Allen Lucas fills gap in Hip Hop world with new single ‘Love’ 

LIMA/TOLEDO, OHIO – Allen Lucas has a unique sound and style that can only be described as sophisticated ratchetness. That describes his personality as well as his signature vibe, which is connecting with music lovers all over the U.S. thanks to his new single “Love.” Combining the eclectic musical influences of his years in the Midwest with the sounds he’s picked up from his travels across the nation, Lucas creates a truly original feel that is equal parts captivating and familiar.  

“I can go to an upscale club or a hole in the wall seamlessly,” Lucas said. “That’s why I call my sound sophisticated ratchetness. I can provide the same point of view no matter where I’m at and connect with people anywhere. I am the boy from off the corner and I’ve seen a few things in my life, but I’m trying to move the culture forward beyond the stereotypes that come with that kind of a background.” 

Over the years, Lucas has spent time in New York, Atlanta, Miami and Los Angeles developing his own brand of music. His influences range from his roots in Gospel music to the West Coast influences in Hip Hop. He also has a taste of Down South in his sound combined with some upscale New York fashion thrown in.  

“That’s the beauty of being from the Midwest,” he said. “You get all that thrown together into a kind of love relationship of sound and style. That’s the vibe I’m trying to capture on this new single, ‘Love.’” 

Lucas said the song is based off the actions of love, not the emotions. It’s a song that explores a power couple building from the ground up and celebrating their successes over years of working hard on their relationship.  

“It’s not something cheesy,” he said, “but rather something from a real point of view on a power couple and how they move. The inspiration came from me looking at what’s going on and what most people are doing right now in the Hip Hop world and realize that there was a gap for a love song. At the end of the day, I want to create feel-good music, and this song captures that perfectly. I like to feel good, to smile and to be happy and just have good times. ‘Love’ is something that couples can grab onto like it’s their song and in that way, it’s a song that can last forever.” 

Lucas said he worked with J Bos Engineering out of Miami for production work on the song and that he has plans for a music video in the coming weeks. He’s also working on another single to release later this year, and possibly a third in early 2021.

ML Underwood talks hard work in new single ‘I Got Work’ 

GARY, INDIANA – A man of many talents and lofty goals, ML Underwood is the definition of hard working. His latest single, “I Got Work” is a great example of that. A track that’s focused on working hard and achieving your dreams, this song is the anthem of the year. 

Underwood grew up surrounded by music, whether it was at church, at home or out in the world. Having grown up in the same Indiana town as the family of Michael Jackson, his life was always full of music. “My dad was one of the people that helped the Jacksons raise money to get out on the road and support their career. I got started in music through things like that. I also grew up in a religious household, was in a band in school and got to experience a variety of different kinds of music. I played the trumpet and I even sang at school events.” 

Growing up, Underwood was influenced by middle school and high school directors as well as the Rap groups that he participated in, Le Boyz and The Lover Boys. They helped him get to where he is as a recording artist as well as helped to shape his style as a musician. Mrs Hatcher and Mr Phillips, his music teachers in Elementary and High School also helped influenced him in music “Right now, I would define my sound as subtle. It is clean, subtle, sexy and just overall grown.” 

“I Got Work,” the latest track that Underwood has released, has his signature subtle feel to it, but also presents a bigger and much less subtle idea. “The idea of the song is to give people in urban communities a better way to make money than doing it in the streets. I put into the song that your business is your work and that means that your goals and whatever it is that you’re trying to be is your real work. It’s honest work. The title of the song might make you think that it is about making money off of drugs or on the streets, but it’s really the exact opposite. It is about building generational wealth and creating a future for yourself.” 

Though “I Got Work” is Underwood’s latest track, it is far from his last. “I am always getting better and better. My goal is that every song I put out is better than the last. No matter how far I’ve gone, I’ve always got work to do.” 

Underwood is more than just a musician. He has goals of expanding his artistic ventures and already does a variety of work in different industries. This includes founding and running his consulting agency, MyLife Entertainment and establishing the United Prisoner Association, which helps inmates who are wrongfully imprisoned as well as helping young people to turn their lives around. 

“My goal is to go platinum and create a platform for more opportunities for myself and for others. I want to pave the way for other artists in my area so that they can have a fair shot and the chance to make it on their own. Right now, I have relationships and resources that have allowed me to get to where I am, and I hope that when I’m done, I can help young artists down the same path of success.”

Outspoken critic of social injustice launches scathing indictment of President Trump on new single ‘Sith Lord Pimp’ 

FORT COLLINS, CO – During a week in which the people of the United States of America are gripped in uncertainty about the future leadership of the country, an outspoken artist from the foothills of Colorado is launching a new single that is vocally critical of President Donald Trump. Shane “ShanEye” Cooper’s latest single “Sith Lord Pimp” is a scathing indictment of the President and uses imagery from the famous Star Wars films to portray President Trump as the equal of a tyrannical Sith Lord.  

“I’m not anti-Republican or anti-conservative,” ShanEye said. “I own a business and I’m all about discussing policy. I’m an open-minded person willing to change my position. But with this presidency, we’re talking about a bad human being who is not representative of the people in this country. He’s tearing away at the institutions that have founded this country. Multitalented entertainer Shaila drops uplifting new single ‘SuperQueen’ 

LOS ANGELES, CA – There’s perhaps never been a more opportune time for a single like “SuperQueen” than there is now. After a year in which so many people have felt an overwhelming heaviness, West Coast artist Shaila wants to offer the world something a little lighter and more uplifting. So with her new single, she’s encouraging people to love themselves a little more and shake off the self-doubt that often comes when looking at the little imperfections of character. 

“This song is just a great reminder that you don’t have to be perfect to be loved,” Shaila said. “I wrote it during a time in my life when I had just entered high school and I was around so many different people and my confidence was very low. Singing was my therapy and I wrote this song to encourage myself. It has taken on a life of its own and today, it has more meaning than ever.” 

Like a lot of singers in the U.S., Shaila started singing in church. Her mother was a singer and she would bring Shaila to choir practice regularly. She got her opportunity to join the choir at a relatively young age. Shaila started singing lead in choir when she was 5 years old, relatively young. The experience was overwhelmingly positive that she decided to make music her career, and she hasn’t looked back since. Over time, she has worked hard to hone in on her signature sound, and she’s become known for creating and singing melodies that are different than what’s in the industry today. Her sound is fresh and seamlessly blends together elements of Pop, R&B and Gospel into one beautiful sound. “SuperQueen” in particular shows off the soulful richness of her voice which has fans all over the world begging for more. 

“Ultimately, I want my music to be about uplifting people,” Shaila said. “I also want it to make them feel good. For myself, music is my escape. If I’m able to take people away from the stress they’re experiencing in their lives and make them feel better about themselves or make them happier throughout the day, then that’s my biggest goal for my music.” 

As Shaila has grown as an artist, she’s discovered a broader range to her entertaining talents. While experiencing success as a musician, Shaila has also had success as an actor and a dancer. She’s performed on Broadway and was a featured singer, dancer and actress on Sesame Street Live. She said some of the music videos she’s planning on releasing in the coming months will display some of her dancing ability.
