Cory Davidson – I Like To Party

Blog, Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Promo, Videos

Feel-good vibes and upbeat grooves take center stage from energetic rapper Cory Davidson on new single ‘I Like to Party’

ELWOOD, IN – Anyone who knows Cory Davidson knows that he’s a little rowdy. Growing up in Elwood, Indiana, he ran with a crowd that included popular Country Rap artist Chris Hosier, and their group was well-known for being hard-headed, up-all-night partiers. He likes to party, and his new single invites others along for the ride with its upbeat vibes and catchy hooks. “I Like To Party” is not only a statement from an artist whose lifestyle is all about having a good time; it’s also a genuine feel-good vibe that’s perfect for the summer.

Though he’s been close friends with Country Rapper Chris Hosier for most of his life, Davidson’s own style is not country rap. In fact, it’s hard to give him any kind of label. He doesn’t sound like anybody in hip-hop or rap. His new EP showcases a wide variety of sounds – from energetic tracks like “I Like to Party,” to more chill and laid-back vibes with “Make a Toast” and “Trampoline.” He taps into catchy beats with nice melodies, and can often be heard both singing and rapping on many of his songs.

“I’ve listened to a lot of different music through the years, and it all influences me, but I don’t mimic anybody and I don’t sound like anybody else,” Davidson said. “Mostly I just want to make good-vibing music – something you can have a good time to while listening to it. And hopefully you can take something from it and relate to the song in some way. It’s just that simple. If you’re talking about negativity in what you’re rapping, that’s what people are going to associate you with. I want people to hear my music and just vibe and have a good time. Most of us want to put on a good song when we’re ready to go do something fun and have a good time. I think that would be really awesome for people to do that with my music.”

Davidson said the full project will come out toward the end of July, though he’s planning to release a remix of “I Like to Party” prior to that date. The full album, which he’s calling “Just the Beginning,” will feature 10 tracks in total and continue to showcase his unique sound and style.

Davidson first got his start in music as a kid, growing up in a household that embraced music in all its forms. His father was a radio DJ, and other members of his family were involved with music in one way or another. By the time he was ready to graduate high school, he was studying the art of music-making and learning how to engineer and produce at the highest level. He enlisted in the military after graduation, and during his time serving oversees he connected with many other artists and producers who were also serving in the military. He was wounded in 2008 while stationed in Iraq, and after being honorably discharged he returned home and re-entered the music scene, though now he was equipped with all the things he had learned from so many other talented artists from the past four years. He began writing and doing shows, and he began making music videos. Those videos were so well-done that he became the go-to guy for video making all around the U.S., and it’s something he continues to do to this day. The connections he’s made with many other artists along the way has put him in front of some high-level industry executives, and he knows that it’s only a matter of time before his music gets in front of the right people and leads to him becoming an internationally recognized artist.

17Back – 937

Blog, Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Promo, Videos

Party song of the summer makes its way across U.S. from East Coast rapper 17Back

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD – A futuristic flare of hip-hop with a vibe that feels pulled straight out of a “Fast and Furious” movie takes center stage on the new single from East Coast artist 17Back. The single is “937” – a nod to the area code of Dayton, Ohio, which is where 17Back is from. It’s a trippy kind of ambient dance track that’s the perfect party vibe for the summer. The otherworldly opening feels as if it’s been pulled directly from a sci-fi film score, and then it suddenly makes way for a staccato beat with a bit of an Island vibe. It’s a song with an immense amount of international flare, and it serves as the perfect introduction to this young artist and his amazing rapid-fire flow.

“When I heard the beat, the only thing I wanted to do was make a fun song,” 17Back said. “I wanted to create something that lasts with people in a way that makes them want to play it again and again. When I started thinking about the most fun time I’ve had in my life, I couldn’t help but think back to my time in Dayton. Everybody I know is out there, and though there were a lot of bad times, there are also a lot of good times that I remember. I wanted to put all those good times into one song. It’s me saying you’re a boss. You can go through a lot of hard things – you can be at the literal bottom – but you can pull through and eventually look at the things you’ve accomplished. It’s been a journey, and now it’s time to have some fun.”

In some ways 17Back said the song nods to the overwhelming gratefulness he feels to have his own personal second chance. Sentenced to a 20-year stint in prison due to an aggravated burglary charge, he was given a break after only three-and-a-half years thanks to the 8505 program – a formal request of the court to reconsider its sentence under the auspices that the crime was committed by someone with a severe alcohol or drug addiction. Though 17Back was at first hesitant to apply for the program, he eventually listened to an older inmate who encouraged him to give it a shot. The end result was an early exit from prison, and 17 years of his life back.

“I actually got my freedom, and now I’m just grinding in the studio every week, dropping songs and perfecting my craft,” he said. “This name is a reminder to me. Every time I hear 17Back, it reminds me I could still be in prison, but I’m not. Most of my music has always been talking about the pain – almost like a therapy session for me, or a way to get things off my mind. The things I can’t tell people in person comes out through my music. I kind of just want to be a storyteller. When people listen to my music, I hope they relate to it in one way or another. No matter what I’m talking about, I want everyone to vividly see that story and relate to it and learn from it.”

17Back said he plans to continue telling stories on an album called “Perseverance,” which is set to drop before the end of the summer. In the meantime, “937” is currently available across all streaming platforms.

UpAllNyt – Up All Night

Blog, Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Videos

Party song of the summer heats up the airwaves from West Coast rapper UpAllNyt

LOS ANGELES, CA – If there’s one thing you should know about Derrick Sean, it’s that he loves to party. Everyone who knows him knows he’s a guy to hang around if you want to have a good time. He’ll literally burn the midnight oil and party ‘til the sun comes up … it’s how he got his stage name, in fact. And today, as he operates as UpAllNyt, he not only enjoys having a good time, he also creates hot jams to give other people a good time.

His latest EP “Mandated” is a perfect example of how he makes sick beats that get people hyped and moving. Across eight songs, the project tells real stories while also offering upbeat vibes that are perfect for the summer. The debut single from the project, “Up All Night,” is a tour du force of sound and style that is sure to be the hit track of the summer.

“The name says it all,” UpAllNyt said. “It’s about being up all night partying with your woman or mistress. It’s a sex song, but it’s also about having a good time and it will definitely be a club song. There’s a little bit of R&B and hip-hop mixed together, and it’s just a really good vibe. I’ve had some great party nights, and this song came to me in jail when I was thinking back on some of those nights. If I hear it in my head, I’m gonna write it and record it and how it comes out, that’s how it comes out. I’m an artist, not just a rapper, and this song shows that to the world.”

UpAllNyt said he first got into music when he was younger after watching an older brother trying to make it as a rapper. He’s originally from Los Angeles, and grew up in a single-parent home alongside five other siblings. Though he dropped out of high school in order to help pay his family’s bills, he did eventually finish high school and has been pursuing his dream of being a professional recording artist ever since. He’s honed his sound and style to be something completely unpredictable – citing inspirations from Maroon 5, Arctic Monkey and Adele to Lil Durk and Bone Thugs N Harmony.

“I make music you can relate to,” he said. “I make real music. I’m not just going in the studio and saying anything, or just joking on the mic. I might tell a few jokes in a couple of songs, but I really want to create something that everyone can relate to and people can feel. I want it to be everlasting and timeless.”

While “Mandated” continues to build momentum and bring in an ever-widening group of global fans, UpAllNyt said he’s working on completing a deluxe edition of the EP which will bring the total number of songs on the project up to 20. He said that should drop later this summer.

E-Dash – D.O.A.

Blog, Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Promo, Videos

E-Dash puts competition on notice with powerful new single ‘D.O.A.’

ATLANTA, GA – When E-Dash arrives on the scene, the competition better watch out. There’s nothing anyone will be able to do to survive against this Southern rapper whose signature style has been called genius by many in the industry. It’s safe to say that anyone who even tries to stand up to him in the rap game will be Dead On Arrival. And this powerful force in hip-hop serves up that notice with his latest hit single “D.O.A.”

“It showcases a level of talent and skill that you don’t hear anymore in music,” E-Dash said. “I want to make sure that’s being brought back to the forefront of hip-hop. Basically this is a song for me to show that when I arrive, there’s nothing or no one else who will be able to survive.”

The single is the first off an EP called “Forever,” which further displays his talent and shows the world that he’s no fly-by-night, one-hit wonder. His music is timeless and of such a high quality that his songs could be played forever. His style is unique and original, like nothing else in the game today. After years as an artist, he’s mastered his sound and created a style that is untouchable.

Born in Queens, New York, but raised in Atlanta, music has been a mainstay in his life since age 9. Over the years he’s worked as a producer, artist, and CEO of his own indie label B-R.E.A.L. Ent. He’s made five albums (“Presidency,” “The Me LP,” “Real War,” “Silence of Lamb,” and “The Beginning”) and has had guest appearances on many unsigned artists’ material, such as Lee Danger, Capo Da Great, Jigg, Cradle Records, 2Chainz, and more. He was also in a group called Nimrod for four years. Along the way he said he’s learned a lot about the business side of music and the ins-and-outs of the recording process.

“It didn’t come easy, but I never gave up,” he said. “I would write songs daily and perform anywhere I could. I developed my own school of music. My life surrounds my music and my music surrounds my life. I’m extremely dedicated to the success of my dreams and goals as an artist and a man. Life inspires me – whatever I’m going through at the time I could create a song about. It all depends on the mood I’m in when I write. The process of recording and hearing my voice is a wonderful feeling. And then watching something you create be enjoyed by others is the best feeling in the world. I’m changing the world through music, and I have no intention of stopping.”

GMB Flash – Put Up or Shut Up

Blog, ME Blog, Music, Promo, Videos

GMB Flash gets in your face with aggressive new track ‘Put Up or Shut Up’

NEW ORLEANS, LA – GMB Flash has witnessed a lot of messed up stuff in his life growing up in the Ninth Ward of New Orleans. The pain and suffering he’s endured is the core of the music he offers to the world – an inside look at the hard life through the lens of very good music.

His most recent offering to the world is the hot new single “Put Up or Shut Up.” It’s a message to anyone out there who claims to be a baller or to have money to affect change, that if they don’t step up and put their money where their mouth is then they better shut up.

“Prove to us that you have it,” GMB Flash said. “If not, be quiet. A lot of people talk the talk but don’t walk the walk. This is me letting you know you better put up or shut up. A friend of mine sent me the beat and he asked me to kill it. That’s my job, so that’s what I did – I killed it. We got it to put it up – there’s no shuttin’ up on my end. Ain’t no quiet mouths over here. The goal is to show the world we been doing this for a minute.”

GMB Flash is no stranger to aggressive and in-your-face lyrics. He’s made a career on it, in fact. For years he’s been performing at the top of the game, and his style is one that people recognize immediately for its authoritative and declarative nature. It’s the reason he was given the nickname Flash in the first place – because of his temper and the way he moves around in the streets. He’s never been one to wait on someone else to make a move, and when it comes to his career as a musician he’s been leading the way for a long time.

“Ain’t nobody else out there like me,” he said. “I’m not a mumble rapper or doing something just for clout. There’s an actual message in my lyrics that will definitely resonate with the streets. Anyone who is even close to this type of life will feel my music. Folks who went through the type of stuff that I went through – stuck in a poverty-stricken environment where you constantly had to battle – will connect with what I’m bringing. It’s music for anybody who’s trying to elevate out of that. I don’t ever want to open up a pack of Top Ramen again in my house.”

GMB Flash said “Put Up or Shut Up” is a single off a new EP called “Flashed Out,” which is currently available across all streaming platforms. It’s a project that shows off his style and brings the Get Money Boys name into the world. He plans to follow that with the mixtape “Reincarnated” later this year.

Intellect – Headlines

Blog, Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Promo, Videos

Former military intelligence officer offers fresh perspective on world issues with new single ‘Headlines’

WASHINGTON, D.C. – As a former elite member of the U.S. military intelligence community, Michael “Intellect” Dowd is in a unique position to provide perspective on the multiple ills and injustices of the world. He has access to many platforms and could demand an audience with some of the country’s highest-level officials, but he’s chosen to pass on his message to the world through his favorite artform: music. His latest single, “Headlines,” is the perfect marriage of his experience and his natural talent. It’s a song that gives listeners a taste of the raw reality of where the U.S. is today as a country, both politically and socially.

“As a black man in American who has traveled the world extensively working for the government, I’ve had the privilege of seeing other nations and cultures and their interactions with poverty and affluence,” Intellect said. “I’ve also seen race and other ethnic differences at play in other places of the world – the mistreatment of people in general. The premise of the song talks about some very raw and real things that have happened recently.”

With “Headlines,” Intellect depicts a raw, emotional, and real reality of the mainstream Black and Brown minorities in America by law enforcement officials. At the same time, he pleads for peace and justice for everyone. It’s a song that speaks directly to the Black Lives Matter movement and the atrocities that have happened to George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, Trayvon Martin, and so many others who have been killed unnecessarily.

“Today there are a lot of outlets for advocates, but what I feel like has been lost is clarity,” Intellect said. “Because of today’s technology and how we receive information, there’s just an abundance of noise. It used to be that there were these central voices that were easy to seek out for guidance when it came to seeking justice for the mistreatment of people. But because there’s so much data out there, people have gotten lost in the noise. Music has always been a way to connect a mass of people to a common idea, and if this record can reach a mass of people and bring them together to help us start speaking in unison, then so be it. Mostly I hope it can galvanize people and create a common dialogue.”

Intellect said he hopes “Headlines” will encourage people to sit down and have intelligent conversations. As a former member of the intelligence community, he has a lot of experience with bringing disparate parties to the table for peace talks. Through his service with government agencies and the military, Intellect has developed high-level expertise in a broad range of disciplines that include man hunting, geo-location, cellular infrastructure, human intelligence, counterterrorism, and counter-narcotics. These are just a few of the raw materials that coalesce in his art to create his expression. Over the years he has served as technical advisor and actor for NBC’s series “The Enemy Within” and was the technical consultant for ABC’s hit show “Quantico.” But it’s music that is his true passion, and with “Headlines” he continues a journey that has included multiple successful EPs and albums to date.

“Ultimately I want to be known for making a difference in the world,” he said. “Previously I did that in the military, but now I’m doing that through music and entertainment. The point is not to divide people – we have enough of that today. The point is to give a non-biased view of what’s happening in the world and encourage people to make positive changes together.”

Lord Orochi Kupa – Ex Stacy

Blog, Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Videos

Lord Orochi Kup offers fans feelings of ecstasy with hot new single

HOUMA, LA – Lord Orochi Kupa has more pain in his life than most people deal with in two lifetimes. He grew up in a town notorious for racism. He’s been shot at, stalked, profiled, denied, and abused so many times he can no longer count. The pain is overwhelming, and at times makes him feel like he’s going insane. The only way he can keep that insanity at bay is through music.

The counterpoint to that pain is ecstasy, which is the central theme of his new single “Ex Stacy.” Currently available across all streaming platforms, it’s a song that showcases this young up-and-coming artist’s unique sound and style in impressive ways. It literally gives the listener feelings of ecstasy, which is appropriate considering it was written to be played at parties or at the club.

“I was inspired to write them song after rolling and partying and having a good time,” he said. “I remember watching the girls in the strobe lights and the tripping on the Dreamy Dragon, and that’s when the song came to fruition. I relate to others through pain music. I help them see the beauty in the pain and the beautify in the chaos and help them through that pain. This is a song that will give them the ecstasy they’re looking for.”

If you ask him when music became such an integral part of his life, he’ll point to that moment at age 8 when his father left. Then he’ll tell you that the streets taught him music. People freestyling on street corners and rapping about their situations in life became the first pieces of lyricism that would one day fill his songs. At age 8 he took the initiative to find an old laptop and a cheap mic and start putting his ideas into song. He loved it, and hasn’t looked back since.

“I have a very long and sad journey, but this music is my light,” he said. “the devil has come at me so many ways, and my only peace is music. I gotta run to my music to feel sane, or I’ll feel insane and my monster will just come out. I’m trying to hold that back and stay sane with this music.”

Lord Orochi said he knows others all over the world can relate to those feelings, especially in these times of such despair and injustice. He relates to people through his music because he knows where they come from, and in comparison to other indie artists out there he said he feels like he’s hungrier than most.

“I know how it feels to live in a trailer – to live on the streets and not eat,” he said. “I can relate to the real people. I can relate to those who are misunderstood and lost, and the mentally damaged. At the end of the day I’m not trying to impress anybody. I know people love me and they can relate to me. I just want to be a good person and do God’s work to change the world. I want to change lives and make people happy. When they’re going through the loss and pain and mourning, they can go to my music and feel at peace and at ease.”

Frank Doto – Don’t Make It Hot

Blog, Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Promo, Videos

CEO of Everything Official Entertainment drops hot new mixtape ‘Mr. Triple Double’

THOMASVILLE, NC – New York and the Deep South come together on a hot new mixtape from North Carolina artist Frank Doto. “Mr. Triple Double” is an impressive display of originality and raw talent, with songs that take advantage of some of the best up-and-coming artists in the industry today.

“Don’t Make It Hot” is the debut single from the project. It’s a jumpy, club vibe made for the streets. Filled with a lot of aggressive energy, it’s actually a song that encourages the hustlers in the game to be more subtle with what they do so as not to attract too much attention to themselves.

“You gotta keep some shit low-key,” Doto said. “Keep your moves low-key and be more subtle. You can draw attention to yourself, but don’t do it so much. You don’t need to say nothing, just let your actions speak for themselves. If people know, they know. If you understand what’s going on, you don’t need to question it.”

Doto is an artist who has been doing music since he was young, and who has been perfecting his craft for many years. He moved around a lot as a kid, and it wasn’t until recently that he felt like he belonged to any one place after having settled in Thomasville, North Carolina. Over the past few years he’s put down roots and developed relationships with artists in the area. He has also started giving back to the world by working with younger artists and teaching them some of what he’s learned about the music industry along the way. The best way he does that is through his label Everything Official Entertainment.

“I just influence people,” he said. “I want to leave my mark like that. I just want to help people and not really focus on myself so much. I’m focused on you – both as a listener and other artists. ‘Dot in the spot, don’t make it hot.’ That’s my saying. Everybody already knows me for that, and I’m making it like an anthem. And anybody who hears it knows there’s gonna be high quality music that’s gonna tell the truth and give them a good time.”

In addition to “Mr. Triple Double,” Doto is working on another mixtape called “Ashy 2 Classy,” which is set to release later this summer. Doto works closely with artists like Money Hunt Keeda and K. The Mogul to create a variety of songs that showcase his unique sound and style on the project.

Coach KG – Mission

Blog, Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Promo, Videos

Coach KG offers inspirational message to the masses with new single ‘Mission’

SEATTLE, WA – For most of his life Kevin Lee Green has been someone others could count on for guidance and help. He’s been a coach to many people – both literally and figuratively. And so it makes sense that the music from Coach KG would be uplifting and motivational in ways that inspire others to chase their dreams and make the most of their lives. His latest single “Mission” is a perfect example of that.

The first track off a forthcoming mixtape called “Time Will Tell,” it’s a song that offers the world an inside look at his life in hopes that others would see his trials and triumphs and use his story as a way to make positive decisions for themselves. It’s a story that starts on the streets of Memphis, where he grew up as a standout athlete while also struggling with hustling in the neighborhood. Watching the OGs in his neighborhood inspired him to be more successful, but a series of bad choices got him in trouble. Eventually he moved all the way across the country to Seattle, Washington, and started a new life.

“This song is about me trying to find my way through Seattle after coming from Memphis,” Coach KG said. “I know I’ve got a purpose. Music has always been one of my loves, and I’m believing in that right now. I’m on a mission. I gotta get it. I remember messed up days – my father, Kevin Lee Green Sr., was in an unsolved homicide in late 2020 – but I’m not dwelling on those messed up days. I’m looking for better days.”

“Mission” features a nice, smooth, steady tone with a bit of a Memphis feel to it. It’s a song that shows off his unique sound and style – a style that was inspired by some of his favorite artists in the game, such as Yo Gotti, 8Ball, MJG, and Rod Wave, who KG said is the reason he decided to pursue music professionally in the first place.

“When I first started I didn’t know how to record, and I looked at some of his stuff,” KG said. “I record better with just me and the engineer, just like him. I create Trap music and Drill music, but also music for women and people who are just having a bad day and can’t find no luck. I want to touch on all things in the industry, and I want people to understand that Coach KG is versatile.”

In addition to music, Coach KG has also started his own shoe company and youth training program called KG Urban Athletics. He’s making a splash on the music scene in big ways, and will follow up “Mission” with two more singles on June 12 and June 26. Already in his young career he’s an artist who has opened for Lil Boosie and Lil Webbie, and he’s also rubbed shoulders with his hero 50 Cent and MMG’s Gunplay. His energy as a rising artist is electrifying and unmatched, and couples with a warm and welcoming approach that connects with a wide audience. He passionately strives to be the new leader for the next generation, and his music serves as an influential vehicle for that leadership.

With “Complaints,” DayToday Craze offers fans a real Pop-type vibe with a dancehall feel with tons of energy. It’s ready-made for the clubs or for summer parties, or even just for hanging out with friends on the back porch or around the pool. But that doesn’t mean it’s a song with shallow lyrics. In point of fact, the song has deep meanings that will give listeners something much more poignant to grab onto.

“The idea was to create a song that brought feel-good energy but still allowed you to feel that rhythm that makes you want to move,” he said. “It’s vibrations that come with a message. I was thinking big when I made the song – like worldwide. It has that international feel because I’m not trying to be miniscule with anything I’m doing. And this has a message that I think anyone in the world can connect with.”

Ultimately, the song is about a woman who has everything she could ever ask for, but she still complains about the things that make her unhappy. DayToday Craze said he hopes people will listen to it and learn to appreciate the blessings they have in their lives and stop looking for the greener grass on the other side of the hill.

In addition to “Complaints,” DayToday Craze has also dropped an EP called “Free Energy,” which is currently available across all streaming platforms. It’s a conglomerate of songs that present different energy in a variety of ways. The songs on the project invite listeners to dance, or vibe out, or just chill, in various ways. DayToday Craze said they embrace the vibrations that people are surrounded by and the spiritual things we come across in our day-to-day lives.

“I wanted to embed that feeling into all the songs on the EP,” he said. “Every day is something new – a new high or a powerful new moment. I don’t live in tomorrow or yesterday, I live in now. And what we can do now to make a change for tomorrow and better days for the future is what my music is all about. It’s bigger than merely being a hype guy or someone who makes good vibrations. I want my music to remind people that they still have now. Yesterday is over with, and you don’t have to worry about tomorrow, because right now is important.”

DayToday Craze said he plans to follow up his EP with a full album called “Closed Circuit” later this year. Until then, he plans to drop some videos for the singles on the EP.
