Bebejitt drops hot debut single ‘Caliber’ 

WEST PALM BEACH, FL – East Coast rapper Cory Harmon – better known by his stage name Bebejitt – has dropped a hot new single that is lighting up the nation. “Caliber” is a groovy flow of a good time with a twist of creativity. It’s the perfect song to showcase this 21-year-old’s signature sound and style. With a sound like this, fans all over the world will soon be demanding more.  

“Everybody else in the industry today is trying to ride the same wave – what’s trending or popping or whatever the next person is doing that sounds good,” Bebejitt said. “I look at it from a different aspect. I see stuff way more than other people see it. I understand the value of things, all the way down to individual words. Every word I say is diverse – it’s not just trapped in one kind of style.” 

That approach to music-making is put on full display with “Caliber” which is currently available across all streaming platforms. Though it’s not the first song he’s ever written, it is the first song he’s released to the world and as such, he’s hopeful about how it will kick start a career as a performer and recording artist.  

Growing up in the 1990s, he was always a fan of the movie “Bebe’s Kids,” so much so that his parents and other adults in his life started referring to him and his siblings as Bebe’s Kids. He combined that with his other nickname, Jitt, and has been creating music under that moniker for about five years now. His love for music started with Michael Jackson but eventually came to include some of Hip Hop’s greats, like Biggie and Tupac. Today, he said he loves Lil Baby and Drake among others, though he tries to create his own sound and not mimic anyone else.  

“My type of flow and love for the music is just to get everyone in a good mood to be dancing while also having a sense of reality in it,” he said. “I went through a lot and I’m only 21 so I can relate to a variety of things. I want my music to be for everyone, and I want it to be the kind of music that you’re not just sitting there and bopping your head to it, but you’re getting positivity from it and it’s helping you through all the negativity that’s going on. Of course I want you to groove to it and dance to it and vibe to it.  I want to make music that gets people moving, but I also want to be a leader with my music and really encourage people. I feel like it won’t be long until people hear my music and everyone will be enjoying it.”

Reggae and Dance Hall artist Shawa aims to make signature sound accessible to a global audience

PHILADELPHIA, PA – A Reggae sensation who is on a mission to completely restructure the dancehall culture is setting the world on fire with his latest hit single “Touch Di Road.”

Shawa is a Trinidad & Tobago native who now lives in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His sound and style are a unique blend of multiple influences that are shaking up the traditional sounds of Reggae and Dancehall music. And as that sound gets in front of more ears, this fast-rising young artist is quickly becoming a global phenomenon.

“With everything we’re going through the Coronavirus and the lockdown, the Dancehall culture just kind of went away,” Shawa said. “You could say the Coronavirus is the enemy of Dancehall. But when the lockdown is over, we’re gonna go out and hit the streets. We’re gonna paint the streets red. We’re gonna “Touch Di Road”. So this song is about getting ready to party as soon as this thing is over.”

Shawa said part of his purpose in blending new sounds with the traditional Dancehall rhythms is to reach a more international audience. He said Reggae has often been limited to a specific audience and as such, there’s a deficit of international artists within that genre. But Shawa wants to take his music global and make it available for everybody.

“Reggae shouldn’t just be for a Caribbean audience,” he said. “It should be for everybody. That’s why I say I want to restructure the Dancehall culture. It can’t be underground anymore. It can’t be structured around immoral things, like it has in the past. I want to polish it and represent it with royalty. Everyone is a king – that’s one of our slogans. And with that comes a polished, clean sound.”

As Shawa continues to expand on this sound and style, he said he’s interested in working with all of the major DJs and collaborating with other artists to create something truly original. He’s not a one-dimensional artist and can seamlessly flow between multiple genres and popular music as a whole. More than anything, he’s looking for global appreciation of this brand of music that he said has always been great and for which he has a deep love and appreciation.

Respect Jknight brings decade-plus of craftsmanship to the table with hot new single ‘Never Leave’

ROCHESTER, NY – If you give respect, you get respect. That’s the mantra of East Coast artist Respect Jknight whose latest single “Never Leave” is currently lighting up the digital airwaves.

Born and raised in upstate Rochester, Jermiane J. Griffin – AKA Jknight – began to freestyle rap at the age of 10 with his other siblings and friends from around the neighborhood. His inspirations came from artists such as Nas, Jadakiss and Styles-P. He studied the music industry and eventually began to cross into making beats and recording his own vocals. Midwest artist Keyn takes sound to the next level with new single ‘Draft Night’

TOLEDO, OH – Midwest artist Keyn is ready to take it to the next level. Known for his three-part album series “The Drop Off,” Keyn has developed a large following throughout Ohio and the central part of the U.S. But with his latest single, “Draft Night,” he’s ready to grab an ever-widening audience along the East and West Coasts and eventually, an international audience.

That eager sense of anticipation is the very essence of Keyn’s new single. Tapping into the vibes that every prospective professional athlete feels in the moments before being officially drafted by a team, Keyn uses an upbeat Trap vibe to show off his unique delivery while expressing how he’s ready to take it to the next level of the industry.

“It’s all about the anticipation of draft night and how you feel when you’re hoping to get drafted,” he said. “For a long time, I was known as the kid around the neighborhood who was always rapping. “When it comes to my music, it’s all about substance,” Keyn said. “When I come into my songs, it’s the content I put out there – content that people will never expect. I’m not a standard artist. I can touch on anything I went through in one song and still make it diverse. I have a laid-back style but at the same time, my delivery is a little aggressive – the bars can be aggressive now and then. I guess you could call it laid-back Trap Rap or Smooth Trap.”

Keyn also emphasized how versatile he is as a musician, noting that he sings on some of his tracks and has worked with Cook on the Beat to layer in some harmonies on the forthcoming album. From a content point of view, he said he wants to offer fans a range of perspectives – from stories from the streets to uplifting, anthemic jams that will inspire others to make the best of their lives.

“Sometimes I approach things from an outside view,” he said, “like I’m a third person looking at what’s happening. So if you’re going through something and you need to talk to somebody but you don’t’ have anybody, I want to put the music out there that will be your outlet. If you want to express something and you can’t, my music is out there for you to use to relate to it. And at the same time I still make music for people to ride to and just enjoy.”

Hit-maker Cristal Carrington rides wave of success
with string of Pop single releases in 2020

Chicago rapper takes listeners through relatable journey with new single ‘4 AM’ and forthcoming self-titled album ‘Hari’ 

CHICAGO, IL – The mind thinks of random things in the early hours of the morning. Chicago rapper Hari (used to be known as Leastkoo) takes listeners on a fun ride through his own thoughts with his latest single “4 AM,” currently available across all streaming platforms. With a catchy hook and a mid-tempo bounce, “4 AM” offers lyrics that will immediately catch the attention of anyone who hears it, with most immediately able to connect with the vibe that Hari is presenting.  

“It’s very relatable,” Hari said. “There are a lot of things that it talks about that my mind thinks about at 4 AM. It talks about my ex and how she moved on and how it could have been better. It talks about my uncle who passed and how his spirit is still near and around me. It talks about how I had started smoking at the beginning of the year but that I’ve backed off from that. The single is the first off a 12-song album called “Hari” which is slated to drop on Dec. 13. Serving as an introduction of this young up-and-coming artist, “Hari” dives into the journey that he’s taken over the past couple of years to get to where he is today as a professional recording artist. Throughout the project, Hari comes back to the major event that sparked his desire to pursue music full-time – the death of his cousin who overdosed on drugs earlier this year.  

“It’s about him and what I’ve been dealing with personally on my own,” Hari said of the album. “I had to take a step back from everybody that I had surrounded myself with so that I could focus more on my music and get myself together. I hope my music is something people can go back to and refresh their minds time and time again. I want them to do what I always did with music that I loved – I like to listen to things that would get me up and put me in a good mood or inspire me to keep going. I listen to other artists to get that inspiration, and that’s what I want my music to do for others.”  

Hari’s sound is distinct though he embraces vibes that are familiar. He blends Rap, R&B and Hip Hop into his own signature style to create something truly original. And this is just the beginning. “These artists are a lot of heavy hitters from the mid-90s and early 2000s hip-hop,” Roving Jewel said. “I wanted some legendary emcees on there – people who had the kind of sound I grew up with. When I pitched the idea to them, they were down to work on the project. It’s something that we’ve crafted together over the past six to eight months. I’m 38 this year, which is a big part of the reason for the name. But that number is also an auspicious number in numerology. It represents a time of growth, creativity and expansion that’s usually marked by some sort of turmoil before growth. That’s a good metaphor of 2020 and what this year has brought for so many of us. So on this album, you’re going to hear a lot of things that reflect what we’re going through in present times – from civil rights to racial tension to police brutality and of course the pandemic. Ultimately, it’s an album that captures the mindset of how everyone is making it through it.” 

The debut single from the project is a song called “On Everything” which features Substantial – known for his insightful lyrics and his work with acclaimed Japanese producer Nujabes known for his jazzy and soulful take on Hip Hop. Roving Jewel said the song definitely embraces that jazzy, soulful vibe as Substantial raps about what he’s facing as a black man in America right now and what he has to go through in his day-to-day life. It’s a song that he said not only demonstrates the individuality of each of the artists featured on the project, but also which sets the tone for the creativity and diversity of the entire album. 

“In Hip Hop, a lot of the stuff you hear in the mainstream today is Trap-infused and to me doesn’t have the soulfulness and warmness – or even the grittiness – that the mid-90s had,” he said. “I kind of wanted to embody that as an echo back to that golden era. I also included some stuff to make it sound like it was brought up in the present times and some things that can take us into the future as well. In some cases, you might hear some weird synth sounds, some angelic voices in the background, or soundscapes with sparse percussion to create that futuristic sound that pairs well with the 90s era of Hip Hop.”

Mr. Buddy perfectly captures essence of Funk with latest single ‘Fonqwitus’

Teenage singer/songwriter Kayla Clark offers introspective look at solitude with new single ‘My World of Loneliness’ 

PHOENIX, AZ – Kayla Clark is a fresh Indie singer/songwriter who seamlessly blurs the lines between most contemporary Pop sub-genres through her storytelling and remarkably catchy tracks. But with 2020 forcing most artists to stay home and avoid the crowds that come from live performances, Clark has instead focused on her songwriting. As a result, she’s recorded a large collection of songs that perfectly narrate her life as a young woman and musical artist – all of which she plans to release over the course of the next coming months on her new EP, “My World of Loneliness,” set to drop in January. 

Prior to the new EP, however, Clark said she plans to release another single called “Silhouette of Me” on Dec. 15. Taking a cue from “My World of Loneliness,” this new single will explore that moment late at night when it feels like all the rest of the world is asleep. 

“It’s late and all the lights are going off in the city and you feel like you’re the only one awake,” Clark said of the song. “The only thing to keep you company in that moment is your shadow. It’s a song that features more of me on guitar, but at the end, it’s all about the lyrics. I just want people to hear my songs and be able to connect with them and have their own interpretation of the lyrics and apply it to their own lives. I think music is something that can bring us all together through different emotions and experiences of life, which is why I spend the most time on the lyrics. I’d rather write a song that actually means something than create a catchy tune. I will always want to connect in deeper ways.”

But more than that, he said he’s always been impressed with how those legends have been able to connect with a wide audience.  

“They tell you how it is and why it is and they’re straightforward,” he said. “They tell the truth, and that’s what I want to be known for when it comes to my music. I want people to know I don’t hold back. The things that Kevin Gates has been through, I’ve been through them, too. Back in 2013, I was still in the streets and going crazy. But when I saw him on Breakfast Club, my life changed.” 

That moment served as a spark of inspiration for 1260BC who started moving away from baseball and toward music. He served for two-and-a-half years in the military and upon returning home started working with his brother on his unique sound and style as an artist. Over the past seven years, he’s been honing that sound while trying to break away from that street lifestyle that has so many consequences. For his latest single, he said he happened to get lucky with a local Atlanta producer who heard him rapping on the mic one day and offered to bring him a beat for the song. 

“I was in the studio with one of my boys and when the producer walked in and heard us he said he had a beat that would be perfect for it,” 1260BC said. “He sent it to me the next day and we laid it down right away. It’s an upbeat track and when some people hear it they say it reminds them of 21 Savage. But I have my own sound that’s just different than anyone else.” 

1260BC said he’s planning on continuing to drop singles over the next few months, leading up to a full album that he’d like to release in summer 2021.
