Deezy On Da Beat Feat. Daphne Dash – Trail Ride

Blog, Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Promo, Videos

Hot new Zydeco/Hip-hop groove ‘Trail Ride’ offers music lovers a feel-good vibe

ATLANTA, GA – Zydeco and hip-hop gets some new flavor on the hit new single “Trail Ride,” featuring Louisiana artists Deezy On Da Beat and Daphne Dash. Showcasing a bouncy beat with a distinct old-school country melody in the background, the song almost makes you feel like you’re on the back of a horse doing a fast trot, bouncing along to the rhythm. Its catchy hooks and fun flows make for a truly original take on Zydeco music, and serves as the perfect platform upon which to showcase these two artists’ unique sound and style.

“Trail Ride in Louisiana is a gathering,” Deezy on da Beat said. “We have horses and we blaze trails and there are four wheelers and good food and good family and dancing and Zydeco music and Soul and Funk … it’s that whole culture all together. It’s just a big gathering that’s fun and full of live performances. We all grew up in that culture, and we love Zydeco music. Not many people mess with that genre much and experiment with Zydeco much, and we brought our flavor into it.

The song was inspired by the late DJ Star, from Monroe, Louisiana, who told Deezy he should merge hip-hop and Zydeco and set him on the path to making this hit single. Sadly, DJ Star passed away before the finished song came out.

Deezy on da Beat is an American songwriter, producer, engineer and CEO of Cutcha Radio up Productions. Based in Atlanta, Georgia, but originally from Jonesboro, Louisiana, Deezy began writing and producing as young as 10 years old. Over the years he’s had the opportunity to work with major artists such as Lil Snupe, Meek Mill, Lil Baby, Yo Gotti, Master P and more. His music is influenced by Southern hip-hop, R&B, Funk and Soul music.

Some years ago he and Daphne Dash connected in Atlanta and bonded over their shared Louisiana heritage. They’ve been working together ever since and are excited to share this latest single with the world. It’s a song that he said not only gives Zydeco music a new seasoning of sound, but just lets people sit back and have fun.

“We’re bringing pure authenticity through our music,” Deezy said. “We make everything from scratch. All of our records we produce, engineer and write. Every track we make is a real vibe. And at the end of the day we hope our music is known for making people feel good and want to dance and just spreading good, positive vibes.”

In addition to the original version of “Trail Ride,” the group also released a club version of the song that features another artist named Level. That version has made its radio debut in in Monroe, Louisiana on 100.1 The Beat since its release. Deezy said he and Daphne plan to follow up with more albums this year, but you can listen to Deezy on da Beat’s six-song EP “The Gift” and Daphne’s EP “Purple Love” on all streaming platforms.

Kenjii Yokota – RR

Blog, Industry Spotlight, Music, Promo, Videos

Memphis rapper puts unique spin on Deep South
Hip-Hop with new album ‘In Due Time’

MEMPHIS, TN – Kenjii Yokota has a wide range of diverse sounds and variations that most have never heard come out of the Southern U.S. Hailing from Memphis, Tennessee – a town known for its rich Blues history – this hip-hop artists displays a talent that speaks for itself. His flow, delivery and distinct wordplay display an expertise normally only seen in seasoned artists. But this 24-year-old fast-rising star shows a maturity beyond his years and a quality of music that most in the game would die to possess.

His latest album puts that talent on full display. “In Due Time,” which is currently available across all streaming platforms, is an honest representation of where this young artist is in his life at the moment. It shares with the world his ups and downs and gives fans an inside look into where his music comes from and the inspirations behind his hit songs.

“Sometimes I don’t know where to go with my life and all I know is I got music,” Kenjii said. “Like a lot of other people out there, I’m just a young kid who is kind of lost and trying to find his way, and he’s only got music. That’s what this album is.”

The hip-hop and R&B fusion of sound on the album is blended with his Southern style for a truly original offering. With tracks like “RR,” which is the standout single on the album, Kenjii showcases an ability to both entertain and challenge listeners. The rapid-fire flow and catchy hook of “RR” makes it the perfect introduction to his new album. Listeners can’t help but smile as they dream with Kenjii about the rewards of success and driving around in Rolls Royces.

Kenjii Yokota – who said he chose his stage name as a nod to the Anime stories of his youth – said music fell into his lap in 2016. A lot of things happened in his life that year. It was his first year out of high school and the sense of having no direction in his life made for a lot of confusion and turmoil. Music was something that he said seemed like God throwing him a lot to hold onto in the middle of tumultuous stream. He’s been running with it ever since, and his first mixtape “Kenjii Yokota Vol. 1,” released in 2018, was a resounding success. Since then he has released two other projects and is now set to give the world his most ambitious album yet with “In Due Time.”

“I think what makes me stand out is my honesty in my songs,” he said. “I’m an underdog waiting for my shot. I really don’t have any help. It’s just me trying to make it happen. But my work ethic is strong and I’m diverse as an artist. I do more than just rap. I’m singing a lot on this album and showing off my skillset. At the end of the day, I want my music to be known for being motivational. I think my songs can be inspirational and that I can show people that you can overcome anything.”

Flyght Club – Olivia

Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Promo, Videos

International artist Shauvik Sharan explores diverse range of sounds and styles with new single ‘Olivia’

LOS ANGELES, CA – A contemporary music project that has its origins in India and has fully bloomed through the influences of American Pop Culture is making its way to the masses from up-and-coming young artist Shauvik Sharan, AKA Flyght Club. His music prioritizes extreme versatility while showcasing a dynamic range over all the popular genres of today’s industry. Every song is made to cater to a different type of mood and emotion.

His latest single is a song called “Olivia,” which will be available across all digital streaming platforms on March 30. The chill Indie-Pop vibe lays the foundation for a mellow yet uplifting song that displays the intense immediate infatuation one feels when meeting a stranger and instantly establishing a connection. The electronic elements beautifully convey the heat of the moment, while the melody justifies the impracticality of the situation and pairs perfectly with a beat that represents the strong, flowing anxiousness that accompanies such a moment.

“The feeling of meeting a stranger and immediately seeing your possible significant other in them is so common yet so rare,” Sharan said. “I met a girl last year and fell head-over-heels for her in a very short period of time. There was just an instant sense of familiarity I felt with her, but it was too soon to tell anyone about it so I decided to make a song about it. Every song I write is different. I might want to talk about love at some point, and another song might be a social message. And every song I make caters to a different genre and audience. I’m extremely diverse and versatile with each song. One might be upbeat and Pop, the next one might be rap, the next one rock … you can never classify me into any one particular genre. It just depends on my mood when I’m creating. It’s that diversity of lyrics and style and singing that makes my sound so unique.”

Sharan grew up in Pune, India, and decided to move to Los Angeles about five years ago to pursue a career in music. His early influences in music were classic rock artists such as Led Zeppelin, Eric Clapton and Pink Floyd, and it was because of them that he first picked up the guitar. He played for many years as a guitarist in bands in India, and eventually decided ot get into electronic music and start DJ-ing as the scene started growing in his city. After a couple years playing in rock bands and winning DJ competitions, Sharan decided to move to LA to test his skills in the hub of the music industry. It was there that he mastered the art of production and engineering, as well as singing and songwriting. This is what gave birth to “Flyght Club” – a name that is based on the concept of anyone who is trying to rise above the challenges of life and achieve their goals. Anyone who supports that vision of success is a member of the Flyght Club, he said.

King Bolo – At The Gym

Music, Promo, Videos

King Bolo makes motivational track for the ladies with new single ‘At The Gym’

STOCKTON, CA – A few years ago, while working out at the gym, Salah “King Bolo” Ghazi realized something: most of the women at the gym were beautiful, and not just in an outwardly physical way. He took the moment to observe these women, who were “dressed to kill and coming with their A game at the gym,” and he became increasingly impressed with their determination and independence. Out of that experience this hip-hop artist from the West Coast created his latest single, “At The Gym.” It’s an anthem for all the women of the world who are taking charge of their lives and doing whatever they can to realize their fullest potential. The upbeat, motivational track is making waves along the West Coast and is sure to become an international hit in coming weeks and months.

“I wanted to make something for the ladies to empower them,” King Bolo said. “They have options as they try to work out and get their bodies and minds right, and this song can be something that gives them that motivation. My goal is to make commercial music that goes the distance. I’m interested in genre-bending and mixing other genres with hip-hop and exploring different sounds and styles. More than anything I’d rather be a dope songwriter than a dope rapper. And I think this track shows the best of all of that.”

Though music has played a big part of King Bolo’s life, it hasn’t been until the past couple of years that he’s taken it seriously and pursued a full-time career as a professional artist. He credits artists like Eminem and 50 Cent, as well as Bay Area artist Too Short, for serving as inspiration for him. When he heard their music he knew he needed to take his talents to the next level, and though he admits he’s dropped the ball a few times over the years, he’s now putting all his efforts into perfecting his signature sound and style.

One of the things that helps him stand out from the crowd is his lyrical content. King Bolo takes pride in going against the norm. He makes a point not to use any profanity, and he wants to present an image that’s more clean-cut and positive than what’s out there comparatively from the rest of the industry. Sometimes he tries to make sure there’s a deeper message in his music, while other times he’ll write things that are just fun to listen to.

“I’m an artist who doesn’t like to chase stats or ride a different wave from what I’m doing,” he said. “There are artists who stay relevant by just hopping on different trends. You might call them culture vultures because they know how to cash in on a certain sound or vibe. They’re chasing that fast quarter instead of the slow nickel. That’s not me. There’s not gimmick to me.”

King Bolo said he’s anxious for more listeners to check out “At The Gym,” and said he’s already at work developing another single called “Give Me Your Love,” which he plans to release this summer. To listen to his music, or to follow him on social media, please visit the following links:

Dutch – Clarity

Blog, Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Videos

Abstract rap pairs with intriguing melodies on new EP ‘Feel Something’

DALLAS, TX – Dutch from Dallas is an artist who loves to get people hyped. He has sounds and styles made for all types of people all around the world – upbeat and happy music, or vibes for those who are in the dumps and feeling down. By talking about his own lows in life he helps to inspire others, and his diverse musical offerings take people in whatever mood they might find themselves in and move them into a more positive frame of mind.

That diversity is put on full display with his latest EP, “Feel Something,” which is currently available across all streaming platforms. Across six songs, Dutch gives and abstract offering of rap without any big ego.

“It’s just good music,” he said. “I’m showing people what I can do with music and where I’m coming from. People can listen to this project and get a feel of where I’m coming from. I’m a guy who is just doing what I want to do. And whatever mood people might be in or relatable experience, I want to have a song for it.”

The debut single from the project is a song called “Clarity.” A music video for the single was recently released, and like the song is also abstract and psychedelic. It’s a hype song that Dutch said serves as a type of anthem for anyone in the world who needs to give themselves a break and accept forgiveness.

“It’s about freeing myself and forgiving myself and realizing some things about myself and being willing to make changes,” he said. “The video is very abstract and shot here in Dallas. I wanted to bring the city life of Dallas to the forefront. I feel like we have a nice downtown setting, so there are a lot of shots of downtown and of me roaming the streets and subways, rapping and dancing and just being free.”

Dutch said he first started his journey as a full-time musician when he was younger. He first played the drums, and as he got older he and his brother started a garage band with one of their neighbors. They covered early 2000s punk rock bands, and over time his curiosity with music evolved into learning about rap and wanting to learn how to write and rhyme. He began to study artists like Future and Kid Cudi and Pharrell because he loved how bold they came on the track. He dived head-first into perfecting his craft, and over time developed a signature sound and style that is undeniably unique.

“I think what makes me stand out is that I’m able to pop through different genres and I’m diverse with melodies and instrumentals,” he said. “I feel like I can do it all with any type of beat. I write about my highs and lows and the love I have for the sound and rhythm of beats. I think I’ll continue with this music for as long as I can because it helps me deal with highs and lows of my life.”

KG Kriid – Smokin’

Blog, Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Promo, Videos

KG Kriid offers chill vibe for stress-filled audiences worldwide with new single ‘Smokin’

MANSFIELD, OH – In Damarias Fuller’s, “Kriid” is a word that’s often on the tip of his lips. It’s a word his brother made up as a synonym for the moments in life when something is great. If he were to see some flowers on the side of the road, or if he was having a great day, they would be “Kriid” flowers or he’d be having a “Kriid” day. It’s a word that represents a way of life, and anyone who comes alongside him and embraces that way of life is part of his Kriid Gang.

His music is the through-point of the Kriid Gang, and he inspires people all over the world with new sounds and styles born from a life of making music. His latest single, “Smokin’,” is a straight vibe ready-made to help people relieve stress and let loose at the end of a tough day.

“If you’re going through some stress or your stressed, just roll up and smoke your stress away,” KG Kriid said. “It’s like a spiritual song for people who stress out and go through hard times. It’s a song that just says, ‘Sit back and take a breather and relax and think about stuff.’ Inhale and exhale.”

The chill vibe of the song features some melodic undertones that serve as a perfect foundation for his equally chill vocals. It’s just the most recent example of how diverse he is as an artist. Over the course of his young career he’s shown the world how he can sing, rap, play the piano, mix and master, produce, compose, write, engineer, and just about anything else that one might associate with a career in the music industry. Chris Brown is his No. 1 inspiration, and he said he hopes to emulate the R&B legend’s career by creating songs that showcase his own “crazy vocals.”

“I make positive, chill music,” he said. “I make music to help people to feel and understand there are other people going through the same things they’re going through. With my music, I can change others hopefully. Music is my everything, and I know how it can help others, too.”

Following “Smokin’,” KG Kriid said he’s already hard at work on an album called “Pain, which he expect to release later this year. He also recently released a video for “Smokin’,” which features fellow artist and his older brother, Tae Da Khid. KG Kriid has a feature on Tae Da Khid’s single “God’s Child,” as well.
