TaiZautie releases new songs for 2020 riding the wave of last year’s success

ATLANTA, GA – TaiZautie releases their new single, “NASCAR” featuring Lil Keed on January 20, 2020. This upbeat song produced by Kappa sends a fun message for 2020 living fast and enjoying life. TaiZautie was launched as a duo in 2017 with their first project, “Secure the Bag” and breakout single “Mr. Nice Guy.” NASCAR promises to continue the fun and is a head banger. NASCAR is available for download on iTunes. Follow TaiZautie at @TaiZautie.

NASCAR has the kind of driving sound that audiences will love and TaiZautie is excited to perform it. Music has always been a staple in the household of brothers Tai and Zautie. For as long as they can remember, there was always music at home – whether because of their grandmother who sang in the church choir, or because of their father who has performed as a recording artist. It made sense then that as they grew older, music also became a central part of their lives. But it wasn’t until Zautie visited his older brother in the recording studio one day that inspiration hit, and the trajectory of their music career would be firmly established.

“That was back in 2017 and I was just messing around in the studio and he (Zautie) hopped on the song and it turned out really good,” Tai said. “We went straight to work and it took us no time to finish our first project, ‘Secure the Bag.’ The first single from that project was ‘Mr. Nice Guy,’ and people have been going crazy for that song.”

In the two years since that moment, the brothers have been working hard to perfect their craft and to create an original sound and style that sets them apart from the rest of the world. Their process is organic – opting to freestyle in a recording studio until they find the right groove and perfect lyrics as opposed to writing everything before recording. The songs they create are pure emotion and musical expression. They’re not trying to copy anyone else but instead, just do what they feel.

“I might come in the studio and put a hook on the beat, and then he’ll come in and put something on the song and see how it comes out,” Zautie said. “Sometimes, we’re in there at the same time and we see how that comes out. There’s just a certain kind of vibe with us where we get more done and get things done faster than with anyone else. We know what each other want and we work well together.”

That hard work has paid off with new music set to come out over the next couple of months. The first is a new single called “Nascar” featuring Lil Keed. It’s a fast and upbeat song about living fast and enjoying life. The brothers said they know it has the kind of driving sound that audiences will love, and they’re excited for people all over the U.S. to hear it.

They’ll follow that with another single called “Budget” which features MakSauce. It, too, is upbeat and driving as it reflects on the trouble people can often find themselves in when they are spontaneous with their spending and don’t plan ahead with their money.

Jizzel Tha Gee – Booty Walk

Industry Spotlight, Music, Promo

Jizzel Tha Gee paints pictures with words
on second album ‘Jam City 2’

OAKLAND, CA – Jizzel Tha Gee is about to become a household name thanks to some cutting-edge music off his second album “Jam City 2.” Coming out of Oakland, California, this hot young artist is making a name for himself with his unique rhymes and his one-of-a-kind style. Known for his storytelling and upbeat jams that get people bouncing, his wordplay is the kind of elevated artistry that paints pictures in the mind of his listeners. This is showcased perfectly on his 12-track album “Jam City 2” which he describes as a “big party and a celebration of music from where I come from.”

“My writing and my style set me apart,” he said. “If you listen to my music, you can definitely get a sense that I don’t sound like anybody out there. My craft is my craft and I’ve been able to craft something that’s uniquely me. What I’m saying and what I’m doing, only I can do it.”

Jizzel said his first attempts at music were ultimately all about attracting as many women as possible. And while some of that is still true today, his work has evolved into more of an artistic expression that also entertains people along the way.

“It’s music that you can picture yourself within the rhymes,” he said. “I want my music to be something that everybody can relate to and do. That’s how I write my music – if you hear what I’m saying you’ll have a visual of it, like a video in your mind. I’m painting pictures for people. When I was younger, I didn’t realize what I was doing  but as I got older, people kept telling me they could see it because I’m paining visuals with my words. It’s a work of art.”

That realization started at a young age when he and his brother would record their songs at home on their boombox over the top of other tapes. His first song “Living in the Jungle” came about that way, and he hasn’t looked back since. He’s been rapping all his life, he said, and over the years has made a name for himself that he knows is about to expand to places all over the U.S. and throughout the world.

Not only does he have music to share with the world, but he’s also a young entrepreneur. His new shoe line called LAM shoes for his philosophy of Life And Money, are currently available for purchase on http://aliveshoes.com/

He is working on more music to release early this year, and he has a live performance slated for Feb. 15 at the Louise Cocktail Lounge in Sacramento.

Botimi Freed – Love Woes

Music, Promo, Videos

Passion and lyricism pair perfectly on new single
‘Love Woes’ from artist Botimi Freed

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD – When most people think about love songs, they don’t necessarily think about an electro-trap heart ballad. But that’s the exact sound that Hip Hop artist Botimi Freed has captured with his new single “Love Woes.” And it’s a sound that is drawing attention and high praise from big names all across the music industry.

Operating out of Montgomery County, Maryland, this up-and-coming young artist is a name you need to know. His new hit single is just the first of many to come. And in just two years of making music professionally, he has already seen his music go to great heights, including radio play on Baltimore’s biggest stations.

Born in Houston, Texas, Botimi moved to Maryland with his family at age 12 and has been an East Coast native ever since. Unlike many other artists in the industry, Botimi didn’t find his passion for music until his late teenage years. He started rapping at age 17 when his classmates heard him freestyle and praised him for being better than the rest. They encouraged him to give professional music a try. And when his first song recorded in 2016 took off with fans all over the area, he realized he had a natural talent that needed to be shared with the world. He’s worked on a few other songs since that time and now with “Love Woes,” he is ready to make a bigger splash in the industry and with a widening fanbase.

“It’s crazy to see how far I’ve come from just freestyling with my homies in the neighborhood,” he said. “I never thought that when I put those raps to some beats and started putting out tracks that people would love it as much as they have. I was just inspired by the greats and kind of fell into it. And like those legends, I’d like my music to be known for being melodic and timeless. I want people to be able to listen to my music now or 10 years from now and it will always be relevant and touch them in some way.”

In the case of “Love Woes,” Botimi said fans anywhere will be able to relate to the stories that came from personal experiences with some of his relationships from the past. He said the song basically examines three love affairs from his life in ways that anyone who has ever been in a relationship will be able to relate to.

“Each of the three verses talks about three chicks from my life,” he said. “The third verse is my real chick – my home chick. And the moral of the song is that love is not for sale. You can’t buy it. It’s a song that’s definitely inspired from real life and my experiences of being in different relationships in my life – the breakups and makeups and all the things that people learn over time that you have to fight for if you want something real and deep.”

Botimi said he’s working on an EP that will drop in January called “Player and a Savage.” That combined with the wave of success he’s seeing with “Love Woes” is something that he said he’s sure will propel him into an even greater 2020.

TYBenji – It Takes Time

Industry Spotlight, Music, Promo

New rapper out of Dallas brings eccentric, crazy vibe to Hip Hop with mixtape ‘Drip’

DALLAS, TX – TyBenji is a conquering artist from the Deep South whose unique sound and style is set to propel his life into fame and superstardom. His new single “It Takes Time” is a testament to the hard work he’s put in to get to this point in his career. It also serves as a statement to the world that he’s a new artist on the scene that people should pay attention to. It’s an aggressive song that perfectly showcases his unique lyrical ability and one-of-a-kind delivery as a rapper.

“It’s a song that says it took a minute to get to where I’m at,” said the young artist from Dallas, Texas. “I have a strong foundation now and though there have been some rough times along the way, everything else from here is gonna be smoother. The biggest thing I’ve had to overcome is just getting my foot in the door and finding the courage to do what I want to do. Now that I’ve got that foot in the door and I have a stronghold and a strong foundation to build upon, I’m not looking back.”

TyBenji has been a budding artist for as long as he can remember. From the time growing up in Dallas as young Tyrik, he was always attracted to music and by age 10 was already writing his own raps and freestyling with older boys in his neighborhood. By the time he was in high school, he was actively pursuing music as a career and had already adopted the stage name TyBenji as a combination of his first name and the slang term “Benji,” which is a moniker for money. He says his early work was representative of some of his biggest musical influences including Lil Wayne, Easy E, Snoop Dogg, James Brown and Chris Brown, among others. But over the years, he has developed a sound and style that is all his own and which he knows will stand out in ways that will eventually make him a household name all over the U.S.

“My sound is different,” he said. “I just sound like me. I think it’s a sound that shows off my personality and my vibe. I have an eccentric, weird, crazy vibe. My mixtape ‘Drip’ really shows off that eccentricity and craziness. It’s a project that shows people the adversity I’ve faced in life and how I’ve had to climb from the bottom. It shares those things through music that some people would call weird or crazy. But it’s straight rap that comes from me and is perfect to show people who I am as a musician.”

In addition to “Drip,” TyBenji said he’s working on another mixtape that he hopes to drop sometime in the next six months. He’s also planning to release a music video for “It Takes Time” and is excited to see how many regions across the U.S it can make a splash.

REME – Move

Industry Spotlight, Music, Promo

Houston rapper REME turning up the heat with new single, “Boom”

HOUSTON, TX – No matter what you do in life, there will always be folks who don’t take you seriously. REME is dishing up a soundtrack for everyone who’s not getting the respect they deserve with his new single, “Boom.” Tired of people not believing in what he is doing, and how he’s doing it, REME sought to take the heat to another level with this heavy hitting track. With its very aggressive and speedy style, “Boom” is meant to make a statement about how serious REME is about his craft.

While his previous single “Move” was more of a dark remnant, the new single has an uptown, space-the-chase vibe. REME’s lyricism is characterized by a rapid delivery of metaphors and a lot of phrasing. REME brought his aggression into the studio to make his point and to put out a hype song to get the fans going. The new single is slated to drop during the third week of November, and will be his first track published on all major digital platforms.

A serious and committed artist, REME writes from personal experience and what he has seen others go through. He also views what’s happening in society in a different light and puts that perspective into his art. His music speaks to those who have suffered from an unhealthy state of mind. “My music is for anybody who has been in that dark place,” REME stated.

While other rappers are content to rhyme about topics that aren’t positive, REME is conscious about directing his energy towards more fun and uplifting themes. He believes that “money, drugs and jewelry don’t make the artist” and works to have a beneficial impact. “If you’re gonna do all this, you have to give back or show a way where others can make their way. That’s what I plan to do.”

Born and raised in Houston, REME grew up listening to a diverse range of artists, including Outkast, Busta Rhymes, Snoop Dogg, Biggie Smalls, Gucci Mane, Missy Elliott and Kanye West. He has always been around people involved in music and others trying to get the experience. Being exposed to music for so much of his life lead REME to pursue his own music career.

An immensely popular local performer, REME is currently putting together a new set of local shows in and around the city of Houston. He is always open to explore new places to play. Venues and fans should hit him up at [email protected].

The new single follows on the success of REME’s “DREMELAND” album, which has over 30 thousand streams on SoundCloud. “Boom” launches a new project which is in the works, and another single is set to follow. Before that, look out for a snippet from the new music video for “Boom,” dropping everywhere on social media before the single’s release.

BlakBoi Ya$i – Y3$

Industry Spotlight, Music, Promo

New music from South African artist BlakBoi Ya$i speaks of life challenges and triumphs

PIETERMARITZBURG, SOUTH AFRICA – Growing up in South Africa’s KwaZulu-Natal province, Siyabonga Nkosi (known by his professional name, BlakBoi Ya$i) didn’t have the opportunity to focus on his love of music. It wasn’t until 2012 when he burst onto the scene as a rapper and producer, that the artist began creating a steady stream of music. Making up for lost time, BlakBoi dropped his “Ya$i-Ver$3” album earlier this year, and he’s already putting the finishing touches on a new album.

Bringing out back-to-back albums is no problem for this prolific artist. “I really feel like I have music for a long time,” BlakBoi said, “and I can’t see myself stopping any time soon!” His sound is a crazy infusion of Hip-Hop with melodic 808 sounds, blended with alternative dance, pop music and a bit of R&B.

Delivered with a smooth flow, BlakBoi’s lyrics tell of teen and young adult struggles, along with celebrations. On the “Ya$i-Ver$3” album, his soulful vocals shine through, particularly in standout tracks like “Vv$,” with its catchy and rhythmic beat and balanced combo of clean vocals with vocals layered with multiple effects. Rapping and singing, along with complex instrumentation, captivates the listener on another notable song called “Ru$h.”

The new music on the upcoming album, “Hippie” represents an evolution from who he was and he has taken his craft to a whole new level. “It’s definitely more intimate me. Giving my story out but in a fun way that people can relate to, instead of it being super depressing,” he shared. For a slightly more Rock and Roll vibe, BlakBoi used strings on the song “It’s a Trip” which tells the story of how everything in his life has been like a trip. A skilled narrator, he also tells the story of a criminal villain type girl who uses people to get what she needs in the alt-pop track, “Harley Quinn.”

Growing up, BlakBoi listened to a mix of worldwide chart topping music that brought people together. His father got him into Jazz and he grooved to the local sounds of Kwaito (Hip Hop in the native vernacular), Rock and Roll, R&B and Hip Hop. With his eclectic music tastes and sound engineering skills, BlakBoi is creating a sound with international appeal. Listeners at home tend to wait until local music is hyped up before they recognize it. BlackBoi said “I’m doing an alternative version of Hip Hop mixed with Pop and Rock and Roll which is different. A lot of people really don’t understand that here.” With avid listeners in Japan, Europe and the States, Blakboi’s appeal is indisputable.

Besides making music, BlakBoi has been forming liaisons and getting people to work together for the past two years. He has the drive and power to influence others and get the work done in his deeply divided city, which he believes is starting to come together. He also formed the Swag Note Music Group (SNMG) along with a friend. This collective of fifteen photographers, graphic designers, rappers, poets, singers, producers come together to work on their individual brands and support one another.

During his career, the artist has gone through a few name changes including “Clue” and “Even Steven.” Since 2017, he has worked on multiple projects to perfect the sound for the BlakBoi Ya$i persona. BlakBoi plans to release the new album, “Hippie” by the end of this year or in early January, and he has a vision for music videos planned for the project. This dedicated artist is truly poised for music stardom on the world stage.

Almighty Swavve – The Man

Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Promo

WaveGod Almighty Swavve delivers a unique blend of East Coast and Deep South sounds

LONG ISLAND, NY – Duane McKenzie – AKA Almighty Swavve – is creating a wave of music that demands attention. His sound is raw and straight edge. He’s not embellishing anything. His edgy style pairs perfectly with versatile content in a way that is making people all along the East Coast sit up and pay attention.

The 21-year-old from Long Island, New York has a unique blend of East Coast influence mixed with Deep South sounds that he began to fuse together during his time living in Fort Worth, Texas. That one-of-a-kind sound is something that has already started to put him on the map, and it will be the thing that makes him a household name across the U.S. in the months and years to come.

“You could say I’m a message sender or a prophet,” he said of his music. “I’m a street prophet. I’m someone who says things that a lot of people don’t want to talk about or hide. I’m the Robin Hood of the streets, but through music. I write about everything that goes around. Sometimes, my music contradicts itself but ultimately, my music is all about life. And it comes to you through an almighty wave. I am the WaveGod.”

Swavve said WAVE GOD stands for “Watch Allies Value Enemies Good Overrides Destruction.” He said it’s an idea born from the trials and tribulations he’s faced not only in his life but specifically in his journey to realize his dream of becoming a professional musician.

“I’ve had a lot of people who smiled in my face and said they wanted something from me but they weren’t looking for my best interests,” he said. “And I’ve had people who I didn’t really get along with, but who pushed me to a place where I had to be better. I always had to be elite with them. I put that idea into my music and my way of life. You can see it in how I walk and talk, and the people I surround myself with. That’s what it means to be a WaveGod. Anyone can be a WaveGod. Your friends can hurt you worse than your enemies can, but good can always override destruction. That’s what my music is all about.”

That music is put on full display with his two EPs that are currently available on all streaming platforms. Both EPs are appropriately titled “WaveGod” though the second one bears the additional tagline “Splash Season.” Swavve said he also has music videos on his YouTube channel and is currently working on more music that plans to release in early 2020. Specifically, he has a mixtape he’s working on called “Haunt the Industry” which he said should drop in January.
