Red Giant Project – Betta Man Feat. Tre Aces

Industry Spotlight, Music, Promo

Living legends combine master-level skills for truly original album ‘Red Giant Project’

SAN DIEGO, CA – The ultimate collaboration of musicians who are masters at their craft comes together with an deeper progressive new sound on a new LP called “Red Giant Project.” Spearheaded by Matthew Burke AKA Burkey and sound-designed by Matt Madonna, the project features an array of living legend instrumentalists in Karl Denson, Tah Rei, John Avery, Shane Hall, Tre Aces, and Lynx DeMuth. The juxtaposition of vocalists Burkey and Hall, who also plays guitar on some tracks, combines for a human element that weaves tastefully through the music in ways that never distract from the full scope of the production.

“Beauty is the intention,” Burkey said. “This project could be called R&B and Blues pumped up on bass music. Or it could just as easily be labeled as Americana, or Neo-Soul Trap, or even Lofi-Trip-Hop-Downtempo. It’s ambient poetry with strong hooks and vocal synths that dance through gritty, analog sound. And it’s done by all of these people who are masters of their craft, and then blended together by Matt. It’s something really incredible.”

Madonna and Burkey met some years back while touring with different EDM projects. Madonna was with Love & Light while Burkey spent about a decade with Vokab Kompany. The two would often bump into each other at festivals or on the tour circuit, and sometimes they’d bounce ideas off each other or even play around with different sounds or write songs together. Both of them were doing songs that were high-energy, club-based EDM music upwards of 120 beats per minute and higher. So their collaborations backstage tended to be slower and more ambient, exploring different ways to incorporate the sounds they’d become familiar with into more downtempo and relaxed vibes. Madonna eventually retired ‘Love & Light’ while Burkey continued with Vokab Kompany, and the two of them kept in touch.

In 2016, Burkey had the opportunity to start working with Karl Denson who is a legendary sax player best known for his work with The Rolling Stones, KDTU, and Greyboy Allstars. He’s even featured with the band Sexual Chocolate in the iconic Eddie Murphy comedy “Coming to America.” When Madonna heard that Burkey was working with Denson, he sent them a beat he’d been working on at home, and Denson was so impressed that it sparked an idea from Burkey

“The whole process created a whole pure vibe,” Burkey said. “We’d all gotten older and didn’t fit that party scene anymore, and our songwriting had taken on a deeper aspect – from the chords to the sound design to the lyricism and everything in between. Matt had become the ultimate sound designer. He can spend days on end just making a sound, and he’ll create his own sounds. He’ll spend a 20-hour session searching for the best kick drum, manipulating 200 different kinds of drums until he’s found that best sound. So he was the perfect person to blend all of the things that these masters at their craft were bringing to the table.”

Burkey said the collaboration has been so overwhelmingly positive that the two friends have decided to pursue more projects in the future. He said they have the first record focusing more on a Neo-Soul, Jazz vibe with Blues guitar and swaggy Hip-Hopesque vocals. And like a Red Giant star that burns at its brightest in its later stages of life, the “Red Giant Project” showcases the bright burning talent of these veteran artists in a way that cannot and should not be ignored.

Adonis Alias SoupBone and M.E. NotApologetic – Sir Paul

Industry Spotlight, Music, Promo, Videos

Two West Coast artists join forces for creative new album ‘ApoSTGles

SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA – An impressive blend of Rap, Hip Hop, Jazzy Blues and R&B swag makes its way to the center stage on a new album from West Coast artists Adonis Alias SoupBone and M.E. NotApologetic. Set to release in December, “ApoSTGles” is the ultimate culmination of this super collaboration between two artists who have been making waves in the industry for years. Across six songs, the duo lets the world know that it’s OK to party, but there’s also real issues in life that have to be dealt with and sometimes you gotta step up. Each of them came up with concepts for three of the songs, then worked together seamlessly to create the final product – tapping deeply into each other’s talents and ideas.

“It’s two brothers coming together and showcasing our skills together,” Adonis said. “It’s us complementing each other’s talents and ideas. We’re talking about positives, not using any profanity and ultimately, it’s all about the music.”

The debut single from the project is “Sir Paul” and is slated to release across all streaming platforms on Oct. 16. It’s a song that pays tribute to one of the most influential musicians of all time: Paul McCartney. “Sir Paul” is presented with an eye-popping video filmed by acclaimed and award-winning director Jae Synth. Throughout the song, Adonis and M.E. incorporate lyrics and titles from McCartney’s most successful songs and albums, and ultimately use the icon as a metaphor for achieving one’s dreams.

“If there’s any chance Paul could hear this, I think he’d appreciate it more than anybody,” Adonis said. “There’s no other musician who has transcended the time period he has with quality music. That’s the key. I try to write timeless material, just like he did, and I don’t try to go with the current trend.”

The beat originally came to M.E. through a mutual acquaintance producer named No Shenanigans, who said she wrote the beat specifically for M.E.’s signature style. It’s a beat that M.E. calls a little bit gritty and hard-hitting. But when M.E. couldn’t come up with a lyrical idea that really stuck, he passed it along to his friend Adonis for help.

“I passed it along to my bro and he came up with this idea,” M.E. said. “That’s how we always work. We come up with creative ideas and then pass them back and forth to each other until we make something great. With this song, not only are we doing an homage for Paul, but at the same time it shows that you don’t have to stay the same musician throughout your entire career. He stepped away from the Beatles and did what he wanted to do, and he’s made a lot of great music.”

“Sir Paul” will be followed by “My Queen”, the scheduled second single slated to drop in November. With “My Queen,” the two musicians tap into their R&B side with a song made for the ladies. Adonis said it’s an “encouragement song that’s uplifting for women and encourages men to support their women.” A music video is in the works and should release on Nov. 10.

“Party All Night” is the third release and it is a definitive club song with a hard, heavy, Hip Hop and Rap feel that showcases the duo’s ability to flow.

The Whole Sick Croo – Play Along

ME Blog, Music, Promo

New music from The Whole Sick Croo reflects hot political themes

WASHINGTON D.C. – DC area rocker, Phil Dubitsky delivers poignant political music which addresses present day concerns. His Hard Rock/Punk Rock fusion has a bit of rootsy Americana and Blues mixed with Heavy Metal aggression.

His latest single, “Play Along” discusses different sides which participate and vote in a democratic society. Voting is not difficult to do, but the artist is critical of the options. Released in late September, the song is topical for what is going on right now. “Play Along,” the latest in a series of politically based releases, was written last year in anticipation of the current election cycle.

“Play Along” features distinct slide guitar, bass riffs and bluesy scales, in contrast to Phil’s upcoming single, “Majority Rules,” a more straightforward rock track which tells how democracy results in the majority enforcing their idea of right and wrong onto the minority. The new single is due to be released on October 20.

While creating awareness of issues, Phil tries not to be super preachy when putting his opinion out there for people. “While not all of my music is political, the singles I have put out in the back half of this year are fairly political. I use my music more as a way of getting the conversation started about socio political issues than specifically trying to tell people what to think or feel,” Phil stated. “By getting people to talk about or even just think about those issues, you start to open the door for those issues to be addressed and potentially fixed.”

Currently releasing music under the name “The Whole Sick Croo,” Phil is working solo now. He does it all – from writing lyrics and melodies, to recording his instrumentation and vocals in a home studio. He also mixes and masters his own music. Phil has created an intelligent, more self sufficient way of working, allowing him to concentrate on producing and releasing music.

Putting out lyrics that are right on the nose, Phil’s messages are straightforward and easy to understand. “For me personally, being more direct with your messaging means more people will realize what you’re saying.” Eager to encourage dialog, Phil Dubitsky is an artist who is not afraid to share his opinions.

BiNG – Party

Album, Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Promo

Texas rapper BiNG drops new album ‘At It Again’

HOUSTON, TX – Joseph Guillory, AKA BiNG, is an artist with a truly original sound. Unlike anything else out there in the world of Hip Hop, his use of distorted instrumentals paired with rhythmic flows creates an intriguing sound that is causing new listers all over the South to sit up and pay attention. And now with his new album “At It Again,” this Texas-based musician is offering a compilation of his works in an effort to share that one-of-a-kind sound with a wider global audience.

Featuring all of his best music to date with a couple of radio-ready tracks, “At It Again” shows off BiNG’s ability to turn a phrase and have fun with witty wordplay. His style is in-your-face and aggressive with a sound to match, but at the end of the day, it doesn’t come across as offensive or off-putting. Quite the contrary, really, as this Down South boy is really just a normal guy on the microphone sharing stories of his life in as creative of a way as he can.

“I use more of a futuristic tone to my music,” he said. ‘Sometimes it’s too far in the future for people to like. It’s a very progressive sound but at the end of the day, what I go for is something that sounds good. I’m gonna rap about a lot of different things – depression or being a player or just everyday things that happen in life. But ultimately, I’m trying to do something that sounds good and is enjoyable to people.”

BiNG first started writing music in the 90s and spent much of that decade developing his unique sound and style. He was inspired by the legendary crew Public Enemy, and has always been enamored by the hype energy of Flava Flave. He also studied greats like Tupac and Biggie, and found his own brand of swag by trying to emulate the swag of Biggie Smalls. One of the singles on his new album, “Raise Up,” is an homage to Biggie and even samples some of his style at certain points throughout the song.

“I came up dreaming of being a one-hit wonder, and there is power in that when you own the rights,” BiNG said. “I’m 41 now and I’ve decided to take my music more public because I’m getting ‘Do it’ and ‘Oh, it’s good comments from Rap lovers who hear my stuff. I’m in it for the pussy and the money. I have a love for black women. I’m a mad man who started out in a mad clan after solo writings, and I’m a one-man clan now. I’m loud and in your face and flipping and have more wordplay than you know what to do with.

Kunal – Angelic & Devilish

Blog, Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Promo

LA-based Hip Hop artist Kunal offers eclectic variety of sounds with new singles ‘Angelic & Devilish’ and ‘Feeling Good’

LOS ANGELES, CA- Hip Hop artist KUNAL is a burgeoning force on the horizon. He is a product of global influences. Spending his childhood in New York, New Jersey and London – and paired with his Punjabi heritage – there is no succinct way to describe his craftsmanship. If you ask him, his sound is influenced by waking up to the melodies of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and Bob Marley, while also discovering artists such as Eminem and Kanye West who spoke to other parts of his soul. He has a wide-ranging sound that is centered on rhythm and lyricism. KUNAL’s sound exudes a uniqueness that is characterized by uninhibited creativity reflective of his human experience.

That signature style is put on full display with his debut single “Angelic & Devilish” and furthered by his second release Feelin’ Good.” Both are currently available across all streaming platforms. KUNAL has always been passionate about music – playing saxophone as a child, singing in choir, and writing poetry for as long as he can remember. The Coronavirus pandemic afforded him both the spare time and the alone time in his LA apartment to come back to the passions that had been on hold for so long. The years-long journey-in-the-making has been so profound that it has changed his career aspirations. KUNAL is already working on another two singles that he hopes to drop later this year as well as a full EP set for early 2021.

“When I moved to LA five years ago, I had no idea I was going to make music,” KUNAL said. “I was open to many different possibilities and I knew that I loved entertaining – from music and film to all kinds of artistic expression. But I was open to whatever LA was going to provide me. The pandemic has created an opportunity to put time and attention to music, and these singles have been a primer for more of what’s to come.”

Fans have described “Angelic & Devilish” as something reminiscent of a Nas-meets-Travis Scott vibe, highlighting that KUNAL’s sound cannot be put into a box or category that has ever been heard before. The sound appeals to fans of all ages because of the eclectic 90’s Hip Hop feel, he said, combined with upbeat and fun melodies from current decades of music. His cadence and flow compliment the introspective lyrics with which many Rap legends would be associated. He lays the joys and pains of his past on the line to examine the polarity of life which is a huge reason why so many people have already found his music so relatable, he said.

“We’re all both angelic and devilish in some way,” he said. “For me, it was a song that was very reflective personally, and as such, it was a really fun song for me to work on.”

With Feelin’ Good,” KUNAL brings in a modern effect that calls attention to yet another aspect of his personality. The fun upbeat pace is fitting for a night out but is also perfectly suited to kicking back with friends. It’s an anthem for anyone who fully embraces who they are despite what others think or say about them.

“In the chorus I said, ‘I’m pouring out a drink, sending love to all the different places that played a role in who I am and shaped who I am,’” KUNAL said. “Then it goes on to say that I don’t care if you don’t understand me or I don’t fit into your box. I’m feeling good and I’m doing good and I’m OK with who I am, and so here’s a couple of nuggets of who I am and some of the things I care about. It was fun finding the sound and style for this song because the production was completely different than anything else I’d ever done, but it was still me. It gave me a chance to explore a different side of me and explore my range, and I think people will have fun with it, too.”

KUNAL said he’s looking forward to speaking for it and fans getting to know him through that sound. To listen to KUNAL’s music or to follow him on social media, please visit:

Onna Deshae – Rush

Onna Deshae drops powerful new EP with message of encouragement for women all over the world

CHICAGO, IL – For many people around the world, the pearl is a symbol of perfection. It’s the ultimate example of beauty, but it’s also the ultimate example of how time and pressure can shape a person into exactly who they were meant to be.

That’s the sentiment Chicago-based artist Onna Deshae captures on her new EP “Intro to the Pearl Bible.” Currently available across all streaming platforms, the eight-song project features a variety of sounds and styles that explore her spiritual journey through life, with ups and downs that have helped to mold and shape her into the self-confident and powerful young woman that she is today.

“A bible is another guide through life and this project is an intro into that guide,” Onna said. “It’s a series of stories or things I’ve gone through that have led me to want to go on that journey of finding my most perfect self. There are songs about relationships – both romantic and with family and friends – and songs about our political environment, and just basically things that we go through in our everyday lives. It’s songs that would represent what it might be like if you were to walk through your history and remember what you’ve been through. When you do that, you realize the best way to move forward is to step into a new life.”

At only 24-years-old, Onna is making quite a statement with this project. But she’s no stranger to the music industry. She’s been a singer/songwriter for more than a decade with success on a national scale. She credits her grandmother, Jacqueline Oneal, for being the person to push her and encourage her through the years. She said her grandmother always encouraged her to write in her diary and eventually, to turn those things in her journal into songs and pursue music as a career.

“She’s like my heart,” Onna said. “She always encouraged me and took me to different talent shows when I was younger. She always kept me grounded and always encouraged me to write my feelings down. This project is just that.”

The EP starts off with “Rush” which is an immediate entryway into Onna’s life and how she feels about men, relationships, and her confidence. It’s a fun and playful song that many other women around the world will connect with as she explores her insecurities and how she’ll always walk through her anxieties with power.

That’s followed by “Harvest Season” which examines the emotional state that sometimes leads people to make bad decisions when dating. Then comes “Girl, Viral” which is a song about Onna’s view on social media in today’s world and how it affects relationships and personal standards, often challenging the belief systems of many people who overuse it. This song features fellow rapper O.G. Casey.

Also collaborating on the project was an artist known as Riodezonero who was featured on and engineered, the fourth song “Social Distance.” It’s a song about isolation and how the pandemic has forced a lot of people around the world to change their thoughts and learn to be ok with being alone.

Actin Bad” is the fifth song on the EP and is Onna’s heartbreak song. It talks about the love that a person receives and how some people use that as a weapon against others. She said the song was inspired during a time when she was in a dark space and was causing self-harm to her spirit. OG Casey also worked with her on this song to craft the lyrics.

Coming out of that song is an anthem for women in the form of “Pum Pum.” Onna said the song embodies the power of the lady and the lady parts, and is about being firm in decisions when it comes to protecting “your temple” – the body and mind. She said “Pum Pum” will be an anthem for women all over the world to take power in their sexuality and their choices.

The last two songs on the project are “Options” and “Warm.” The first features another producer named VerySpecialEd, who helped Onna craft lyrics that capture her feelings about making choices that protect her from the self-doubt that can often creep in. And “Warm” finishes the project with a song that she said is “the epitome of the Pearl Bible for me.”

“It’s a strong, poetic description of what I know love to be after the storm of stories I share on this project,” she said. “Love is warmth and protection, even on the coldest of days. I want a man who can keep me warm and protected in all aspects of my life. ‘Warm’ was a very poetic experience for me and my favorite song from the project.”

Onna said that “The Intro to the Pearl Bible” is just the first of a series of projects exploring the Pearl Bible. The follow-up, “Journals of the Pearl Bible,” will come in 2021. Onna also said there is currently a 45-day dance contest associated with her single “Rush” with winners set to be announced on Nov. 21. The challenge is to come up with unique choreography that fans can post to their social media with the hashtag #rushdancechallenge and @onnadeshae. Winners will receive a $200 cash prize, and the runner-up will receive a $100 cash prize. Winners will also have the chance to be featured in one of Onna’s future music videos.

J3 The Rap Vigilante – Who Want It

J3 The Rap Vigilante displays diversity across seven tracks on new EP ‘Nocturnal II

ATLANTA, GA – When it comes to bringing variety to today’s music scene, Hip Hop artist J3 The Rap Vigilante is like a chameleon. He’s got conscious Rap, real, mellow, aggressive, and everything in between. In other words, he can’t be put in a box. But more than that, his unique sound and style brings out the best in people and provides a thrill ride that cannot be beat.

This originality and energy is put on full display with his latest EP “Nocturnal II.” It’s the second half of an EP of the same name that he released about a year ago, and its seven tracks continue to explore the journey of this fast-rising young talent from the South.

“It’s picking up right where I left off,” J3 said. “It’s me taking control of what I want to do as far as music goes. Coming up in Atlanta, people can get used to a certain sound that’s popular, but I choose to stay in my lane and do my own thing. That’s what I want to be is true to myself. That said, you can hear the growth from the first EP now. I always go off the beat and I can fit in anywhere. So there are some aggressive songs, some mellow tracks, some soulful, some conscious, and a lot of different vibes. I feel like people should be able to relate to it.”

The debut single from the project is a song called “Who Want It. Working in collaboration with his brother, fellow artist Point Oh, J3 brings about an aggressive in-your-face track that shows why he goes by the name Rap Vigilante.

“Sometimes you gotta let people know,” he said. “That’s what this song is about. I’m the Rap Vigilante because I’m not gonna try to fit in and do things for other people. I’m gonna do it for myself. I make music for people in the process of finding their own path. I found a path that was best for me and when I can reach people with that kind of mentality, then the sky’s the limit.”

“Nocturnal II” was produced by AveDaMafia and Point 0h with a feature from Since 9ty5. It is currently available across all streaming platforms.

Kelvin Rey – No La Veo

No La Veo’ leads the way on new EP from East Coast artist Kelvin Rey

SEAFORD, DE – The perfect blend of Pop and Island vibes come together with Kelvin Rey’s latest single “No La Veo.” With a distinct International flare, this upbeat and bouncy song shows off Rey’s Dominican heritage while tapping into his natural talent as a vocalist. His unique voice offers a gritty edge to the R&B scene to create a signature sound that is sure to make waves around the world for years to come.

No La Veo” is the first release off a seven-song EP called “Just Wanna Be Free,” which is currently available across all streaming platforms. Rey said the project was inspired from a recent vacation in California. After releasing his first EP “Suzanne” in 2018, he decided to make a trip to Los Angeles with a close friend. The experience was both therapeutic and inspirational, and he literally wrote the first song on his new EP while flying back home from that vacation.

“It’s a completely different sound than the first project,” he said. “I was super inspired by that trip and this project really captures those feelings of being with my best friend in California and having a good time and feeling free and falling in love with a stranger that you just met. It’s much more Pop than anything else, which is the direction I’m trying to go, but it’s still rooted in R&B and Soul.”

Known in the Northeast for his modeling, this budding young musician first started in the world of music while singing in the church choir as a young boy. Songwriting wasn’t too far behind because it became an avenue of expression for him. By 2018, that journey led to a full-fledged career in music, and with the successful release of “Suzanne,” everything seemed to be falling into place. Since that time, he’s been pushing his limits and further developing a sound that he calls Soulful R&B with edgy Pop hits.

“I have this R&B twist of Pop going on,” he said. “I feel like everyone is on this Hip Hop and Trap vibe, but I’m trying to be on a mission to bring Pop back, even though I know it never really goes away. What I mean is that I’m bringing that fresh sound in my own way. I don’t sound like anyone else. I’m in my own lane and I have my own thing going on. At the end of the day, I want to be inspirational. I want my music to do more for people than just give them good-sounding music. I put so much into my music and I work so hard for it, and I’d like to be known for that hard work and perfection as a serious artist.”

MIAMI, FL – Everybody wants to hit the lottery, and most guys in the world would say that when they find that perfect woman, it’s the equivalent of hitting the jackpot. That’s the sentiment perfectly captured by Miami-based artist SamoMillion on his latest hit single “Lotto.”

Currently streaming across all digital platforms, “Lotto” uses a little bit of Pop, a little bit of Hip Hop, a little bit of Afrobeat and a little bit of Caribbean to give listeners an upbeat and fun track with a gritty, urban vibe. It’s the perfect song to show off Samo’s signature delivery and cadence. His sound is unlike anything else out there right now, and his flow is off the charts excellent – so good that industry insiders all over the U.S. are calling attention to his original sound.

“My whole flow in general is a whole different wave,” Samo said. “When you press play on my music, you’re gonna be happy. No matter what your situation or what you’re thinking about, when you pop SamoMillion in, you’ll be happy and poppin. That’s what I want my music to be – something that gives people the motivation and the vibe to feel happy. If you’re feeling down today, you can hear my song and it’ll change your attitude.”

Born in the Little Haiti neighborhood of Florida, SamoMillion (pronounced Mil-ee-yon) had to grow up quick and become the man of the house after his father was deported back to his native country of Haiti when Samo was very young. He said he had the same struggles as most kids have when growing up in a low-income neighborhood, and music became a way for him to express the feelings that were often bottled up inside. He turned to inspiration from other artists with Haitian roots, such as Bob Marley, Wyclef Jean and Soulja Slim. As he studied and developed his sound more, he created a fusion of Soca, Reggae, Pop, Hip Hop and Afrobeats. Eventually, his hard work and natural talent landed him a partnership with independent label MotorMouthMusicGroup. Together, they’re releasing the single “Lotto,” with a music video for the song set to be released Oct. 1.

“When people hear it, they’ll assume it’s for somebody who won cash or a lot of money or a prize,” Samo said. “But it’s about a female who’s hard to come by. Finding a good female in this generation is hard. It’s like gambling. So I’m putting that into a song. When you find a good woman, this song will talk about how you’re supposed to treat her to keep her, because if you lose her, it could be a million years before you find another one.”

Samo also said he’s working on a bigger project that he hopes to release in early 2021, as well as a follow-up single to “Lotto’ called “Soul to Keep,” which will showcase a different side of his artistry.
