SACRAMENTO, CA – A fresh sound from young new artist Aaron Le is about to hit the market with his debut album “Trouble,” set to drop across all streaming platforms on Aug. 14. The 10-song project perfectly displays this Asian-American’s mastery of R&B vibes interlaced with Hip Hop and Pop for a truly signature style. With soaring vocals reminiscent of Smokey Robinson, Stevie Wonder and Bruno Mars, Aaron Le has the kind of sound that is sure to pierce through the crowded market and hit the ears of new fans all over the world.

Le said “Trouble” is a project that explores a handful of different themes that all circle around the idea of toxic relationships. He adopts a kind of old-school gangster vibe as a person and he takes listeners on a journey through different scenarios that are equally whimsical and witty. But the overall experience is one that’s both fun and entertaining in a way that demands repeat plays.

“The whole aesthetic is embracing the idea of trouble in all its forms,” Le said. “All of the songs kind of tie together under that idea – whether I’m talking about girls or myself or other guys who might be trouble for girls. The main single, which is also called ‘Trouble,’ talks about wanting somebody not good for you, but even though they’re toxic and bad for you, you still want her. But the overall project can be taken however people want to take it – girls are trouble or he’s trouble or different kinds of trouble.” 

The project is produced and distributed by State of Gold Music with whom Le signed for a one-EP project. Floyd Armbrester, CEO of State of Gold Music, discovered Le and has worked with him over the past year through various collaborations of artists also on the label – including the singles “Overtime” featuring The Mekanix, “Smell Like Money” featuring Clyde Carson, and “Girl I’m The Man” featuring Keak da Sneak. All three of these HOT tracks were featured on the State of Gold California Album.

As a Vietnamese-American who loves Hip Hop and R&B, Le said he hopes to be able to inspire other young Asian-Americans who have dreams of making it in the entertainment industry. Le developed his passion for music early in life by listening to Hip Hop music with his older brother who was involved in break dancing. Le said he fell in love with the sounds of artists like Michael Jackson, Chris Brown and Usher, among others. When he started singing their songs, others began to notice that he had a great voice and encouraged him to develop his sound. At age 16, Le was introduced to Q Made The Beats who had his own studio. The two worked together and recorded some early tracks that more than anything else helped Le catch the bug for the art of making music. He hasn’t looked back since and is excited to partner with State of Gold Music to launch his debut album.

“I hope people hear my music and have fun and recognize me as someone who has a young spirit,” Le said. “I also hope I can inspire other Asian-Americans to know that they can do it. It’s tough in this industry to have a signature, and I want to inspire younger cats so that they can believe in themselves and follow their dreams. I believe I have the sound to cross demographics and genres and reach people all over the world, and eventually have it go down in history.”

Marthefinesser puts unique twist on Charlotte sound with new mixtape ‘Heartbreaks & Roses’

CHARLOTTE, NC – – There’s a certain sound that Hip Hop artists from Charlotte, North Carolina are known for. It’s a sound often associated with musicians like Dababy and Stunna, and it’s a sound that young up-and-coming “Prince of the Carolinas” Marthefinesser definitely exhibits. But his is also a sound that takes that signature Charlotte style and expands on it by introducing melodies and story-based lyrics in ways that are distinct and stand out. That signature style takes center stage on his latest mixtape, “Heartbreaks & Roses” which is currently available across all digital distribution sites.

The debut single from the project, “Notice,” has been turning heads all up and down the East Coast since the mixtape was released. Once a somewhat unknown artist in a not well-known music town, “Notice” helped to put Marthefinesser on the map... No longer is his a face that goes unrecognized around town, his single has become a mainstay in local clubs and on radio stations. “It’s my biggest song yet,” he said. “Basically it’s a song where I’m telling people how I’m trying to stay focused and go hard at my grind. I’m not bothering with nobody and I don’t want to be bothered, basically. I excel at telling stories with a melody – stories that are authentic and real. It isn’t the typical sound going around Charlotte but people love that vibe. I like to get people involved in feeling where I come from and hearing that emotion. I also like to get people grinning and remembering things from their own lives. This song is a vibe of me releasing that energy, and people feel it. I think that’s what separates me from people in my city, but I’m still using that Charlotte type of vibe while adding a melody.”

Another song from the mixtape – and Marthefinesser’s personal favorite – is the love song “Strange Addiction.” What started out as a poem he wrote expressing his love toward a woman has turned into an anthem that both women and men are embracing. The hook in particular is one that resonates with listeners, with lyrics that say “Let me show you, you can forget the old dude. Even when I’m mad at you, I still hold you. Just promise me that you’re different and you won’t fold, too.”

“It’s like a poem with punchlines,” he said. “I wasn’t expecting too many other guys to get into it, but they really love it. There have been quite a few other dudes tagging me on social media while they’re singing along to it, and I was really surprised. That’s been a good one for me, right there.”

In addition to the mixtape, Marthefinesser said he’s working on more music that should release later this year, as well as a new video for “Strange Addiction.”

Mississippi master of freestyle drops stream-of-conscious summer jam with new single ‘Hot Sh*t’

LAS VEGAS, NV – Raw and real take center stage with the latest single from Las Vegas rapper AJ1K. “Hot Sh*t” is aggressive and upbeat while showcasing AJ1K’s ability as a freestyle artist to spit lyrics that are simultaneously entertaining and challenging to the listener. It’s a song that “tells the story of how people are today,” AJ1K said, while focusing on a stream of conscious delivery that opts to leave out a hook in favor of an unending flow of raw emotion in lyrical form.

The single comes on the heels of AJ1K’s successful debut album “Code Red” which he released in 2016. Since that album’s release, he said he’s worked hard at learning more of the industry and business side of music. That said, his debut album was so successful that it caught the attention of Lil Boosie who reached out to him after hearing the album online and invited AJ1K to his house for a listening session.

“I grew up in Mississippi, so the artists I grew up on were Lil Boosie, UGK and 8 Ball,” AJ1K said. “That’s the type of style I grew up on and it really influences my sound. As a child, I was always capable of rapping and I could always freestyle really well off the top of my head. But I never thought I’d get to meet my idol. And when he invited me to his house for a listening session after my ‘Code Red’ release, it really gave me a boost of confidence and made me really buckle down and start to take music seriously.”

That’s when he decided to change his stage name to AJ1K – a play off his birth name, Alfred Jenkins, and the 1,000 percent energy and attention to detail that he brings to everything he does, especially music.

“What I want my music to be known for most is my story,” he said. “‘Code Red’ is more of my storyline than anything else. It’s me being creative, but it’s also being real and authentic. I want to be remembered for that real-ness. I’ve gone through a lot in my life – I lost my mother last year to natural causes, for instance, and I’m only 23. That hit me hard and I put that in my music. So I hope people remember me for being real and being myself at all times. I want my legacy to be remembered for being 1,000.”

As he continues to ride the wave of success from “Hot Sh*t,” AJ1K said he’s hard at work on the follow-up album to “Code Red” which he’s tentatively calling “Code Red 2.” He hopes to release that in early 2021.

‘The Good Ole Days’ from Justin Cooper is the perfect song to end the summer

NEW YORK, NY – It’s that time of year when the summer’s nearly over and you begin to cling to the good memories you’ve created – even in the midst of one of the most unusual years in recent memory. That sentimentality is perfectly captured in the new single from East Coast artist Justin Cooper. Justin said the Pop and R&B fusion of the song creates a chill, uplifting vibe that was inspired by some of his favorite artists such as The Chain Smokers, Max Martin and The Beatles. To date, fans have reacted well to the song with more than 100,000 plays on various digital platforms. Justin said he hopes to bring a fresh voice to the table, with lyrics that reflect his raw transparency.

“I speak from the heart in all of my songs,” he said. “Everything I talk about is purely what I’m feeling in the moment. I don’t try to shape my sound with a specific target in mind. I’m completely raw and authentic, and I’m doing every aspect of the music on my own – writing, producing, engineering and mastering. I’m just trying to live out my dream and there’s nothing manufactured about me.”

As he rides this wave of success from “The Good Ole Days,” Justin said he’s also hard at work on more songs that he’s planning on putting together into an EP which should drop later this year. South Florida rapper drops mixtape filled with bangers and lyrical stories

MIAMI, FL – One of the hottest up-and-coming storytellers in Hip Hop has dropped a hot new mixtape called “Out The Shadows” and the debut single from the project is lighting up the country with its fresh energy and crazy beat.

The song is called “Circus” and it comes from South Florida rapper Trill. Though he’s been rapping since age 11, “Out The Shadows” is his first official mixtape, and the success of its debut single shows that he’s coming out of the shadows with a bang.

“There are so many good rappers out there that you’ve never heard of, and they’re like the Ninja Turtles coming out of the sewers right now, kicking ass,” Trill said. “That’s what I’m doing. It’s time for people to know who I am, and that’s what this project is all about.”

“Circus” is a club banger that is the perfect song for the summer. Trill said he’s been into music from a young age when his mother used to work for IJ Records. He recalls one memory in particular when the record label brought in the group Humble Thugs who were on the verge of making it big in the industry. He joined his mother in the studio as the group recorded, and he was impressed by the group’s lyrical ability. It motivated him to write his own song which he and his younger sister performed. He started studying lyricists like Andre 300, Eminem and Meek Mills, as well as some of the best orators in history, such as Malcolm X and Martin Luther King Jr. He took inspiration from their mastery of the spoken word and has used that to develop his own unique sound and style today.

“I consider myself a lyricist,” he said. “I can tell stories. I’m not a drill rapper or a mumble rapper. I’m a lyricist. I like to tell a story, but I like for everything I say to make sense. I don’t like repeating myself over and over which is what most rappers are doing today because it’s catchy. I like making bangers and feeding off whatever I come up with. If I come up with a hook, I feed off it. But first and foremost, I’m a lyricist and storyteller, and I want to be known for being a great rapper.”

Tragedy sparks new trajectory for Chicago-based artist GottiDinero

CHICAGO, IL – Life shifted when Tay Mulla got the news that his brother and cousin died in a car crash this year. The young Hip Hop artist from the Englewood section of Chicago had been rapping with his brother for years, and the two had been slowly making a name for themselves throughout the greater Chicago area as rappers who should be taken seriously. His brother’s name was GottiDinero, and to honor him and make sure that name never gets lost to history, Tay has adopted the stage name as his own.

GottiDinero said music became a central part of his life at a young age. He remembers listening to Lil Wayne as young as age 3. As he grew a little older, his cousin found a way for them to record on SoundCloud which sparked his journey in rap. Though his cousin would eventually walk away from music, GottiDinero never did. He fell into music, and about two years ago, he’d reached a point where he began releasing his music to the world. He shot his first music video and things began to take off. Then tragedy struck with his brother.

“It happened on June 17th this year,” he said. “My brother was with my cousin and sister and two friends. Four of them were ejected out of the car, but my cousin was stuck in the car and died on the spot. My brother, sister and friends were in the hospital. He died in the hospital and so did another girl. But my sister and her friend survived and healed pretty quickly. Thank God they healed quick. It took me a little while but I eventually realized I wanted to make sure my brother’s name is still out there and lives on. Any time they see me, they see his face. That’s what I hope my music does – passes that legacy along.”

To this day, he considers her to be the perfect match and can’t understand how everything ended, and that raw emotion finds its way into every track of the album in ways that are sure to resonate with millions of people around the globe who have experienced similar relationship hardships.

“As much as it hurts, I’m glad I had that experience because she is someone who ended up being a muse for my music,” Aeropryme said. “I feel it and it’s magnificent. I want to spread love in my music and I’m manifesting the love that I felt with her and putting it into my Album, and in my own way I’m making those real moments last forever in my songs. I’m sharing with people how I’ve dealt with heartbreak over the past year and how that has helped me to focus on my music and career and get better as a person and songwriter. This album will have run-of-the-mill Trap songs but without any of the curse words or intentional shallow lyrics typical of the genre. It will also have very, very sad love songs. Both of those things are true reflections of the journey I’ve been experiencing over the last few years. This particular lady was the final piece of the puzzle for how I have always wanted to venture out and deliver my music. I’ve collaborated with many artists around the globe and I have been credited on other people’s projects as well, but this album is the culmination of my life’s work. I’ve been doing music for 15 years and for the first time in my life, I’m comfortable and creative enough to release an album to the world. I’ve been a major player on the underground scene for a long time but with this album, I really believe I can become a major international recording artist.”

When it comes to love, Barryle is no stranger to its ups and downs. He credits his wife, Nala as his muse and the one person who has not only stood beside him while he chased this dream of being a professional musician, but lifted him up in times when he doubted himself.

“Valentine’s Day weekend of 2016 is a good example of that,” he said. “We were approaching our first Valentine’s Day as a married couple. I had finished recording my first full self-produced album ‘Jean, DeAnna, B.Major’ on my birthday on Feb. 8, and Valentine’s Day was the following Sunday. I only had a little more than $100 to my name, and I was trying to think of things we could do for Valentine’s Day that would have meaning but wouldn’t cost as much because I wasn’t going to get paid for another 12 days. I went to our bedroom to tell her that the album was done and she said, ‘Good. There’s a guy on Facebook printing 100 CDs for $100. You should get some.’ I let her know why I thought I should wait and she fought me until I gave in and called the guy. We went and picked up the CDs on Valentine’s Day weekend, stuffed CDs and inserts into sleeves and went to barbershops and hair salons singing with my guitar. We sold well over those 100 CDs that we ordered and had to print more. We ended our weekend on Valentine’s Day and I asked Nala – with a replenished bank account – ‘What do you want to do for Valentine’s Day?’ She immediately pointed me to an open mic and we spent the day working together to reach this goal. From that open mic, I met a great friend who sent me to a gig in his place because he couldn’t make it, and from that moment forward, my career hasn’t slowed down. Nala has become my music and I’m amazed daily by her. Every time I attempt to slip back into being the insecure person I used to be, she reminds me of who I am. She just completes my puzzle.”

It’s stories like that – deeply emotional but also relational – that find their way into Barryle’s songs time and time again. He has a big archive of music that he’s created over the past five years, and he’s set to release a new single every Friday from now until the end of the year.

New sound of Soul Bleu Cloud launches first half of
two-part album ‘Blue Magic’

BRONX, NY – A new sound in Soul is making its way onto the scene from up-and-coming New York artist Bleu Cloud. Her latest two-part project “Blue Magic” is the kind that propels young artists on the global stage with its signature sound and throwback vibes that immediately have listeners thinking of legends like Lauryn Hill, Anita Baker and even Prince.

Bleu Cloud is a 24-year-old R&B and Soul musician, singer, songwriter, producer, violinist, composer and overall artist who was born and raised in The Bronx. In her words, she “came out of the womb singing” and has been living a life that’s bathed in music. She started playing violin and composing music as early as third grade and hasn’t looked back since. Following the footsteps of her DJ father and singing mother, young Bleu Cloud has created a unique sound and style that is reintroducing Soul and Disco into R&B in ways that are timeless and very much needed in this day and age.

The first of the two-part project was released this summer and features four songs that have a distinct 80s or 90s Soul feel while also introducing progressive twists that are current. “Everyone is kind of doing the same singing style of R&B these days, and I wanted to bring the soul back into R&B,” Bleu Cloud said. “I like to listen to Anita Baker and Whitney Houston and neo-soul artists, and I’ve taken their sound and created music that I would want to listen to. At the end of the day, I want my music to be associated with love, not sex, but the kind of love that makes people happy and brings joy to life.”

Two singles from the EP have been getting some major attention since its release. The first is “Make It Last” which has a definitive island vibe with an almost Reggae or Bossa Nova beat that pairs perfectly with her layered vocals. Bleu Cloud’s ear-candy harmonies showcase her soulful side eloquently and invite the listeners into a smooth vibe that entices them to just sit back and chill. The other is “Show and Tell” which is a slow-jam dance track that Bleu Cloud said was an attempt to give people something to two-step to at the club. Her light, airy vocals create an ethereal vibe that is chill and laid-back while also being wavy in ways that make the listener want to sway and move.

Timely EP from deep-thinking rapper Khalmplex challenges perceptions and encourages the youth of the world to ‘Ascend’ beyond stereotypes

SAN ANTONIO, TX – The lyrical depth found on the new EP from South Texas rapper Khalmplex certainly lives up to the promise of his name. With double entendres and witty wordplay, the six songs on “Ascend” weave a complex web – but that doesn’t mean it’s inaccessible. In fact, this up-and-coming artist from San Antonio said this is perhaps his most relatable project to date.

Khalmplex’s journey in music started at a young age but really took off at age 17 when he and his best friend were signed to a small label in San Antonio. He recalls getting in the booth and spitting a verse and the record execs telling him that his writing was too complex. He didn’t know any better – he was just trying to emulate his favorite rappers. When he threw out a second rap he’d written, they told him it was even more complex than the first one. Instead of walking away from that vibe however, it’s something that he’s embraced. His career has consisted of deeper songs that use words with double meanings and encourage listeners to consider a different point of view. He’s also known for his energy, and again, his name speaks toward that calm before the storm. That energy is put on full display with the six songs on his new EP “Ascend.”

“This is me trying to focus on the heavier side of music,” Khalmplex said. “There is a lot of double meanings in the stuff I do, and I wanted to push the idea of rising above what’s handed to you. Everyone born of poverty is beat up on and there’s an attitude of ‘this is what it’s got to be.’ But you can change your attitude and decide to rise above and be whatever you want to be.”

The project starts with the first of three skits featuring rising star Jackboy of Sniper Gang Entertainment, making way for the first single “Ascenion” which Khalmplex describes as a sample of what he’s feeling during this current time of history. He’s venting frustrations while also setting the stage for the rest of the EP. This makes way for “In Danger,” a song that examines the inner struggle of the age-old angel on one shoulder and demon on the other. He said people will often point out the flaws in your life and tell you that you’re in trouble. But with this song, he’s flipping that and saying, “I’m not in trouble, I am the trouble. I’m turning the disadvantage into an advantage.”

The third and fourth songs on the EP are the most transparent and personal to Khalmplex and were inspired by the recent loss of his older brother. Song three is called “11:11 (Be Great)” and song four is “Frank White.” The former features slower guitar riffs and auto tune vocals in soulful ways that help listeners feel the desperation many artists feel when their backs are against the wall.

“Sometimes it gets to the point where you ask yourself why you’re even doing this when everyone is against you,” he said. “My answer to myself was that I wanted to be great. I’m using the gifts I was given and the tools I was given to create something better than what I see in front of me. It’s basically me pushing back and saying I’m not doing this for nothing. The idea for the name of it came as I was struggling with the loss of my brother. I kept seeing repeating numbers everywhere – all ones or all threes. And I read something that said 11:11 is when God sends a calling to his angels. It’s time to get to work. The term for it is the call to the light keepers, and that’s something I wanted to embrace. It’s a song that leads directly into ‘Frank White,’ which was the name of a fictional character in the film ‘King of New York.’ In that story, someone is trying to take the reins and rise to the position of boss because they just lost their general. That’s what I’ve had to do since my brother passed. So this is a song of me announcing a position of power and calling all my people to follow me and I’ll take us where we need to be. It’s a heavy song, for sure, with more of a gothic Rap feel, but I think people will dig it. We shot a video for it and put a lot of work into. It’s more of a get-up-and-go type of song with a sense of empowerment than anything else.”

The project ends with the songs “Crime Stories” and “No Investors,” the first of which was done in collaboration with Houston Rapper Juan Gotti out of the SPM camp. “No Investors” finishes the EP with a challenge to the young people of the world to rise above their station in life and don’t complain about the hard things that have been handed to them. Instead of complaining, he said, get to work and don’t let anyone else tell you what you can be.

“Nobody can stop you and tell you no,” he said.
