Fortunxte – Stripes

Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Promo

Fortunxte inspires others to pursue dreams with vibey new album ‘Inertia’

FLINT, MI – Newton’s First Law of Motion states that for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. In terms of life-change, it often takes a powerful force to move someone from a place of complacency to an intentional active pursuit of fulfilling one’s dreams. That stillness before the action is called inertia and it’s that process that Michigan artist Fortunxte explores with his new 12-song album of the same name – “Inertia”.  Eight songs on the album were produced by my brother who goes by the name Trey Timez. One of those songs is “Black Don’t Crack”.

“I’m basically saying we are that force of gravity that controls whether we reach our goals or not,” Fortunxte said of his album which is currently available across all streaming platforms. “I’m trying to capture the power of thought with a vibe that is like something you can ride to. There are a lot of melodies in there because I love to work with melodies, and there’s a lot of lyrical rap with a message. That’s what I want my music to be known for – dope music with a message. I’m trying to say something to people and I want my music to inspire and have an impact on their lives.”

Based out of Flint, Michigan, Fortunxte uses his love and gift for writing music as a form of therapy – telling stories about his life struggles and internal struggles with self-doubt. Through music, he attempts to convey messages that spark inspiration with others. As the son of a musician and manager for other artists, young Fortunxte grew up in the studio. Though he said he never had a desire to be a professional musician when he was young, the process of writing and singing and creating a song has always been something that he’s loved. While in college, he was drawn to the professionalism of some friends who were creating music and recording new songs, and it was through that process that he realized he has a passion for it that he knows won’t be satisfied until he’s put all his effort into seeing his dreams realized.

“I’ve been doing it seriously ever since then,” he said. “It’s innate in me and over the years, I’ve developed a style that I think shows how I approach making music differently than anyone else out there. I’m not going to write a song if it doesn’t mean anything. I want to make music to strike a chord in you – to make you feel something. If my words or melodies or songs aren’t going to do that, then I don’t want to do it.”

Perhaps the best example of this from the new album is the single “Stripes” which has already garnered the young artist thousands of plays across streaming platforms. The upbeat, fun record explores the trials and tribulations of Fortunxte’s life in a way that reminds listeners that it’s OK to have fun after you’ve worked hard.

“Sometimes you need to have that stress release and just go out there and have fun,” he said.

Another single that’s resonating with fans is “Black Don’t Crack” which will soon be getting an animated video perhaps by the end of May, Fortunxte said. It’s a song that he says he wrote in response to the number of African Americans being shot and killed.

“I was angry and frustrated and disappointed in America,” he said. “I wanted to tell my people that no matter what happens – no matter how many get killed or degraded or put down – we won’t fold. We’ll keep on striving and keep on going no matter what.”

That song and others are making a splash for this young up-and-coming artist, and increasing numbers of fans across the U.S. are clamoring to get a taste of his unique sound and style.

Ciroc Devito 2x – Soul Bleed

ME Blog, Music, Promo, Videos

New music from Ciroc Devito 2X
comes with hard-hitting yet inspirational messages

KALAMAZOO, MI – Ciroc Devito 2X is the epitome of a painter with words. His stories and metaphors put listeners into an ambient trance that transports them to different worlds where sound and style combine to create a lasting memory. His latest visual effort is a single called “Soul Bleed,” a song that explores the depths of deeper relationships.

“I’m not holding anything back with this one,” Ciroc said of the single. “It’s about relationship problems and problems in the street and emotional problems that we’re all going through at some time – and I sum all that up in one song.”

The single is but another hit from a string of big hits coming from this Kalamazoo, Michigan native. His name is an acronym for Chase It Regardless of Consequence, which he said is the motto of his life. It’s a motto that was born from life on the streets which eventually landed him in jail. Now free on parole, this young artist is using the talents he developed while in prison to connect with fans all over the world.

“Some people like to go with the flow, whether the outcome is good or bad,” he said. “That’s what my motto is all about. Whatever makes you happy, that’s what you should do. Even though there are things I used to do that I couldn’t tell my momma about, I feel like I got a positive impact from my past and I can pass that along to other people. Regardless of what happens, I’m gonna do what I want to do.”

Ciroc said he takes pride in his versatility and ability to tell a story, though he admits that many might consider his approach to be somewhat paradoxical. But out of that approach, he said he knows he can have an influence on other people – whether that’s as simple as creating a beat that gets people on their feet wanting to dance, or listening to lyrics that connect through “real-life shit.”

“I’m just like every other little kid who was affected and influenced by the greats,” Ciroc said. “The legends of music… I’ve been putting my own spin on it since I was knee-high – looking for punchlines or coming up with a concept for a song. I’ve been perfecting my craft and over the years, I have mastered a new technique. All of that experience and technique combine to make my sound excellent. I had to learn a lot of stuff on my own, but I grew over time and I’m here now with a sound that’s not like anyone else out there.”

That sound is further put on display with two other recent singles that Ciroc said have garnered a lot of attention from fans. The first is “No More,” an emotional song for the ladies in which the artist apologizes to his past loves for the hardships he put them through while trying to convince them that he’s trying to turn over a new leaf. “I’m not a bad dude no more,” he said. The other is “In They Bag,” which is more of an aggressive take on people who are quick to embrace fads.

“I’m questioning trends and why people brag about being successful when they don’t really have anything yet,” he said. “A lot of my songs have pain to them and are real emotions. Some of that is because I wrote a lot of songs while I was locked up, and I’m starting to release them now that I’m out. I know that other people can relate to them and in some ways, I’m relating to them again in different ways at this time in my life. I’ve killed my old persona and my old habits now that I’m back, and people are seeing a whole new version of me.”

G2G – No Prescription

Blog, Music, Promo

Mike C Da Champ and Tip Toe from soulful duo G2G demonstrate their combined power with new single “No Prescription”

AUSTIN, TX – Two artists at the top of their game, Michael “Mike C Da Champ” Caro and Jeramy ”Tip Toe” Moore came together under the name G2G (Gangstas 2 Gentlemen) to bring music that touches people. G2G is spreading their everlasting brand of southern storytelling style which is unique to the Hip Hop genre. “With underground storytelling, you get brain food. Something you can really apply to your everyday life,” said Tip Toe. G2G’s style also has more range than mainstream Hip Hop. “Down south, we really have a different way of telling our stories. It’s more raw.” Mike C said. “You get more of a vivid picture from an underground perspective.”

The unstoppable duo is telling their own story with their new single, “No Prescription.” Recorded in their Austin home studio known as “The Bat Cave,” the song shows that G2G delivers what has been missing in Hip Hop. This duo is on their way, and if you’re not grooving to G2G, there’s no prescription for you!

The two artists have successfully found their own distinct sound to share in this collaboration. Mike C said “There are a lot of people who don’t have their own sound because they feel they have to follow what is popular right now.” While incorporating the best of popular music trends, it’s important to them to create something different that stands out. “When you turn on a G2Gsong, “Mike C said, “you’ll know that’s Mike C on the hook and that’s Tip Toe on that verse, or vice-versa.”

“No Prescription” is part of a major project titled “Born Legend / Boss King.” The artists are putting together singles for this dual collection which highlights the individual personalities of Mike C (“Born Legend”) and Tip Toe (Boss King) on about 42 tracks. The final mixing and mastering is being done on the recordings which will be released on all major digital music platforms.

The two members of G2G are seasoned professionals who have each enjoyed successful careers individually. Mike C was signed to Universal Records UK and Top Dollar Records, giving him the opportunity to work with several South and the West Coast artists. Under the management of Bruce Hawes & Carlos Hernandez, Mike C became a soulful southern storyteller.

Shortly after Tip Toe was signed to Trixone Records, he dropped his first album “Wise Guy” and performed regularly. He was also featured on numerous mixtapes with Screwed Up Records and Tosin.

In 2011, Mike C and Tip Toe joined forces with a group called U.S. Gang (aka “Underground Soldiers”). Although Mike C and Tip Toe did not work together, they were both featured on The U.S. Gang’s album, “U.S.” At the time, Mike C was running his own label, Mash Entertainment, and Tip Toe created his own record label and publishing company, Bangnation. Not long after the U.S. Gang disbanded, Mash Entertainment and Bangnation merged to form Mash Maab. The two men released their first project together titled “Open For Business” and in 2012, they formed G2G. Over the years, G2G who were strongly influenced by groups like Outkast, UGK, and Eightball and MJG has released several mixtapes including “Guns & Butter,” “Ugly,” “Kingz Of The Corner Pt1 & Pt2,” and albums such as “A.B.A,” “Music Money,” “Bacc 2 Da Basics” and “#WeGotThatWork.”

One of their next endeavors will be a podcast called “The Bar.” Mike C and Tip Toe will be giving their guests the VIP treatment by bringing in a licensed mixologist to make their favorite drinks during the interview.

These two motivated individuals complement each other in this highly creative duo. Eager to grab the listener’s ear, Mike C loves doing hooks, while Tip Toe loves writing verses. Of course, each of them can do the other, and it’s delicious whatever way they work. As Mike C put it – “We put that together to create, just like beans and rice.” G2G is making music that all ages can feel, dropping good mood songs and songs for when you feel like a boss. They’re delivering “music that makes you want to go clock in and work 15 hours,” as Tip Toe said, “and some good music that makes you want to hop in the kitchen and cook.” Their music has a little bit of everything for all occasions!

Taliban Herb – Finer Things

Blog, ME Blog, Music, Promo, Videos

Detroit Hip Hop artist, Taliban Herb displays versatility with captivating new music

DETROIT, MI – As a creator who won’t be confined to one style, Taliban Herb likes to work with several different genres. His SoundCloud catalog of nearly thirty well-crafted songs features Hip Hop, R&B and Soul works. He even made a Rock song (which was not released) just to see if he could do it. This versatile performer who can sing as well as rap, has amassed over one million authentic streams for his music. He recently brought out a particularly catchy track, “Finer Things.”

Released late last year, “Finer Things” talks about females who enjoy designer accessories and eating at the best places. A melodic song that is hard to stop listening to, “Finer Things” is about materialistic women who only return to the singer for the money. The track was written and engineered by Herb himself and will be released on all major digital platforms this month.

Taliban Herb has a unique sound that is as original as his name. He blends expert lyricism with super tight melodies and talks about relevant topics from everyday life. His style is in the same vein as other music that is blowing up right now, reminiscent of the likes of Lil Tjay, Polo G and A Boogie Wit da Hoodie.

Last month, Herb released his song, “That’s It” as a big flex to showcase what he can do with his vocabulary and lyrics. The artist wondered to himself “How many punch lines can I put in this song?” and came up with a track that masterfully shows what he is capable of. By dropping a piece like “That’s It,” the artist flaunts his ability to switch between different styles, moving from singing on tracks, to rapping and back to singing.

Some of Herb’s other stand out tracks include “99 Problems,” “Go” and “Lies” which were written when he was feeling particularly low about a lady. Catchy and perfectly executed, “Lies” has outperformed every other song in his current catalog.

Born Sheldon Thomas in Farmington Hills, Michigan, the 24 year old was heavily influenced by artists such as Drake, Lil Wayne and Jay-Z. Herb started rapping when he was around 12 years old. His first project was a mixtape recorded in a basement on a home studio setup with an old laptop and an inexpensive mic. “No tables. No beds. Nothing,” he said. “We had no money, we just took a shot.”

He has moved up from the basement and now lives in Detroit where he is working on a new single. Always experimenting with new grooves, Herb will be rapping to a Dancehall beat for the first time on this single. He is challenging himself to execute this new direction perfectly. Judging by his previous successes, he undoubtedly will triumph once again.

Lady Icess – Achoo

Blog, Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Promo

Lady Icess drops hot new album ‘Real. Nasty. Fun.’

HOUSTON, TX – One of the most powerful moments of clarity came to Hip Hop artist Lady Icess when she was at her lowest.

Hailing from Houston, Texas, this young artist at one point found herself homeless and desperate for anything positive to look to. She loved music but it didn’t seem to make sense to pursue music when the reality of her situation was that she needed enough money to buy her next meal. But it was in the midst of that turmoil that she realized that the best times in her life were when she was just having fun – when she could let loose and not worry about life’s responsibilities and could let the music that she loved take over everything. If she could tap into that feeling and by extension give that feeling to others, then her life could mean something.

It was a beginning, and what started out as a seed of determination turned into a full-fledged career as one of the country’s hottest new artists. Her latest album, “Real. Nasty. Fun.” is a testament to her journey and the fulfillment of years of hard work and dedication to her craft.

“I realized in my life that all I needed was Real Nasty Fun,” Lady said. “That’s the overall vibe of this project. There are some songs that are real-life and people will be able to relate to. There are some songs that are pure fun. And there are some songs that are explicit and nasty. That’s who I am. I’m sassy, sarcastic, fun, ambitious … and the things I’ve gone through haven’t knocked me down. They’ve brought me back to my first love which is music. I want to be able to give other people that kind of hope, too.”

Coming from a family of musicians, singers and performers, Lady Icess has been surrounded by music for her entire life. When she was young, she developed her voice and unique ability to rap, but never took it seriously. When she found herself homeless, she was close to giving up on music altogether, but she has since put her all into making a career out of music. Since that time, she has had the opportunity to collaborate with the likes of artists and Grammy-nominated producers such as Beat King, June James and Mr. Inkredible, just to name a few. She self-released the album “Phucker Up” in 2012 to rave reviews and has continued to write and produce her own music in the years since. Her smart and go-getter attitude drove her to cofound the indie label So Brutalful Entertainment under which she also has branched out into modeling, acting, and all types of musical genres.

“I’m kind of old-school,” she said of her sound. “My influences are more of the 90s R&B and Rap, but I don’t just write for one specific genre. I try to mix all types of different genres into my songs. Some songs you can tell it was Rock-inspired, some Gospel-inspired, some hard-core Hip Hop, and some have a Pop vibe. I don’t want to ever be labeled as an artist who just does one thing. I think I’m very versatile and able to bring out different elements and create multiple sounds. And at the end of the day, I want for people to be able to relate and not feel like they have to be a specific way. The best thing in music is being pure. My music is to be known for my testimony – for the things I’ve been through and how I’ve come out better through it all. A lot of times with female artists, you always have to be a certain way or do this or be judged by things male artists can do. But this is my real life. This is me as a woman. These are my flaws. This is what happens. It’s not something to be embarrassed by. It’s my testimony and I’ve grown from it and moved on. Sometimes we’re ladies and sometimes we’re not, but who’s to judge? So in a lot of ways, my music is a testimony for women and anybody, really, who has been through hard times. Be your authentic self. Don’t lose yourself in the midst of any situation. Grow from those experiences.”

Jugoso – Jugoso Mood

Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Promo

Dallas rapper Jugoso sets a sexy vibe with new single ‘Jugoso Mood’

DALLAS, TX – Javier “Jugoso” Robles is a man of many talents. The former Marine from Dallas, Texas is not only an entrepreneur with a successful trucking business but also has a highly creative mind and unique ability to pair lyrical metaphors with catchy beats for the kind of music that sticks in the ears for a long time. His is the kind of music that sets a mood – from fun to somber to introspective to romantic and everything in between.

His newest single, “Jugoso Mood,” is the kind of song that creates an environment perfect for a sexual evening with that special someone. Currently available across all streaming platforms, it’s a song that Jugoso has seen garner him thousands of plays and which is creating a buzz for this up-and-coming artist. He said it’s the kind of song that not only reflects the kind of music he makes, but also illustrates his ability to write lyrics that go beyond just catchy hooks.

“I make what I like to listen to,” he said. “I’ve been told I like to ride the beat. I usually start by finding a beat I like a lot and start writing to that – finding the hook first and then working my way backward. I use a lot of alliteration, metaphors and similes. And I make references to all kinds of things, from political events to sports to double entendres inspired by culture. I want you to remember it after you hear it, especially the hook. And I want you to recognize that my music is more mature than you might think. As long as someone really enjoys the song, that’s all I want. I think that’s what music is really all about. You don’t have to raise your pitchfork for every song. You don’t have to be an activist. If you just like the song, that’s cool for me. But if something else comes out of it, great!”

Jugoso is a first generation Mexican-American whose parents moved to the U.S. before he was born. Though music was always something he loved as a child, he never considered making a career of it. He credits the band Linkin Park for inspiring him to consider creating music of his own.

“When I heard them, I was blown away,” Jugoso said. “I thought it was so cool how they mixed Rap and Rock in the way they did. That’s what started my interest in what possibilities there could be for me with music. I had always dabbled in writing music but it was very rudimentary when I first started. When I got serious about it, I started studying some of the greats and people I really love like Lil Wayne and Mint Condition, and even Whitney Houston. I love her voice. I also studied people like Aaliyah and Tank. I think that shows in the music I make because I don’t stick to one style or flow. I can make Dance music or R&B or Rap or whatever. As long as someone really enjoys the song, that’s all I want.”

Xanakin Skywok – Eighties!

Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Promo, Videos

Hard-hitting Xanakin Skywok jolts listeners with new single ‘Eighties’

BAY AREA, CA – The West Coast has a mysterious new artist whose one-of-a-kind sound is bringing originality to the industry and causing a new wave of fans to pay attention.

Going by the name Xanakin Skywok, this Bay Area artist has released a new single called “Eighties” that perfectly showcases his new style of Rap. One part aggressive and hardcore and one part funny with a satirical nod to the 1980’s disco, the song is far different than what most fans of traditional Rap would expect. Lyrically, it has a little bit of everything – from storytelling, to introspective thought-provoking challenges, to sarcastic shots at pop culture celebrities, such as Amy Schumer.

It incorporates random things intended to get people riled up. That’s what his music is about– something that grabs and energizes you.  Whether you hate it or love it, it’s polarizing but attention-grabbing.  Most of his songs have hard-hitting punchlines. He has a great sense of humor and incorporates that in his music resulting in a novel and youthful zany vibe. There are only a few other rappers in the game today doing that, and it’s something we need more of in today’s music industry.

His music is best categorized as Hip Hop and loud Rap that incorporates aggressive and eccentric lyrics, fused with elements of metal, crunk and trap. His influences include XXXTentacion and Ski Mask the Slump God, among others. He combines those influences with a sound he’s been developing for many years, from the time he began writing lyrics at an early age. Since he launched his career in 2019, he’s developed a fan base that had helped him to accumulate more than 3.5 million views on YouTube. He has also collaborated with some upcoming artists in the West Coast, including a producer from the collective Internet Money Records.

He’s currently working on a collaboration project that should drop before the end of the summer, and plans to have another single come out before the end of May to join “Eighties” which is currently available across all streaming platforms. In all of his songs, he hopes to be provocative in ways that shock but also make people laugh.

This progressive rapper wants his music to be known for that WOW factor and how explosive and high-energy it is. Xanakin throws it at you and says, ‘Listen to this!’. It’s in your face but you can still have fun with it.

Zoe Gawd – Do You

Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Promo, Videos

Zoe Gawd prepares to shock the world with new album ‘Blanco’

QUEENS, NY – Zoe Gawd, born and raised in Jamaica, Queens, New York has been ascending in the Hip Hop scene since her start in 2016. Molded by the legendary landscape of the 90s, she began putting pen to poetry at the age of 8 and has since proven to be an award-winning talent whose unique sound and style is gaining increased attention along the East Coast. Her new album, “Blanco” set to be released in mid-May, will be one that will put her on the map all across the U.S. and even internationally.

The project is one that Zoe said serves as a bold introduction of her talents as an artist. It displays her ability to write compelling lyrics across a diverse spectrum of genres and sounds.

“I want this to be a ‘Wow!’ moment for people,” she said. “I’m showing off my skills – I can rap and sing melodies and make commercial music and write indie songs and do all kinds of different things. So you’re getting a lot of my talents all on one project. So essentially it’s an introduction to me, and me bragging in a way.”

Although Zoe has had a bit of a slow start to her recording career, she hasn’t looked back or taken her foot off the pedal. She’s worked relentlessly to release singles and music videos, and she embraces the fast-paced and demanding lifestyle of a full-time musician. Over the past few years, she’s worked hard to create high-quality music that allows her to share her emotions with listeners while also providing them an outlet for their own emotions.

“I really want to inspire people with my music,” she said. “I’m writing about day-to-day life things – feelings and love and life and fun and just anything you can think of. That makes me relatable to just about everyone. And what I really want people to get from me is that they can be whatever they want to be. If you want to be a garbage man, you can be the best garbage man in the world. You don’t have to change yourself to be successful. A lot of my music is me coming to terms with myself and becoming comfortable with the skin I’m in. I want that message to be spread to everyone my music touches – to be just as confident. When I’m in the booth, I’m confident. And if I can take that energy and share it with others so that it becomes their energy, then I feel like I’ve done what I’ve been put on this earth to do.”

In many ways, Zoe Gawd is the whole package as an artist. She’s a writer, a producer, a singer, a rapper, and a fashion influencer whose lifestyle is one that is inspiring many followers.

Three of Zoe’s singles from the forthcoming album are already available for listeners to check out. “Safe” is a fun song full of motivation that inspires people to get up and get out there to chase their dreams. She calls it her “go-getter song.” There’s also “No Favors” which is more melody-based than “Safe” and offers listeners the challenge to focus on themselves and avoid doing favors for those who aren’t appreciative of the kindness. And finally, Zoe has “Hoodie Rockin,” which is a straight freestyle rap with a slight hook that shows off her ability to go crazy on a beat.
