago that Sipes, better known as East Coast rapper Cold Ca$e, found himself staring down 99 years in prison. He faced a third felony charge in California, a state where a “third strike” can mean life behind bars.“During that whole time it was like a transition time for me,” says Sipes. “I was trying to mature as a person and a father and I was trying to get out of the whole hustle game, get out of selling drugs and get away from street life. I was just trying to get legal, start doing things right for my family and look out for my kids.”In the midst of his legal troubles, Sipes turned to writing music as a means to vent as he hoped he wouldn’t spend the rest of his life in prison. And he wasn’t just facing trouble in California; Sipes also had pending cases in Las Vegas and Pennsylvania. He managed to beat the case in California, took plea deals in others, and started to turn his life around after spending five years on parole. He’s now focusing on a burgeoning music career. His upcoming EP, titled “My Story,” looks back at a life spent in and out of jail as Sipes – and his family – continue their rise from the ashes. “I’ve been in prison, been raided by the DEA, had my kids taken away from me,” he says. “Finally I guess I had an epiphany, woke up and said this life isn’t for me anymore. I need to do something better.”Sipes, a native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, was first and foremost a poet and writer. He’s worked as a magician and illusionist and says the performing arts are in his soul and blood. He knows his music will offend some but stresses he’s just writing about his own experiences and isn’t one of the “studio gangsters.”It’s become a family project, too. Along with his wife, “Mean $treak,” and their 10 and 12-year-old sons, known as “Baby Gangsta” and “$¢-money$,” the four artists form the first family of Irish descent rappers who are known collectively as “The IRA,” or Irish Rapping Americans. “It’s awesome because it gives us an opportunity to stay together as a family, to work with each other, to be together doing something legal,” Sipes says. He and his wife grew up in the 90s in the midst of the East Coast vs. West Coast rap era, something that influences each of their unique styles. The kids, meanwhile, grew up listening to artists like Eminem. Each of them writes their own music and family members often feature each other on their projects. In all, the family has released at least 20 songs in the last few years and My Story will feature some of their latest work. “99 Years” is an unreleased song written when Sipes was fighting the felony charge for growing marijuana in California. “My Story” is another unreleased track that will appear on the project. A third track from the EP is “Uncivilized,” which details Sipes’ time in and out of prison and other institutions that changed his life forever and left him feeling “uncivilized.”“Stacks” is another new song. It won’t be on the EP, but it covers Sipes’ time selling drugs in Pennsylvania and laundering money. “We could make some drug money, go buy a house for 10 thousand dollars and turn it into a trap house real quick or turn it into something else and flip it and make fifty, sixty thousand on top of that,” he says. Other releases by Sipes and family include “Swine,” on which Sipes expresses his distaste for corrupt police, and “Poverty,” about coming from nothing and having something as an adult. There’s also “Judgement Day,” which is about a snitch making controlled buys from Sipes that spawned his first police raid in Pittsburgh. “Some of the music may be offensive for some people, some people may feel it’s too violent and the music talks too much about crack, drugs, guns and street life,” Sipes says. “I know not everyone is going to relate to this type of stuff and these topics. But I know there are a lot of people out there who can relate to being locked up and dealing drugs for a living and being taken away from your family by law enforcement. I know that there’s going to be critics who say and act like we never sold crack or lived a life like that. But I’d say to those people I did my time in prison and I’ve got a rap sheet a mile long. Court records don’t lie. It’s all real. It happened. Instead of writing a biography – which I considered – I’m telling a story with my music. We as a family are telling our stories. We’re expressing ourselves through these lyrics, even our kids, who were ripped out of bed in the middle of the night by the DEA and taken away from their mom and dad. They have their own stories to tell. Now they’re telling their real life stories through music.”Sipes just wants people to give the music a listen, especially if they like “real gangster rap.” And don’t just listen to Cold Ca$e – listen to everybody in the family. As for the critics who might question allowing his kids to rap about such mature subjects, Sipes says the same things are widely available on television and online. “If we could keep them with us performing and talking about these types of subjects through music rather than actually trying to go out and live a life like that, I think it’s safer for them to express themselves through music rather than go out and live a life like we did and then have to go to jail or get locked up,” he says. “I would rather them express themselves through music and know that you’re telling a story, it’s like a movie. You’re telling a story about your past but you’re not really going out there killing people or shooting people. A lot of this is lyrically expressing ourselves. That’s the most important thing.”
