Old-school Hip-Hop meets new-school sound on impressive new project from Chicago rapper VI The Boss 

CHICAGO, IL – The things people will do for money can sometimes be so despicable that they would make most people cringe. There’s even a passage in the Bible that warns against the love of money, calling it “The Root of all Evil.” That’s also the title of the new EP from Chicago rapper VI The Boss. The six-song project that’s currently available across all streaming platforms is an exploration of the crazy things people will do to get ahead, and the consequences that come from a life lived in pursuit of the next dollar. 

VI The Boss is an artist who brings back the old school style with a modern twist. Over the course of his career he’s established himself as a big player in the music industry. Already well-known in his local scene, VI The Boss is expanding to new audiences with his mainstream appeal. “If you actually listen to my music, I’m saying something,” he said. “This day and age you can say whatever you want to – anybody can rap – but what I bring to the table is rare. I got some little fun vibes and I harmonize and stuff like that. I’m also a boss … legitimately. I own three LLCs and have my own clothing line company and my own record label and my own recording studio. I’ve got a lot of things going on right now, and this new project is just the tip of the iceberg.”

He follows that with “I Need You,” which has more of a trap vibe underneath a love ballad. Both songs are just the entry point to a project that brings a powerful new sound to the stage. 

“Ultimately I want my music to be known for being inspirational,” VI said. “If I can do it, you can do it. I came from nothing – I was literally sleeping in staircases – and look at where I’m at now. You can do the same thing. You’ve just got to stay focused and never give up.”

International sensation sets the stage for next viral dance challenge with new single ‘Dusted Off’ 

HOUSTON, TX – Cayden Pipken – also known as Whiteboi Splash– is a fast-rising young talent out of Houston, Texas, whose upbeat dance-style music is setting the South on fire. His latest hit “Dust It Off” is a dance-worthy track that is sure to become a TikTok viral sensation. Collaborating with fellow artist Mighty Bay – who is featured on the single – to make a dance challenge with the song, Whiteboi Splash uses the song to push past the negativity that has hounded him throughout his young career and propel himself into the realms of global stardom.

Whiteboi Splash started off as a dancer and got his interest in making music while working with other artists in the industry over the years. About two-and-a-half years ago, he started writing and recording his own music, and he hasn’t looked back since. He’s already had the opportunity to open for major artists such as Dababy, NLE Choppa, Quinn NFN, Riff Raff, and Sauce Walka. And he’s gained major attention across social media platforms like Instagram and Triller. He even caught the attention of the legendary P Diddy, who messaged him on Instagram to congratulate him on his success.  

Parlaying that early success into more songs, Whiteboi Splash has made a name for himself doing Triller and TikTok challenges, many of them going viral and setting him up as a truly international artist. Featuring an old-school vibe with a new-school twist, his sound is one-of-a-kind. He loves to perform in the middle of the Pop and Hip Hop lane, and almost always creates music that is fun, upbeat and exciting.  

“We’re making turn-up music,” Johnson said. “He’s making music that relates to a younger audience and is dance-worthy. We’re always looking out for what will play best next, and he has even more singles ready to go this year.” 

Johnson said the next single on the table for Whiteboi Splash is a song called “Supervisor” which is set to be distributed across all streaming platforms in the next month.

2Phantoms explores dark beauty with new Dark Pop hit ‘This Means War’ 

LONDON, UK – London-based 2Phantoms is bringing a new interpretation to Dark Pop with their hit new single “This Means War.” This powerhouse duo of skilled musicians has introduced a new arsenal of sounds into their repertoire with this incredible new track. It’s a song that’s immediately evocative of Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails or Jared Leto’s 30 Seconds to Mars. It’s a bit of a departure for two artists who have a rich musical history and experience spanning 10 years of playing live music in the realms of classical, jazz, rock and metal. But with “This Means War,” this duo shows an ability to create something truly original and immensely intriguing, bringing their own take on the Dark Pop genre. 

The song is an anthem, in many ways, for anyone in the world who is tired of the status quo. It’s a charge to the masses to stop being apathetic about the injustices of the world and to instead recognize that through a combined effort the many can outweigh the few. 

“This song is about a higher power saying they’re in charge and telling you what to do,” state the Phantoms. “Once they initiate that conflict, though, they’re heavily outmatched by the many. So ultimately it’s a song about the many verses the few and trying to inspire people to take charge of the wrongs of the world.” 

The sound and vibe of this new single is one that 2Phantoms have developed within the past couple years as a result of what today’s world is throwing at us all. The two have been playing together for about 10 years, focusing on other genres of music. But as they explored more and collaborated on songwriting, they discovered a mutual love for Dark Pop and the different form of expression that genre allowed. “This Means War” is just the first of a handful of songs that the two have created, with more releases planned for this summer and later this year until it culminates with a full EP.  

“This is a completely different animal from what we’ve been doing in the past,” they explain. “With this we’re trying to do something that doesn’t necessarily depend on anyone else, but on us only. We like the idea of having the freedom to do whatever we think and makes us happy, without having to be accountable to anyone else telling us what to do. We want it to be organic and experimental. What happens if we do this? Will it be a hit? Will it suck? We’re really enjoying that process and excited to see how people respond to the music.”
