International Pop icon Max Barskih flies to America with soaring new single

UKRAINE – The man Forbes Magazine has dubbed “Ukraine’s Music Ambassador To The World” is making his way to the U.S. and bringing his massive fanbase with him. His latest hit single “Just Fly” is the kind of upbeat, nostalgic Pop vibe that is infectious in the best of ways. Max Barskih’s “Just Fly” is destined to become the hit single of 2021 and make him a household name in America.

Accompanied by a Woody Allen-esque video filmed at Boryspil International Airport, the single is one that perfectly showcases the impressive vocals and artistic talent of this global phenom. The critically acclaimed artist has won a number of awards for his music, including a number of MTV EMAs, Golden Gramophones and Top Hit Music Awards. His career has blossomed through becoming the most touring and most-played artist on radio stations across the Russian Federation, Ukraine, and the CIS countries.

Max embarks on a new era with “Just Fly,” while provoking an impeccable charm toward his new music. According to Max, his new character’s attitude is as close as possible to how he feels about life himself.

“In my opinion, there are a lot of negative emotions in music trends nowadays,” he said. “I decided to create my own world where every story has a happy ending. These days I am fascinated by the music of the 50s and 60s. ‘Just Fly’ is my positive mantra, and every sound in it was created to stimulate endorphins and set the mood for a flight of fantasy.”

As soon as listeners hear the opening bars of “Just Fly,” they’ll recognize the influences of 50s and 60s music on the song. It’s almost as if Max spent a day in the studio with Elvis Presley and the two of them brought to life a more modern-day take on that throwback sound. The fun Pop vibe is upbeat and full of joy, and the hook is definitely catchy. People all over the world will be playing this on repeat for years to come. And the colorful video is filled with energy and lends even more to that nostalgic, feel-good vibe.

It’s songs and videos like this that have led Max to achieve more than 1.5 billion listeners and gain 15.5 million radio plays over the years. He’s been championed by the likes of Forbes, l’offiel Hommes, GQ, Vogue, Playboy, Marie Claire, Cosmopolitan, Elle, Harpers Bazaar, Instyle, and Glamour. He has also provided the official soundtrack for a Pepsi commercial. And now, after listening to his international fans clamoring for an all-English single, he is ready to deliver “Just Fly” to his global audience and showcase the true star that he is.

“Just Fly” is currently available across all streaming platforms, and the video is available on his YouTube channel.

Sloane Angell – Halston Takes A Trip

Blog, ME Blog, Music

Internationally known DJ launches recording career with hot debut single ‘Halston Takes a Trip’

LOS ANGELES, CA – Old-school Disco meets modern-era House music on the debut hit single from DJ-turned-recording-artist Sloane Angell. “Halston Takes a Trip” is a long, psyche-ish groove with hypnotic synth stabs and punchy drums that invite the listener to the dance floor and keep them there. It’s a fun track ready made for hanging out on the beach or enjoying a night out at the club. Roughly inspired by the Halston documentary on Netflix, the song is Angell’s attempt to make a desert rave song, albeit born from his love of the unique sounds and styles of the 70s.

“I love bringing a lot of really older sounds to the table,” Angell said. “I love Disco and the resurgence of Disco in House music. I’m trying to bring in samples and unique sounds from the 70s and some of that original Disco. That’s definitely true of this track. Ultimately I’d like to reference certain samples and sounds from different eras and incorporate them in all my songs. Mostly I’m interested in curating environments and moods. That’s what I’ve always sought after as a DJ. I have an eye for setting really specific energies in rooms or environments. Before, I used other people’s work to set those tones, but in the future I’d like to use more and more of my music to fine-tune even more moods I’m trying to create.”

After nearly a decade of serving as one of the go-to DJs of Los Angeles, Angell said he’s excited to be able to write and produce his own music. It’s an endeavor that he said allows him to have an even more tailored touch on the music that’s played in the environments he’s creating. But music isn’t the only artistic endeavor that he pursues on a daily basis.

Spending most of his days as a ceramicist – either making shapes on the pottery wheel, or loading a kiln, heated to a temperature that could ‘evaporate a body’ – he also dabbles in fashion, with his clothing line Mercer Market selling at cool boutiques across the USA. In the summertime he jets off to Montauk and holds down a summer residency at the Surf Lodge, in Los Angeles. He can often be found playing many a party, whether it be at Malibu Soho House or fancy houses in the hills. He’s been sought-after and coveted for the best parties in LA since he first landed on the West Coast from his native New York. He is essentially the go-to DJ for every SOHO house location every weekend, and through that experience he has developed a keen taste for ambient celebratory atmospheric tracks.

He is a man of many talents, and now that he’s writing and producing his own music he has become a man of many more.

Kara Colvin – Fired Up

Blog, Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Promo

Pop Rock gets a new twist on catchy new single from Kara Colvin

WEST PALM BEACH, FL – Anything a man can do, a woman can do … in heels.

Serving as both the hook and the theme of the hit new single “Fired Up,” that sentiment of women empowerment takes center stage on the latest offering from fast-rising young talent Kara Colvin. Hailing from West Palm Beach, Florida, this 20-year-old singer/songwriter has been creating some buzz along the East Coast with her unique blend of Pop and Rock set against soaring vocals that are undeniable. Taking influences from the grunge rock of the 90s and fusing that with the Pop sounds of today.

With “Fired Up,” Colvin showcases that unique style in impressive ways. It’s a song that talks about the expectations of women in today’s society, and the obstacles that every woman has faced growing up.

“So often we hear phrases – like ‘You throw like a girl’ or ‘You cried like a little girl’ – and this song basically says that we’re tired of taking this. We’re fired up,” Colvin said. “We’re not going to listen to this anymore because it isn’t fair. I’m gonna do what I wanna do because I want to do it, not because a man wants me to do it or I’m ‘supposed to do it.’ It’s all about self-empowerment and the key line that sticks with people is ‘Anything a man can do, I can do in heels.’ It’s an idea that fights the notion that women aren’t as capable as men.”

Colvin’s hook on “Fired Up” is a signature of her young career as a singer/songwriter. With all of the songs she’s released she’s developed a reputation as someone who has a talent for turning a phrase into something that’s equal parts anthemic and catchy. Those notable lyrics and individual lines of songs get stuck in people’s heads, and the result is a wave of music that’s being replayed over and over again all across the U.S.

“Ultimately I want my music to be known for helping people to really feel what I’m feeling,” Colvin said. “When you listen to a song and really love a certain line, or really love a certain phrase, it really gets to you. I try to always have a line like that which really grabs people. And I want to be known for helping people to really feel what I’m feeling and experience those things with me. Through that they can hopefully know that they’re not alone.”

Colvin said she’s currently at work on her second album, and that “Fired Up” is the debut single from that project.

Eric Roberts – House of Glass

Blog, Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Promo

Eric Roberts pours pain and anger into new soul-searching album ‘House of Glass’

INDIANAPOLIS, IN – The internal pain of a divorce has often been described as the most powerful and intense pain a person can endure. This is especially true of a marriage that has lasted well beyond 20 years, as was the case for Eric Roberts and his marriage of 23 years. Going through his divorce in 2015, and the recovery of the past six years, has been a long and hard journey – one that he chronicles in creative ways on his new album “House of Glass,” which is currently available across all streaming platforms.

Exploring a bevvy of emotions with which people all over the world will be able to relate, Roberts offers insight on dissolution of a relationship by taking a close look at the elation, passion, disappointment, guilt, apathy, anger, hopelessness, and resolve that comes from such an intense relationship. Exploring the five stages of grief that people go through following a divorce, “House of Glass” is an extremely heartfelt and transparent deep-dive into the resiliency of a man who has been chewed up and spit out and now resolves to move forward with his life.

“If you can imagine being in a 23-year marriage that slowly starts to degrade, you’ll begin to get an idea of the pain that comes with this album,” Roberts said. “It starts with noticing that things are falling apart, and then after the marriage falls completely apart you go through the five stages of grief – shock and denial, anger, depression and detachment, bargaining, and eventually acceptance. Absolutely this is an album that reflects my personal journey, but it’s also something that a lot of people can relate to.”

Along the way listeners will be treated to a fusion of different sounds and styles as Roberts brings his more than 30 years of playing professionally in bands to the forefront. Every instrument on the album is played by him, and the juxtaposition of different genres makes for something truly original. From Country to Jazz to R&B and even some 80s Metal, Roberts taps into many different styles to ultimately create something that’s uniquely his own.

“When you get hurt and pissed off, there’s no better medicine than music,” Roberts said. “People look for music that meets their mood at a certain time. There’s not a lot of soul-searching music out there, but this album definitely fits that niche. I was hurt and pissed off and I sat in a studio and made an album. It was just a way for me to deal with my problems, and now other people have heard it and have encouraged me to do something with it because of how good they say it is. I hope it helps people realize the mistakes they’re making in their own relationships and make positive changes. At the end of the day, in my opinion, if you’re with more-or-less the right person but you feel like you aren’t and you’re knowingly making mistakes to drive that apart, you’re making a huge mistake. Once it’s gone, it’s gone, and you’ll never recover from the pain and misery of it.”

Roberts said he has even more music already prepared for release over the coming months, and is looking to create another full album to release sometime in the spring of 2022. To listen to his music, or to follow him on social media, please visit the following links:

Harris – Bad Dreams

Blog, Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Promo

Nostalgia meets modern melted music on new album from West Coast artist Harris

PORTLAND, OR – Blend together some R&B with an Alternative twist, some Indie inspired Rock, Hip-Hop, Pop and Reggae, and mix in some Dance/EDM vibes, and you’ve got all the ingredients that make up the stunning music from West Coast artist Harris. But before it gets showcased to the masses, his music needs to be melted.

That’s the vibe music lovers will get from his new album “Land of the Weird,” which is currently available across all streaming platforms. It’s a project that expertly blends multiple genres and sounds in a way that can only be described as “melted” together. From love songs like “Bad Dreams” to socially conscious tracks like the title track “Land of the Weird” to Afro-beat dance jams like “Runaway Slave,” Harris displays an adept ability to weave together so many different sounds and styles for something that is truly original and intriguing.

“My music has that throwback, nostalgic-type vibe that morphs nicely into now,” Harris said. “I have listened to many different types of music over the years – so many singers and songwriters and so many different rock, blues and funk bands – I’m inspired by it all. I love electronic music, as well, and quirky sounds. So, I blend all those things together and melt it into the essence of my songcraft.  You put all those things together and melt it down and that’s Harris.”

Operating since 2010, Harris creates music under his SkyHouse Music label, through which he has collaborated with a diverse group of singers, songwriters, rappers, musicians, lyricists and recording engineers. He said being a freelancer has been a wild ride, as every project has its memorable moments.

It was Harris’ mother who got him hooked on music at a young age. Her talent as a lyricist came to her easily in the form of poetry and rhyming affirmations, which she would leave for he and his brother to find around their home. Education was also a vital part of Harris’ development as an artist. When he wasn’t shooting a basketball or running with a football, Harris was at the local library visiting the many worlds available to him right at his fingertips. This led to writing poetry about the different worlds, which led to writing lyrics and creating his own worlds and stories for people to enjoy.

His new album, “Land of the Weird,” reflects much of those early years as a child. He said the overall vibe of the project is genre-busting.

“It sounds exactly like how I grew up,” he said. “It has some hip-hop and R&B and rock and ballads … and it all fits together rather seamlessly like the singer/songwriter albums I grew up listening to, but with some electronic textures running through it. It’s a project that will resonate with a lot of people right now because it was born out of all the stuff that’s been going on in the past couple of years – social unrest and the pandemic and politics and so many different things that we’re living with now, and the feelings that a lot of people are dealing with through all of that.”

Charm – Love Only

Blog, Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Promo, Videos

Singer/Songwriter CHARM explores many facets of love on fun and funky new single ‘Love Only’

CHARLOTTE, NC – Over a span of 15 years and 14 commercial songs, CHARM has graced stages of more than 20,000 people, and her reach is only increasing by the day.

Not limited to just singing, CHARM is a songwriter, arranger and producer who values timeless music. Influenced by the likes of Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey, CHARM believes music is transformational and engages her audience with moving and powerful vocals.

The latest release by CHARM, “Love Only,” reintroduces the artist to the world after six years of retreat due to a genetic condition. Taking no prisoners, CHARM has returned more resilient and magnetic, and is committed to sharing the message of love with the world.

“So often in today’s world that message of love gets lost,” CHARM said. “One of the things that I really value in my personal experience – from childhood to now as an adult – is understanding of the many facets of love. Love comes in so many forms from the people you surround yourself with – family, co-workers, friends. This song basically is saying, “If you want to rock with me, it’s gonna be love. The fluff, the negativity, the criticism – all of that stuff isn’t love. And if you’re gonna rock with me it’s gotta be love. It’s not about the rings or the bling, it’s about love. When you go to the hospital and get sick, those rings and bling won’t be there to take care of you and make sure you’re ok. The people who love you will be there. If I had to choose between riches and love, I’d choose love. And I think the message of love is brought in a fun and funky way with this single.”

CHARM believes that when most people hear the word “love” they think of the lovey-dovey feelings and emotions, but CHARM reiterates that there are many types of relationships through which love can be expressed.

For this single, CHARM explores eros love, and describes it as “a pop song that you’re gonna rock to.” It’s fun and funky and reflects what many on the dating scene are inherently seeking: love.

The single is the first off an EP called “The Love Project,” which should release later this year.

All of the songs explore love or connect to love in one way or another. That includes all kinds of love, CHARM highlights, not just the “eros” passionate type of love that comes with a romantic relationship. Across seven songs CHARM said she’ll explore every facet of love there is through every type of relationship one might think about.

Zarenae – Dreamy

Blog, Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Promo, Videos

Rising Pop Star Zarenae brings California Summer Fun to the table with new hit single ‘Dreamy’

LOS ANGELES, CA – Zarenae, born and raised in Southern California, is a fast-rising singer/songwriter who made her debut in 2020 with a faithful cover of Madonna’s Pop classic “True Blue.” With that track the world was introduced to a talented singer with a versatile voice and a knack for expertly delivering a legendary Pop hook.

Now she’s back with new smash hits that will make the world want to dance. Starting with “Body Talk,” which she released early this summer, Zarenae brings a bubbly, Pop-forward song that’s fun and upbeat. Following that, she released the summer hit “Dreamy,” which went live across all streaming platforms July 30.

Right from the get-go “Dreamy” creates a vibe that makes the listener feel as if they’re on the beach with her, enjoying a care-free day. It’s a song with a nice Pop bounce to it, and her vocals immediately showcase a rare talent in today’s industry. She’s definitely letting her presence be felt with enjoyable lyrics and a summertime groove that showcases her star presence shining bright in its finest hour.

“Growing up I would always look forward to summer, and I wanted to capture that feeling with this song,” Zarenae said. “I was thinking about past romances and how summertime is usually a time for new flings. It’s about a summertime crush, but you know it’s only going to last for the season, so you don’t want to catch feelings and instead just enjoy the moment. It’s more about the fun aspect, and I wanted to embody that experience in this song.”

“The sound I bring – which is Pop/contemporary with an R&B vibe at times – and the messages I share in my music — makes me stand out and be unique, I think,” she said. “After experiencing the effects of COVID-19 with my school friends, I wanted to create music that spreads fun and positive vibes, that will make people forget about the past and live in the moment. My goal, whether it’s in a 3-minute song or a two-hour set, is to help people forget everything going on around them, so they can have fun and dance! I’m just a fun California girl, and I really hope my music can spread a positive energy to the world so that people can experience a good, fun moment.”

Zarenae said she plans to release more singles this year before dropping a debut EP. To listen to her music, or to follow her on social media, please visit the following links:

KILKENNY – NEPTUNE

Blog, Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Promo, Videos

KILKENNY explores love, mental health and peer pressure with mellow ambiance on new album ‘HYPO’

PORTLAND, OR – A vast array of production styles that explore themes of love, mental health and peer pressure make its way onto the new album from West Coast artist KILKENNY. Embracing the anti-hyper-pop aesthetic, this new artist’s project “HYPO” offers a more mellow, low-key side of Pop-infused sounds and styles that elicits a more melancholy and almost ethereal vibe. Across nine tracks, KILKENNY brings listeners along on a journey of self-discovery and introspection, while also offering an ambiance that’s ready-made for relaxation.

The project started with the single “HEADLIGHTS,” which he released in January. Not originally intending to create a full album, KILKENNY said he was curious to see what kind of response he would get from the release of “HEADLIGHTS.” He’s been an artist exploring the diverse sub-genres of Pop music for a while, and “HEADLIGHTS” was a foray into uncharted territory for him. The response he received was overwhelming, and he decided to further explore that sound and style through a full project.

The standout single from the album is a song called “NEPTUNE.” It has a sound and style that KILKENNY said he hasn’t really heard within the music industry before, and as such it’s a track that he’s extremely proud of.

“It just feels so unique and different, but still so captivating with the way it sounds,” he said. “I really believe it’s something people haven’t heard before. And within the lyrics I’m talking about my battles with myself and the struggles of getting over insecurities and bettering your life. It was born from a time when I struggling with anxiety and depression and that moment when it feels like it’s never going to end. This song represents that feeling of never being able to get over what you feel and fearing that you’ll never again feel happy.”

Among the standout sounds of the single are KILKENNY’s signature vocals, which are immediately identifiable for listeners. Stylistically, the way he does his vocals is unlike any other artist in the game today. He incorporates pedal boards and other various distortions to enhance the vibe he’s developed on the project, and as such offers listeners something truly original. Eventually he plans on branching out from this sound and exploring a more hyper-pop sound with a follow-up album in 2022. Ultimately, he hopes to offer fans music that encourages them to just be themselves and embrace their individuality.

“I hope my music represents that you should always be yourself, regardless of your flaws or any problems you’re going through,” he said. “It’s important to be you and do what makes you happy. At the end of the day you can have money or fame, but the only thing that can make you happy is doing what you love, not what brings you success.”

GRW – Love Is The Action

Blog, Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Promo, Videos

International vibe pairs with Rock/Pop stylings on new single from GRW

NASHVILLE, TN – Genre-outlaw GRW is a Nashville-based artist who has been creating new global sounds for the better part of the last decade, and his most recent single “Love Is The Action” is yet another smash hit that’s sure to find its way to a worldwide audience. Created in collaboration with Jamaican singer Nyanda – former band member of Brick and Lace – the Reggae/Electro Pop/R&B single invites listeners to consider different ways to love one another. GRW said it’s an important song for these difficult times, and that he hopes anyone who hears it takes some inspiration and feels compelled to do exactly what the song encourages: show love through action.

“The message is love is something you do instead of something you say,” GRW said. “Unless you actually show it with your actions and how you live your life, it’s meaningless. Love is what you do. It’s deep. It’s spicy. It’s real. Ultimately this is a song about how human beings treat each other, but also how we treat mother nature and everything around us. It’s a big message all around.”

GRW (which not only is an anagram of his name Gary Russell Wertz, but is also a play on the word grow) – is a regenerative farmer and animal rescuer who lived in California for many years before moving to Nashville to pursue music full-time. He and his family (Lisa Austin and daughter Lorretta) continue to grow and care for the earth in their regenerative farm/animal rescue home in Tennessee, and he considers that aspect of his life just another outflow of his creative disposition and personality.

Since his time in Nashville, GRW has been a featured performer at The Bluebird Café and other legendary local music venues. His studio, Sacred Dog  – which he started in California – has been re-established in Nashville and he has had the opportunity to work with artists like Kyle Ranson, Dave Catching of Eagles of Death Metal and Junior Toots, son of Toots Hibbert , among others. His work in the music industry has led to some amazing collaborations, including his most recent Reggae Fusion song “World Upside Down” featuring the legendary Junior Reid.

With “Love Is the Action,” GRW gets to continue that string of successful collaborations by working closely with renowned singer Nyanda, who has toured the world as a musician and was signed to Geffen Records. GRW said Nyanda brings an international flare to the table and helps to create a sound that can be embraced by a wide variety of audiences from all parts of the world.

“I’m trying to create world fusion music,” GRW said. “ To bring in all cultures and reach across different cultures and countries to create a new sound. I incorporate elements of global sounds into many of my productions. Every culture on Earth has made music worth dancing to or crying to or tripping out on. I find inspiration in all of it – from Howling Wolf to Japanese Garage Punk to Ravi Shankar and Eric B. and Rakim and Patsy Cline. It’s All Good. A song can be inspired by many flavors and it’s genetic memory descended  from many different ancestors. So, with me, you never know what you’re going to get, but you’re going to get something made with love. And hopefully a melody that gets stuck in your head and a few words that have a little meaning for you.”

“Love Is The Action” is currently available across all streaming platforms, and a new dance single “Wicked City” featuring Junior Reid will be released this August. GRW said he plans to continue releasing more music in the coming months, and is excited for a wider audience to discover his sound.

Alxndr Blue – Seasick (Feat. Don Quez)

Blog, Industry Spotlight, ME Blog, Music, Promo, Videos

Stand-out producer showcases his own music with new double-single release

STOCKTON, CA – Eric Alexander Hall – better known by his stage name Alxndr Blue – is an American singer, songwriter and producer. For the last few years he’s carved out a niche within the music industry as one of the standout producers currently working in the game, operating under the name OFASHO. He’s collaborated and worked with many big artists in California, and now he’s ready to showcase his own artistry with a handful of new singles.

His first official showcase of his sound to the world will be a double-single release of “Right Now” and “Seasick.” Though different in tone and vibe, the two songs play off one another with content. Alxndr Blue calls them a duality of love, with “Right Now” focusing on the positive and happy sides of a relationship with a woman, while “Seasick” focuses more on the toxic things that can come with an unhealthy relationship.

“I wanted to display some versatility and range with this release,” Alxndr Blue said. “Both of them are similar in a way because they’re summer songs. They’re different but similar. I wanted to put them together because it’s like opposites attract. One of them you could play riding in the car, and the other you could play at a party.”

Alxndr Blue said “Right Now” has more of a Pop/Alternative feel to it, whereas “Seasick” has more of a mellow, moody vibe. Both of those styles are indicative of the sounds he has perfected as an artist, though they merely scratch the surface when it comes to the bevvy of genres and mashups he brings to the table as an artist.

Like many musicians, Alxndr Blue started on his journey of becoming a professional musician when he was a child. He would create raps in his bedroom, and had his own little setup for recording. What started as experimenting with Garage Band grew to become a full-fledged producing and songwriting career in his late teens and early 20s. He has since built up a name for himself on the production side over the past decade. But he’s always had the itch to create his own music, and today he’s finally taking that opportunity to show the world what he’s got.

“I think I can go any direction with my music,” he said. “I really want to dive into so many different lanes. I want to do Pop and Hip-Hop and R&B – you name it, I want to dive into it. There are no boundaries. There are no labels. I’m just an all-around artist who uses music to make people feel emotions. If it’s a time when they’re going through something sad, they can listen to a sad song. If they need something to make them happy, they can listen to one of my happier songs. That’s what music has always been for me. And I’ve always gravitated toward the artists who are more vulnerable. I want to be that for other people. I want to be the artist that someone grows up listening to and becomes a fan forever. I want my music to live longer than me.”

Alxndr Blue said he has a number of songs he plans to release this year, and will next be offering acoustic versions of his already released singles before the end of the summer.
