KTL Drank – Future

Central African artist KTL Drank makes vibey trap music with deep soul

BOTSWANA – A new artist out of Central Africa is beginning to make a name on the international stage, thanks to some hot new music.

KTL Drank is a trap music artist based out of Botswana. Under his independent record label Swoosh Moola Records, he is releasing a steady stream of music that is not only gaining buzz among his fans in Africa, but is also starting to generate notoriety among fans of Hip Hop in other regions of the world.

His newest single, “Future,” is set to propel him even further onto the world stage. A kind of anthem that announces to the world that he’s here to stay, the song talks about a specific lifestyle that he wants to embrace and which he encourages others to chase after.

“It’s about going forward and no stopping,” he said. “I’m here and I’m not gonna stop. The sound of the song really pushes those lyrics because the bass keeps on going and going and the sound is very modern and in tune with what’s happening in music right now.”

Like many other independent artists today, KTL is doing almost everything himself. From compositions to lyric writing to production, and even mixing and mastering. This young artist is a multi-talented musician. And as he’s worked on honing his craft, he has developed a unique sound that he calls “vibey trap music.”

“It’s not going to be crazy like some of the other hard-hitting trap music out there,” he said. “But it is all unique. It’s more like the kind of music you listen to when you’re hanging on the weekend with your friends. It’s vibey.”

KTL said he was first inspired by music at a young age and remembers growing up in a household that always had music on. As he grew up and looked for local musicians to connect with, he realized there weren’t too many in Botswana, and the few musicians there weren’t creating the kind of music he was into. So he began to create his own music – setting up a studio in his house and piecing together all the instruments and software he needed to make it happen. He chose to call his production company Swoosh Moola as a way of nodding to how he likes to do business.

“When I’m doing business with somebody, I want to do something smooth like that,” he said. “I don’t want to have delays with anybody, so swoosh means it’s happening fast but smooth.”

Audiences and fans who listen to his music will definitely make that connection, and they’ll soon be able to hear more of his one-of-a-kind sound in the weeks and months to come.

King Finnesse – Party Started

King Finnesse Turns It Up For 2020 WIth His Latest Single “Party Started”

With a lyrical flow that embraces substance and purpose, Los Angeles-based rapper King Finnesse sets out to redefine Hip Hop with his empowering blend of beats and bars.

Growing up in between New York and New Jersey, King Finnesse’s musical beginnings began in his dad’s studio. It was here where he would cut his teeth learning the art of freestyle. He cites his father as a pivotal figure who influenced him to take the road less travelled, and to create music with a message. Consequently, purpose and emotion echo throughout his music, which are underpinned by an aura of positive and good time vibes.

Some treat music as a pastime, while for others — it’s therapy. This sentiment rings true for King Finnesse, as his passion for the craft has seen him intern for Def Jam, and toured with the likes of Dave East. He also has a track out with LouGotCash, titled ‘Make It Back’ which premiered in 2018. His forthcoming single, ‘Party Started’ is set to drop in 2020 alongside his ‘Finnesse The World’ project, and will be available across all major streaming platforms.

Jiggz & Damis – Red Room

Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Videos

Party vibes take center stage with club banger
‘Red Room’ from South Florida natives Jiggz & Damis

MIAMI, FL – Three South Florida friends with an ear for great music and a talent for connecting with people have joined forces to create a genre-defining new sound. Artists Jiggz and Damis together with producer Ray Ali have dropped a new single called “Red Room” that is quickly becoming one of the most talked about club bangers throughout the South. Its upbeat vibe and party-time theme is connected with fans from all walks of life and is poised to be the kind of viral sensation that spreads like wildfire around the globe.

The trio of performers first came together about three years ago when a mutual friend introduced Jiggz and Damis to Ali. The two rappers had been working together on music off-and-on, and when they stepped into Ali’s studio it was like lightning struck.

“That first day we started making music and everything just clicked,” Ali said. “We’ve been making music ever since and we’re working on our third project together. The sound just keeps evolving and it’s cool to see this fusion of melodies and high lyricism come together. It’s a whole different vibe that people haven’t heard before. Our beats are current but we’re also bringing out a whole different vibe. We are confident in our sound. If it gets heard by the masses, it will blow.”

At an early age, Jiggz and Damis knew they were destined for greatness with music. Jiggz performed frequently for large crowds, and Damis discovered early on an ability to bring words to life through his expansive vocabulary. When they linked up with Ali and immediately fused their talents together, magic happened. After that first day of work in the studio, the trio started talking about what they wanted to represent with their music and the legacy they wanted to leave on the world. The idea of high-quality diamonds was brought up as a metaphor for the type of music they wanted to create shortly after the idea of Diamond Global came about. Not just an independent label, Diamond Global will also encompass multiple other entertainment endeavors – from short films and videos to clothing lines and production for other artists.

“It’s our way of encouraging everybody out there to be the best version of themselves,” Damis said. “Not everybody is a perfect diamond, but everybody is a diamond and is a perfect version of themselves. And that’s what we want to show with our music – that people can be themselves. We want to motivate people to do better and to strive to be the best they can be. The whole reason we linked up together is because we saw that all of us have talent and we all want to strive to be better every day and push each other.”

In addition to “Red Room,” the trio has also been riding waves of success off their EP “DMND Vol. 1” as well as their debut single “Regardless.” With the release of “Red Room” and a music video that’s about to drop for that song, the group knows they’re about to become nationally recognized artists. They’re already hard at work on a follow-up EP with the intention of creating a “collection of what our sound is” over the course of multiple projects.

Roetarantino – Hard Living

Industry Spotlight, Music, Videos

Raspy rapper R.O.E. launches next wave of success
with new single ‘Hard Living’

PLEASANT, TX –  Up-and-coming rap star and entertainer Cordarro “R.O.E.” Wright – AKA Roetarantino – is a hot new talent out of East Texas whose one-of-a-kind sound is the kind of music that people all of the world need to sit up and pay attention to.

His newest single, “Hard Living,” is a track that simultaneously displays his unique talent and original sound while also giving fans an inside look at the life experiences that have molded him into the promising young artist that he is today. Growing up in the unruly parts of East Texas, R.O.E. dealt with a dysfunctional household with little parental guidance. But he was born with a gift for music, and his father had him on stages performing in front of audiences as a young boy. By age 12, he was writing his own lyrics and rhymes and by age 18, he knew he was destined to be a global entertainer. Since that time, he has written songs about the things he saw in the streets and the things that intrigued him about the lifestyles of true hustling.

“This single is basically the story of my life,” he said. “It’s about when I was young and had a rough coming up. I think there are a lot of people who can relate to that. It’s a struggle song about real situations, and I think it will get a lot of steam out there when people hear it and know that they can connect with it. More than anything, I wanted a song that would let fans get in touch with who I am and give them a little more personal information about who I am.”

Described as a “laid-back riding track,” “Hard Living” showcases R.O.E.’s uniquely raspy voice. At times he harmonizes with the melodies on the track, making for an original sound that is rarely found in the music industry today. It’s a style that R.O.E. said he’s worked hard at perfecting over the years. Learning his craft was important to him, and he modeled some of his mannerisms from artists who inspired him over the years. He paid attention to the industry and acquired the art of knowing how to brand himself as an artist. Taking all of those things, he applied them to his own unique take on music and adopted the moniker “Real Ova Everything.”

“My dream is to be an international artist and entertainer whose legacy is built from the ground up,” he said. “Success to me is doing what you love to do and getting paid for it. Living your dream. It doesn’t have to be with music – just whatever your dream is. Mine just happens to be music, and I want my music to be known for representing the people who come from nothing and attain success. You don’t have to be born with money. You can make it if you work for it. So I want my music to speak for the world and give them hope that they can do it if they never give up. My slogan is: ‘There’s no expiration date on your success.’”

R.O.E. said “Hard Living” is available across all streaming platforms and is just one of the six songs off his first EP “Broke Pockets, Rich Dreams.” A follow-up EP is slated to release in the next two months.

Zalarella – Run for Your Money

Industry Spotlight, Music, Videos

New Sensation, Zalarella offers a rebel vibe with her new single ‘Run For Your Money’

BROOKLYN, NY – Nearly everyone is familiar with the story of Cinderella – the young girl who is abused by her evil stepmother, adopted by a fairy godmother, granted a magical evening during which she falls in love with a prince, and ultimately finds her “happily ever after.” It’s a beautiful tale of an underdog whose rags-to-riches journey serves as a metaphor for attaining success and fulfilling your dreams.

That’s exactly the kind of story this Brooklyn native is telling. This R&B artist is one of the fastest-rising talents on the East Coast, and she’s fully embracing the Cinderella metaphor by adopting the stage name Zalarella. And like Cinderella, she had given up on her dreams for a while but found a renewed hope for the future when her new single “Run For Your Money” began to receive a lot of attention from new audiences.

“I’ve been through many mishaps and struggles and because of that, I feel like I’m the urban version of Cinderella,” she said. “I’ve gone through a lot of growing pains throughout the years”.

Her first single, ‘Run For Your Money’ is a song that touches on feeling emotional emptiness in a relationship after longing for it for so long. It’s a dark, compelling and edgy R&B type of feel that talks about no longer wasting your time on a guy that doesn’t value you. I’m encouraging others not to wait around for a call or for the love and affection of a man that doesn’t see your worth. Don’t feel sorry for yourself and wait for something that doesn’t exist.”

Endless obstacles and lack of support took its toll on her throughout the years – so much that she felt compelled to walk away from music completely for a long period of time. As fate would have it, her true calling came back to surface.

“It took a lot of soul-searching and evolving before I could come back to music,” she said. “But eventually, I realized I couldn’t make everyone happy. I don’t want to limit myself because of what others think are my limits.

She concludes, “I’ve been through a lot in my life and that gives me inspiration to share my life lessons. That alone gives me a unique voice that can connect with others. I’m marching to my own beat – that’s what’s in my heart. I can inspire others to do the same.”

Abblaze – High Life

Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Promo, Videos

Afro-beats artist Abblaze introduces new with new EP ‘Rhythms & Heartbreaks’

NEWARK, NJ – There are many unique qualities that combine to make up the impressive artistry of East Coast musician Abblaze. For starters, he’s an Afro-beat artist who was born in America but grew up in Nigeria. And most of all, he believes in the healing power of music – so much so that he creates his one-of-a-kind sound as a way to produce a cure for the various maladies that might affect people around the world.

“I want my music to be known as a cure for feeling down, especially for the females,” Abblaze said. “If you feel like there’s no way out or if a guy is doing you wrong, my music is the cure for that. I also have conscious music sometimes because I needed that in my life and I want to give that to younger generations. More than anything, I have a new sound that is relevant for now and it’s groovy. I like melodies a lot and if you’re feeling down, you can put on one of my songs and it’ll put you in a good mood. I like balance. That’s how life is. If you’re feeling down and want to be happy, listen to one of my songs. Or if you’re wondering why guys think a certain way, my songs can help provide an answer. I also sing about moving around and fashion and different takes on culture – I have that balance, too.”

That diversity is put on full display through Abblaze’s EP “Rhythms & Heartbreaks.” With a vibe that fully embraces the Afro-beats for which he has become known, the project features a combination of love songs and heartbreak songs. Two singles from the EP have already been making waves among fans and are rapidly making their way across the U.S. The first is “High Life” which Abblaze said pays homage to his love of marijuana.

“The name says it all,” he said. “When I’m feeling down or depressed, I usually turn to marijuana. That’s what the song is about. I do Afro-beats which came out of the high life in Ghana and Nigeria. So in a lot of ways, this is a song for my African fans, too. But mostly, it’s just a song that says I’m a big fan of marijuana. Whenever I need to get my mind right or when things get a little fuzzy around me, I smoke some marijuana and I rediscover myself.”

The other single from the project is “My Number One Love” which Abblaze said is inspired by the “best girl I’ve ever met.” The Afro-beat love song praises the woman of his dreams and goes about detailing the good parts of her and how she has taken over his heart.

Both of these singles and the EP showcase how Abblaze is one of the most consistent, upcoming Afro-beat artists in recent years. He’s gaining outstanding critical acclaim for his works and performances, and many have said that his sound is new, unique and versatile.

“As an Afro-beats artist, I don’t think anyone in America is doing what I’m doing,” he said. “There are a couple of people who are popular in that space right now, but I’m the only one who knows both the Nigerian culture and the American culture first-hand. I have the best of both worlds. I also grew up in bad areas, so I know what’s going on in the streets. All of that combined gives my sound a mixture of Nigerian roots with an American lifestyle that’s grounded in the streets.”
