New York Rapper rides wave of success with release of new album ‘To Be Continued’

BROOKLYN, NY – Snappy is an African American Rap artist who specializes in many different genres of music. Over the course of his career, he’s racked up thousands of followers and his songs have hundreds of thousands of plays over just the past few years. He’s become known for hit singles like “Eviction Notice,” Traumatized” and “Drip with Me.” And he’s caught the attention of many other industry insiders, leading to some great collaborations with artists such as Kooda B., TDot RagedyTay MeezSpazz Dos, Won Foa and more.

Today, he’s continuing his string of successful releases with his latest album “To Be Continued.” It features 12 songs that are meant to get audiences activated and energized. The first track from the project is “Steppin’,” which is an upbeat club banger that serves as a kind of anthem for people who have a job to do.

“It’s about putting your all in,” Snappy said. “Either you’re all in or you’re not gonna get where you want to be. You can’t be no halfway steppin’.”

Snappy said the single is a great intro into the rest of the album and serves to showcase his unique sound and style – a signature that emphasizes real lyrics set against a heavy beat that makes you want to get up and jump around.

Another single from the project shows a different side of Snappy. “Let Up” is a more chill, laid-back vibe that gently applies pressure on the listener as it lets people have an inside peek on Snappy’s mindset as he pursues his dreams. He’s basically telling the world that he’s never gonna stop but in a way that’s quietly aggressive and fills the listeners with a sense of confidence.

Snappy said his dream for as long as he can remember has been to be a bona fide Rap artist. Many people didn’t take him seriously when he was younger, and it wasn’t until 2016 that his career started to really take off. He credits his Uncle Spazz for being someone who pushed him to take music more seriously, constantly bringing him to the studio and pushing him to record new sounds and flows. In the years since, he’s been perfecting his sound and honing his craft, and it paid off in 2020 when he was featured on Rap Aechelon Magazine as a hand-picked dope artist.

“I want my music to be like a fever,” he said. “Or to make you relax. Or to fit any mood you’re in. If you’re having a bad day and you listen to my music, it’ll ease your mood or lift you up or get you hyped. You can’t be knocked down when you’re listening to my music.”

Snappy said he has plenty of music lined up to be released this year, and encourages fans to be on the lookout for two more singles over the next month called “Peter Pan” and “Elegant.”

“On a Hip Hop beat, you would expect someone to rap, but sometimes I might switch it up and put vocals into it,” he said. “I’m not trying to be like everybody else. My style is a little different and I want my signature style to stand out. I want my music to let people know that anything is possible. I’m 16 and I’m achieving my dreams, and I want to spark other people to go out and do the same thing as me. I doubted myself before I started making music, but now I’m pushing myself and investing in my dreams, and I want to encourage other people to do that, too. Along the way, I’ll make music that makes you feel good.”

The debut single from the new album is a song called “Straight Up” which Cooloquan said is Hip Hop at its purest. Lyrical and full of hype energy, the song is his announcement to the world that he’s a legitimate artist who is here to stay. He’s riding a wave of success and as such, he feels like a GOAT, and he’s trying to tell everybody that he’s the next artist up.

“No more games,” he said. “This is the real deal. I’ve been making music for the past two years and from when I first started, so now is a big progression. A lot of people have been waiting on this, and this is a real big drop for me. I want to come on the world with some sneaky stuff and give people a sound that’s an unexpected surprise when they hear me.”

$Mr. Face$ – I’m Alive

Blog, Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Promo

Underground Hip Hop legend $Mr. Face$ revives career with new hit single ‘I’m Alive’

PONTIAC, MI – David Nolan Laws – AKA $Mr. Face$ – is an artist who creates and performs from the heart. He draws inspiration from current and world events and reflects on his personal life experiences. This is perhaps best displayed on his newest hit single, “I’m Alive,” which is currently available across all streaming platforms.

A song that talks about persevering and overcoming the state of the world in which we’re living, “I’m Alive” is a melodic Hip Hop anthem for all the people who are trying to overcome difficult situations. With a sound that is indicative of today’s Hip Hop persuasions while also emphasizing his signature style, $Mr. Face$’s single is the perfect kind of introduction to a larger global audience.

“It’s about the adversity we face going through life,” he said. “It’s about dealing with losses and still surviving and maintaining. I think my sound is unique because it tells my story. Everybody has their own story, and mine comes through my personality which is portrayed through my music. There’s only one me and my style is who I am.”

The Hip Hop culture, lifestyle and allure caught the attention of $Mr. Face$ at an early age. He penned his first rhyme at the age of 12, and after going through the many trends, styles and stage names, he finally found himself and his lane as an artist. David has an older brother who moved to Southern California in the mid 1980s who came home to visit and got a chance to hear David rap. He liked what he had heard and told David that when he returned to L.A. he would assume the title as his manager and seek out a record deal. Upon his return to L.A., he met Dr. Dre and stayed true to his word, telling Dr. Dre about David. He then gave David a call and told David he should get there ASAP! Money was tight at the time and David didn’t make it out to L.A. until a year later. After finally making it out to California and hanging out and kicking it with big brother for a few days, he got a call about a block party that was going down in L.A. They attended the party and David met Dre, who gave David’s brother the number and address to his studio. For the next three days they caught the bus to the studio, where they met Snoop Dogg on his way up for a session. They kicked it with Snoop for a minute and David gave him his demo. Nothing ever happened with that, but by chance something did happen on David’s trip to L.A. While playing basketball at a gym, an older man approached David and started a conversation about the music industry. He gave all the info David needed and told him how to start a record label. David than returned home and hit the streets, releasing three projects: “My Shadow,” “Never Forget Skrewface for 96,” and “Farewell Makaveli” – all of which are considered underground classics. David’s music took a back seat to his family and responsibilities after that, and now 20 years later he’s ready to revive what he started when he was younger.

“I’m more mature now and I think people who knew my music from back then will hear the growth and the maturity in my music today,” he said. “Ultimately, I want my music to be known for being uplifting – for empowering and helping people to have perseverance. I also hope my music brings unification and building together so that we can all stand for something.”

$Mr. Face$ said he owes a lot to his collaborators on his new music – Mr. Bubb Webb of Beat Mob Studios and Steve Coleman of Center Stage Productions. Releasing his music under his independent label Full Plate Entertainment, $Mr. Face$ said he plans to drop a full album later this year titled “$Mr. Face$, AKA David Nolan the Great: The John Wick Edition.”

Dior Carter – Problem

Blog, Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Promo

American rapper and singer Dior Carter launches two new singles to kick off the New Year

OAKLAND, CA – Andre Showers – known professionally as Dior Carter – is an American entertainer, rapper and singer from Oakland, California, whose new music is drawing attention from fans all over the U.S. Known for his exciting and energetic chill vibe and swag on the beat, along with his love of making entertaining music, Dior is a name that people need to pay attention to. He is President and Artist at RNS ENTERTAINMENT, LLC

His new singles “Problem” and “Nights Like This” are perfect examples of the kind of original music this fast-rising artist makes.

The aggressive tone takes a front seat against a hard-driving beat for a song that’s sure to get people hyped up. It’s quite a different vibe from “Nights Like This” which is way more chill and laid back. It’s a song about smoking some weed and having a food night out on the town.

“I’m vibing on a good night,” he said. “We’re going to side shows in Oakland and enjoying nights like this. It’s about the kind of nights that are so surreal you remember them forever. It’s just another vibe I have. I got so many styles and so many songs, I can really go any direction.”

Dior said he’s been doing music since he was about 8 or 9, and recorded his first two albums at the age of 13. He studied a lot of musicians throughout his teenage years, especially while riding the bus everyday to and from school. He said his favorites were Jay Z, Notorious B.I.G.,

Lil Wayne,  juvenile, DMX, Eminem, Ice Cube, Lauryn Hill, Dr.Dreand Busta Rhymes. To this day, some of their influences can be found in his music. But at the end of the day, his sound and style is unique and unlike anything else out there in the market.

“I want my music to be known for provoking the minds of others,” he said. “I’m all about grabbing other people and putting them into a mindset that I had when I wrote the song. But I want to do that in a positive way. I could rap about social justice or cultural change or just having a good time – whatever it is, I want to lift people up.”

Both of Dior’s singles are currently available across all streaming platforms. He said he plans on following them up with more singles later this year. He also has an album called “Can’t Stop Me” which was released in October 2020 that is making waves. Another album will be released in April entitled “Age of Aquarius”. Watch out for it.

Chazo – Can’t Help It

Blog, Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Promo

New album caps off year-plus of success for East Coast Hip Hop superstar Chazo

HARLEM, NY – If you’ve been following the life and career of East Coast artist Chazo over the past year, you’ll know that he’s been riding wave after wave of success with his steady releases of music. What started as a single titled “Good Food, Good Women, Good Vibes” expanded to an EP and now is a full-fledged album that was released on Dec. 7. It features new songs while still offering the same vibe as before and showcasing the talent of this fast-rising, soon-to-be international artist.

The two new singles featured on the album are “Can’t Help it” and “Little Little 2.” Chazo said the first is a good vibe song that will be perfect for lovers celebrating Valentine’s Day next month. “Little Little 2,” however, is a perspective-shifting track that will challenge anyone who listens to it to consider a different point of view when it comes to the social and cultural upheaval happening in recent months.

“With all the protests going on around the country, this is a good song for people to listen to,” he said. “It’s less of an anthem and more of a motivational song to help you through tough stuff. In the face of all the protests, this is a song that will give people a different perspective and feel upbeat, while also talk about my life and things I’ve been through in ways that people can relate to.”

That upbeat vibe is something that Chazo said he’s intentionally trying to bring to the table with the new album. He said the holiday season influenced his shift in energy and has lent the album a more positive vibe than the previous EP. He also said it’s the culmination of a year-plus ride he’s been on with the ever-expanding project, and that he has big plans, business-wise, going into 2021 and beyond.

“I’ve been on social media a lot over the past year and people have been getting a lot of good peeks at my life,” he said. “In 2021 I want to keep it more in-house and not give away too much of what I have planned. Only the true insiders will get to see what I’m doing, and I’ve got big plans in mind.”

Nialand – WASTQT

Blog, Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Promo

Nialand gives us the ultimate pandemic playlist with new audiovisual EP, “Words and Sounds To Quarantine To”

CHICAGO, IL -Nialand is a singer-songwriter, and international recording artist with a collection of experiences and a true talent for lyricism and music. Her latest project, an audiovisual EP entitled, “Words and Sounds To Quarantine To”, is an emotional and relatable project that showcases her own experience both personally and as a musician maintaining sanity in the wake of the COVID-19 Pandemic. The deeply soulful and smooth hip hop sounds, wrapped in vulnerable lyrics are only enhanced by the visual experience displayed through a short-film like music video which Nialand directed and starred in herself. This visual component gives life to the lyrics and resonates with viewers and listeners from all backgrounds in a very unique and refreshing way.

Nialand has been making music for much of her life. “I have been in the music business for about 16 years now. I’ve been fully independent the entire time but I’ve been able to do a lot of things in the industry. When I first started in the music business, I was doing features and collaborations with lots of artists.” Throughout the years, she has been able to work with a collection of big name artists including MC Lyte, Chico DeBarge, Roy Ayers, Lupe Fiasco, and Kanye West and more. She has also performed both nationally and internationally at venues such as the House of Blues, Gibson Amphitheater, Fox Theater, and several music venues and events in Europe as a featured artist on the “Moments for Love UK Soul Tour 2016”

The experiences that Nialand has had over the course of her career has allowed her to embrace her own style and freely express her music with unique distinction. Her music is a blend of Hip Hop, Soul and Jazz with a specific focus on her lyrical delivery. “I’m a very lyrical person. I love to write and songwriting is my first love. I choose to write my experiences and share them. I’ve found that me being open and honest about the things that I have seen and experienced, allows my music to connect to so many other people’s stories.” Her lyricism creates a relatable feel within her music that is hard to replicate.

“Words and Sounds to Quarantine To” is a perfect example of the connection that Nialand’s music offers to listeners. The EP focuses on the adjustments that she had to make in her life and her career as a musician during such unprecedented times. “I couldn’t really see what was next and I didn’t know what was happening. I had a lot of emotions and feelings and thoughts that I believe that we all have had at some point during this time. Having to deal with those things personally led me to writing my feelings out in song. There wasn’t anywhere that I could go, there was nothing that I could do except be present with my feelings, so I would just sit and write.” Once I embraced those feelings, the words and songs flowed out in only a few days, and from there, I created and shot the visuals to go with it. The visuals that go along with this EP were all directed by Nialand. They give a powerful visual interpretation to the words and feelings expressed in the music. “It’s something you have to experience. It shows me being in this space of quarantine and what I did in this place of isolation. You see me on lockdown, (as we all are), in my own space just having to sit and just be. You will see me express different moments of frustration, boredom, and contemplation about everything that’s happening and having to process those thoughts and come to a resolve.” Nialand had to endure the challenge of shooting this visual in the midst of a pandemic, but by throwing herself into her creativity, she was able to find a way to strategically and intentionally build a quarantine set out of a small, empty art gallery which resulted in a stunning visual presentation.

Through this audiovisual EP, Nialand hopes to normalize the process of feeling, especially as we experience such a strange and uncomfortable time. “If nothing else, the year 2020 has taught us that there are some things that are just completely out of our control and full of uncertainty. You have to allow yourself to be aware of what you’re feeling and how you’re processing those feelings and not just jump to try to solve things because, in reality, there are some things you won’t be able to solve, and that’s ok. You just have to endure and have the right perspective”

At the end of 2020, Nialand released a single and part one of the full visual. “WASTQT”, the title track of the EP (abbreviated), is an emotional and honest song with a chill, soulful/hip hop groove. Nialand gets extremely vulnerable on camera with this visual and leaves you fully anticipating what will happen next. It is easy to vibe to and is a great example of her beautiful sound and strong lyricism.

Be sure to check out the single and visual for “WASTQT” and look for Nialand on social media. Keep an eye out for the full release of “Words and Sounds To Quarantine To” which is dropping in late Spring 2021.

Compton R.E.G. – “No No”

Blog, Industry Spotlight, Music, Promo

Hip Hop legend-in-the-making prepares for debut single with feature from Snoop Dogg

COMPTON, CA – Compton R.E.G. is one of the best kept secrets of West Coast Hip Hop. Coming straight out of Compton with some of the biggest names in Rap, R.E.G. has been spitting some real hit for years. But a stint in prison took him off the map while others from his hometown made names for themselves – artists such as Kendrick Lamar, YG, N.W.A., and Compton AV.

Trying to make up for lost time, R.E.G. has dropped the new single “No No” produced by Rob Tand the follow up single is Feel On Your Booty FT Snoop Dogg. Both are ready-made international hits.

“It’s never a dull moment when you hear an R.E.G. verse,” he said. “It’s gonna stand the test of time. I want my music to be timeless. I don’t piggyback off anyone. I try to make my own genre, and my sound is so original that most of the time when someone hears me, they don’t think it’s me. I find myself having to spit a verse for them and then they’ll recognize it’s me. At the end of the day, I’m a working man and I just try to make my own thing. I might get inspired by certain music but I won’t try to make something that sounds like that song. I make something that’s original.”

The streets never have to hunt very far for the next scorching R.E.G. verse as he has been heard spitting alongside heavyweights that include Chaka Khan, Snoop Dogg, The Dogg Pound, Biggie, AkonKelis, Nate DoggNipsey HussleKokane, The EastsidazKam and Jayo Felony, to name a few. He has also penned some hot tunes for other artists in the business.

In addition to his new single, R.E.G. has also recently partnered with EKJ Ent which forms EKj Ent/Gorilla Hustle. Through that label, he has invested in “Feel On Your Booty” to enlist both hard-hitting producer Jelly Roll and the legendary Snoop Dogg, whose bars will be featured on the second verse. His extensive resume definitely has earned him a title as a Rap veteran in all definitions of the word, and his undeniable charisma makes him one of Rap’s most distinctive personalities. If you don’t know about him yet, now is the time to add him to your playlists because Compton R.E.G. will be a global phenomenon before the year is out.

EDaGod – Wave In Time

Blog, Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Promo

Da God aims to inspire with new album ‘A Wave In Time’

PHOENIX, AZ – Eric Chapel is on a mission to influence other people to be better versions of them. That’s his message in both life and art, and it comes to the forefront on his new album “A Wave In Time,” now available across all streaming platforms.

With 16 songs, Chapel – better known by his stage name E Da God – gives fans a little bit of everything as he weaves inspirational stories from his life into encouraging messages to others.

“Regardless of what I do, I try to send out the best information that I have without trying to hurt anybody,” he said of his album. “My uncle used to say that some people are just trying to get by and some people are just trying to get over. You’ve gotta maintain or obtain by any means necessary. Whatever you force upon the world, you gotta deal with that. I’m gonna see how I can do it by being more passive and peaceful and by influencing people to be better versions of themselves every day.”

E Da God said he dips into sounds very organically when it comes to songwriting, picking and choosing melodies or beats that “authentically and naturally work for me.” Whatever sounds good when it’s time to record something, that’s what he’ll flow with. He calls it his “open book” approach – an approach that he said brings the highest quality sound and style to the table.

“I think what sets me apart is the same thing that makes me different in life, and that’s that I’m just so different,” he said. “I’ve got to introduce that through the music. The way things go through my mind – the wave that comes with the beat is the way for me to relate with people. And through that, over time, I’ve learned how to play with sounds and different styles to express different moments in my life to help me share with other people and get them to see past how different I am. It’s a wave – sometimes you’ll get a little wave or a little vibe, and sometimes you’ll get a bigger wage. Some songs are like this and some songs are like that, and across the whole album you get the consumption of me creating a whole unique sound, which is a great representation of who I am.”

E Da God said now is the perfect time to bring his album to the world as it fits his life journey perfectly. As a rapper and songwriter, he’s just started making a name for himself in the industry, and this year, he took that career a step further by starting his own record label – Thorough By Nature. He said he’s looking forward to the adventure of being a business owner and exploring the behind-the-scenes side of the music industry while also promoting his music and sharing it with a global audience.

“It’s an ascending moment for me to grow,” he said. “I’ve been through enough and done enough and now that journey is coming out with song after song. This album captures this moment in my life, and it’s got a little bit of everything on there.”

Raainbandzup – Out My Body

Blog, ME Blog, Music, Promo

Raainbandzup uses raw emotion to power new songs filled with hope

HAYWARD, CA – From the opening notes of Raainbandzup’s music, you can tell that she’s had a rough life. The raw emotion in her voice paired with transparent lyrics that dive deep into her pain immediately evoke a wave of feeling from anyone who listens. And yet the upbeat nature of her instrumentals and the powerful energy that she brings make those heartfelt songs something that could be heard in any club around the world.

Her debut single, “Out My Body,” is a perfect example of that paradox of sound and style. The high energy dance song is born from Raain’s desire to escape from the pain of her life. It’s a club song that welcomes anyone who listens to join her in just having a good time and escaping from the hardships of life for a while.

“I grew up in an abusive home and have had a very hard life,” she said. “We had locks on the refrigerator and my mom was an alcoholic. I remember crazy things like when she threw me in hot water or when she poured ammonia all over me. I was always starving and dirty and I never really had a birthday or Christmas. I’ve never seen a baby picture of me ever in my life. None of my extended family ever acknowledged me, either. I’m in this universe alone – just me and my four kids – and only I get to decide who is in my path of life. I make all different types of music that comes from that. I do R&B or Dance or any type of music there is, and all of it shows that I walk my own path of life.”

Raain said she started doing music at age 11 as a way to escape the various abuses she was facing at the time. She said artists like Nikki Minaj, Beyonce and T.I. gave her inspiration and made her first start exploring various forms of artistic expression.

“It was how I carried all the abuse I had in my household away from me,” she said. “I would get away from the fighting and the sexual abuse and the black eyes and the broken arms and just let the music take me away from it all. I found out pretty quickly that I could hum something and come up with a whole song pretty easily. Once I figured that out, I’ve been doing it ever since.”

Along the way, Raain has also explored other forms of entertainment. She studied for a time at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco with the intention of becoming an actor. She learned through that experience that music was her true love, however, and she hasn’t looked back since.
