Twin brothers blend R&B and Rap
for super sexy summer EP ‘Mami Wata’

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA – East Coast twins Cortez Jamar and Tuezday have put their musical talents to work with full effects this summer, dropping what is set to become one of the season’s hottest EPs. The project is called “Mami Wata” and it is tailor-made as a vibe perfect for all those summer activities – neighborhood barbecues, beach side hangouts or backyard pool parties.

Set to drop across all streaming platforms on Aug. 7, “Mami Wata” has already started getting major attention across the East Coast thanks to its hot debut track “Party Girl.” The number of plays on the song is climbing into the tens of thousands after having only been recently released, and as more buzz surrounds the song, the twin’s popularity is sure to grow. Featuring a Pop/Rap sound that blends R&B influences, “Party Girl” is the kind of popular sound that could easily be heard on the radio. And with lyrics that cater to the ladies, it’s a song that is sure to cross multiple demographics.

“We’re just trying to show our versatility,” Tuezday said. “We want to show people our expertise and lyricism. We want to do more Hip Hop stuff but also more slow soulful funky type Ballads. With this song, it’s mainly R&B with a Pop crossover and with hints of Rap in it which fits in line with the kind of music we want to bring to the world. That said, we are looking to expand our musical styles and create music influenced by Hip Hop, Soul, Jazz, EDM, House and Alternative.”

Following “Party Girl” is an R&B feel-good song called “Only You.” It explores the feelings that come when you’ve found the perfect person – that special person in your life. Both Tuezday and Cortez say the song was inspired by their own relationships. That’s also true of the Dance/Trap single “She Bad” which Tuezday said he wrote as homage to women.

“It’s a Rap/Trap instrumental that I performed about uplifting women,” he said. “It’s about a woman who has all of her things together. She’s independent and she’s got her own money and is very self-sufficient. She’s a woman with natural hair pursuing her natural beauty. It’s about elevated women – women of color – showing that they’re representatives of our culture and doing their thing and we’re recognizing them for being independent and doing their thing.”

Also on the EP is a song called “Ocean” which Cortez said is more explicit than any of the others on the project. He said it uses the “bodily fluids” of a young woman as a metaphor for making waves when two people who complement each other come together.

“It’s referring to the ocean in that you’re having a good time with somebody and getting wavy and turning up,” Cortez said. “It’s a really good summer song because it’s referring to the ocean and having a good time and the sexy vibe that will get you dancing with a bit of Reggaeton Dancehall type vibe.”

Cortez said that island vibe is really at the core of the EP, which is reflected in the title of the project and its main single of the same name. “Mami Wata” is an African name for a bad girl who is also fine, Cortez said.

“She’s a deity in African culture that is related to a powerful or abundant force,” he said. “With this entire EP, we’re trying to encourage and uplift a female audience. So this EP is directed more toward the females, though we’re looking toward pushing it toward a mainstream audience. It’s mainly R&B with a Pop crossover, with hints of Rap in it.”

The brothers have always shown an interest in music and performed alongside their older brother, Will Trust, doing positive spiritual music in churches all up-and-down the East Coast during their teenage years. After high school, they got more serious about their music and at age 21 decided to step into a studio and record music for the first time. It was the next step in their journey, one that had been honed in the middle school band – Tuezday playing trumpet and Cortez playing percussion. They learned the basics of music and have taken those fundamentals with them in the years since, expanding on them and experimenting with different sounds and styles until they found their own unique signature.

Their disparate influences display how they use inspirations from different genres and use those things to fuse together such an original sound. Tuezday’s influences include artists such as Ma$e, Notorious B.I.G., Ja Rule, Wiz Khalifa, Lloyd Banks, Nipsey Hussle, Curren$y, Soulja boy, The Underachievers, and Sir Michael Rocks. Cortez, on the other hand, has influences more in line with R&B with artists such as Brandy, Mariah Carey, Craig David, Usher, Chris Brown, Jamie Foxx, Aaliyah, Static Major, Brent Faiyaz, and K. Forest. Those influences come together perfectly on “Mami Wata.”

Standout single from God Luce Witda Horns teaches new wave of Hip Hop lovers new lingo with ‘I Spill’

HOUSTON, TX – Anyone who comes across Genesis Harris is left with a lasting impression. At any given time his hair is arranged into two, four and sometimes even six horns, taken in conjunction with his skills as a rapper or his passion for creating a movement known as Immortal Gods and Goddesses Theophanys, it’s impossible to ignore him. “I came up with my own movement that I call spilling,” he said. “Spilling comes from the soul. God Luce started his journey in the music industry at a young age as a dancer. His Hip Hop dancing is unique and he is generally considered the best dancer in Houston. He’s made a name for himself throughout town, and over time has parlayed that name into a successful career as a musician. His distinctive aggressive flow is a mirror of his life and his movement. Rappers like Lil Wayne, Lil Boosie and Dababy all had major influences on his sound and style, but it wasn’t until he discovered his life’s mission that the lyrics behind his music would help him truly create something that is now his signature.

Embracing the theology of Theophany – which states that every human or person has a god inside them – God Luce began to explore the various ways that affected his life. He adopted the name God Luce Witda Horns and started wearing his dreadlocks in horns everywhere he went. R&B, Hip Hop and Pop combine under soaring vocals from hot new West Coast artist Aaron Le

SACRAMENTO, CA – A fresh sound from young new artist Aaron Le is about to hit the market with his debut album “Trouble,” set to drop across all streaming platforms on Aug. 14. The project is produced and distributed by State of Gold Music with whom Le signed for a one-EP project. Floyd Armbrester, CEO of State of Gold Music, discovered Le and has worked with him over the past year through various collaborations of artists also on the label – including the singles “Overtime” featuring The Mekanix, “Smell Like Money” featuring Clyde Carson, and “Girl I’m The Man” featuring Keak da Sneak. All three of these HOT tracks were featured on the State of Gold California Album.

As a Vietnamese-American who loves Hip Hop and R&B, Le said he hopes to be able to inspire other young Asian-Americans who have dreams of making it in the entertainment industry. Le developed his passion for music early in life by listening to Hip Hop music with his older brother who was involved in break dancing. Le said he fell in love with the sounds of artists like Michael Jackson, Chris Brown and Usher, among others. When he started singing their songs, others began to notice that he had a great voice and encouraged him to develop his sound. At age 16, Le was introduced to Q Made The Beats who had his own studio. The two worked together and recorded some early tracks that more than anything else helped Le catch the bug for the art of making music. He hasn’t looked back since and is excited to partner with State of Gold Music to launch his debut album.

“I hope people hear my music and have fun and recognize me as someone who has a young spirit,” Le said. “I also hope I can inspire other Asian-Americans to know that they can do it. It’s tough in this industry to have a signature, and I want to inspire younger cats so that they can believe in themselves and follow their dreams. Marthefinesser puts unique twist on Charlotte sound with new mixtape ‘Heartbreaks & Roses’

CHARLOTTE, NC – – There’s a certain sound that Hip Hop artists from Charlotte, North Carolina are known for. It’s a sound often associated with musicians like Dababy and Stunna, and it’s a sound that young up-and-coming “Prince of the Carolinas” Marthefinesser definitely exhibits. Another song from the mixtape – and Marthefinesser’s personal favorite – is the love song “Strange Addiction.” What started out as a poem he wrote expressing his love toward a woman has turned into an anthem that both women and men are embracing. The hook in particular is one that resonates with listeners, with lyrics that say “Let me show you, you can forget the old dude. Even when I’m mad at you, I still hold you. Just promise me that you’re different and you won’t fold, too.”

“It’s like a poem with punchlines,” he said. “I wasn’t expecting too many other guys to get into it, but they really love it. There have been quite a few other dudes tagging me on social media while they’re singing along to it, and I was really surprised. That’s been a good one for me, right there.”

In addition to the mixtape, Marthefinesser said he’s working on more music that should release later this year, as well as a new video for “Strange Addiction.”

Mississippi master of freestyle drops stream-of-conscious summer jam with new single ‘Hot Sh*t’

LAS VEGAS, NV – Raw and real take center stage with the latest single from Las Vegas rapper AJ1K. “Hot Sh*t” is aggressive and upbeat while showcasing AJ1K’s ability as a freestyle artist to spit lyrics that are simultaneously entertaining and challenging to the listener. It’s a song that “tells the story of how people are today,” AJ1K said, while focusing on a stream of conscious delivery that opts to leave out a hook in favor of an unending flow of raw emotion in lyrical form.

“I grew up in Mississippi, so the artists I grew up on were Lil Boosie, UGK and 8 Ball,” AJ1K said. “That’s the type of style I grew up on and it really influences my sound. As a child, I was always capable of rapping and I could always freestyle really well off the top of my head. But I never thought I’d get to meet my idol. And when he invited me to his house for a listening session after my ‘Code Red’ release, it really gave me a boost of confidence and made me really buckle down and start to take music seriously.”

That’s when he decided to change his stage name to AJ1K – a play off his birth name, Alfred Jenkins, and the 1,000 percent energy and attention to detail that he brings to everything he does, especially music.

“What I want my music to be known for most is my story,” he said. “‘Code Red’ is more of my storyline than anything else. It’s me being creative, but it’s also being real and authentic. I want to be remembered for that real-ness. I’ve gone through a lot in my life – I lost my mother last year to natural causes, for instance, and I’m only 23. That hit me hard and I put that in my music. So I hope people remember me for being real and being myself at all times. I want my legacy to be remembered for being 1,000.”

As he continues to ride the wave of success from “Hot Sh*t,” AJ1K said he’s hard at work on the follow-up album to “Code Red” which he’s tentatively calling “Code Red 2.” He hopes to release that in early 2021.

Justin said the Pop and R&B fusion of the song creates a chill, uplifting vibe that was inspired by some of his favorite artists such as The Chain Smokers, Max Martin and The Beatles. To date, fans have reacted well to the song with more than 100,000 plays on various digital platforms. Justin said he hopes to bring a fresh voice to the table, with lyrics that reflect his raw transparency.

“I speak from the heart in all of my songs,” he said. “Everything I talk about is purely what I’m feeling in the moment. I don’t try to shape my sound with a specific target in mind. I’m completely raw and authentic, and I’m doing every aspect of the music on my own – writing, producing, engineering and mastering. South Florida rapper drops mixtape filled with bangers and lyrical stories

MIAMI, FL – One of the hottest up-and-coming storytellers in Hip Hop has dropped a hot new mixtape called “Out The Shadows” and the debut single from the project is lighting up the country with its fresh energy and crazy beat.

The song is called “Circus” and it comes from South Florida rapper Trill. Though he’s been rapping since age 11, “Out The Shadows” is his first official mixtape, and the success of its debut single shows that he’s coming out of the shadows with a bang.

“There are so many good rappers out there that you’ve never heard of, and they’re like the Ninja Turtles coming out of the sewers right now, kicking ass,” Trill said. “That’s what I’m doing. It’s time for people to know who I am, and that’s what this project is all about.”

“Circus” is a club banger that is the perfect song for the summer. It’s starts off with a slow build-up, and when the drop comes, the Spanish-influenced rhythm makes it impossible for listeners not to move their feet. “I consider myself a legit rapper,” he said. “That said, this beat is one of those that just pops out there. It’s one of the best beats I’ve ever heard. It has a Spanish feel to it because there’s a little bit of Salsa in the background but it’s also Trap and it’s just unique. The idea is that everybody comes to the circus to have fun and see crazy things. So this song is about a circus full of people where they just get down and get crazy.”

Trill said he’s been into music from a young age when his mother used to work for IJ Records. He recalls one memory in particular when the record label brought in the group Humble Thugs who were on the verge of making it big in the industry. He joined his mother in the studio as the group recorded, and he was impressed by the group’s lyrical ability. It motivated him to write his own song which he and his younger sister performed. He started studying lyricists like Andre 300, Eminem and Meek Mills, as well as some of the best orators in history, such as Malcolm X and Martin Luther King Jr. He took inspiration from their mastery of the spoken word and has used that to develop his own unique sound and style today.

“I consider myself a lyricist,” he said. “I can tell stories. I’m not a drill rapper or a mumble rapper. I’m a lyricist. I like to tell a story, but I like for everything I say to make sense. I don’t like repeating myself over and over which is what most rappers are doing today because it’s catchy. I like making bangers and feeding off whatever I come up with. If I come up with a hook, I feed off it. But first and foremost, I’m a lyricist and storyteller, and I want to be known for being a great rapper.”

Tragedy sparks new trajectory for Chicago-based artist GottiDinero

CHICAGO, IL – Life shifted when Tay Mulla got the news that his brother and cousin died in a car crash this year. The young Hip Hop artist from the Englewood section of Chicago had been rapping with his brother for years, and the two had been slowly making a name for themselves throughout the greater Chicago area as rappers who should be taken seriously. His brother’s name was GottiDinero, and to honor him and make sure that name never gets lost to history, Tay has adopted the stage name as his own.

Under that name, GottiDinero has been releasing singles over the past year that are pure emotion. They’re the kind of singles that the Hip Hop industry needs today. They’re helping him spread his reputation beyond the Midwest into the entire U.S. and into the rest of the world. His latest single, “Yea Yea” is a fun vibe that is perfect for the summer.

“It’s a song that’s basically me like I’m lit,” he said. “It’s a getting-money vibe with that rapid fire delivery as I talk about my lifestyle and getting money and being with girls. GottiDinero said music became a central part of his life at a young age. He remembers listening to Lil Wayne as young as age 3. As he grew a little older, his cousin found a way for them to record on SoundCloud which sparked his journey in rap. Though his cousin would eventually walk away from music, GottiDinero never did. He fell into music, and about two years ago, he’d reached a point where he began releasing his music to the world. He shot his first music video and things began to take off. Then tragedy struck with his brother.

“It happened on June 17th this year,” he said. “My brother was with my cousin and sister and two friends. Four of them were ejected out of the car, but my cousin was stuck in the car and died on the spot. My brother, sister and friends were in the hospital. He died in the hospital and so did another girl. But my sister and her friend survived and healed pretty quickly. Thank God they healed quick. It took me a little while but I eventually realized I wanted to make sure my brother’s name is still out there and lives on. Any time they see me, they see his face. That’s what I hope my music does – passes that legacy along.”

I’m very proud of it because not only does it show you how far I’ve come as a person and a musician, but it’s some of the best song writing I’ve ever done.”

Based off his real-life experience of a painful breakup, “Flexin on a Heartbreak” explores the months and year following the dissolution of what he believes was a very strong connection. To this day, he considers her to be the perfect match and can’t understand how everything ended, and that raw emotion finds its way into every track of the album in ways that are sure to resonate with millions of people around the globe who have experienced similar relationship hardships.

“As much as it hurts, I’m glad I had that experience because she is someone who ended up being a muse for my music,” Aeropryme said. “I feel it and it’s magnificent. I want to spread love in my music and I’m manifesting the love that I felt with her and putting it into my Album, and in my own way I’m making those real moments last forever in my songs. I’m sharing with people how I’ve dealt with heartbreak over the past year and how that has helped me to focus on my music and career and get better as a person and songwriter. This album will have run-of-the-mill Trap songs but without any of the curse words or intentional shallow lyrics typical of the genre. It will also have very, very sad love songs. Both of those things are true reflections of the journey I’ve been experiencing over the last few years. This particular lady was the final piece of the puzzle for how I have always wanted to venture out and deliver my music. I’ve collaborated with many artists around the globe and I have been credited on other people’s projects as well, but this album is the culmination of my life’s work. I’ve been doing music for 15 years and for the first time in my life, I’m comfortable and creative enough to release an album to the world. I’ve been a major player on the underground scene for a long time but with this album, I really believe I can become a major international recording artist.”

Soulful singer Barryle evokes thoughts of
John Legend with latest single ‘Say It’

GREENVILLE, SC – It’s time for music lovers to start paying attention to Barryle. The soulful songwriter and singer from South Carolina had been making music for years, perfecting a sound and style that is equal parts throwback and original. With a voice reminiscent of John Legend and a production style that matches the highest levels of talent in the industry, this young artist is a musician that can no longer be ignored.

“I’ve written thousands of songs over the years,” he said. “A while back, I made a goal of writing a song or a beat every day of the year. I’ve done that for five years now and I’ve learned a lot along the way. When I create songs, it always starts with one or two lines that pop in my mind. If I don’t forget it, I feel like it’s good enough to make a song out of it. I’m a very lyrical person. I like listening to songs that have lines that stick with you. I’m big on creating those kinds of moments. With this song in particular, the line I started with was ‘What good is love if …’ that line kept coming back to me so I made the beat and from there, I loved the song. It’s maybe my favorite song that I’ve created. I’m a person who says everything I feel in the moment I feel it, and this song basically says that if you care for me and love me, then you should say that now. Don’t wait forever to say it. Tomorrow may not come, so let’s love today.”

When it comes to love, Barryle is no stranger to its ups and downs. He credits his wife, Nala as his muse and the one person who has not only stood beside him while he chased this dream of being a professional musician, but lifted him up in times when he doubted himself.

“Valentine’s Day weekend of 2016 is a good example of that,” he said. “We were approaching our first Valentine’s Day as a married couple. I had finished recording my first full self-produced album ‘Jean, DeAnna, B.Major’ on my birthday on Feb. 8, and Valentine’s Day was the following Sunday. I only had a little more than $100 to my name, and I was trying to think of things we could do for Valentine’s Day that would have meaning but wouldn’t cost as much because I wasn’t going to get paid for another 12 days. I went to our bedroom to tell her that the album was done and she said, ‘Good. There’s a guy on Facebook printing 100 CDs for $100. You should get some.’ I let her know why I thought I should wait and she fought me until I gave in and called the guy. We went and picked up the CDs on Valentine’s Day weekend, stuffed CDs and inserts into sleeves and went to barbershops and hair salons singing with my guitar. We sold well over those 100 CDs that we ordered and had to print more. We ended our weekend on Valentine’s Day and I asked Nala – with a replenished bank account – ‘What do you want to do for Valentine’s Day?’ She immediately pointed me to an open mic and we spent the day working together to reach this goal. From that open mic, I met a great friend who sent me to a gig in his place because he couldn’t make it, and from that moment forward, my career hasn’t slowed down. Nala has become my music and I’m amazed daily by her. Every time I attempt to slip back into being the insecure person I used to be, she reminds me of who I am. She just completes my puzzle.”

It’s stories like that – deeply emotional but also relational – that find their way into Barryle’s songs time and time again. He has a big archive of music that he’s created over the past five years, and he’s set to release a new single every Friday from now until the end of the year.
