Flyght Club – Olivia

International artist Shauvik Sharan explores diverse range of sounds and styles with new single ‘Olivia’

LOS ANGELES, CA – A contemporary music project that has its origins in India and has fully bloomed through the influences of American Pop Culture is making its way to the masses from up-and-coming young artist Shauvik Sharan, AKA Flyght Club. His music prioritizes extreme versatility while showcasing a dynamic range over all the popular genres of today’s industry. Every song is made to cater to a different type of mood and emotion.

His latest single is a song called “Olivia,” which will be available across all digital streaming platforms on March 30. The chill Indie-Pop vibe lays the foundation for a mellow yet uplifting song that displays the intense immediate infatuation one feels when meeting a stranger and instantly establishing a connection. The electronic elements beautifully convey the heat of the moment, while the melody justifies the impracticality of the situation and pairs perfectly with a beat that represents the strong, flowing anxiousness that accompanies such a moment.

“The feeling of meeting a stranger and immediately seeing your possible significant other in them is so common yet so rare,” Sharan said. “I met a girl last year and fell head-over-heels for her in a very short period of time. There was just an instant sense of familiarity I felt with her, but it was too soon to tell anyone about it so I decided to make a song about it. Every song I write is different. I might want to talk about love at some point, and another song might be a social message. And every song I make caters to a different genre and audience. I’m extremely diverse and versatile with each song. One might be upbeat and Pop, the next one might be rap, the next one rock … you can never classify me into any one particular genre. It just depends on my mood when I’m creating. It’s that diversity of lyrics and style and singing that makes my sound so unique.”

Sharan grew up in Pune, India, and decided to move to Los Angeles about five years ago to pursue a career in music. His early influences in music were classic rock artists such as Led Zeppelin, Eric Clapton and Pink Floyd, and it was because of them that he first picked up the guitar. He played for many years as a guitarist in bands in India, and eventually decided ot get into electronic music and start DJ-ing as the scene started growing in his city. After a couple years playing in rock bands and winning DJ competitions, Sharan decided to move to LA to test his skills in the hub of the music industry. It was there that he mastered the art of production and engineering, as well as singing and songwriting. This is what gave birth to “Flyght Club” – a name that is based on the concept of anyone who is trying to rise above the challenges of life and achieve their goals. Anyone who supports that vision of success is a member of the Flyght Club, he said.

Dutch – Clarity

Blog, Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Videos

Abstract rap pairs with intriguing melodies on new EP ‘Feel Something’

DALLAS, TX – Dutch from Dallas is an artist who loves to get people hyped. He has sounds and styles made for all types of people all around the world – upbeat and happy music, or vibes for those who are in the dumps and feeling down. By talking about his own lows in life he helps to inspire others, and his diverse musical offerings take people in whatever mood they might find themselves in and move them into a more positive frame of mind.

That diversity is put on full display with his latest EP, “Feel Something,” which is currently available across all streaming platforms. Across six songs, Dutch gives and abstract offering of rap without any big ego.

“It’s just good music,” he said. “I’m showing people what I can do with music and where I’m coming from. People can listen to this project and get a feel of where I’m coming from. I’m a guy who is just doing what I want to do. And whatever mood people might be in or relatable experience, I want to have a song for it.”

The debut single from the project is a song called “Clarity.” A music video for the single was recently released, and like the song is also abstract and psychedelic. It’s a hype song that Dutch said serves as a type of anthem for anyone in the world who needs to give themselves a break and accept forgiveness.

“It’s about freeing myself and forgiving myself and realizing some things about myself and being willing to make changes,” he said. “The video is very abstract and shot here in Dallas. I wanted to bring the city life of Dallas to the forefront. I feel like we have a nice downtown setting, so there are a lot of shots of downtown and of me roaming the streets and subways, rapping and dancing and just being free.”

Dutch said he first started his journey as a full-time musician when he was younger. He first played the drums, and as he got older he and his brother started a garage band with one of their neighbors. They covered early 2000s punk rock bands, and over time his curiosity with music evolved into learning about rap and wanting to learn how to write and rhyme. He began to study artists like Future and Kid Cudi and Pharrell because he loved how bold they came on the track. He dived head-first into perfecting his craft, and over time developed a signature sound and style that is undeniably unique.

“I think what makes me stand out is that I’m able to pop through different genres and I’m diverse with melodies and instrumentals,” he said. “I feel like I can do it all with any type of beat. I write about my highs and lows and the love I have for the sound and rhythm of beats. I think I’ll continue with this music for as long as I can because it helps me deal with highs and lows of my life.”

KG Kriid – Smokin’

Blog, Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Promo, Videos

KG Kriid offers chill vibe for stress-filled audiences worldwide with new single ‘Smokin’

MANSFIELD, OH – In Damarias Fuller’s, “Kriid” is a word that’s often on the tip of his lips. It’s a word his brother made up as a synonym for the moments in life when something is great. If he were to see some flowers on the side of the road, or if he was having a great day, they would be “Kriid” flowers or he’d be having a “Kriid” day. It’s a word that represents a way of life, and anyone who comes alongside him and embraces that way of life is part of his Kriid Gang.

His music is the through-point of the Kriid Gang, and he inspires people all over the world with new sounds and styles born from a life of making music. His latest single, “Smokin’,” is a straight vibe ready-made to help people relieve stress and let loose at the end of a tough day.

“If you’re going through some stress or your stressed, just roll up and smoke your stress away,” KG Kriid said. “It’s like a spiritual song for people who stress out and go through hard times. It’s a song that just says, ‘Sit back and take a breather and relax and think about stuff.’ Inhale and exhale.”

The chill vibe of the song features some melodic undertones that serve as a perfect foundation for his equally chill vocals. It’s just the most recent example of how diverse he is as an artist. Over the course of his young career he’s shown the world how he can sing, rap, play the piano, mix and master, produce, compose, write, engineer, and just about anything else that one might associate with a career in the music industry. Chris Brown is his No. 1 inspiration, and he said he hopes to emulate the R&B legend’s career by creating songs that showcase his own “crazy vocals.”

“I make positive, chill music,” he said. “I make music to help people to feel and understand there are other people going through the same things they’re going through. With my music, I can change others hopefully. Music is my everything, and I know how it can help others, too.”

Following “Smokin’,” KG Kriid said he’s already hard at work on an album called “Pain, which he expect to release later this year. He also recently released a video for “Smokin’,” which features fellow artist and his older brother, Tae Da Khid. KG Kriid has a feature on Tae Da Khid’s single “God’s Child,” as well.

A.C. – The Journey

Blog, Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Videos

Hip Hop purist and emcee A.C. Thompson drops inspirational debut single ‘My Journey’

DAYTONA BEACH, FL – Diquon “A.C.” Thompson Sr. is a new-school artist with an old-school soul. His stage name “A.C.” (Artistic Creation) is the perfect description of the kind of original sound and style he brings to the table. On top of that, he writes lyrics that relate to the people. He knows what people have gone through and he uses his past experiences to inspire others to overcome any trial or tribulation that might come their way.

“You’re either part of the solution or part of the problem,” A.C. said. “I already made my choice, and I’m sharing what I had to do to get to where I’m at and what’s my goal next with my debut single, ‘My Journey.’ It’s the story of the beginning, middle and present of my life, and I think people will be able to relate to me through the whole song. I’m from Maryland and my whole life so far has been drugs and the struggle of getting out. I moved to Florida for a new life and because I needed to get my kids out of that. We’re here to start fresh and new, and this music is going to set us on a new path.”

As far as debut singles go, A.C.’s offering to the world is head-and-shoulders above amateur. When listeners get a taste of “The Journey,” they’ll immediately feel like it’s a song made by a seasoned professional. But that should come as no surprise from an artist whose family hung with Rap stars back in the day such as Jay Z  and who’s like family member Emory JonesHe’s seen first-hand what it takes to make high-quality music that caters to the masses, and he’s putting those lessons to work on this new single. That’s why it’s sure to be a hit.

“Music has a way of touching people, and Jay-Z’s and Big L’s music touched me,” A.C. said. “It’s amazing how he put rhythm and rhyme together to keep people focused. That’s what I want to do. I want to start touching people and help people with their stories. I think that happens through music. And when it comes to sharing my story through music, I do that through an old soul sound. I’m more of a pure Hip Hop, old-school emcee kind of artist. I like to think I’m revolutionary. I’m a problem solver for people. I rap about every problem that I had so hopefully, somebody else who has that same problem and doesn’t know the solution can learn from what I do. I’m a knowledgeable rapper and I’m inspirational. When you hear my music, you know you’re gonna learn something and you’re gonna have fun.’

Following his debut with “My Journey,” A.C. plans to drop another single this summer called “Mind Over Maniac.” He’s also hard at work building his new label, Dream of This Entertainment, which he said will eventually begin signing new artists. A video for “My Journey” is also scheduled to drop in late April or early May.

Daz Payne – Rich Boy Trap

Blog, Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Promo, Videos

Daz Payne blends underground rap vibes with R&B approach on upbeat new hit ‘Rich Boy Trap’

LOS ANGELES, CA – Daz Payne is a veteran artist who is introducing a new spin of sound and style that music lovers around the world have been familiar with for years. His mix of Trap, traditional rap and a more underground hip-hop vibe contrasts in intriguing ways against a smooth R&B approach, and the end result is a truly original take on music. If you’re a fan of artists such as The Weeknd, Bruno Mars, or Anderson Paak, you’ll love what Daz Payne is bringing to the table.

His latest single “Rich Boy Trap” is a perfect example of this signature style. Described as a vibe that feels a bit like the popular Netflix series “Black Mirror” mentality, the song explores what it takes to stay centered when there are a lot of distractions going on in life.

“It’s a response to my life now,” Payne said. “I have a new daughter who is 11 months old and doesn’t always sleep through the night. I wrote this song late at night when I was frustrated and had sleep deprivation. I channeled that energy into this song. It’s pretty upbeat with a good dance tempo, and the lyrics blend pretty well. It’s the kind of song that makes you want to go to the club and just put your head in a drink and have some fun.”

The title of the song comes from an idea that Payne has been exploring for the past couple of years. Compared to where he used to be in his life, he’s now doing well financially with a strong family life and stability. He’s an artist who has transitioned out of the streets and now has a more legitimate situation. He’s making money as an entrepreneur which is where the Rich Boy name comes in. But with more money comes more problems … it’s a trap, so to speak. The name of the song, therefore, serves as a warning to himself and others not to let ego run away out of control.

Originally from Fort Worth, Texas, Payne initially set his sights on playing in the NFL. He played cornerback for Army at West Point until a devastating knee injury and the sudden death of his father saw him transfer to the University of Houston and ultimately ended his football career. The experience unlocked his new life mission: to become the world’s biggest superstar.

“I always felt I had a special talent for making music,” he said. “God gave me a gift that I wasn’t using at all. My father’s passing was like a wake-up call. I couldn’t waste another moment.”

Disco Sundays – Cloud9

Disco Sundays has fans dreaming of better days with new single ‘Cloud9’

BALTIMORE, MD – Soul, Funk, R&B, Jazz and Disco come together in profound new ways on the debut album “Sending Love” from the new group Disco Sundays. With a sound that’s often described as nostalgic yet progressive, Disco Sundays pays homage to the catchy sounds of the past by combining elements of previous eras with sounds and styles of today. The undeniable swing of the drums and a signature soulful touch in the melodies pairs perfectly with a healthy dose of funky bass lines, making Disco Sundays one of the hottest new acts in the music industry today.

The standout single “Cloud9” from the new project is perhaps the best example of Disco Sunday’s original sound. With a mesmerizing and hypnotic melodic flow that plays against bouncy 808s, the song hooks listeners from the beginning and invites them into an unending flow that takes them on a ride and refuses to let them off the tracks until it reaches the end of the line. It almost has a Bone Thugs N Harmony kind of feel to it, though with more of a throw-back vibe that evokes ethereal emotions along the way. As one of the only songs on the album with vocals – from featured artist Irie Buchanan – it certainly stands out from the others and serves as a great introduction to the one-of-a-kind sound and style coming from Disco Sundays.

“It’s a favorite among most who hear it,” said Melvin Thomas – the music producer, musician, audio engineer, DJ, sound designer, and digital artist behind the creation of Disco Sundays. “Basically it’s about when the world tries to knock you out of your zone and you have the willpower to fight and stand up for what you believe in. It’s a song that shows off what we’re trying to do. Disco Sundays has a production style that has a lot of kicks and crazy basslines. The name describes a lot.”

The name is so powerful, in fact, that Thomas said Disco Sundays plays to reinforce that vibe by releasing a new single on Soundcloud every Sunday for the rest of the year. They’ll start with “Pick Me Up” on March 29, followed by “Nightcrawl” on April 4. Thomas said it’s a strategy that Disco Sundays wants to employ so as to keep listeners engaged consistently every week and continue to build momentum over time as they share their music with the world. Eventually the group will sell vintage-like merchandise and offer their music on vinyl instead of CDs. It’s an approach similar to artists such as The Gorillaz, Flying Lotus or Thundercat, just to name a few.

Sir Don Wayne – Green Fever

Blog, Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Promo, Videos

Living Legend Sir Don Wayne offers positive outlook on ways to unify different cultures with new single ‘Green Fever’

DALLAS, TX – Imagine, if you will, the image of two hands lighting a blunt. One hand is olive-skinned and obviously of Hispanic origins. The other is black. It’s a symbol of peace and unity – something desperately needed in today’s world of turmoil and hatred. That’s the image that resides on the cover of Sir Don Wayne’s latest single, “Green Fever,” and it’s the symbol he’s using to inspire a generation to embrace peace and push against hatred.

Currently available across all streaming platforms, “Green Fever” is the latest hit from this Dallas-based multitalented artist. It’s an upbeat, introspective look at today’s American culture and the various divides that continue to cause unrest among so many different people groups.

“There’s so much hatred in the world, I thought I could create a song to unite us,” Sir Don Wayne said. “All the different colors of the world can come together – Black, White, Indian, Mexican … It’s time to start shedding a little positive light on the world and giving some insight to people who have darkness to them. If we work together, we can get through whatever it is they’re going through.”

As is the case with most of his music, “Green Fever” features Sir Don Wayne’s signature Southern slang and Deep South style. It’s a sound that he said symbolizes Texas, albeit in his own definition of what Texas Hip Hop should sound like. As a student of music – having studied artists and influences from all over the world and from every genre imaginable – Sir Don Wayne has become a connoisseur of sound. He’s perfected the art of blending different genres and styles into something that’s original and unique. And through it all, he presents lyrics that have substance and evoke deeper thought while inspiring action.

“All the real artists talk about something in their music,” he said. “That’s what I have always looked up to. They ain’t just spitting bullshit in their music – they’re telling stories and have something to say. I want my music to be known for just being one of those guys – being up there with those legends. I want to be a living legend and do what I gotta do. I want my music to keep hope alive and try to correct positive energy and not negative. My music has a positive outlook on life and when you hear it, you’re just going to have good vibes.”

Sir Don Wayne said his artistry could be summarized as “making music for the people.” As he grows on this journey of music vibes, he’s eager for an ever-widening global fanbase to join him on the ride. Following “Green Fever”, he has plans to release another single called “Blue Champagne” before the end of May, with another couple singles planned for later this year.

Flvco – Pink Ranger

Fall in Love with the Beautiful Madness of Flvco’s Strawberry Blonde

“There is no great genius without a touch of madness.” Roman philosopher Seneca attributed that idea to Aristotle. For Flvco, genius and madness dwell together in harmony. “Dare to be insane,” laughed Flvco.

Flvco became acquainted with the relationship between genius and madness in his youth. As a punishment, his mother would make him copy lines of poetry. Flvco recalled how his mother’s love of poetry led him to the macabre work of Edgar Allan Poe. “I like to think Poe does a lot because he is just so unapologetically emotional,” Flvco explained. “I felt like he didn’t care about looking vulnerable. Even if it takes me too long to write a song, I want to do the same.”

Flvco doesn’t care about looking vulnerable. He credited madness as fuel for his creativity. “The only time I ever felt real was when I was listening to something I recorded,” Flvco explained. “Even writing it doesn’t feel that way. When you dissociate, you don’t feel inside your own body. When you write about your feelings, it brings you to a certain place. When it’s a finished product, it really makes me more unstable. But it makes me more comfortable with being unstable.”

Flvco’s latest album Strawberry Blonde finds a protagonist driven to insanity through love. Album opener “Alewife” finds the protagonist smitten with an attractive bartender. “He meets this girl and she works in the service industry,” said Flvco. “They try to hit it off. She’s busy doing her thing, he’s busy doing his.” For the listener, Strawberry Blonde offers gentle tracks that slowly unveil the melancholy nature of Flvco’s narrative. “When I was writing, I wanted to step out for once and just be me,” said Flvco. “It just kinda was a revelation that happened while I was writing. I didn’t even know where I was going with it until I was done. All the anxiety and feelings; it transformed me.”

Strawberry Blonde culminates with the doomed protagonist embracing violence. The final track, “‘Tis a Pity She Was a Whore,” builds to a cinematic crescendo. But fans should not expect the narrative to end here. Flvco plans to continue the Strawberry Blonde story arc with a future release. “I think I’m going to continue that storyline with a few more songs,” he said. “I like to create worlds in my body of art. My next project is called The Teal Tapes. I think I’m gonna save it for June. The tempo is much higher and things are a little bit more exciting.”

Flvco’s raw emotional vulnerability will stick with listeners. His writing expresses what you feel as though he was writing the story of your life. “I always like to refer to Kanye West’s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. Listening to that, I can look back at that time of my life and remember exactly what was going on and how it felt. I want to be that kind of artist. Take me on a road trip and I’ll share that summer with you.”

Mitch Gambino – Can’t Stand Me

Blog, Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Videos

Catchy swag pairs with aggressive lyrics on new single from Mitch Gambino

SPRINGFIELD, IL – Bouncy swag meets in-your-face lyrics on the latest hit single from Midwest artist Mitch Gambino. “Can’t Stand Me” is a catchy Hip Hop groove with a splash of R&B flare that will definitely make listeners bop their heads. But it’s the lyrics that really drive home the power of this fast-rising young artist. Gambino pulls no punches as he goes all-in with what he’s going through at this point – railing against the haters in his life and throwing out challenge after challenge to anyone who says he can’t make it big in today’s music industry.

“The world can’t stand me,” he said. “The hate is real. That’s what this song is about. It’s pretty aggressive, but it has a chill vibe, too. When I heard the beat, I just came out spitting all bars. I bring the streets with a different type of swag. I tell my own story and I just feel like I have a unique type of vibe. I can bring different types of vibes across all my music because I can do any type of beat. You throw me on a beat and I’m gonna go off on it.”

It’s not just his amazing flow that leaves listeners in awe, either. Gambino boasts some great vocals which he puts on full display on “Can’t Stand Me.” Cleverly incorporating some auto-tune effects, Gambino flows effortlessly between rapping and singing which is where the subtlest hint of R&B seeps into his sound. He said that style will continue to be showcased on more singles that he has planned for this year, including “Wit Gang,” “My Wave” and “Time Change,” all of which will be released wide in the next couple of months. Eventually, he said he’ll drop a full album but he’s currently focusing on perfecting these singles and shooting full-production videos for them.

“I want people to know I’m a real person with no funny or fake vibes,” he said. “Everything I create is true and genuine. I’m not in it just to make a buck. Everything I’m saying is coming from me. I’m rapping about what I’ve been through and my experiences and through that, I’m relating to other people who have been through similar things.”

Gambino said a bit part of his success to date comes from the great team with which he’s surrounded himself – especially Benny Blanco who is a fellow artist on the Money Ave Label. The two have done some songs together, and Blanco has even been featured on a song with notorious rapper Don Tripp.

noto – Rather Be

Blog, ME Blog, Music, Promo

Fast-Rising Pop songwriter noto drops another hit single with ‘Rather Be’

BROOKLYN, NY – Noah Thomas – better known by his stage name noto – is a Pop singer, songwriter and guitarist from the East Coast whose unique style is rooted in his deep love for the narrative lyrical tradition present in traditional Country music but coupled with the sonic qualities of R&B and contemporary Pop. Often drawing comparisons to the likes of John Mayer and Daniel Caesar, noto also cites a diverse array of influences including Jeff Buckley, Tyler Childers, and Phoebe Bridgers.

His latest single, “Rather Be,” is his third professional release and follows the extremely successful releases of “Girl from the City” and “Drugs in the Bathroom,” both of which have seen hundreds of thousands of streams since wide distribution on all streaming platforms over the past three months. In fact, the music video for “Drugs in the Bathroom” is about to hit 100K views on YouTube.
Much like “Girl from the City” – which is featured on nearly 400 Spotify user playlists and recently appeared in a viral TikTok video by @olympusgreatdanes with 12.4 million views – “Rather Be” is an upbeat dance song that’s ready-made for another TikTok viral sensation. Written after a night out at the club with some friends, the song explores class boundaries and the grotesqueries of the ultra-elite.
“I remember that night we started at a club that had a cover of $200 and we had to go somewhere else because it was so expensive,” noto said. “I couldn’t get that out of my head and so when I went home that night, I wrote the song. It started out with me trying to figure out what it would take to get my foot in the door and try to impress a girl from that upper echelon. Part of me is infatuated with that entire sphere and lifestyle, but the real me is incensed and grossed out by it.”

With a groove that has a Future Pop and R&B vibe, the song showcases noto’s adept ability to bring lyrical content that is more narrative-based than what most people are listening to. Originally written on acoustic guitar before it was fully produced by Ghidrah of Studio G in Greenpoint Brooklyn, the song definitely plays like a songwriter’s tune, albeit with an upbeat tone and aggressive energy that makes the listener want to move.

“Rather Be” is one of many singles that noto is in the midst of releasing to the world as he tries to carve out a niche in the crowded music marketplace. He considers these songs his calling card and a way of showing an ever-widening fanbase what he’s capable of writing and creating. Through it all, he hopes that his narrative voice will shine through and serve as the definitive, iconic thread for which he becomes known.

“I love platitudes and listening to people talk in public places,” he said. “I write a lot of stuff down that I overhear in passing – whether it’s at a restaurant or on the street. A lot of times, I’ll write songs around a single line that I’ve heard come out of somebody’s mouth. I also like to draw from personal experience. My first song and this song are deeply personal because they’re literally about my life. Some of the next few tracks are intimate and detail accounts and moments from my life. More than anything, I just want the lyrics to shine through while I try to put out a lot of different things sonically.”

“Rather Be” was released wide across all streaming platforms on March 19.
